This study explores the impact of farm households' social capital characteristics and local government policies on the selection of farmland transfer contracts in China's rural industrial revitalization context. Utilizing field research data from 1,979 households in ethnic areas of Hunan Province, this paper constructs an econometric model to assess how farm households' social capital and local governments' involvement in rural industrial revitalization influence farmland transfer contract selections. The findings indicate that, lacking government program support, farmers' social capital significantly affects contract type and duration, but not the rent. Specifically, farmers possessing extensive social capital prefer verbal and short-term contracts (coefficients of 0.525 and 0.643, significant at the 5% level), whereas their influence on rent (coefficient of 2.418, significant at the 5% level) manifests under government program support. These results challenge the conventional theory of farmland transfer contracts and offer substantial empirical support for the development of local government policies in rural industrial revitalization, underlining the critical role of government guidance and social capital in enhancing farmland transfer. In China, table tennis has always been one of the most popular sports, with small field restrictions and it is simple and fun to play. But what is unknown is that with China's major table tennis events thriving, the psychological pressure of table tennis players' training is also increasing. However, the existing training methods obviously do not pay enough attention to psychological training, and there is no complete system for psychological training. Although the current dynamic heart rate measurement method can play a certain role in the detection, there is still the disadvantage of low detection accuracy. The heart rate is an important sign of life, and the monitoring of the heart rate of table tennis players should be strengthened, reflecting the functional state of the athletes' heart, and facilitating the more intuitive adjustment of the psychological training method of athletes. The heart rate measurement method based on face recognition contains a plate content that is rich. Through deep learning face recognition, the heart rate measurement method has high calculation efficiency, can effectively eliminate the influence of other external environmental factors, can use video recording, and can use face recognition and physiological parameters' quantification to monitor athletes' heart rate changes in real time; the visible artificial intelligence auxiliary diagnosis potential is huge. To this end, this paper aims to provide effective suggestions for the psychological training of table tennis players with deep learning as the technical support. In response to this, the aim of this paper was to design a deep learning-based face recognition heart rate measurement method that judges the psychological fluctuations of athletes through changes in heart rate. We conducted a questionnaire survey with the table tennis players of the Hunan team as the object of investigation, so as to understand the source of the psychological pressure of athletes and make reasonable suggestions. The experimental results of this paper show that the heart rate error of the video heart rate measurement algorithm is within 3% in the calm state and within 4% in the post-exercise state. This can effectively measure psychological fluctuations, and through investigation and research, it can provide an effective method for the psychological training of table tennis players. To achieve the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, China promoted county-wide photovoltaic projects (CWPVs) in 2021. A large number of distributed photovoltaic (DPV) installations have expanded the scale of prosumer. It also brings the inequity problem of prosumer, distribution network system operator (DSO) and consumer--DSO and consumer bear the costs such as access cost and depreciation of stock investment caused by DPV access. Combined with China's current electricity tariff system and the promotion of photovoltaic scale development, this paper proposes a standby fee model based on the principle of "beneficiary apportionment". In this model, the standby fee mechanism for self-owned power plants is applied to DPV to reduce the implementation cost of the mechanism, and the principle of "beneficiary apportionment" is adopted to ensure the profitability of DPV. This paper takes the CWPV in Hunan Province, China as an example, calculates the standby fee under various electricity metering methods, and determines the most appropriate standby fee by considering factors such as output uncertainty of DPV. Accurately determining the timing and mechanism of metallogenesis of ore deposits is essential for developing a robust genetic model for their exploration. In this paper, we analyze the formation conditions of cassiterite in five major deposits of southern Hunan Province, one of the most important tungsten-tin (W-Sn) provinces in South China, using a combination of cathodoluminescence imaging, in situ U-Pb geochronology, and trace-element concentration data. In situ cassiterite U-Pb geochronology constrains the main period of Sn mineralization to between 155.4 and 142.0 Ma, demonstrating a temporal and genetic relationship to silicic intrusive magmatism in the same area. Three stages of magmatic activity and metallogenic evolution are recognized: (1) Early Paleozoic and Triassic: the initial enrichment stage of tungsten and tin; (2) Jurassic: the metasomatic mineralization stage; and (3) Cretaceous: the magmatic-hydrothermal superposition stage. The cassiterite in these deposits takes four forms, i.e., quartz vein-type, greisen-skarn-type, greisen-type, and granite-type, representing a progression characterized by the increasing content and decreasing range of variation of high field strength elements (HFSEs), and reflecting a general increase in the degree of evolution of the associated granites. Rare earth element (REE) concentrations suggest that precipitation of cassiterite was insensitive to the redox state of the fluid and that precipitation of cassiterite in the southern Hunan Sn deposits did not require a high-fO2 environment. The travel and tourism industry are often regarded as a promising business opportunity due to its rapid growth worldwide. Employment expansion, a broader economic foundation, population increase, social progress, and a renaissance in traditional arts are just some of the possible benefits of rural tourism in China. With unemployment in Hunan Province at an unprecedented level, their rural tourism industry is one area should be significantly considered. The Chinese government plan for promoting tourism may benefit from a greater responsibility for this industry. In order for tourism to play a significant role in China economic growth, the government needs to have effective and efficient governance of the environment. It is also important to raise awareness of the mindfulness issue so that sustainable tourism may place a stronger focus on mindfulness-based tourism products. This study highlights rural tourism, different types of rural tourism, and the positive effects rural tourism may have on local economies and national economic growth in the context of China 14th Five-Year Plan for 2021-2025 where China focuses on the effort to "open up the countryside," investing in rural regions with distinctive geographical or cultural characteristics in order to attract more tourists. The data and analysis presented in this paper are the result of an extensive literature research methodology that involved the use of an extensive number of published articles on the issue of rural tourism. Previous research on attitudes toward obesity has mainly focused on the effects of people's negative attitudes about obesity on others. However, it remains unclear whether people's explicit attitudes toward obesity may influence their own life satisfaction. This cross-sectional study investigated whether and how individuals' explicit negative attitudes toward obesity influence their own life satisfaction among Chinese adolescents. A total of 310 high school students from Hunan province, China, were invited to voluntarily complete a paper-and-pencil questionnaire, including the Attitudes Toward Obese Persons scale, the Fatness subscale of the Negative Physical Self Scale, and the Satisfaction With Life Scale. We also collected participants' self-reported body height and weight. The results revealed that adolescents with more negative explicit attitudes about obesity reported lower levels of life satisfaction, and that this relationship was mediated by their greater weight dissatisfaction. Additionally, weight status moderated the association between explicit attitudes toward obesity and one's life satisfaction, whereby more negative explicit attitudes toward obesity predicted lower life satisfaction in adolescents with a body mass index one standard deviation higher than the mean (21.00 + 3.35), but not for adolescents with a body mass index one standard deviation lower than the mean (21.00-3.35). China has an exceptional diversity in Begonia, holding the second largest number of described species in this genus at the national level. Many new taxa need to be explored and described. This paper reports two new species, Begonia ruchengensis (B. sect. Reichenheimia) and B. auritalata (B. sect. Platycentrum), from Hunan province and Guizhou province, respectively. Besides the detailed morphology description, color illustrations, and line drawings, the diagnoses of these two species distinguished from their allied taxa are provided. This research focuses on the governance of rural living environments in China from the perspective of "System-Life". The objective of improving rural living environments is to construct a beautiful countryside, which is an important part of China's rural revitalization strategy. Through a literature review, a field study, and quantitative analysis, this paper explores the tensions and interactions between local governments and social demand by investigating four elements of the village improvement program: the village's appearance, sewage treatment, domestic garbage disposal, and the sanitation of toilets. We also examine the interactions between the main participants involved in the governance of rural living environments, including the primary-level governments, village committees, and the villagers themselves. It was found that there is a path toward constructing a benign interaction between "system" and "life". In terms of "system", the primary-level governments play a decisive role in the implementation of policies, offering a creative interpretation and flexible implementation of a policy. From the perspective of "life", the village committee is the bridge between the primary-level governments and villagers. The villagers have their own understanding of policy and the logic of life. This probe leads us to suggest that primary-level governments need to respect the perceptions and priorities of villagers in order to improve the performance of this well-intentioned program. Digitizing ethnic villages through VR technology is helpful for putting limited resources into the most urgent protection projects at this stage. In this paper, Basha village in western Hunan of China is selected as the carrier, and VR technology is used to simulate its virtual village scene. In this paper, ArcGIS is used to show the distribution of villages, through SketchUp software, 3D modeling of the buildings in the village is carried out, which is imported into Lumion platform and optimized, and finally the VR scene of Basha village is established. Through professional analysis tools, accurate reduction scale, and rational analysis and decision-making, it can not only open up a new situation for the protection of national history and culture, but also better promote the construction and renewal of new countryside. This study aims to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of participants and potential participants in clinical trials toward electronic informed consent. We conducted a survey-based cross-sectional study in Hunan Province, China in March 2021. A total of 547 respondents were included in this study. All questions in an 8-item survey section assessing participants' knowledge of electronic informed consent received correct answers from at least 70% of participants. In terms of attitude scores, most participants (86.3%) believed that electronic informed consent is more convenient than the paper-based version, and more than half (51.2%) believed that electronic informed consent could completely replace the paper-based version. The rapid development of China's manufacturing industry has brought about environmental problems that have aroused people's attention to improving carbon emission efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. In this paper, 13 prefecture-level cities in Hunan Province from 2010 to 2020 were selected as research samples, and the coupling coordination degree model and super-efficiency slacks-based measure (SBM) model were used to calculate the level of integration of "two industries" (manufacturing and producer services, short for "TI") and the efficiency of carbon emissions. Then, hypotheses are established: The integration of TI can promote the improvement of carbon emission efficiency; The integration of TI promotes technological innovation; Technological innovation can promote carbon emission efficiency; Technological innovation is an intermediary in integrating TI affecting carbon emission efficiency. By using the fixed effect model and the mediation effect test method, we empirically analyze the influence of the integration of TI on carbon emission efficiency and the mediating role of technological innovation in this process. The conclusions are as follows: the integration of TI has a significant promoting effect on carbon emission efficiency; The integration of TI improves carbon emission efficiency by promoting technological innovation, and technological innovation bears part of the intermediary effect in the process of the impact of the integration of TI on carbon emission efficiency. This paper addresses urbanization in the context of China's efforts to meet its commitments regarding the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This paper focuses specifically on governmental policies to promote polycentricity, with multiple urban centers of a similar scale within metropolitan areas, rather than a traditional single, dominant central business district. Polycentric urban forms have the potential to reduce average commuting times, thereby impacting greenhouse gas emissions. Polycentricity may also enhance access to employment and other opportunities for marginalized households. To this end, we examine the nexus between emerging polycentric urbanization patterns in Chinese cities and modes of governance at the national and local levels. Changsha, in Hunan province, is selected as a case study to illuminate the issues. Our analysis shows that fiscal considerations and other national and local governance imperatives can play a crucial role in determining how urbanization evolves. While China is unique in many ways, there are also important commonalities with other countries in the global South that are experiencing rapid urbanization, so the insights generated here may be more broadly applicable. Academic discussion of traditional zinc-smelting technology in China has been hampered by a paucity of physical data recovered from early production sites. In recent years, however, the discovery of former zinc-smelting sites in the municipality of Chongqing in south-western China has provided important evidence from archaeological excavations that contribute to the study of this topic. Taking the smelting furnace found at the Linjiangerdui site in Zhong County as an example, this paper introduces and discusses the form, use and maintenance of the zinc-smelting furnace of the Ming Dynasty (AD 1368–1644), and makes a preliminary comparison with the smelting furnaces dating to the Qing Dynasty (AD 1636–1912) unearthed in Shizhu County and the mountainous Hunan Province in an attempt to elucidate the development and evolution of ancient Chinese zinc-smelting technology. This paper reports an application of uncertainty visualisation of a regional scale (1:50 000) 3D geological geometry model to be involved in GIS-based 3D mineral potential assessment of the Xiangxibei lead-zinc mineral concentration area in northwestern Hunan District, China. Three-dimensional (3D) geological modelling is a process of interpretation that combines a set of input measurements in geometry. Today, technology has become a necessary part of GIS-based deep prospecting. However, issues of sparse data and imperfect understanding exist in the process so that there are several uncertainties in 3D geological modelling. And these uncertainties are inevitably transmitted into the post-processing applications, such as model-based mineral resource assessment. Thus, in this paper, first, a big-data-based method was used to estimate the uncertainty of a 3D geological model; second, a group of expectations of geological geometry uncertainty were calculated and integrated into ore-bearing stratoisohypse modelling, which is one of the major favourable parameters of assessment for Lead-Zinc (Pb-Zn) deep prospectivity mapping in northwestern Hunan; and finally, prospecting targets were improved. Optimal project portfolio planning is a typical nonconvex, multiobjective, highly constrained, multitemporal coupling, and combinatorial optimization problem. This paper proposes a novel multistep iterative ranking learning method (MIRL) to solve this complex combinatorial optimization problem from massive infrastructure projects of smart grid. The optimal project portfolio planning problem of power grid is formulated as the optimization process of massive project priority sorting with an improved knapsack model. The proposed method dynamically optimizes the best infrastructure project combination for each round to maximize the economic, social, and security benefits without exceeding the annual investment limit. A pairwise-based ranking learning algorithm is used to mine the priority sorting law from massive historical combination data of power grid to initialize candidate project portfolio. In order to approach the optimal portfolio planning solution with the constraint satisfactions of project construction duration and electric load supplies, a heuristic greedy strategy is designed to search the solution dynamically for selecting the project having highest construction benefits iteratively. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by experiments with real-world project data of Hunan power grid in China, and experimental results show that the proposed MIRL can outperform other methods on investment efficiency, calculation time, and rationality of project construction period schedule. Building new industrial towns has become a popular strategy for the Chinese government, as part of its aim to disperse the population and create new concentrations of activity. However, relevant studies have shown that these development strategies often struggle to provide appropriate infrastructure and public services to residents. In this paper, we explore the case of Chenglingji new port area, which is an industrial new town in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. To understand the provision of public services in the area, we analyzed the construction of public service facilities using GIS software, while 939 questionnaires were distributed and collected from local residents and workers. The survey results confirm the low level of satisfaction with the livability of the area, and the lack and unevenness of public services to meet the needs of local residents and foreign workers. It further emphasizes that the provision of public services should be considered in the future planning of the Chenglingji new port area. In the past decade, more than 300 people have died per year on average due to mountain torrents in China. Mountain torrents mostly occur in ungauged small and medium-sized catchments, so it is difficult to maintain high accuracy of flood prediction. In order to solve the problem of the low accuracy of flood simulation in the ungauged areas, this paper studies the influence of different methods on the parameter regionalization of distributed hydrological model parameters in hilly areas of Hunan Province. According to the terrain, landform, soil and land use characteristics of each catchment, we use Shortest Distance, Attribute Similarity, Support Vector Regression, Generative Adversarial Networks, Classification and Regression Tree and Random Forest methods to create parameter regionalization schemes. In total, 426 floods of 25 catchments are selected to calibrate the model parameters, and 136 floods of 8 catchments are used for verification. The results showed that the average values of the Nash–Sutcliffe coefficients of each scheme were 0.58, 0.64, 0.60, 0.66, 0.61 and 0.68, and the worst values were 0.27, 0.31, 0.25, 0.43, 0.35 and 0.59. The random forest model is the most stable solution and significantly outperforms other methods. Using the random forest model to regionalize parameters can improve the accuracy of flood simulation in ungauged areas, which is of great significance for flash flood forecasting and early warning. This paper first proposes a European option pricing method for deposit insurance based on triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. In the proposed method, we take into account the randomness and fuzziness of bank asset value simultaneously, and hence, the method can adequately reflect the high uncertainty of bank asset value. This method fuzzifies the value of bank asset, resubmits it into the original deposit insurance option pricing model as a fuzzy random variable, and then gives an analytic formula of deposit insurance rates using a risk-neutral method. After this, we have also conducted a numerical analysis. In specific, we have obtained the premium interval and presented the static analysis of key parameters. Finally, seven small- and middle-sized banks in Hunan Province in China are used as examples to validate the proposed interval pricing model. The Black-Scholes option pricing model and Yoshida's triangular fuzzy model are also employed for comparison. The research results show that the interval rates obtained from the proposed European option pricing method for deposit insurance can better reflect the uncertainty of bank asset evaluation than the fixed rates obtained from the Black-Scholes option pricing model. As skilled talent is the core element in optimizing the industrial structure, clarifying the factors that influence the lack of skilled talent in the agricultural industry is essential. The lack of skilled talent in the agricultural industry is a complex problem. The author based this study on the push–pull theory and used the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (FSQCA) research method to explore the "joint effect" of the factors that affect the lack of skilled talents in the agricultural industry in 14 cities of Hunan Province. This paper found that indicators such as the rural industry status, rural medical level, agricultural and forestry financial investment, urbanization construction, regional economic development level, and local government officials were all presented under sufficient conditions. These influencing factors have a "combined effect" on the agricultural industry's lack of skilled talent. The rural industry status indicator was the core condition, appearing in all the configurations. This article's main marginal contribution is that it defined three conditional configurations for the lack of "present" agricultural skilled talents, and dependent configurations are consistent. Among the three conditional configurations, the "rural industry + economic construction and financial investment" configuration is the most powerful way to retain skilled agricultural talents. In addition, the causal relationship between the lack of "present" agricultural industry skilled talents and the lack of "absent" agricultural industry skilled talents are asymmetric. The primary task is to develop rural industries to solve the problem of the shortage of skilled talent in the agricultural industry. Additionally, then implement the 'industry+' combination policy. So the government must create related policies in the following areas: the supply of essential public services in rural areas, the economic construction of prefectures, the development of county urbanization, and the financial investment in agriculture, forestry, and water conservancy. Natural disasters have long disturbed people's normal lives. How to effectively identify and assess natural disaster-affected areas and further control network grievances is of great significance. This paper takes the floods in Hunan Province of China in 2017 as an example, based on the data sources of Sina Weibo, and combines text analysis and image analysis technology to define the disaster scope of natural disasters, and then uses sentimental analysis method and correlation analysis method to study the network public opinion in the disaster area. In this paper, the average accuracy and recall rate of the model which combines image analysis and text analysis to define the disaster area are 72.10% and 81.59% respectively, which effectively realizes the definition of flood disaster area in Hunan Province. In addition, this paper finds out the law of the development and change of network public opinion, and puts forward the opinions and suggestions on the determination of disaster area, the relief of disaster and the control of network public opinion. The scientific evaluation of agricultural informatization construction level has important theoretical and practical significance, especially with the development of "national rural informatization demonstration province construction pilot," and the establishment of a comprehensive evaluation of agricultural informatization results of the index system has become an urgent problem to develop China's agricultural informatization. This paper draws on relevant research results to build an index system for evaluating the performance of agricultural informatization in three dimensions: the external environment, the internal environment, and the operational effect of agricultural informatization, and the study uses SPSS software to conduct factor analysis and improve the constructed index system. Then the interval intuitionistic fuzzy mathematics is applied to construct the RAIM performance evaluation model, which is verified by Hunan Province, and on this basis, the improvement measures of rural agricultural information management construction are proposed. This paper examines long-term settlement expansion in western Hunan region of China and presents a case study of socio-cultural landscape transformation. We extract historical settlements from historical documents in the area's representative counties and outline their spatial distributions during the eighteenth century. Following these distributions, we then examine the influencing factors behind the expansion. We found that when compared with older settlements, new settlements were concentrated primarily on sloping, high-elevation fields rather than more level, lower-elevation fields. Multiple factors affected this settlement expansion. Topography strongly influenced settlement distribution, while policy shifts strongly influenced settlement expansion. Among these was a policy shift from prohibition to encouragement. Other contributing factors to settlement expansion included population growth, immigration, the introduction of new crops, improved farming techniques, and farmland water conservation facilities, which likely benefited from temperature rises. Furthermore, a portion of the indigenous people gradually transitioned into permanent agriculture from slash-and-burn farming, possibly resulting in increased settlement activities. Overall, this study makes important contributions to understanding human impacts on mountainous environments of the past, highlighting patterns of historical-geographical continuity and change over time. Based on the geographic information system (GIS) software and the application of the black carbon (BC) and fine particulate matter ( PM 2.5 ) ratio method, this paper analyzed and calculated the national BC distribution from 2015 to 2017 and evaluated the national human exposure to BC. The results showed that from 2015 to 2017, 2/3 of the national land area and nearly half of the population were exposed to 1–3 μ g / m 3 , and the area and population exposed to a concentration less than 2 μ g / m 3 increased yearly, while the area and population exposed to a concentration higher than 9 μ g / m 3 decreased yearly. The estimated economic loss showed that 77.3% of the targeted districts or counties claimed a loss per square kilometer of 50 million Chinese Yuan (CNY) or less from the perspective of annual changes, and districts and counties in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Hunan with annual losses between 50 and 500 million CNY showed an increasing trend. Under the background of the promotion of the Olympic effect of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the in-depth implementation of the national ice and snow industry's strategy of "expanding from the south to the west and expanding from the east," China's ice and snow industry has ushered in a new period of development. By applying literature and logical analysis, etc., with in-depth analysis of various subjective and objective supplies for the integration of China's ice-snow industry and ecocultural tourism in Hunan Province, it is considered to be driven by the bidding and preparation effect of Beijing Winter Olympic Games in 2022. The supply capacity of ice-snow industry venues, professional facilities, and public services are gradually strengthened, and the soft power of construction of the ice-snow industry needs to be coordinated and improved. To ensure the safe construction of bridge pile foundation in karst area, it is necessary to accurately detect the unfavorable geological conditions such as karst cave and soft layer before excavation. In this paper, the transient electromagnetic method is used to probe the geological conditions near the pile Y1 of an interworking main bridge in China's Hunan Province. By arranging 5 measuring lines at the pile Y1, the voltage variation laws of 21 monitoring points on each measuring line are obtained, and the resistivity variation cloud maps at the measuring line positions are inversed. The results show that the voltage signals at line 1 and line 5 are obviously abnormal, and the resistivity varies greatly within 50 m underground depth, which indicates that there may be adverse geological conditions such as karst cave and carbonaceous limestone interlayer. Further, through on-site hole digging and sampling, it is found that the slag sample in the area above 50 m of the stratum of pile Y1 is wet, and the slag sample below 50 m is dry without argillaceous interlayer, which verifies the effectiveness of transient electromagnetic detection method. Because the transient electromagnetic detection technology does not need drilling and the detection process is convenient, it may provide a new means for quickly detecting the integrity of the bearing layer of bored cast-in-place pile in bridge construction. Family farms are an important part of rural revitalization in China. Strengthening credit support for family farms is of great significance for increasing family farm income. This paper takes 1895 demonstrative family farms in Hunan Province as an example and proposes research hypotheses based on the theoretical analysis of the income growth effect of family farm credit. Based on the Cobb–Douglas theory, the Tobit model is used to make an empirical analysis of the income-increasing effect of family farms. And, we can add explanatory variables and QTE quantile effect model for testing. The results show that strengthening family farm credit support is conducive to increasing family farm income, and the coef. is 0.428. Family farm credit support is positively correlated with its total operating income. The more credit support for a family farm receives, the higher its total operating income. Mineral system modeling approach is useful for assessing the likelihood of occurrences of a type of mineral deposit, which are described using two characteristics: spatial scales modeling and relevant geochemical processes. Possible spatial scales include the craton, region, district, and deposit scales. At each scale, geological modeling is an important aid to exhibit favorable features of mineralization at two-dimension (2D) and three-dimension (3D). Commonly, 3D geometry can be used to restructure geological anomaly at deposit and district/camp scales for quantitative mineral resources assessment. However, they are sensitive to input datasets. Thus, in a sense, the reliability of a 3D geological model depends on how much data have been collected at both ground surface and depth. In addition, the components of dataset also constrain what geological modeling method can be used. In this paper, dynamic updatability is considered as one of the metrics to assess 3D geological modeling methods. This paper discusses different 3D geological modeling processes and compares the ease ability to update. A case study was conducted to analyze the ore-bearing formations and structure of a potential Mississippi valley-type (MVT) Pb–Zn deposit in the Huayuan–Malichang District, Hunan Province, China. The contributions of this study include (1) analyzing what kinds of datasets must be collected for geological modeling at deposit and district scales; (2) the use of multiple 3D modeling processes; and (3) comparing metric what updatability between different 3D modeling processes is. This paper presents a list of the species, the host plants and distribution of eriophyoid mites on bamboo in the world. Seventy-two eriophyoid species from 32 genera, associated with bamboo species from 13 genera, are listed. Twelve of the reported species belong to Diptilomiopidae and 60 to Eriophyidae. Two new species of eriophyoid mites on bamboo from Yunnan and Hunan Provinces of China are described and illustrated: Calacarus bambusissp. nov. on Bambusa sp. (Poaceae) and Tetra tessellasp. nov. on Indocalamus tessellatus (Munro) Keng f. (Poaceae). Both species are vagrants on leaf surfaces, causing no apparent damage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper critically engages with dynamics of the Chinese food safety governance infrastructure following the melamine crisis. It presents a qualitative analysis of 16 in-depth stakeholder interviews in Hunan, Hubei, and Henan. We reveal tensions between a segmented model of governance and a centralized model, between a centralized top-down model and stakeholder participation, and between a public model and a private, decentral market where corporate reputation must result in transparency and trust. Stakeholders also see gaps between ideals of inclusive, transparent, and participatory governance, and effective problem-solving. The reforming and opening-up has brought about the rapid development of China's economy, greatly improved the living standards of rural residents, and also caused the destruction of the rural ecological environment. Due to the backward production technology and pollution control technology, many township enterprises discharge excessive pollutants, and excessive application of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agricultural production causes serious agricultural non-point source pollution. These pollution sources that cannot be effectively controlled cause a large number of water and land resource function decline. Not only the loss of agricultural production, but they also bring hidden danger to the survival of many rural residents. Taking Xinxiang city of Hunan province as an example, this paper selects 28 indicators and mainly uses AHP, entropy weight method, and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate and analyze the development level of rural ecological environment. • Phlebiopsis xuefengensis J. Zou, sp. nov. the first record of Phlebiopsis Jülich fungi from plant endophytes. • The first novel fungal species isolated from Gastrodia elata Blume. Phlebiopsis is a genus of poroid crust fungi belong to the family Phanerochaetaceae. The genus contains 19 species, which show a widespread distribution. In this paper, a strain of Phlebiopsis sp., named WS01, was isolated from tubers of Gastrodia elata collected in southern China. The endophytic fungus WS01 bearing fruiting-body was cultivated successfully in the fruiting body media. The characterized strain, in hyphae of the hymenium with colorless walls and cystidia lacking revealed that it morphologically differs from other Phlebiopsis species. A combined dataset of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), the large subunit regions of nuclear ribosomal RNA gene (LSU) and RNA polymerase II largest subunit gene (rpb 1) was used to confirm the phylogenetic placement of this species, and phylogenetic analyses were carried out with maximum likelihood and bayesian inference methods. The results provide evidence that the species represents a new member of the Phlebiopsis clade in the family Phanerochaetaceae, in which the new species formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support (100% ML, 1.00 BPP) and then grouped with P. pilatii. According to a signature sequence for a new species, the strain is, therefore, proposed as Phlebiopsis xuefengensis sp. nov. In this paper, two new species of Fagineura are described and illustrated, F. brevicornis sp. nov. collected in Hubei Province and F. longitangia sp. nov. collected in Hunan Province from China. Risk assessment and management of an individual landslide is the focus and difficulty. This paper analyzes the landslide losses in China from 1995 to 2018, combined with the ALARP approach, to research the risk acceptable model of landslide in China. Meanwhile, the Shiyantan landslide in Mayang county of Hunan Province is exemplified to quantitatively calculate the landslide risks under different conditions, and based on the risk acceptance level to judge whether the risk value is acceptable. The results show that the individual life risk acceptable criteria for Chinese landslide is 5.36 × 10−6/a, the upper and lower limits of the societal life risk (F-N curve) are 10−7/a and 10−8/a, the societal economic risk (F-D curve) are 10−1/a and 10−3/a. In addition, for the risk assessment of Shiyantan landslide, it is shown that the landslide may be damaged under extreme rainfall conditions. Its economic risk is tolerable risk and life risk is unacceptable risk. It is urgent to formulate relevant measures to mitigate the risk. Caledonian orogeny is another important tectonic event in South China Block after the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent. With a view to constrain the tectonic evolution and proto–basin in South China, this paper reports the geochemical and zircon U‐Pb dating data of the Ordovician strata in central Hunan, South China. Geochemical features and paleocurrent directions suggest that the lower Ordovician deposited in a passive continental margin basin with a provenance of quartzose components and showing an affinity with the Yangtze Block. U‐Pb age data for 260 detrital zircons from upper Ordovician identify three major age populations as: 900–1200 Ma, 1400–1800 Ma and 2400–2700 Ma. The detrital zircon age spectrum as well as the paleocurrent directions suggest that upper Ordovician deposited in a foreland basin and showing a close affinity with the Cathaysia Block. It is also suggest that the lower Ordovician continuously accepted the mineral from the Yangtze Block, whereas the provenance of the upper Ordovician sedimentary basin changed from the Yangtze Block to the Cathaysia Block. This change implies a tectonic movement, which caused the transformation of the proto–basin in the Hunan area in SCB from passive continental margin basin to foreland basin probably took place during late Ordovician. This fact also demonstrate that the Caledonian orogeny in South China Block began no later than 453 Ma, and a new crustal evolution model is proposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Shen Congwen (1902-1988) was a high-profile modern Chinese writer, and one of the most discussed Chinese writers within and outside China. For his whole life, he considered himself a "countryman", different from his contemporary writers, and he employed his regional background to his advantage. His attention on the Miao ethnic culture in his home region, West Hunan Province, was constant. In the first half of the twentieth century, while the cities of China started to move towards modernity, the Miao people in West Hunan Province remained relatively primitive and marginalized. With his re-imagination and possible over-romanticism of the marginalized Miao culture, Shen became one of the most unique modern Chinese writers. This kind of marginalization in both folk music and literature clashed with modern China's interest and need to revitalize its society. This paper will argue that, with the application of psychoanalytical and cultural anthropological theories, the folk music of a minority group that was incomprehensible to mainstream modern China exactly brought out the "marginally" modernist quality of Shen Congwen's literary works. Schistosomiasis japonica is an ancient parasitic disease that has severely impacted human health causing a substantial disease burden not only to the Chinese people but also residents of other countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia and, before the 1970s, Japan. Since the founding of the new People's Republic of China (P. R. China), effective control strategies have been implemented with the result that the prevalence of schistosomiasis japonica has decreased markedly in the past 70 years. Historically, the Dongting Lake region in Hunan province is recognised as one of the most highly endemic for schistosomiasis in the P.R. China. The area is characterized by vast marshlands outside the lake embankments and, until recently, the presence of large numbers of domestic animals such as bovines, goats and sheep that can act as reservoir hosts for Schistosoma japonicum. Considerable social, economic and environmental changes have expanded the Oncomelania hupensis hupensis intermediate snail host areas in the Dongting lake region increasing the potential for both the emergence of new hot spots for schistosomiasis transmission, and for its re-emergence in areas where infection is currently under control. In this paper, we review the history, the current endemic status of schistosomiasis and the control strategies in operation in the Dongting Lake region. We also explore epidemiological factors contributing to S. japonicum transmission and highlight key research findings from studies undertaken on schistosomiasis mainly in Hunan but also other endemic Chinese provinces over the past 10 years. We also consider the implications of these research findings on current and future approaches that can lead to the sustainable integrated control and final elimination of schistosomiasis from the P. The process of urbanization promotes the development of economy and society, and also brings great pressure to the environment. In order to better understand the harmonious and interactive relationship between environment and urbanization, by selecting 13 cities in Hunan province of China as cases, this paper establishes a correlation model and a comprehensive evaluation system, uses entropy weight method to weight the index, the coupling coordination model to analyze the coupling coordination relationships empirically, and gray prediction model to predict the trend and make corresponding decision recommendations. The results show with novelty that the overall performances of environment and urbanization for the 13 cities in Hunan province have similarities, the coupling coordination degrees are mild with slight fluctuations, and the next years will keep the similar trends. However, the coupling coordination development is unbalanced with the coupling degree of the east higher than that of the west; therefore, corresponding measures for better environmental governance and urban planning need to be taken in different cities. This paper investigates the extended uses of a Wugang Xiang classifier di 45 beyond the referential domain, specifically its attitudinal uses. Using conversational data from Wugang Xiang, a Sinitic variety spoken in south-eastern Hunan province in China, we first examine the uses of di 45 within the referential domain, namely, expressing a quantity of small amount and instantiating a noun. We then focus on the attitudinal uses of three types of di 45 constructions, namely, relational [N+ di 45 +N], [ di 45 +N], and [ di 45 +DEM+CL+N] constructions. Our analysis indicates that di 45 in Wugang Xiang has fully pragmatized into an attitudinal marker in [ di 45 +DEM+CL+N] constructions. We show that the attitudinal function of di 45 is induced by one or more of the following factors: (i) the 'trivialness' reading inherent in the original use of di 45 as a quantifying classifier, (ii) the 'vagueness' reading that emerges when di 45 is associated with indefinite referents, and (iii) the 'detachment' effect which surfaces when di 45 is associated with a referent that is obviously definite but with the demonstrative deliberately elided to downgrade potential face-threats to both speaker and others. Yali College, a four-year institution operating under the aegis of Yale University, offered a US-style undergraduate education in China's Hunan province from 1914 to 1927. It developed a robust curriculum and an impressive physical plant but collapsed after a little more than a decade. This paper, drawing on new archival research, focuses on the circumstances leading to that collapse. It argues that a deep divide emerged over Yali's form and function, pitting modernisers at the institution's helm against its tradition-minded faculty and trustees, eventually crippling the college. The mafic igneous activities in the late Triassic play an important role in the tectonic evolution of the South China Block (SCB). In this paper, relevant data of the bojites in Yajiangqiao area, eastern Hunan Province, South China were provided, including zircon U–Pb ages, whole‐rock geochemical data, Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic data, and zircon Hf isotope data. These data indicate that the bojites were crystallized at ~ 215.7 Ma, and thus are coeval with biotite monzonitic granites of Yajiangqiao pluton. The bojite samples feature a low SiO2 content of 48.84–49.94 wt%, a low ALK (K2O + Na2O) content of 5.13–6.13 wt%, a relatively high Al2O3 content of 17.64–21.22 wt%, a moderate MgO content of 4.32–7.07 wt%, and a moderate FeOT content of 5.66–7.33 wt%. In addition, the samples have a total rare earth element (REE) content of 108–163 ppm. They display right‐declined REE patterns, enriched in light rare earth elements and large‐ion lithophile elements (such as Rb, K, Th, and U) and depleted in high field strength elements (such as Nb, Ta, P, and Ti). All the samples have homogeneous Sr–Nd–Pb and zircon Hf isotopic compositions, with the (87Sr/86Sr)i ratio varying from 0.708 202 to 0.709 515, (143Nd/144Nd)i ratio from 0.512 156 to 0.512 229, (206Pb/204Pb)t ratio from 18.185 to 18.264, (207Pb/204Pb)t ratio from 15.667 to 15.672, (208Pb/204Pb)t ratio from 38.510 to 38.587, and initial 176Hf/177Hf ratio ranging from 0.282 428 to 0.282 530. Meanwhile, the calculated εNd(t) and εHf(t) values range from −4.0 to −2.6 and from −7.9 to −4.1, respectively, with two‐stage Nd model ages of 1.20–1.32 Ga and two‐stage Hf model ages of 1.35–1.56 Ga, respectively. As indicated by geochemical data, the primitive magmas of the bojites in Yajiangqiao area were derived from lithospheric mantle in post‐collisional extensional environment, which underwent low‐degree partial melting (1–5 %) of spinel‐garnet lherzolites (spinel > garnet) and was subjected to metasomatism of slab‐derived fluids. Furthermore, it can be concluded from these data and previous data that the SCB was transformed from syn‐collisional compression to post‐collisional extension in the late Triassic (~ 234 Ma) and the post‐collisional extension lasted until 215 Ma. Dynamic modulus of elasticity and damping ratio are two important parameters of dynamic properties of soil. These two parameters were extensively studied in the laboratory. However, there has been little research on these two parameters of the unsaturated red clay which is located in the southwest of Hunan, China. With the rapid development of high-speed railway in China, it is urgent to identify the dynamic properties of the unsaturated red clay to provide reference for the civil engineering industry. In this paper, DDS-70, an electromagnetic type dynamic tri-axial testing system, was used to study the effects of water content, dry density, confining pressure, over-consolidation ratio and loading frequency on dynamic elastic modulus and damping ratio of unsaturated red clay. The result shows that within the phase of small strain the influences of water content, dry density, confining pressure, over-consolidation ratio and loading frequency on dynamic modulus of elasticity are obvious. Dynamic modulus of elasticity increases with the increase of dry density, confining pressure and over-consolidation ratio under the same strain, whereas dynamic modulus of elasticity decreases with the increase of water content and loading frequency. Moreover, the effects of these factors on damping ratio are also significant during the phase of small strain. With the increase of strain, damping ratio increases with the decrease of dry density, confining pressure and over-consolidation ratio under the same dynamic strain. There is no clear relationship between damping ratio and loading frequency. It is concluded that the influence of above factors on the dynamic modulus of elasticity and damping ratio is significant. Titanosauriform sauropod dinosaurs were once considered rare in the Upper Cretaceous of Asia, but a number of titanosauriforms from this stratigraphic interval have been discovered in China in recent years. In fact, all adequately known Cretaceous Asian sauropods are titanosauriforms, but only a few have been well studied, lending significance to any new anatomical information that can be extracted from Asia’s Cretaceous sauropod record. Here we give a detailed description of some titanosauriform bones recovered recently from the Upper Cretaceous Daijiaping Formation of Tianyuan County, Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, southern China. The occurrence of this material in Hunan increases the known geographic range of titanosauriforms in eastern Asia. Although all of the specimens discussed in this paper can be assigned to Titanosauriformes at least tentatively, some bones display a limited number of features that are more typical of basal sauropods and/or derived diplodocoids, suggesting complex patterns of character evolution within Neosauropoda. Centralized vs. decentralized sewage treatment is one of the key issues in the planning of rural sewage treatment (RST) in China due to the country's diverse regional characteristics. There are very limited comprehensive evaluation models for selecting regionally suitable schemes and facilities, particularly for national or provisional scale planning. As a scenario-based multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) issue, this paper develops a novel RST suitability evaluation model by integrating the multi-attribute analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS). The suitability evaluation model sets up 3 small-centralized and 4 decentralized RST facilities as candidates and includes 12 evaluation indicators that cover economic cost, life cycle environmental impacts, technical features and operations management. Eight generic scenarios are classified for Chinese rural areas based on differences in three major characteristic factors, i.e., population density (PD), the economic development level (EDL), and topographic slope (TS). The universal evaluation results show that a centralized sewage treatment scheme is more suitable for areas with a high PD/high EDL/low TS, while a decentralized scheme is more suitable for areas with a low PD/low EDL/high TS. Sensitivity analysis shows that in regions with a high PD/low EDL, the indicator weight of the construction investment cost in the model has a great influence on the facility suitability ranking. However, in regions with a high PD/high EDL, the ranking is the most sensitive to the indicator weights of the global warming potential and sewage treatment effect. Furthermore, as a spatial decision issue, an RST suitability map of Hunan Province in China is produced at the county level of resolution, and the map is generally consistent with our field knowledge of several counties in Hunan Province. The Permian-Triassic transitional interval exposed well at Kangjiaping section, northwestern Hunan, South China, contains microbialites, oolitic and oncolitic limestones intercalated with vermiculate micritic limestones in the Lower Triassic overlying the uppermost Permian bioclastic limestones, which provides an excellent opportunity to study the environmental changes after the end-Permian mass extinction (EPME) and the origins and environmental significance of these various anomalous sediments. In this paper, we describe in detail the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of these anomalous sediments, together with the reconstruction of the marine environment after the EPME. The continental margin weathering was significantly enhanced after the EPME, indicated by the higher concentrations of terrigenous minerals, Th, Sc, Sr, and rare earth elements in the Lower Triassic carbonates than in the uppermost Permian bioclastic limestones. Indicators such as V/(V + Ni) and Ni/Co ratios suggest that the oxygen content of shallow seawater significantly decreased after the EPME. While, most samples from the Kangjiaping section preserve a negative cerium anomaly, indicating the shallow seawater was still oxygenated both before and after the EPME. In addition, the abnormally rapid carbonate precipitation rate indicates a supersaturation state with respect to calcium carbonate in the shallow seawater after the EPME, but the depth and salinity of seawater and climate indicated by different microfacies are still different. Under the setting of a rapid transgression after the EPME, the microbialites first deposited on the platform with the exclusion of grazers at the beginning of the Early Triassic, followed by the oncolites formed when the climate turned humid with a relative sea-level rise. The oolites were primarily deposited in an arid climate with a relative sea-level fall, and the salinity and hydrodynamics of seawater controlled the ooids' grain sizes. In contrast, the (vermiculate) micritic limestones were mainly formed in a humid climate with a relative sea-level rising and more terrigenous inputs. This paper studies the quantitative assessment of the hydrological alterations in the hydrological regimes of the Erdu River caused by the Liujiaping hydropower station. Diurnal streamflow data between the time intervals from 1967-2013 were obtained from the Hengbanqiao station. The histogram comparison approach (HCA) and improved overall degree of hydrological alteration with new classification were used for the assessment. The hydrologic regime alteration was computed by the IHA (indicator of hydrological alteration) indices. As per the improved classification, three indices were altered at low degrees, seven -indices were altered at moderate degrees, eleven indices were altered at high degree and ten indices were altered at severe degree. The overall and improved overall degree of hydrological alteration for the Hengbanqiao station is 72% and 80.49% respectively, suggesting a high and severe degree of alteration respectively. The alteration degree of every IHA indices ranged from 32.29% to 100%. This shows that the current operation mode of Liujiaping hydropower station has severely deteriorated eco-hydrological regimes of the downstream area. Hence, there is an immediate need to operate the reservoir taking into consideration the ecological needs of the downstream areas, in order to preserve the river-ecology of the Erdu River. As a form of organized crime, pyramid scheme has brought huge economic losses to many countries, especially China, and caused serious social problems. How to deeply analyze the structure of pyramid scheme organizations is a necessary topic to explore and combat pyramid scheme organizations. Social network analysis is an effective method to study organized crime. Among them, the motif and exponential random graph models are effective tools for studying organizational microstructure, endogenous process. For the first time, this paper uses the social network analysis to study the interpersonal relationship network of a specific pyramid scheme organization, the typical case of "5.03" in Hunan Province was taken as the research object, and the above model was used for modeling analysis. The results show that the interpersonal relationship network has a sparse density. The microstructure is not a pyramid structure that is generally considered, but presents more ternary closures. Cross-community links, cross-level links between core employees and surrounding employees are less. The pyramid scheme network of interpersonal relationships has obvious homogeneity characteristics. Solution regeneration of the heat-source tower is significant to guarantee the normal operation of the heat-source tower. Mechanical vapor recompression system is an efficient system for evaporation of solution. In this paper, mechanical vapor recompression system is applied to regenerate solution of heat-source tower. To clarify the merits of mechanical vapor recompression solution regeneration system, several typical solution regeneration systems are modelled. As a result, mechanical vapor recompression shows 35.7%, 73.5% and 91.2% energy saving compared to air-driven heat pump, three-effect evaporating system, and single effect evaporating system, respectively. Furthermore, a heat-source tower heat pump with solution generation system is installed in a typical building in Yangtze river region. The whole heating season performance is simulated to find the effects of different solution regeneration system on the whole heat pump system. As a conclusion, the seasonal coefficient of performance of heat pump is decreased 1.6% by mechanical vapor recompression regeneration system. Comparatively, the seasonal coefficient of performance of heat pump is decreased 2.6%, 4.2% and 10.0% by air-driven heat pump, three-effect evaporating system, and single effect evaporating system, respectively.Practical application: Solution regeneration systems for heat-source tower heat pump systems have been applied in building projects especially in hot summer and cold winter zone in China based on previous investigation. A heat-source tower heat pump system combined with heat pump solution regeneration system has been applied in an office building in Changsha, Hunan Province in China. And its practical operation energy consumption has been reduced obviously compared with traditional single effect evaporation system. Therefore, it is of vital importance to demonstrate the operating performance of different solution regeneration systems applied in heat-source tower heat pump systems in building.
