The article focuses on the suggestion for academic tutors to start their comments on students' work with a positive note and then make no more than three constructive suggestions for improvement. According to Mike Webb, course leader at Worcester University, beginning feedback with negative comments can result in students getting depressed or dropping out of their course. He recommended tutors to let students choose their preferred types of feedback at the start of the course.
