RNA modifications play an important role in actively controlling recently created formation in cellular regulation mechanisms, which link them to gene expression and protein. The RNA modifications have numerous alterations, presenting broad glimpses of RNA's operations and character. The modification process by the TET enzyme oxidation is the crucial change associated with cytosine hydroxymethylation. The effect of CR is an alteration in specific biochemical ways of the organism, such as gene expression and epigenetic alterations. Traditional laboratory systems that identify 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) samples are expensive and time-consuming compared to other methods. To address this challenge, the paper proposed XGB5hmC, a machine learning algorithm based on a robust gradient boosting algorithm (XGBoost), with different residue based formulation methods to identify 5hmC samples. Their results were amalgamated, and six different frequency residue based encoding features were fused to form a hybrid vector in order to enhance model discrimination capabilities. In addition, the proposed model incorporates SHAP (Shapley Additive Explanations) based feature selection to demonstrate model interpretability by highlighting the high contributory features. Among the applied machine learning algorithms, the XGBoost ensemble model using the tenfold cross-validation test achieved improved results than existing state-of-the-art models. Our model reported an accuracy of 89.97%, sensitivity of 87.78%, specificity of 94.45%, F1-score of 0.8934%, and MCC of 0.8764%. This paper presents an analysis of trunk movement in women with postnatal low back pain using machine learning techniques. The study aims to identify the most important features related to low back pain and to develop accurate models for predicting low back pain. Machine learning approaches showed promise for analyzing biomechanical factors related to postnatal low back pain (LBP). This study applied regression and classification algorithms to the trunk movement proposed dataset from 100 postpartum women, 50 with LBP and 50 without. The Optimized optuna Regressor achieved the best regression performance with a mean squared error (MSE) of 0.000273, mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.0039, and R2 score of 0.9968. In classification, the Basic CNN and Random Forest Classifier both attained near-perfect accuracy of 1.0, the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 1.0, precision of 1.0, recall of 1.0, and F1-score of 1.0, outperforming other models. Key predictive features included pain (correlation of -0.732 with flexion range of motion), range of motion measures (flexion and extension correlation of 0.662), and average movements (correlation of 0.957 with flexion). Feature selection consistently identified pain, flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and average movement as influential across methods. While limited to this initial dataset and constrained by generalizability, machine learning offered quantitative insight. Models accurately regressed (MSE < 0.01, R2 > 0.95) and classified (accuracy > 0.94) trunk biomechanics distinguishing LBP. Incorporating additional demographic, clinical, and patient-reported factors may enhance individualized risk prediction and treatment personalization. This preliminary application of advanced analytics supported machine learning's potential utility for both LBP risk determination and outcome improvement. Genetic and agronomic advances consistently lead to an annual increase in global barley yield. Since abiotic stresses (physical environmental factors that negatively affect plant growth) reduce barley yield, it is necessary to predict barley resistance. Artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) models are new and powerful tools for predicting product resilience. Considering the research gap in the use of molecular markers in predicting abiotic stresses, this paper introduces a new approach called GenPhenML that combines molecular markers and phenotypic traits to predict the resistance of barley genotypes to drought and salinity stresses by ML models. GenPhenML uses feature selection algorithms to determine the most important molecular markers. It then identifies the best model that predicts atmospheric resistance with lower MAE, RMSE, and higher R2. The results showed that GenPhenML with a neural network model predicted the salinity stress resistance score with MAE, RMSE and R2 values of 0.1206, 0.0308 and 0.9995, respectively. Also, the NN model predicted drought stress scores with MAE, RMSE and R2 values of 0.0727, 0.0105 and 0.9999, respectively. The GenPhenML approach was also used to classify barley genotypes as resistant and stress-sensitive. Effective management of dementia requires the timely detection of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). This paper introduces a multi-objective optimization approach for selecting EEG channels (and features) for the purpose of detecting MCI. Firstly, each EEG signal from each channel is decomposed into subbands using either variational mode decomposition (VMD) or discrete wavelet transform (DWT). A feature is then extracted from each subband using one of the following measures: standard deviation, interquartile range, band power, Teager energy, Katz's and Higuchi's fractal dimensions, Shannon entropy, sure entropy, or threshold entropy. Different machine learning techniques are used to classify the features of MCI cases from those of healthy controls. The classifier's performance is validated using leave-one-subject-out (LOSO) cross-validation (CV). The non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA)-II is designed with the aim of minimizing the number of EEG channels (or features) and maximizing classification accuracy. The performance is evaluated using a publicly available online dataset containing EEGs from 19 channels recorded from 24 participants. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in performance when utilizing the NSGA-II algorithm. By selecting only a few appropriate EEG channels, the LOSO CV-based results show a significant improvement compared to using all 19 channels. Additionally, the outcomes indicate that accuracy can be further improved by selecting suitable features from different channels. For instance, by combining VMD and Teager energy, the SVM accuracy obtained using all channels is 74.24%. Interestingly, when only five channels are selected using NSGA-II, the accuracy increases to 91.56%. The accuracy is further improved to 95.28% when using only 8 features selected from 7 channels. This demonstrates that by choosing informative features or channels while excluding noisy or irrelevant information, the impact of noise is reduced, resulting in improved accuracy. These promising findings indicate that, with a limited number of channels and features, accurate diagnosis of MCI is achievable, which opens the door for its application in clinical practice. The challenge of developing an Android malware detection framework that can identify malware in real-world apps is difficult for academicians and researchers. The vulnerability lies in the permission model of Android. Therefore, it has attracted the attention of various researchers to develop an Android malware detection model using permission or a set of permissions. Academicians and researchers have used all extracted features in previous studies, resulting in overburdening while creating malware detection models. But, the effectiveness of the machine learning model depends on the relevant features, which help in reducing the value of misclassification errors and have excellent discriminative power. A feature selection framework is proposed in this research paper that helps in selecting the relevant features. In the first stage of the proposed framework, t-test, and univariate logistic regression are implemented on our collected feature data set to classify their capacity for detecting malware. Multivariate linear regression stepwise forward selection and correlation analysis are implemented in the second stage to evaluate the correctness of the features selected in the first stage. Furthermore, the resulting features are used as input in the development of malware detection models using three ensemble methods and a neural network with six different machine-learning algorithms. The developed models' performance is compared using two performance parameters: F-measure and Accuracy. The experiment is performed by using half a million different Android apps. The empirical findings reveal that malware detection model developed using features selected by implementing proposed feature selection framework achieved higher detection rate as compared to the model developed using all extracted features data set. Further, when compared to previously developed frameworks or methodologies, the experimental results indicates that model developed in this study achieved an accuracy of 98.8%. Mental workload refers to the cognitive effort required to perform tasks, and it is an important factor in various fields, including system design, clinical medicine, and industrial applications. In this paper, we propose innovative methods to assess mental workload from EEG data that use effective brain connectivity for the purpose of extracting features, a hierarchical feature selection algorithm to select the most significant features, and finally machine learning models. We have used the Simultaneous Task EEG Workload (STEW) dataset, an open-access collection of raw EEG data from 48 subjects. We extracted brain-effective connectivities by the direct directed transfer function and then selected the top 30 connectivities for each standard frequency band. Then we applied three feature selection algorithms (forward feature selection, Relief-F, and minimum-redundancy-maximum-relevance) on the top 150 features from all frequencies. Finally, we applied sevenfold cross-validation on four machine learning models (support vector machine (SVM), linear discriminant analysis, random forest, and decision tree). The results revealed that SVM as the machine learning model and forward feature selection as the feature selection method work better than others and could classify the mental workload levels with accuracy equal to 89.53% (± 1.36). Feature selection is a critical component of machine learning and data mining to remove redundant and irrelevant features from a dataset. The Chimp Optimization Algorithm (CHoA) is widely applicable to various optimization problems due to its low number of parameters and fast convergence rate. However, CHoA has a weak exploration capability and tends to fall into local optimal solutions in solving the feature selection process, leading to ineffective removal of irrelevant and redundant features. To solve this problem, this paper proposes the Enhanced Chimp Hierarchy Optimization Algorithm for adaptive lens imaging (ALI-CHoASH) for searching the optimal classification problems for the optimal subset of features. Specifically, to enhance the exploration and exploitation capability of CHoA, we designed a chimp social hierarchy. We employed a novel social class factor to label the class situation of each chimp, enabling effective modelling and optimization of the relationships among chimp individuals. Then, to parse chimps' social and collaborative behaviours with different social classes, we introduce other attacking prey and autonomous search strategies to help chimp individuals approach the optimal solution faster. In addition, considering the poor diversity of chimp groups in the late iteration, we propose an adaptive lens imaging back-learning strategy to avoid the algorithm falling into a local optimum. Finally, we validate the improvement of ALI-CHoASH in exploration and exploitation capabilities using several high-dimensional datasets. Colorectal cancer (CRC) exhibits a significant death rate that consistently impacts human lives worldwide. Histopathological examination is the standard method for CRC diagnosis. However, it is complicated, time-consuming, and subjective. Computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) systems using digital pathology can help pathologists diagnose CRC faster and more accurately than manual histopathology examinations. Deep learning algorithms especially convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are advocated for diagnosis of CRC. Nevertheless, most previous CAD systems obtained features from one CNN, these features are of huge dimension. Also, they relied on spatial information only to achieve classification. In this paper, a CAD system is proposed called "Color-CADx" for CRC recognition. Different CNNs namely ResNet50, DenseNet201, and AlexNet are used for end-to-end classification at different training–testing ratios. Moreover, features are extracted from these CNNs and reduced using discrete cosine transform (DCT). DCT is also utilized to acquire spectral representation. Afterward, it is used to further select a reduced set of deep features. Furthermore, DCT coefficients obtained in the previous step are concatenated and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) feature selection approach is applied to choose significant features. Finally, machine learning classifiers are employed for CRC classification. Two publicly available datasets were investigated which are the NCT-CRC-HE-100 K dataset and the Kather_texture_2016_image_tiles dataset. The highest achieved accuracy reached 99.3% for the NCT-CRC-HE-100 K dataset and 96.8% for the Kather_texture_2016_image_tiles dataset. DCT and ANOVA have successfully lowered feature dimensionality thus reducing complexity. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in predictive analytics is growing in popularity. It has the power to offer ground-breaking solutions for a range of social problems and real world societal difficulties. It is helpful in addressing some of the social issues that today's world seems incapable of solving. One of the most significant phenomena affecting people's lives is divorce. The goal of this paper is to study the use of machine learning algorithms to determine the effectiveness of divorce predictor scale (DPS) and identify the reasons that usually lead to divorce in the scenario of Hail region, KSA. For this purpose, in this study, the DPS, based on Gottman couples therapy, was used to predict divorce by applying different machine learning algorithms. There were 54 items of the DPS used as features or attributes for data collection. In addition to the DPS, a personal information form was utilized to gather participants' personal data in order to conduct this study in a more structured and traditional manner. Out of 148 participants 116 participants were married whereas 32 were divorced. With the use of algorithms artificial neural network (ANN), naïve bayes (NB), and random forest (RF), the effectiveness of DPS was examined in this study. The correlation based feature selection method was used to identify the top six features from the same dataset and the highest accuracy rate was 91.66% with RF. The results show that DPS can predict divorce. This scale can help family counselors and therapists in case formulation and intervention plan development process. Continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP), crucial for the resilience of transportation infrastructure owing to its continuous steel reinforcement, confronts a critical challenge in the form of spalling—a distress phenomenon posing a threat to pavement durability and overall structural integrity. The detachment or breakage of concrete from the surface compromises CRCP's functionality and raises safety concerns and escalating maintenance costs. To address this pressing issue, our study investigates the multifaceted factors influencing spalling, employing a comprehensive approach that integrates statistical and machine learning techniques for predictive modeling. Descriptive statistics meticulously profile the dataset, emphasizing age, thickness, precipitation, temperature, and traffic parameters. Regression analysis unveils key relationships, emphasizing the significance of age, annual temperature, annual precipitation, maximum humidity, and the initial International Roughness Index (IRI) as influential factors. The correlation matrix heatmap guides feature selection, elucidating intricate interdependencies. Simultaneously, feature importance analysis identifies age, Average Annual Daily Traffic (AADT), and total pavement thickness as crucial contributors to spalling. In machine learning, adopting models, including Gaussian Process Regression and ensemble tree models, is grounded in their diverse capabilities and suitability for the complex task at hand. A stroke is a dangerous, life-threatening disease that mostly affects people over 65, but an unhealthy diet is also contributing to the development of strokes at younger ages. Strokes can be treated successfully if they are identified early enough, and suitable therapies are available. The purpose of this study is to develop a stroke prediction model that will improve stroke prediction effectiveness as well as accuracy. Predicting whether someone is suffering from a stroke or not can be accomplished with this proposed machine learning algorithm. In this research, various machine learning techniques are evaluated for predicting stroke on the healthcare stroke dataset. The feature selection algorithms used here are gradient boosting and random forest, and classifiers include the decision tree classifier, Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier, logistic regression classifier, gradient boosting classifier, random forest classifier, K neighbors classifier, and Xtreme gradient boosting classifier. In this process, different machine-learning approaches are employed to test predictive methods on different data samples. Text classification plays a major role in research such as sentiment analysis, opinion mining, and customer feedback analysis. Text classification using hypergraph algorithms is effective in capturing the intricate relationships between words and phrases in documents. The method entails text preprocessing, keyword extraction, feature selection, text classification, and performance metric evaluation. Here, we proposed a Hypergraph Attention Layer with Logistic Regression (HGATT_LR) for text classification in the Amazon review data set. The essential keywords are extracted by utilizing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) technique. To build a hypergraph attention layer, feature selection based on node-level and edge-level attention is assessed. The resultant features are passed as an input of Logistic regression for text classification. Through a comparison analysis of different text classifiers on the Amazon data set, the performance metrics are assessed. Text classification using hypergraph Attention Network has been shown to achieve 88% accuracy which is better compared to other state-of-the-art algorithms. The proposed model is scalable and may be easily enhanced with more training data. The solution highlights the utility of hypergraph approaches for text classification as well as their applicability to real-world datasets with complicated interactions between text parts. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted people's lives and caused significant economic damage around the world, but its impact on people's mental health has not been paid due attention by the research community. According to anecdotal data, the pandemic has raised serious concerns related to mental health among the masses. However, no systematic investigations have been conducted previously on mental health monitoring and, in particular, detection of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The goal of this study is to use classical machine learning approaches to classify tweets into COVID-PTSD positive or negative categories. To this end, we employed various Machine Learning (ML) classifiers, to segregate the psychotic difficulties with the user's PTSD in the context of COVID-19, including Random Forest Support Vector Machine, Naïve Bayes, and K-Nearest Neighbor. ML models are trained and tested using various combinations of feature selection strategies to get the best possible combination. Based on our experimentation on real-world dataset, we demonstrate our model's effectiveness to perform classification with an accuracy of 83.29% using Support Vector Machine as classifier and unigram as a feature pattern. Recognizing an individual's preference state for potential romantic partners based on electroencephalogram (EEG) signals holds significant practical value in enhancing matchmaking success rates and preventing romance fraud. Despite some progress has been made in this field, challenges such as high-dimensional feature space and channel redundancy limited the technology's practical application. The aim of this study is to explore the most discriminative EEG features and channels, in order to enhance the recognition performance of the system, while maximizing the portable and practical value of EEG-based systems for recognizing romantic attraction. To achieve this goal, we first conducted an interesting simulated dating experiment to collect the necessary data. Next, EEG features were extracted from various dimensions, including band power and asymmetry index features. Then, we introduced a novel method for EEG feature and channel selection that combines the sequential forward selection (SFS) algorithm with the frequency-based feature subset integration (FFSI) algorithm. Finally, we used the random forest classifier (RFC) to determine a person's preference state for potential romantic partners. Experimental results indicate that the optimal feature subset, selected using the SFS-FFSI method, attained an average classification accuracy of 88.42%. This research endeavors to prognosticate gender by harnessing the potential of skull computed tomography (CT) images, given the seminal role of gender identification in the realm of identification. The study encompasses a corpus of CT images of cranial structures derived from 218 male and 203 female subjects, constituting a total cohort of 421 individuals within the age bracket of 25 to 65 years. Employing deep learning, a prominent subset of machine learning algorithms, the study deploys convolutional neural network (CNN) models to excavate profound attributes inherent in the skull CT images. In pursuit of the research objective, the focal methodology involves the exclusive application of deep learning algorithms to image datasets, culminating in an accuracy rate of 96.4%. The gender estimation process exhibits a precision of 96.1% for male individuals and 96.8% for female individuals. The precision performance varies across different selections of feature numbers, namely 100, 300, and 500, alongside 1000 features without feature selection. The respective precision rates for these selections are recorded as 95.0%, 95.5%, 96.2%, and 96.4%. It is notable that gender estimation via visual radiography mitigates the discrepancy in measurements between experts, concurrently yielding an expedited estimation rate. Predicated on the empirical findings of this investigation, it is inferred that the efficacy of the CNN model, the configurational intricacies of the classifier, and the judicious selection of features collectively constitute pivotal determinants in shaping the performance attributes of the proposed methodology. Blood cancer has emerged as a growing concern over the past decade, necessitating early diagnosis for timely and effective treatment. The present diagnostic method, which involves a battery of tests and medical experts, is costly and time-consuming. For this reason, it is crucial to establish an automated diagnostic system for accurate predictions. A particular field of focus in medical research is the use of machine learning and leukemia microarray gene data for blood cancer diagnosis. Even with a great deal of research, more improvements are needed to reach the appropriate levels of accuracy and efficacy. This work presents a supervised machine-learning algorithm for blood cancer prediction. This work makes use of the 22,283-gene leukemia microarray gene data. Chi-squared (Chi2) feature selection methods and the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE)-Tomek resampling is used to overcome issues with imbalanced and high-dimensional datasets. To balance the dataset for each target class, SMOTE-Tomek creates synthetic data, and Chi2 chooses the most important features to train the learning models from 22,283 genes. A novel weighted convolutional neural network (CNN) model is proposed for classification, utilizing the support of three separate CNN models. To determine the importance of the proposed approach, extensive experiments are carried out on the datasets, including a performance comparison with the most advanced techniques. Weighted CNN demonstrates superior performance over other models when coupled with SMOTE-Tomek and Chi2 techniques, achieving a remarkable 99.9% accuracy. This study aimed to apply pathomics to predict Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) expression in glioblastoma (GBM) and investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms associated with pathomics. Here, we included 127 GBM patients, 78 of whom were randomly allocated to the training and test cohorts for pathomics modeling. The prognostic significance of MMP9 was assessed using Kaplan–Meier and Cox regression analyses. PyRadiomics was used to extract the features of H&E-stained whole slide images. Feature selection was performed using the maximum relevance and minimum redundancy (mRMR) and recursive feature elimination (RFE) algorithms. Prediction models were created using support vector machines (SVM) and logistic regression (LR). The performance was assessed using ROC analysis, calibration curve assessment, and decision curve analysis. MMP9 expression was elevated in patients with GBM. This was an independent prognostic factor for GBM. Six features were selected for the pathomics model. The area under the curves (AUCs) of the training and test subsets were 0.828 and 0.808, respectively, for the SVM model and 0.778 and 0.754, respectively, for the LR model. The C-index and calibration plots exhibited effective estimation abilities. The pathomics score calculated using the SVM model was highly correlated with overall survival time. These findings indicate that MMP9 plays a crucial role in GBM development and prognosis. Abstract As a preprocessing for machine learning and data mining, Feature Selection plays an important role. Feature selection aims to streamline high-dimensional data by eliminating irrelevant and redundant features, which reduces the potential curse of dimensionality of a given large dataset. When working with datasets containing many features, algorithms that aim to identify the most valuable features to improve dataset accuracy may encounter difficulties because of local optima. Many studies have been conducted to solve this problem. One of the solutions is to use meta-heuristic techniques. This paper presents a combination of the Differential evolution and the sailfish optimizer algorithms (DESFO) to tackle the feature selection problem. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, a comparison between Differential Evolution, sailfish optimizer, and nine other modern algorithms, including different optimization algorithms, is presented. The evaluation used Random forest and key nearest neighbors as quality measures. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a superior algorithm compared to others. It significantly impacts high classification accuracy, achieving 85.7% with the Random Forest classifier and 100% with the Key Nearest Neighbors classifier across 14 multi-scale benchmarks. According to fitness values, it gained 71% with the Random forest and 85.7% with the Key Nearest Neighbors classifiers.

The performance is evaluated using a publicly available online dataset containing EEGs from 19 channels recorded from 24 participants. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in performance when utilizing the NSGA-II algorithm. By selecting only a few appropriate EEG channels, the LOSO CV-based results show a significant improvement compared to using all 19 channels. Additionally, the outcomes indicate that accuracy can be further improved by selecting suitable features from different channels. For instance, by combining VMD and Teager energy, the SVM accuracy obtained using all channels is 74.24%. Interestingly, when only five channels are selected using NSGA-II, the accuracy increases to 91.56%. The accuracy is further improved to 95.28% when using only 8 features selected from 7 channels. This demonstrates that by choosing informative features or channels while excluding noisy or irrelevant information, the impact of noise is reduced, resulting in improved accuracy. These promising findings indicate that, with a limited number of channels and features, accurate diagnosis of MCI is achievable, which opens the door for its application in clinical practice.

Predicting postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) before delivery is crucial for enhancing patient outcomes, enabling timely transfer and implementation of prophylactic therapies. We attempted to utilize machine learning (ML) using basic pre-labor clinical data and laboratory measurements to predict postpartum Hemoglobin (Hb) in non-complicated singleton pregnancies. The local databases of two academic care centers on patient delivery were incorporated into the current study. Patients with preexisting coagulopathy, traumatic cases, and allogenic blood transfusion were excluded from all analyses. The association of pre-delivery variables with 24-h post-delivery hemoglobin level was evaluated using feature selection with Elastic Net regression and Random Forest algorithms. A suite of ML algorithms was employed to predict post-delivery Hb levels. Out of 2051 pregnant women, 1974 were included in the final analysis. After data pre-processing and redundant variable removal, the top predictors selected via feature selection for predicting post-delivery Hb were parity (B: 0.09 [0.05–0.12]), gestational age, pre-delivery hemoglobin (B:0.83 [0.80–0.85]) and fibrinogen levels (B:0.01 [0.01–0.01]), and pre-labor platelet count (B*1000: 0.77 [0.30–1.23]). Among the trained algorithms, artificial neural network provided the most accurate model (Root mean squared error: 0.62), which was subsequently deployed as a web-based calculator: https://predictivecalculators.shinyapps.io/ANN-HB. The current study shows that ML models could be utilized as accurate predictors of indirect measures of PPH and can be readily incorporated into healthcare systems. Data categorization is a top concern in medical data to predict and detect illnesses; thus, it is applied in modern healthcare informatics. In modern informatics, machine learning and deep learning models have enjoyed great attention for categorizing medical data and improving illness detection. However, the existing techniques, such as features with high dimensionality, computational complexity, and long-term execution duration, raise fundamental problems. This study presents a novel classification model employing metaheuristic methods to maximize efficient positives on Chronic Kidney Disease diagnosis. The medical data is initially massively pre-processed, where the data is purified with various mechanisms, including missing values resolution, data transformation, and the employment of normalization procedures. The focus of such processes is to leverage the handling of the missing values and prepare the data for deep analysis. We adopt the Binary Grey Wolf Optimization method, a reliable subset selection feature using metaheuristics. This operation is aimed at improving illness prediction accuracy. In the classification step, the model adopts the Extreme Learning Machine with hidden nodes through data optimization to predict the presence of CKD. The complete classifier evaluation employs established measures, including recall, specificity, kappa, F-score, and accuracy, in addition to the feature selection. This study investigates the application of cavitation in non-invasive abdominal fat reduction and body contouring, a topic of considerable interest in the medical and aesthetic fields. We explore the potential of cavitation to alter abdominal fat composition and delve into the optimization of fat prediction models using advanced hyperparameter optimization techniques, Hyperopt and Optuna. Our objective is to enhance the predictive accuracy of abdominal fat dynamics post-cavitation treatment. Employing a robust dataset with abdominal fat measurements and cavitation treatment parameters, we evaluate the efficacy of our approach through regression analysis. The performance of Hyperopt and Optuna regression models is assessed using metrics such as mean squared error, mean absolute error, and R-squared score. Our results reveal that both models exhibit strong predictive capabilities, with R-squared scores reaching 94.12% and 94.11% for post-treatment visceral fat, and 71.15% and 70.48% for post-treatment subcutaneous fat predictions, respectively. Additionally, we investigate feature selection techniques to pinpoint critical predictors within the fat prediction models. Techniques including F-value selection, mutual information, recursive feature elimination with logistic regression and random forests, variance thresholding, and feature importance evaluation are utilized. The analysis identifies key features such as BMI, waist circumference, and pretreatment fat levels as significant predictors of post-treatment fat outcomes. Our findings underscore the effectiveness of hyperparameter optimization in refining fat prediction models and offer valuable insights for the advancement of non-invasive fat reduction methods. Dementia is characterized by a progressive loss of cognitive abilities, and diagnosing its early stages Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), is difficult since it is a transitory state that is different from total cognitive collapse. Recent clinical research studies have identified that balance impairments can be a significant indicator for predicting dementia in older adults. Accordingly, the current research focuses on finding innovative postural balance-based digital biomarkers by using wearable inertial sensors and pre-screening of MCI in home settings using machine learning techniques. For this research, sixty subjects (30 cognitively normal and 30 MCI) with waist-mounted inertial sensor performed balance tasks in four different standing postures: eyes-open, eyes-closed, right-leg-lift, and left-leg-lift. The significant balance biomarkers for MCI identification are discovered by our research, demonstrating specific characteristics in each of these four states. A robust feature selection approach is ensured by the multi-step methodology that combines the strengths of Filter techniques, Wrapper methods, and SHAP (Shapley Additive exPlanations) technique. The proposed balance biomarkers have the potential to detect MCI (with 75.8% accuracy), as evidenced by the results of machine learning algorithms for classification. This work adds to the growing body of literature targeted at enhancing understanding and proactive management of cognitive loss in older populations and lays the groundwork for future research efforts aimed at refining digital biomarkers, validating findings, and exploring longitudinal perspectives. Neonatal Jaundice is a common occurrence in neonates. High excess bilirubin would lead to hyperbilirubinemia, leading to irreversible adverse damage such as kernicterus. Therefore, it is necessary and important to monitor neonates' bilirubin levels in real-time for immediate intervention. However, current screening protocols have their inherent limitations, necessitating more convenient measurements. In this proof-of-concept study, we evaluated the feasibility of using machine learning for the screening of hyperbilirubinemia in neonates from smartphone-acquired photographs. Different machine learning models were compared and evaluated to gain a better understanding of feature selection and model performance in bilirubin determination. An in vitro study was conducted with a bilirubin-containing tissue phantom to identify potential biological and environmental confounding factors. The findings of this study present a systematic characterization of the confounding effect of various factors through separate parametric tests. These tests uncover potential techniques in image pre-processing, highlighting important biological features (light scattering property and skin thickness) and external features (ISO, lighting conditions and white balance), which together contribute to robust model approaches for accurately determining bilirubin concentrations. By obtaining an accuracy of 0.848 in classification and 0.812 in regression, these findings indicate strong potential in aiding in the design of clinical studies using patient-derived images. The prediction of flight delays is one of the important and challenging issues in the field of scheduling and planning flights by airports and airlines. Therefore, in recent years, we have witnessed various methods to solve this problem using machine learning techniques. In this article, a new method is proposed to address these issues. In the proposed method, a group of potential indicators related to flight delay is introduced, and a combination of ANOVA and the Forward Sequential Feature Selection (FSFS) algorithm is used to determine the most influential indicators on flight delays. To overcome the challenges related to large flight data volumes, a clustering strategy based on the DBSCAN algorithm is employed. In this approach, samples are clustered into similar groups, and a separate learning model is used to predict flight delays for each group. This strategy allows the problem to be decomposed into smaller sub-problems, leading to improved prediction system performance in terms of accuracy (by 2.49%) and processing speed (by 39.17%). The learning model used in each cluster is a novel structure based on a random forest, where each tree component is optimized and weighted using the Coyote Optimization Algorithm (COA). Optimizing the structure of each tree component and assigning weighted values to them results in a minimum 5.3% increase in accuracy compared to the conventional random forest model. The performance of the proposed method in predicting flight delays is tested and compared with previous research. The findings demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves an average accuracy of 97.2% which indicates a 4.7% improvement compared to previous efforts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
