The journal's editors have an inclusive understanding of the field and aim to reflect and shape its growth and evolution. Over the years, JMIS has published papers on various topics, including the economics of IS, strategic deployment of IT, design research, neuroscience in IS research, behavioral cybersecurity, health informatics, and AI-human collaboration. The journal also recognizes its responsibility to support the well-being of society and explores the societal impacts of IT-driven change. New technology refers to the use of computing machines, AI, Big Data, IoT, deep ‎‎learning, IT, MIS, ‎AIS, knowledge management, capture, manipulate, ‎and retrieve shared knowledge. Therefore, the integration of modern technology, ‎entrepreneurship, and business should be well ‎managed to provide a wide range of high-quality ‎and competitive products and services in societies. The aim of this special issue is to highlight the latest features that blend AI, Big Data, and IoT facilitated and employ them to support the successful growth of businesses. This paper aims to address in-depth the state of the art of current literature relating to digital supply chain management. A set of 100 papers deduced from the most relevant scientific databases from 2005 to 2020 has been analyzed and synthesised. The analysis and evaluation of these papers have enabled identifying the difference between traditional and digital supply chains, the emerging technologies' impact on supply chain performance, and the current state of digital supply chain management using the SWOT matrix. Besides, it provides a holonic roadmap framework for future study. This work's originality lies in the holonic architecture considering the digital supply chain's hierarchy multiscale and multilevel (business strategies). This holonic architecture supports supply chain performance under the industry 4.0 ecosystem by considering strategic, tactical, and operational strategies. Therefore, the developed framework helps to enable the necessary transition towards the achievement of digital supply chain performance based on the holonic architecture. The proposed study is beneficial for both practitioners and academics as it describes the critical aspects of the supply chain transformation and represents a solid background that outlines the necessity of incorporating a strategical viewpoint for digital supply chains adoption. Technological advancements and the expanding scope of offshore dynamic positioning (DP) applications introduce new challenges in terms of safety and risk control. This paper provides an overview of a proposed methodology for reliability and risk analysis in the context of DP operations. Firstly, two typical DP operation contexts are discussed. Subsequently, a comprehensive survey is conducted to assess the reliability analysis methodologies applicable to DP systems, encompassing techniques such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis, Markov models, and Bayesian networks, which are employed to evaluate the technical and human reliability of DP Class 2 and Class 3 systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) policy, innovation, and practice are moving ahead in rapid fashion. There is a growing mismatch between technological innovations in AI, which are advancing at a rapid rate, and normative and regulatory frameworks, which are lagging, particularly when it comes to protecting democratic values and human rights principles. National governments and multilateral institutions are attempting to catch up. At least 175 countries, firms and other organizations have produced documents listing ethical principles for AI. These efforts have proceeded in a somewhat fragmented manner, yet there are emerging signs of consolidation as the United States, Europe, and other countries begin to coalesce around shared principles. Europe, in particular, has raced ahead to draft comprehensive legislation, the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA), to oversee these technologies and systems. What has motivated the European Union to pursue this approach? And how will this effort influence AI norms globally? This paper describes how Europe's AI norm-building process represents an effort to ensure EU priorities are reflected in the AI governance landscape. Europe's approach faces uncertainty. This paper examines the impact of technological change on Indian economic growth using the Bayesian Vector Auto-Regressive (BVAR) methodology. We use a comprehensive annual time series dataset covering the period of 1980 to 2019 on real economic activity, gross fixed capital formation, and employment. Technological innovation is measured by the number of patents filed by resident Indians. Technological innovation positively impacts both economic growth and gross fixed capital formation. Our findings indicate that increasing the number of patents leads to higher investment, which drives India's economic growth. However, our results also point towards the possible negative influence of technological innovation on the aggregate employment scenario in India. Our main findings are robust to alternative identification strategies and variable transformation. Under the background of increasing economic policy uncertainty (EPU), this paper explores the time-varying impact of EPU on technical innovation (TI) by using the Granger causality test of the bootstrap rolling-window of full and sub-sample. We find the positive impact from EPU to TI indicates that a low EPU will stimulate TI. On the contrary, the positive effect of TI on EPU shows that the rapid development of technology has led to frequent changes in relevant policies, which will cause the rise of EPU. This paper investigates the contributions of Pope Francis toward human-centered AI and digital innovation. It draws from his numerous dialogues with experts in technology, medicine, science, ethics, law, philosophy, and theology. The papal engagements are based on the rich patrimony of Catholic Social Teaching that is being updated in the wake of the digital revolutions. The paper explores the Magisterium of Francis with the question of technological progress and inherent dangers for human society. Over the past decade, Chinese government has invested large amounts of government subsidies to support the development of new energy vehicle (NEV) industry. Whether the government subsidy has achieved the expected effect and how to further adjust the subsidy policy to better promote the development of the NEV industry have received wide attention. This paper considers the characteristics of technological innovation and financing constraints of enterprises at different position of the NEV industry chain, and empirically test the incentive effect of government subsidies on R&D investment from the perspective of the industry chain. The research findings show that government subsidies promote the R&D investment of all enterprises in the NEV industry chain, however, the promotion effect on upstream and midstream enterprises is more significant. With the reduction of consumption subsidies, the promotion effect of government subsidies on the R&D investment of listed companies in the NEV industry has been strengthened. Further research finds that government subsidies promote R&D investment by alleviating the financing constraints of upstream and midstream enterprises. There is an industry chain synergy effect in the technological innovation of new energy vehicle enterprises, and government subsidies can promote this synergistic effect from upstream to downstream. Policy promotes the development of high-tech industrial parks (HIP) and the improvement of their innovation efficiency. To conduct an in-depth study of the driving path and differences of HIP policies on innovation efficiency, by making a theoretical analysis on the impact of scientific and technological innovation policies (STI) on innovation efficiency, this paper empirically analyzes the impact of STI on innovation efficiency of high-technology industrial parks. Linear regression and qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) are mainly used. Empirical tests found that policy targets drove innovation efficiency in a relatively minor way. Demand-based policy tools had the most significant influence on that. Supply-based and environment-based policy tools had a notable positive impact during the lag periods of policies.As the results of QCA, in the early stage of the development of HIP, the supply-led environment optimization path and the supply-led comprehensive path are the two forms of policy combination approaches of STI, and supply-based policies have a greater impact. In the later stages, there are four forms of policy mix approaches to STI that affect innovation efficiency, including targets-directed pathway, demand-driven pathway, supply-dominated environment optimization pathway, and environment-dominated comprehensive pathway. The RF (Radio Frequency) signals carry both energy and information. Harvesting energy from these RF signals leads to new technology such as WEH (Wireless Energy Harvesting). In this paper, the design of a microstrip-fed spurious free slant antenna array for wireless energy harvesting applications. A prototype antenna operating at 2.45 GHz is designed and fabricated. Defected ground structure (DGS) and stubs have been used to suppress the spurious responses. The measured results show 19% 10 dB return loss bandwidth, 7.11 dBi average gain, and more than 80% radiation efficiency. This paper analyses Low-Income Country (LICs) firms' use of open innovation (OI) in overcoming various innovation constraints. We disaggregate local and foreign sources of innovation using a new measure of international openness. A survey of 501 manufacturing firms in Ghana reveals that OI is employed to address cost, knowledge, management, and market barriers. Knowledge and cost constraints lead to a broader and deeper search whereas cost barriers lead to a greater domestic search. Firms that faced market barriers significantly search more internationally while those facing infrastructure barriers tend to search less broadly and deeply for external knowledge. The substantial informal sector in Ghana hampers OI. Results also indicate an inverted-U-shaped relationship between the breadth of openness and innovation performance. This paper contributes to the literature by providing the first large firm-level survey-based evidence of OI in a LICs context, and by introducing a new measure of international innovation openness. It highlights the emergence of real-time neurosimulations and neuromorphic computing as key tools to achieve these aspirations. Additionally, the integration of neurological and hormonal bioinspiration is examined as a promising approach to the design of neural interfaces, fostering more efficient and effective technologies that align better with the human body. Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a critical engine that powers a range of technology solutions. It is rapidly playing a vital role in supply chain and operations management. In this paper, we present a research agenda of how researchers and practitioners alike can study the potential adoption of AI-powered tools for benefits in the supply chain. We draw on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology and suggest directions for research that leverage a mixed-methods research approach. Because these technologies are in a nascent stage and evolving rapidly, a mixed-methods approach will allow for a careful examination of potential features and how their adoption can be fostered, with specific benefits in mind. This position paper elaborates on three core themes that emerged from a panel discussion that was held at the 21st Congress of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology. The authors of this paper discussed the status quo and the future of Work and Organizational Psychology (WOP) research and practice amidst the advent of emerging workplace technologies. The discussion centred on the question of what role WOP scholars and practitioners should take within this interdisciplinary field and how future research should evolve from previous studies on automation. The paper systematically examines: (1) emerging technologies as a new type of technological change, (2) WOP's role in the design of emerging technologies and socio-technical systems, and (3) hindrances in WOP becoming more involved. Based on our reflections regarding each of these themes, we propose seven actionable recommendations to move forward and to encourage the involvement of WOP in the development and implementation of emerging technologies at work. Due to the strong penetrability, long-wavelength synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can provide an opportunity to reconstruct the three-dimensional structure of the penetrable media. SAR tomography (TomoSAR) technology can resynthesize aperture perpendicular to the slant-range direction and then obtain the tomographic profile consisting of power distribution of different heights, providing a powerful technical tool for reconstructing the three-dimensional structure of the penetrable ground objects. As an emerging technology, it is different from the traditional interferometric SAR (InSAR) technology and has advantages in reconstructing the three-dimensional structure of the illuminated media. Over the past two decades, many TomoSAR methods have been proposed to improve the vertical resolution, aiming to distinguish the locations of different scatters in the unit pixel. In order to cope with the forest mission of European Space Agency (ESA) that is designed to provide P-band SAR measurements to determine the amount of biomass and carbon stored in forests, it is necessary to systematically evaluate the performance of forest height and underlying topography inversion using TomoSAR technology. In this paper, we adopt three typical algorithms, namely, Capon, Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC), and Compressed Sensing (CS), to evaluate the performance in forest height and underlying topography inversion. The P-band airborne full-polarization (FP) SAR data of Lopè National Park in the AfriSAR campaign implemented by ESA in 2016 is adopted to verify the experiment. Furthermore, we explore the effects of different baseline designs and filter methods on the reconstruction of the tomographic profile. The results show that a better tomographic profile can be obtained by using Hamming window filter and Capon algorithm in uniform baseline distribution and a certain number of acquisitions. Compared with LiDAR results, the root-mean-square error (RMSE) of forest height and underlying topography obtained by Capon algorithm is 2.17 m and 1.58 m, which performs the best among the three algorithms. We can no longer realise images solely through semiotic theories of interpretation and judgement fixed to earlier modes of communication, such as print. Instead, we engage with images through various networked digital devices and online social interactions. These engagements offer many possible experiences with images, some of which we have agency and others that are purely autonomic and some interactions resembling a healthy-bodied manifestation of visual agnosia or the loss of ability to recognise and identify. This paper utilises research from the 'Fast Image' study, a study of graphic design students and practitioners and their views on photographic image use, comparing print and online media. The author uses an interpretive approach supported by mixed data-gathering methods, including photo-elicitation, interviews and semi-structured questions. This discussion encourages advancing visual literacy and visual culture discourses to incorporate a Neurophenomenological approach toward understanding the effects of emerging technologies and viewing environments on photographic image use. The paper investigates how the non-economic goals of the current CEOs affect innovation in family firms. A qualitative in-depth multiple case study of four family firms is carried out, in which the current CEOs' non-economic goals are identified by direct interviews with the current CEOs themselves and with the members who managed the company before them (i.e., the predecessors). As a main result, the paper proposes a theoretical framework which explains the relationships between goals and innovation by identifying a series of managerial levers activated because of the peculiarity of the current CEOs' non-economic goals. Based on the Derwent patent index database, this paper takes the data source of 5G technology-related patents of China and the United States from January 1, 1998, to December 31, 2019. It uses the social network analysis method to conduct a comparative study on the cooperative innovation network and evolution path of 5G technology between China and the United States. The paper's results present that: (1) the scale of the 5G technology industry in the two countries continues to expand, and the field of patented technology continues to improve, (2) The number of 5G technology-related patents in China exceeds that in the United States, but China lacks core patents, the quality of 5G technology innovation lags that in the United States, (3) Most of the resources in the innovation networks in China and the US are controlled by large companies, but the level of cooperation among Chinese patentees is not as high as that in the US. Based on the data of China A-share listed enterprises, this paper examines the actual effect and mechanism of the development of digital finance on different innovation behaviors of enterprises, by using the panel data model and regression-based mediation analysis. It is found that the development of digital finance not only promotes the R&D investment of enterprises but also improves the quantity and quality of enterprise innovation output. The incentive effect of digital finance on enterprise R&D investment is stronger than that on innovation output, while the incentive effect of digital finance on enterprise breakthrough innovation is stronger than that of incremental innovation. Both the 'broadening' and the 'deepening' of digital finance have a significant positive effect on enterprise innovation, while the 'digitalization degree' of digital finance has no significant effect on enterprise innovation, and even may hinder the improvement of innovation quality. The incentive effect of digital finance on the innovation output of state-owned enterprises is reflected in 'quantity', while the incentive effect on innovation of non-state-owned enterprises is reflected in 'quality'. Digital finance can stimulate enterprise innovation by easing the financing constraints of enterprises, optimizing the government subsidy system, and improving the business environment. This paper explores the effects of innovation on firm survival by using data from a representative survey of small and medium manufacturing firms in the province of Salerno, Italy. We innovate upon the literature by (a) comparing the impact of different sources of internal and external knowledge (including universities) on the probability of firm survival; (b) assessing the mediating impact of the human capital of workers and entrepreneurs on learning from these knowledge sources. Finally, we measure the impact of different types of innovation on firm survival. Our evidence upholds the link between innovation and firm survival, particularly for product and organisational innovation. Results regarding the impact of different sources of knowledge highlight the roles of employee training, the human capital of entrepreneurs and workers and the productivity of university departments providing relevant knowledge. Other elements of external knowledge, such as proximity to the University of Salerno or being in the city of Salerno, are significant facilitators of survival only if mediated through high levels of the human capital of entrepreneurs and workers. Blockchain is an emerging technology with the potential to radically transform logistics in the highly complex environment of the agri-food supply chain. The key challenges of the agri-food sector include overcoming the limitations (time, cost and quality) to developing global and efficient transparency and traceability of food, eliminating expensive intermediaries, and ensuring no disruption between suppliers and retailers. This paper describes a practical approach by not only using smart contracts to integrate various stakeholders but also incorporating a Public Participation Geographic Information System platform to ensure traceability of the operations conducted in an agri-food supply chain. As a factor in improving distribution and minimising intermediaries, third-party logistics participation is included in this research. Through a case study, the entities and interactions between processes within a blockchain system based on a smart contract are identified. Apple waste (APW) is the residual product after apple processing, including apple peel, apple core, apple seed, and other components. A large quantity of APW produced is abandoned annually, leading to serious resource waste and environmental pollution. APW is rich in natural active compounds, such as pectin, polyphenols, fatty acids, and dietary fiber, which has a good use value. This paper reviewed the current research on recovering active components from APW. The traditional extraction methods (acid, alkali, physical, enzyme, etc.) and the novel extraction methods (SWE, UAE, MAE, RFAE, etc.) for the recovery of pectin, polyphenols, apple seed oil, apple seed protein, and dietary fiber from APW were systematically summarized. The basic principles, advantages, and disadvantages of different extraction methods were introduced. The requirements of different extraction methods on extraction conditions and the effects of different extraction methods on the yield, quality, and functional activity of extracted products were analyzed. The challenges and future study direction of APW extraction have prospected. This paper aims to provide a reference for other researchers interested in APW extraction, improve the utilization rate of APW and extend the value chain of the apple industry. Innovation is important to firms' productivity, competitiveness, agility, resilience and growth. The success of a firm's innovation strategy depends in part on how it combines and absorbs different innovation activities. Using the Crépon-Duguet-Mairesse (CDM) structural model, this paper analyses complementarity between product and process innovation for the case of small and micro manufacturing firms in Johannesburg, South Africa. The empirical analysis utilises rich new firm-level survey data that, unlike most firm surveys, includes micro-sized firms as well as informal enterprises. Our results show strong evidence of complementarity between product and process innovations in their effects on firm performance. The results suggest that firm size, capital intensity, firm age, innovation expenditure and financial constraints are key variables associated with complementarity. We extend the specifications used in previous studies to take account of the contextual setting, with split samples by firm formality, ownership and size. We find evidence of complementarity in formal firms only. Our results also show stronger effects of complementarity in micro-firms and foreign-owned firms. The findings have relevance for promoting innovation and for enhancing the effects of innovation on firm performance among micro- and small enterprises (MSEs) in a developing country context. SUMMARY: Poultry feed manufacturing refers to processing various raw materials to meet birds' nutrient requirements, based on knowledge of animal nutrition and mechanical engineering. Since the advent of feed mills, many technologies have been utilised to implement various feed manufacturing techniques, which are helpful to sustainably produce well-balanced, cost-effective and high-quality feed. Efforts have been made to further strengthen the environmental, social and economic sustainability of feed manufacturing via a variety of technological innovations over the years. The integration and application of new technologies will be helpful to further improve poultry feed manufacturing in the future as well. By increasing the precision and uniformity of the final feed, and reducing the risk of errors, these advancements will ultimately result in more efficient manufacturing of animal products, optimising both the nutrition supplied and the energy used. This paper introduces the concept of digital capability gaps (DCG); the relative difference of a firm's ability to design and control products, services, and processes by utilising digital technologies in relation to customers and partners. These DCGs matter as they affect SME's strategic responses and the value-creating relationships. Our findings reveal that strategic responses differ according to the magnitude of DCGs: Large DCGs may offer the opportunity for 'digital diversification' by using the capabilities developed to enter new domains. In cases of moderate DCGs, firms respond by adopting the role of a 'digital parent' and innovate on behalf of customers. Finally, in the cases of small DCGs, firms may respond by forming 'digital collaborations.' Our study also unpacks the influencing factors that affect DCGs: the consolidation or fragmentation of customer portfolio and competitive landscape and the extent to which players have a similar digital pressure for adopting digital capabilities. Several emerging technologies afford a specific type of interference with privacy which has not yet been conceptualised: inferring information about mental properties of persons on the basis of physiological or biometric signals, in short: mind probing. This paper conceptualises it, analyses several forms and proposes concrete norms that ban and criminalise it. Facial emotion recognition, neuroimaging, or wearable consumer devices such as smartwatches process biometric data to draw inferences about minds; the prevalence and sophistication of such mind probes will soon increase through AI data analysis. This paper explores how human rights law, the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the EU AI Act address mind probes and shows why the current level of protection appears insufficient. This motivates novel norms banning and criminalising non-consensual biometric-based forms of mind reading, ensuring that at least some parts of the mind remain in principle free from non-consensual mind probing. This paper aims to make a theoretical contribution to the field of student activism in relation to the school. In an age marked by ecological, economic and technological change, and where certainties based on Humanism and anthropocentricism continue to be eroded, this paper explores possibilities for reintegrating the school as meaningful to the ethico-political development of students. Activism is positioned in this paper as a means by which students can actualise their ethico-political agency in relation to the self, others and the world. This paper therefore urges school leaders to recognise the potential of knowledge generated through affirmative youth activism and to find a space for this knowledge within the school. This is particularly important within a context of growing youth disillusionment with formal schooling and its inadequate response to the crises of our age. The production of critical metals for emerging clean technologies also requires more sustainable, cleaner and cost-effective processing options. The recovery of cobalt (Co) via pyrometallurgical or hydrometallurgical methods has proved to be successful and practicable; nevertheless, these processes are difficult to manage, have a high operating cost, and produce secondary waste products. In recent years, bioleaching has increasingly gained favor as a method for extracting Co from ores, concentrates, and tailings. The availability of Co in primary and tailings resources, as well as the bioleaching approaches from these deposits are discussed in this paper. Bioleaching of Co has been investigated from primary sources such as Cu-Co deposits, polymetallic Ni-Co-Cu deposits, Co sulfides and arsenides, Ni-Co laterites, and secondary sources including tailings materials. The microorganisms and methods utilized in Co bioleaching from these sources, as well as parameters influencing the bioleaching process, and ways for improving Co bioleaching efficiency, have all been thoroughly discussed in this review. This study examines the potential of different microorganisms to solubilize Co from sulfide and laterite deposits by performing an in-depth meta-analysis of the individual research findings to enable inter-study comparisons and identify research gaps. The reviewed laboratory studies and existing industrial practices for Co bioleaching in this paper intend to offer some inspiration for further research into innovative technologies that may be used to sustainably extract Co, mainly from ores, concentrates and tailings resources. Chilean fruit exports grew 252% between 1975 and 2016. This paper aims to analyze agribusiness's readjustment strategies to face the socio-ecological impacts of the Capitalocene. For this purpose, our guiding questions are: How is agribusiness reading the current socio-ecological crisis, and what strategies are its main actors proposing? The main strategies in progress are technical innovations in productive systems, the increasing scale of infrastructure, displacement toward the south of the country, and renewed narratives. While recent technological advancements have enabled improved performance in warehouse operations, companies still struggle with eliminating errors such as incorrect/damaged items or the wrong quantity sent to customers. Such errors result in inefficient resource use, costly returns handling, and customer dissatisfaction. Despite the importance of errors, current knowledge of the underlying causes is limited. This paper addresses the gap by investigating error causes through a relatively new technology - intelligent video analysis (IVA), an additional tool for analysing warehouse operations. A multiple case study involving companies that have implemented IVA in their outbound warehouse operations (i.e. order picking, packing, and sorting) was conducted. This study is the first to investigate implementations of IVA, offering novel empirical insights into error root causes. It shows how many errors reported by customers are actually not made by humans in outbound warehouse operations but are attributable to faulty customer claims, inbound warehouse operation errors, and malfunctioning technology. This study offers interesting insights into the interaction of various technical, organisational, and human factors, thereby contributing to the literature on sociotechnical systems and the human-centric Industry 5.0. As most outcropping and shallow mineral deposits have been found, new technology is imperative to finding the hidden critical mineral deposits required for the renewable energy transition. One such seismic technique, called ambient noise tomography (ANT), has shown promise in recent years as a low cost and low environmental impact passive method of three-dimensional (3D) imaging of shear-wave velocity structure of the Earth. Over the last twenty years the method has been well-established in academia to image crustal and regional scale geological features but has seldom been used at the mineral exploration deposit-scale. In this paper we show the application of seismic ANT at an IOCG deposit in South Australia under more than 750 m of sedimentary cover. A 100-site survey in a 10 by 10 grid with site spacing of 1 km, using 3-component nodal seismometers with a natural-frequency of 5 Hz, was conducted over a two-week period. Data were inverted to generate a 3D velocity model to a depth of 2 km. When compared to drillholes in the survey area, the tomographic model delineates cover sequence lithologies and the depth of crystalline basement. A velocity anomaly in the basement has characteristics of a potential IOCG deposit and is aligned with a gravity anomaly due to brecciated haematite. The results of the paper indicate that ANT is a useful tool for deep cover mineral exploration that can potentially expedite the discovery of new deposits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractThe main purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of designing English textbooks based on the concept of the metaverse and using the new term TechBoox, which is a combination of Technology and Boox (modified from book with a greater emphasis on box as a spatial concept). To achieve this goal, this study documents the creation of TechBoox by a group of 23 pre-service English as a Foreign Language teachers in their teacher training program, who have converted learning content and materials from elementary English paper and digital textbooks into a three-dimensional metaverse platform. Thereafter, the research analyzes the participants’ perceptions and experiences regarding TechBoox ideation and creation. This is done through a qualitative case study approach with refleciton papers and semi-structured interviews. The findings suggest, on the one hand, that TechBoox has the potential to overcome the limitations of the static and two-dimensional nature of traditional textbooks through constructability for enhanced immersion, as well as experiential learning via direct participation in avatar movements. On the other hand, the study identifies the technological limitations of the concept in generating immersive content, access devices, potential distractions, and the novelty effect, which highlights the important role of teachers in the metaverse. The virtual agglomeration of manufacturing realises the ubiquitous connection and efficient allocation of technological innovation resources, and becomes a new driving force for improving the technological innovation efficiency of enterprises and building a strong manufacturing country. This paper constructs a theoretical framework to investigate the impact of the specialised and diversified virtual agglomeration of manufacturing on the efficiency of enterprise technological innovation. This paper uses the adjusted location entropy and the Herfindahl-Hirschman index to measure the level of specialised and diversified virtual agglomeration of manufacturing. Using Chinese manufacturing data (2008–2021), empirical tests confirm that the specialised and diversified virtual agglomeration of manufacturing can improve the efficiency of enterprise technological innovation. Additionally, the mechanism test results show that the specialised virtual agglomeration of manufacturing improves the technological innovation efficiency of enterprises through competition and knowledge spillover, and the diversified virtual agglomeration improves the technological innovation efficiency of enterprises through knowledge spillover. However, the effect of specialised virtual agglomeration of manufacturing on the efficiency of enterprises` technological innovation will be adjusted by the age of enterprises. Thus, the study investigated the impact of functionality, reliability, compatibility, and innovative features on perceived technological usefulness, task-technology fit, and trust in technology, and, further, their influence on technology readiness and technology acceptance. An online questionnaire was employed to collect data from B2B marketing employees in China working in companies that introduced at least one new technology for work purposes in the last 24 months. Based on a convenience sampling method, 450 valid questionnaires were collected. PLS-SEM was used to analyze the data.Functionality, reliability, compatibility, and innovative features had significant positive effects on perceived technological usefulness and task-technology fit. Functionality, reliability, and compatibility had significant positive effects on trust in technology. Among the four technology characteristics, the strongest influence was recorded in the case of compatibility on task-technology fit, while innovative features represented the only variable that displayed a non-significant relationship with an employee perception and trust in technology. Task-technology fit had significant positive impacts on perceived technological usefulness, trust in technology, technology readiness, and technology acceptance. Perceived technological usefulness and trust in technology displayed significant positive effects on technology readiness and technology acceptance. Among the three B2B marketing employee perceptions, the strongest relationship was the one between task-technology fit and trust in technology. Technology readiness had a significant positive influence on technology acceptance. Mediating effects were also computed, with indirect effects complementing the direct ones. Task-technology fit partially mediated the effects of functionality, reliability, compatibility, and innovative features on trust in technology. Trust in technology partially mediated the effects of task-technology fit on technology readiness and technology acceptance. Technology readiness partially mediated the effects of perceived technological usefulness and trust in technology on technology readiness. Innovative features, displaying a non-significant effect on trust in technology, had an indirect effect on it through task-technology fit.This study proposes a new research vein on B2B marketing employee technology adoption by investigating technology readiness and technology acceptance as dependent variables, as well as the impact of the former on the latter. What constitutes good intelligence is best understood by practitioners but has not been explored through empirical analysis and in the context of a digital age. This paper presents the first research inside all the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community exploring how they are impacted by big data. Intelligence is often opaque to outsiders, yet understanding the characteristics of good intelligence is important to societies that rely on intelligence agencies for national security. This paper reflects the previously unheard perspectives of members of the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community – where there is a significant empirical gap. Semi-structured interviews with 47 participants explored the impact of big data on intelligence and decision-making in Australia. This paper finds that intelligence must meet the following characteristics, many established in historical literature, in order to be considered good intelligence; (i) timely, (ii) purposeful, (iii) actionable, (iv) accurate, (v) provides value-add for an intended audience, and, (vi) is unbiased. This paper analyzes this shift in the relationship between China and the United States, focusing in particular on the role of American corporations in shaping US geopolitical strategies with regard to China. This paper studies the licensing of a product innovation in a duopoly by means of two-part tariff contracts composed of fixed-fee payments combined with per-unit or ad-valorem royalties. When the licensor is a firm within the industry (internal licensor), it licenses the innovation to its competitor by using a pure ad-valorem royalty, and welfare is reduced because the royalty has anticompetitive effects on market performance. On welfare grounds, fixed-fee predominates over per-unit royalty licensing, but has the disadvantage that firms sometimes fail to reach an agreement. A simple regulatory rule is then proposed for a second-best optimal policy on product innovation licensing. However, when the innovator is outside the industry (external licensor), it never uses ad-valorem royalties. The brushless direct current motors have gained popularity among the emerging technologies due to their increased efficiency, speed of operation, and density of flux. This paper presents a novel technique for controlling the speed of the brushless direct current motor by using hybrid algorithms. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is combined with the Takagi Sugeno adaptive fuzzy interference system and gravitational search algorithms to analyze the speed control of the brushless DC electric motor (BLDC) motors. The proposed model has designed multiple outputs prototype for BLDC motor with Takagi Sugeno fuzzy logic. Since the adaptive fuzzy logic system has three outputs, the final output is evaluated as the average value of all the outputs using the LMS algorithm. The speed control of the Brushless DC motor has also been analyzed using a combination of the gravitational search algorithm and the PSO algorithm. The motor parameters taken under consideration for the analysis have been tabulated. The different results obtained at the end of this study have been demonstrated through graphs and tables. Blockchain, an emerging technology benefits the new technological world from its features such as immutability, transparency, and decentralization. The diversity of its domain is from e-commerce, health care, real estate, and enterprise to NFT markets, voting and digital currency trading. The underlying blockchain features make auditing blockchain applications a challenging task. In this paper, we thoroughly analyze the general challenges faced in blockchain forensics, application-specific challenges, and challenges with respect to public and private blockchains. The aim of this paper is to highlight the challenges faced during the forensics of blockchain-based applications. For this, we took a healthcare system, introduced a contract vulnerability in it, and defined two scenarios for attack depending on that vulnerability. One that allows an attacker to make a malicious transaction directly and the other in which the attacker first gives itself access and then adds malicious transactions. The attacks are generated just to analyze the difficulty level of forensics in blockchain applications. To achieve our goal, we performed log analysis for both scenarios and specified the challenges faced during the analysis. Our experiment shows that due to some blockchain-specific features such as anonymity, identification of malicious entities in the system sometimes becomes a hectic challenge. This research benefits the auditors by highlighting the forensics challenges and auditing issues so they can work on these areas to identify the attackers and illegal data modifications accurately in blockchain applications. Energy security is among the top security concerns of the 21st century requiring technological answers. However, the technological innovations adopted often not only serve to ensure adequate energy access and stable flow of energy, but also foster specific visions of socio-economic and techno-political orders and security. This paper tweaks the analytical lens of sociotechnical imaginaries, in which desired futures are connected to social and technical elements in concrete cases by adding a focus on identity formation and ontological security to the analytical model. Zooming in on the Baltic Sea Region, the paper traces sociotechnical imaginaries tied to the desired future of energy sovereignty through coal and nuclear energy in Poland and the bright future of energy independence through a liquified natural gas terminal in Lithuania. Nationally embedded understandings of how (in)security can be managed through technological innovation and how the desired national energy visions can be attained in the process highlight the importance of ontological security concerns. In tracing those themes, the paper combines a historical view with developments since the mid-2010s in Polish and Lithuanian energy discourse and analyzes the mainstream energy security imaginaries as envisioned by political elites. The study draws on speeches of key political figures, official documents concerning energy planning as well as semi-structured interviews. The analysis highlights how the study of energy innovation in the Baltic Sea Region can contribute to the conversation between critical security studies and science and technology studies. The paper aims to critically analyse the development dichotomies and socio-ecological concerns inherent in a controversial megaproject in Kerala – the Semi High-Speed Rail Corridor, also known as the Silverline Project – through a political ecology lens. The mainstream discourses of development in an extractivist political economy focus on economic growth and technological advancement without a critical social and ecological security assessment. Megaprojects are presented as dream projects and symbols of modernity, even when fragmentation and degradation of socio-ecological systems are apparent. The paper explores the multiple strategies used by the State to legitimising the project, which includes overriding or diluting the regulatory framework for conservation, greenwashing, manipulative reductionism etc. It argues that an inclusive development discourse should go beyond perceiving environment and development as a binary opposition and thrive for a critical and reflexive conceptualisation and practice. The improvement of industrial Total Factor Productivity (TFP) is the basis for the high-quality development of China's economy. Sci-tech finance affects industrial TFP through screening and allocation mechanism, governance mechanism, and integration mechanism. Based on provincial panel data from 2009 to 2016, this paper constructs a comprehensive index of regional Sci-tech finance and explores the impact of Sci-tech finance on industrial TFP from two perspectives: differences in financial development levels and transmission paths. The results show that Sci-tech finance has a significant role in promoting the industrial TFP, but this promotion needs to meet certain financial development conditions. In high-level financial development areas, the promotion effect is significant. It is not linear. The effect is a threshold effect with the diminishing marginal efficiency. Sci-tech finance mainly promotes industrial TFP through boosting the industry's scientific and technological innovation capacity. Planning Support Systems (PSS) research has explored ways to improve PSS use and embeddedness. However, there is little knowledge of how unplanned changes during implementation impact outcomes. This paper answers the question, 'How can drift influence PSS implementation and use?' It applies the concept of drift (changes in new technology, user behaviour, and/or existing practice during ICT implementation) to explain how PSS users (GIS specialists, planners) initiate unplanned changes during implementation and use. Following a qualitative approach, we investigate a PSS implementation case study in Rwanda – the Spatial Development Framework (SDF) methodology – to establish the role of drift in PSS use and embeddedness. Our study reveals that a) user understanding and perception of PSS can initiate drift during implementation and use, and b) drift can influence outcomes of PSS use or embeddedness. The authors review the literature on last mile delivery logistics within commercial and humanitarian supply chains from 2010 to the end of 2021. The scope of the last mile, including last mile logistics, last mile distribution, and last-mile mile delivery, is covered. A unifying terminology of the major concepts in this field and a bibliometric analysis are provided. Based on the analysis, the authors further classify and discuss the literature into three clusters: humanitarian relief, commercial logistics, and emerging technologies. In the past years, human computer interaction (HCI) research and innovation have developed substantially, leading to a number of fruitful research topics. In this paper, we surveyed the HCI research and innovation in China from a 10-year perspective. We analyzed the popular research methodology and topics among Chinese researchers, including human modeling, user interface techniques, context awareness, user acceptance and performance, user experience design, human-AI interaction, HCI applications and social influences. We also conducted a bibliography analysis on the published papers in top-tier conferences and journals, which revealed a significant rising trend, and a generally broad distribution of research types. Moreover, we described typical applications and the industry influence of the research outcomes. Ecological civilization construction is an important dimension to achieve high-quality economic development. This paper evaluates the eco-efficiency improvement effect of China's ecological civilization pilot zone policy utilizing the synthetic control method (SCM) differences-in-differences method (DID) and examines the influence mechanism of ecological civilization pilot zones on eco-efficiency in the light of the environmental pollution penalty, green technological innovation, and environmental publicity and education. The study results indicate that the construction of the ecological civilization pilot zone policy has substantially boosted eco-efficiency in the pilot areas, with the strongest boosting effect on eco-efficiency in Fujian province, followed by Guizhou province, and not significantly on eco-efficiency in Jiangxi province. Further, this paper also reveals that the construction of ecological civilization pilot zones has effectively contributed to eco-efficiency through channels such as strengthening the environmental pollution penalty, stimulating green technological innovation, and broadening environmental publicity and education.
