With a significant number of mechanical products approaching the retirement phase, the batch recycling of discarded mechanical parts necessitates a preliminary assessment of their surface condition. However, the presence of surface rust poses a challenge to defect identification. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for detecting heavily rusted surface defects based on an improved YOLOv8n network. In the Backbone, the C2f-DBB module of re-parameterized deep feature extraction was introduced, and the attention module was designed to improve the accuracy of information extraction. In the Neck part, a Bi-Afpn multiscale feature fusion strategy is designed to facilitate information exchange between features at different scales. Finally, Focal-CIoU is employed as the bounding box loss function to enhance the network's localization performance and accuracy for defects. Experimentally, it is proved that the improved network in this paper improves the Recall, Precision, and mAP0.5 by 1.2%, 2.1%, and 1.9%, respectively, on the original basis, which is better than other network models. Epilepsy is one of the most well-known neurological disorders globally, leading to individuals experiencing sudden seizures and significantly impacting their quality of life. Hence, there is an urgent necessity for an efficient method to detect and predict seizures in order to mitigate the risks faced by epilepsy patients. In this paper, a new method for seizure detection and prediction is proposed, which is based on multi-class feature fusion and the convolutional neural network-gated recurrent unit-attention mechanism (CNN-GRU-AM) model. Initially, the Electroencephalography (EEG) signal undergoes wavelet decomposition through the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), resulting in six subbands. Subsequently, time–frequency domain and nonlinear features are extracted from each subband. Finally, the CNN-GRU-AM further extracts features and performs classification. The CHB-MIT dataset is used to validate the proposed approach. The results of tenfold cross validation show that our method achieved a sensitivity of 99.24% and 95.47%, specificity of 99.51% and 94.93%, accuracy of 99.35% and 95.16%, and an AUC of 99.34% and 95.15% in seizure detection and prediction tasks, respectively. The results show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively achieve high-precision detection and prediction of seizures, so as to remind patients and doctors to take timely protective measures. The intelligent appearance quality classification method for Auricularia auricula is of great significance to promote this industry. This paper proposes an appearance quality classification method for Auricularia auricula based on the improved Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Networks (improved Faster RCNN) framework. The original Faster RCNN is improved by establishing a multiscale feature fusion detection model to improve the accuracy and real-time performance of the model. The multiscale feature fusion detection model makes full use of shallow feature information to complete target detection. It fuses shallow features with rich detailed information with deep features rich in strong semantic information. Since the fusion algorithm directly uses the existing information of the feature extraction network, there is no additional calculation. The fused features contain more original detailed feature information. Therefore, the improved Faster RCNN can improve the final detection rate without sacrificing speed. By comparing with the original Faster RCNN model, the mean average precision (mAP) of the improved Faster RCNN is increased by 2.13%. The average precision (AP) of the first-level Auricularia auricula is almost unchanged at a high level. The AP of the second-level Auricularia auricula is increased by nearly 5%. And the third-level Auricularia auricula AP is increased by 1%. The improved Faster RCNN improves the frames per second from 6.81 of the original Faster RCNN to 13.5. As computer image processing and digital technologies advance, creating an efficient method for classifying sports images is crucial for the rapid retrieval and management of large image datasets. Traditional manual methods for classifying sports images are impractical for large-scale data and often inaccurate when distinguishing similar images. This paper introduces an SE module that adaptively adjusts the weights of input feature mapping channels, and a Res module that excels in deep feature extraction, preventing gradient vanishing, multi-scale processing, and enhancing generalization in image recognition. Through extensive experimentation on network structure adjustments, the SE-RES-CNN neural network model is applied to sports image classification. The model is trained on a sports image classification dataset from Kaggle, alongside VGG-16 and ResNet50 models. Training results show that the proposed SE-RES-CNN model improves classification accuracy by approximately 5% compared to VGG-16 and ResNet50 models. Testing revealed that the SE-RES-CNN model classifies 100 out of 500 sports images in 6 s, achieving an accuracy rate of up to 98% and a single prediction time of 0.012 s. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a major global health concern, affecting millions of individuals worldwide. While existing literature predominantly focuses on disease classification using clinical data, there exists a critical research gap concerning HCV genotyping based on genomic sequences. Accurate HCV genotyping is essential for patient management and treatment decisions. While the neural models excel at capturing complex patterns, they still face challenges, such as data scarcity, that exist a lot in computational genomics. To overcome this challenges, this paper introduces an advanced deep learning approach for HCV genotyping based on the graphical representation of nucleotide sequences that outperforms classical approaches. Notably, it is effective for both partial and complete HCV genomes and addresses challenges associated with imbalanced datasets. In this work, ten HCV genotypes: 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 4, 5, and 6 were used in the analysis. This study utilizes Chaos Game Representation for 2D mapping of genomic sequences, employing self-supervised learning using convolutional autoencoder for deep feature extraction, resulting in an outstanding performance for HCV genotyping compared to various machine learning and deep learning models. This baseline provides a benchmark against which the performance of the proposed approach and other models can be evaluated. The experimental results showcase a remarkable classification accuracy of over 99%, outperforming traditional deep learning models. This performance demonstrates the capability of the proposed model to accurately identify HCV genotypes in both partial and complete sequences and in dealing with data scarcity for certain genotypes. Blinding eye diseases are often related to changes in retinal structure, which can be detected by analysing retinal blood vessels in fundus images. However, existing techniques struggle to accurately segment these delicate vessels. Although deep learning has shown promise in medical image segmentation, its reliance on specific operations can limit its ability to capture crucial details such as the edges of the vessel. This paper introduces LMBiS-Net, a lightweight convolutional neural network designed for the segmentation of retinal vessels. LMBiS-Net achieves exceptional performance with a remarkably low number of learnable parameters (only 0.172 million). The network used multipath feature extraction blocks and incorporates bidirectional skip connections for the information flow between the encoder and decoder. In addition, we have optimised the efficiency of the model by carefully selecting the number of filters to avoid filter overlap. This optimisation significantly reduces training time and improves computational efficiency. To assess LMBiS-Net's robustness and ability to generalise to unseen data, we conducted comprehensive evaluations on four publicly available datasets: DRIVE, STARE, CHASE_DB1, and HRF The proposed LMBiS-Net achieves significant performance metrics in various datasets. It obtains sensitivity values of 83.60%, 84.37%, 86.05%, and 83.48%, specificity values of 98.83%, 98.77%, 98.96%, and 98.77%, accuracy (acc) scores of 97.08%, 97.69%, 97.75%, and 96.90%, and AUC values of 98.80%, 98.82%, 98.71%, and 88.77% on the DRIVE, STARE, CHEASE_DB, and HRF datasets, respectively. In addition, it records F1 scores of 83.43%, 84.44%, 83.54%, and 78.73% on the same datasets. During the manufacturing process of printed circuit boards (PCBs), quality defects can occur, which can affect the performance and reliability of PCBs. Existing deep learning-based PCB defect detection methods are difficult to simultaneously achieve the goals of high detection accuracy, fast detection speed, and small number of parameters. Therefore, this paper proposes a PCB defect detection algorithm based on CDI-YOLO. Firstly, the coordinate attention mechanism (CA) is introduced to improve the backbone and neck network of YOLOv7-tiny, enhance the feature extraction capability of the model, and thus improve the accuracy of model detection. Secondly, DSConv is used to replace part of the common convolution in YOLOv7-tiny to achieve lower computing costs and faster detection speed. Finally, Inner-CIoU is used as the bounding box regression loss function of CDI-YOLO to speed up the bounding box regression process. The experimental results show that the method achieves 98.3% mAP on the PCB defect dataset, the detection speed is 128 frames per second (FPS), the parameters is 5.8 M, and the giga floating-point operations per second (GFLOPs) is 12.6 G. Polyp detection is a challenging task in the diagnosis of Colorectal Cancer (CRC), and it demands clinical expertise due to the diverse nature of polyps. The recent years have witnessed the development of automated polyp detection systems to assist the experts in early diagnosis, considerably reducing the time consumption and diagnostic errors. In automated CRC diagnosis, polyp segmentation is an important step which is carried out with deep learning segmentation models. Recently, Vision Transformers (ViT) are slowly replacing these models due to their ability to capture long range dependencies among image patches. However, the existing ViTs for polyp do not harness the inherent self-attention abilities and incorporate complex attention mechanisms. This paper presents Polyp-Vision Transformer (Polyp-ViT), a novel Transformer model based on the conventional Transformer architecture, which is enhanced with adaptive mechanisms for feature extraction and positional embedding. Polyp-ViT is tested on the Kvasir-seg and CVC-Clinic DB Datasets achieving segmentation accuracies of 0.9891 ± 0.01 and 0.9875 ± 0.71 respectively, outperforming state-of-the-art models. Traffic time series anomaly detection has been intensively studied for years because of its potential applications in intelligent transportation. However, classical traffic anomaly detection methods often overlook the evolving dynamic associations between road network nodes, which leads to challenges in capturing the long-term temporal correlations, spatial characteristics, and abnormal node behaviors in datasets with high periodicity and trends, such as morning peak travel periods. In this paper, we propose a mirror temporal graph autoencoder (MTGAE) framework to explore anomalies and capture unseen nodes and the spatiotemporal correlation between nodes in the traffic network. Specifically, we propose the mirror temporal convolutional module to enhance feature extraction capabilities and capture hidden node-to-node features in the traffic network. Morever, we propose the graph convolutional gate recurrent unit cell (GCGRU CELL) module. This module uses Gaussian kernel functions to map data into a high-dimensional space, and enables the identification of anomalous information and potential anomalies within the complex interdependencies of the traffic network, based on prior knowledge and input data. We compared our work with several other advanced deep-learning anomaly detection models. This paper proposes an approach to enhance the differentiation task between benign and malignant Breast Tumors (BT) using histopathology images from the BreakHis dataset. The main stages involve preprocessing, which encompasses image resizing, data partitioning (training and testing sets), followed by data augmentation techniques. Both feature extraction and classification tasks are employed by a Custom CNN. The experimental results show that the proposed approach using the Custom CNN model exhibits better performance with an accuracy of 84% than applying the same approach using other pretrained models, including MobileNetV3, EfficientNetB0, Vgg16, and ResNet50V2, that present relatively lower accuracies, ranging from 74 to 82%; these four models are used as both feature extractors and classifiers. To increase the accuracy and other performance metrics, Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO), and Modified Gorilla Troops Optimization (MGTO) metaheuristic optimizers are applied to each model separately for hyperparameter tuning. In this case, the experimental results show that the Custom CNN model, refined with MGTO optimization, reaches an exceptional accuracy of 93.13% in just 10 iterations, outperforming the other state-of-the-art methods, and the other four used pretrained models based on the BreakHis dataset. Detecting the water deficit status of vertical greenery plants rapidly and accurately is a significant challenge in the process of cultivating and planting greenery plants. Currently, the mainstream method involves utilizing a single target detection algorithm for this task. However, in complex real-world scenarios, the accuracy of detection is influenced by factors such as image quality and background environment. Therefore, we propose a multi-stage progressive detection method aimed at enhancing detection accuracy by gradually filtering, processing, and detecting images through a multi-stage architecture. Additionally, to reduce the additional computational load brought by multiple stages and improve overall detection efficiency, we introduce a Swin Transformer based on mobile windows and hierarchical representations for feature extraction, along with global feature modeling through a self-attention mechanism. The experimental results demonstrate that our multi-stage detection approach achieves high accuracy in vertical greenery plants detection tasks, with an average precision of 93.5%. Diabetic retinopathy (DR), a leading cause of blindness in diabetic patients, necessitates the precise segmentation of lesions for the effective grading of lesions. DR multi-lesion segmentation faces the main concerns as follows. On the one hand, retinal lesions vary in location, shape, and size. On the other hand, the currently available multi-lesion region segmentation models are insufficient in their extraction of minute features and are prone to overlooking microaneurysms. To solve the above problems, we propose a novel deep learning method: the Multi-Scale Spatial Attention Gate (MSAG) mechanism network. The model inputs images of varying scales in order to extract a range of semantic information. Our innovative Spatial Attention Gate merges low-level spatial details with high-level semantic content, assigning hierarchical attention weights for accurate segmentation. The incorporation of the modified spatial attention gate in the inference stage enhances precision by combining prediction scales hierarchically, thereby improving segmentation accuracy without increasing the associated training costs. Inferring gene regulatory networks through deep learning and causal inference methods is a crucial task in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics. This study presents a novel approach that uses a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) guided by causal information to infer Gene Regulatory Networks (GRN). The transfer entropy and reconstruction layer are utilized to achieve causal feature reconstruction, mitigating the information loss problem caused by multiple rounds of neighbor aggregation in GCN, resulting in a causal and integrated representation of node features. Separable features are extracted from gene expression data by the Gaussian-kernel Autoencoder to improve computational efficiency. Experimental results on the DREAM5 and the mDC dataset demonstrate that our method exhibits superior performance compared to existing algorithms, as indicated by the higher values of the AUPRC metrics. This study investigates olfaction, a complex and not well-understood sensory modality. The chemical mechanism behind smell can be described by so far proposed two theories: vibrational and docking theories. The vibrational theory has been gaining acceptance lately but needs more extensive validation. To fill this gap for the first time, we, with the help of data-driven classification, clustering, and Explainable AI techniques, systematically analyze a large dataset of vibrational spectra (VS) of 3018 molecules obtained from the atomistic simulation. The study utlizes image representations of VS using Gramian Angular Fields and Markov Transition Fields, allowing computer vision techniques to be applied for better feature extraction and improved odor classification. Furthermore, we fuse the PCA-reduced fingerprint features with image features, which show additional improvement in classification results. We use two clustering methods, agglomerative hierarchical (AHC) and k-means, on dimensionality reduced (UMAP, MDS, t-SNE, and PCA) VS and image features, which shed further insight into the connections between molecular structure, VS, and odor. Additionally, we contrast our method with an earlier work that employed traditional machine learning on fingerprint features for the same dataset, and demonstrate that even with a representative subset of 3018 molecules, our deep learning model outperforms previous results. In tissue characterization and cancer diagnostics, multimodal imaging has emerged as a powerful technique. Thanks to computational advances, large datasets can be exploited to discover patterns in pathologies and improve diagnosis. However, this requires efficient and scalable image retrieval methods. Cross-modality image retrieval is particularly challenging, since images of similar (or even the same) content captured by different modalities might share few common structures. We propose a new application-independent content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system for reverse (sub-)image search across modalities, which combines deep learning to generate representations (embedding the different modalities in a common space) with robust feature extraction and bag-of-words models for efficient and reliable retrieval. We illustrate its advantages through a replacement study, exploring a number of feature extractors and learned representations, as well as through comparison to recent (cross-modality) CBIR methods. For the task of (sub-)image retrieval on a (publicly available) dataset of brightfield and second harmonic generation microscopy images, the results show that our approach is superior to all tested alternatives. We discuss the shortcomings of the compared methods and observe the importance of equivariance and invariance properties of the learned representations and feature extractors in the CBIR pipeline. Virus‒host protein‒lncRNA interaction (VHPLI) predictions are critical for decoding the molecular mechanisms of viral pathogens and host immune processes. Although VHPLI interactions have been predicted in both plants and animals, they have not been extensively studied in viruses. For the first time, we propose a new deep learning-based approach that consists mainly of a convolutional neural network and bidirectional long and short-term memory network modules in combination with transfer learning named CBIL‒VHPLI to predict viral–host protein‒lncRNA interactions. The models were first trained on large and diverse datasets (including plants, animals, etc.). Protein sequence features were extracted using a k-mer method combined with the one-hot encoding and composition–transition–distribution (CTD) methods, and lncRNA sequence features were extracted using a k-mer method combined with the one-hot encoding and Z curve methods. The results obtained on three independent external validation datasets showed that the pre-trained CBIL‒VHPLI model performed the best with an accuracy of approximately 0.9. Pretraining was followed by conducting transfer learning on a viral protein–human lncRNA dataset, and the fine-tuning results showed that the accuracy of CBIL‒VHPLI was 0.946, which was significantly greater than that of the previous models. The final case study results showed that CBIL‒VHPLI achieved a prediction reproducibility rate of 91.6% for the RIP-Seq experimental screening results. This model was then used to predict the interactions between human lncRNA PIK3CD-AS2 and the nonstructural protein 1 (NS1) of the H5N1 virus, and RNA pull-down experiments were used to prove the prediction readiness of the model in terms of prediction. Grape cultivation is important globally, contributing to the agricultural economy and providing diverse grape-based products. However, the susceptibility of grapes to disease poses a significant threat to yield and quality. Traditional disease identification methods demand expert knowledge, which limits scalability and efficiency. To address these limitations our research aims to design an automated deep learning approach for grape leaf disease detection. This research introduces a novel dual-track network for classifying grape leaf diseases, employing a combination of the Swin Transformer and Group Shuffle Residual DeformNet (GSRDN) tracks. The Swin Transformer track exploits shifted window techniques to construct hierarchical feature maps, enhancing global feature extraction. Simultaneously, the GSRDN track combines Group Shuffle Depthwise Residual block and Deformable Convolution block to extract local features with reduced computational complexity. The features from both tracks are concatenated and processed through Triplet Attention for cross-dimensional interaction. The proposed model achieved an accuracy of 98.6%, the precision, recall, and F1-score are recorded as 98.7%, 98.59%, and 98.64%, respectively as validated on a dataset containing grape leaf disease information from the PlantVillage dataset, demonstrating its potential for efficient grape disease classification. According to the literature, seizure prediction models should be developed following a patient-specific approach. However, seizures are usually very rare events, meaning the number of events that may be used to optimise seizure prediction approaches is limited. To overcome such constraint, we analysed the possibility of using data from patients from an external database to improve patient-specific seizure prediction models. We present seizure prediction models trained using a transfer learning procedure. We trained a deep convolutional autoencoder using electroencephalogram data from 41 patients collected from the EPILEPSIAE database. Then, a bidirectional long short-term memory and a classifier layers were added on the top of the encoder part and were optimised for 24 patients from the Universitätsklinikum Freiburg individually. The encoder was used as a feature extraction module. Therefore, its weights were not changed during the patient-specific training. Experimental results showed that seizure prediction models optimised using pretrained weights present about four times fewer false alarms while maintaining the same ability to predict seizures and achieved more 13% validated patients. Therefore, results evidenced that the optimisation using transfer learning was more stable and faster, saving computational resources. In summary, adopting transfer learning for seizure prediction models represents a significant advancement. It addresses the data limitation seen in the seizure prediction field and offers more efficient and stable training, conserving computational resources. Additionally, despite the compact size, transfer learning allows to easily share data knowledge due to fewer ethical restrictions and lower storage requirements. In human–computer interaction systems, speech emotion recognition (SER) plays a crucial role because it enables computers to understand and react to users' emotions. In the past, SER has significantly emphasised acoustic properties extracted from speech signals. The use of visual signals for enhancing SER performance, however, has been made possible by recent developments in deep learning and computer vision. This work utilizes a lightweight Vision Transformer (ViT) model to propose a novel method for improving speech emotion recognition. We leverage the ViT model's capabilities to capture spatial dependencies and high-level features in images which are adequate indicators of emotional states from mel spectrogram input fed into the model. To determine the efficiency of our proposed approach, we conduct a comprehensive experiment on two benchmark speech emotion datasets, the Toronto English Speech Set (TESS) and the Berlin Emotional Database (EMODB). The results of our extensive experiment demonstrate a considerable improvement in speech emotion recognition accuracy attesting to its generalizability as it achieved 98%, 91%, and 93% (TESS-EMODB) accuracy respectively on the datasets. The outcomes of the comparative experiment show that the non-overlapping patch-based feature extraction method substantially improves the discipline of speech emotion recognition. Our research indicates the potential for integrating vision transformer models into SER systems, opening up fresh opportunities for real-world applications requiring accurate emotion recognition from speech compared with other state-of-the-art techniques. Skin cancer is one of the most life-threatening diseases caused by the abnormal growth of the skin cells, when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Early detection seems to be more crucial for reducing aberrant cell proliferation because the mortality rate is rapidly rising. Although multiple researches are available based on the skin cancer detection, there still exists challenges in improving the accuracy, reducing the computational time and so on. In this research, a novel skin cancer detection is performed using a modified falcon finch deep Convolutional neural network classifier (Modified Falcon finch deep CNN) that efficiently detects the disease with higher efficiency. The usage of modified falcon finch deep CNN classifier effectively analyzed the information relevant to the skin cancer and the errors are also minimized. The inclusion of the falcon finch optimization in the deep CNN classifier is necessary for efficient parameter tuning. This tuning enhanced the robustness and boosted the convergence of the classifier that detects the skin cancer in less stipulated time. The modified falcon finch deep CNN classifier achieved accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity values of 93.59%, 92.14%, and 95.22% regarding k-fold and 96.52%, 96.69%, and 96.54% regarding training percentage, proving more effective than literary works. Hepatitis C, a particularly dangerous form of viral hepatitis caused by hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, is a major socio-economic and public health problem. Due to the rapid development of deep learning, it has become a common practice to apply deep learning to the healthcare industry to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of disease identification. In order to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of hepatitis C detection, this study proposes an improved denoising autoencoder (IDAE) and applies it to hepatitis C disease detection. Conventional denoising autoencoder introduces random noise at the input layer of the encoder. However, due to the presence of these features, encoders that directly add random noise may mask certain intrinsic properties of the data, making it challenging to learn deeper features. In this study, the problem of data information loss in traditional denoising autoencoding is addressed by incorporating the concept of residual neural networks into an enhanced denoising autoencoder. In our experimental study, we applied this enhanced denoising autoencoder to the open-source Hepatitis C dataset and the results showed significant results in feature extraction. While existing baseline machine learning methods have less than 90% accuracy and integrated algorithms and traditional autoencoders have only 95% correctness, the improved IDAE achieves 99% accuracy in the downstream hepatitis C classification task, which is a 9% improvement over a single algorithm, and a nearly 4% improvement over integrated algorithms and other autoencoders. The above results demonstrate that IDAE can effectively capture key disease features and improve the accuracy of disease prediction in hepatitis C data. Gastric cancer is a highly prevalent disease that poses a serious threat to public health. In clinical practice, gastroscopy is frequently used by medical practitioners to screen for gastric cancer. However, the symptoms of gastric cancer at different stages of advancement vary significantly, particularly in the case of early gastric cancer (EGC). The manifestations of EGC are often indistinct, leading to a detection rate of less than 10%. In recent years, researchers have focused on leveraging deep learning algorithms to assist medical professionals in detecting EGC and thereby improve detection rates. To enhance the ability of deep learning to detect EGC and segment lesions in gastroscopic images, an Improved Mask R-CNN (IMR-CNN) model was proposed. This model incorporates a "Bi-directional feature extraction and fusion module" and a "Purification module for feature channel and space" based on the Mask R-CNN (MR-CNN). Our study includes a dataset of 1120 images of EGC for training and validation of the models. The experimental results indicate that the IMR-CNN model outperforms the original MR-CNN model, with Precision, Recall, Accuracy, Specificity and F1-Score values of 92.9%, 95.3%, 93.9%, 92.5% and 94.1%, respectively. Intelligent detection of athlete behavior is beneficial for guiding sports instruction. Existing mature target detection algorithms provide significant support for this task. However, large-scale target detection algorithms often encounter more challenges in practical application scenarios. We propose SCB-YOLOv5, to detect standardized movements of gymnasts. First, the movements of aerobics athletes were captured, labeled using the labelImg software, and utilized to establish the athlete normative behavior dataset, which was then enhanced by the dataset augmentation using Mosaic9. Then, we improved the YOLOv5 by (1) incorporating the structures of ShuffleNet V2 and convolutional block attention module to reconstruct the Backbone, effectively reducing the parameter size while maintaining network feature extraction capability; (2) adding a weighted bidirectional feature pyramid network into the multiscale feature fusion, to acquire precise channel and positional information through the global receptive field of feature maps. Finally, SCB-YOLOv5 was lighter by 56.9% than YOLOv5. The detection precision is 93.7%, with a recall of 99% and mAP value of 94.23%. The six-dimensional (6D) pose object estimation is a key task in robotic manipulation and grasping scenes. Many existing two-stage solutions with a slow inference speed require extra refinement to handle the challenges of variations in lighting, sensor noise, object occlusion, and truncation. To address these challenges, this work proposes a decoupled one-stage network (DON6D) model for 6D pose estimation that improves inference speed on the premise of maintaining accuracy. Particularly, since the RGB images are aligned with the RGB-D images, the proposed DON6D first uses a two-dimensional detection network to locate the interested objects in RGB-D images. Then, a module of feature extraction and fusion is used to extract color and geometric features fully. Further, dual data augmentation is performed to enhance the generalization ability of the proposed model. Finally, the features are fused, and an attention residual encoder–decoder, which can improve the pose estimation performance to obtain an accurate 6D pose, is introduced. The proposed DON6D model is evaluated on the LINEMOD and YCB-Video datasets. Software vulnerabilities pose a significant threat to system security, necessitating effective automatic detection methods. Current techniques face challenges such as dependency issues, language bias, and coarse detection granularity. This study presents a novel deep learning-based vulnerability detection system for Java code. Leveraging hybrid feature extraction through graph and sequence-based techniques enhances semantic and syntactic understanding. The system utilizes control flow graphs (CFG), abstract syntax trees (AST), program dependencies (PD), and greedy longest-match first vectorization for graph representation. A hybrid neural network (GCN-RFEMLP) and the pre-trained CodeBERT model extract features, feeding them into a quantum convolutional neural network with self-attentive pooling. The system addresses issues like long-term information dependency and coarse detection granularity, employing intermediate code representation and inter-procedural slice code. To mitigate language bias, a benchmark software assurance reference dataset is employed. Evaluations demonstrate the system's superiority, achieving 99.2% accuracy in detecting vulnerabilities, outperforming benchmark methods. Along with the progress of natural language processing technology and deep learning, the subjectivity, slow feedback, and long grading time of traditional English essay grading have been addressed. Intelligent English automatic scoring has been widely concerned by scholars. Given the limitations of topic relevance feature extraction methods and traditional automatic grading methods for English compositions, a topic decision model is proposed to calculate the topic relevance score of the topic richness in English composition. Then, based on the Score of Relevance Based on Topic Richness (TRSR) calculation method, an intelligent English composition scoring method combining artificial feature extraction and deep learning is designed. From the findings, the Topic Decision (TD) model achieved the best effect only when it was iterated 80 times. The corresponding accuracy, recall and F1 value were 0.97, 0.93 and 0.95 respectively. The model training loss finally stabilized at 0.03. This research explores the use of gated recurrent units (GRUs) for automated brain tumor detection using MRI data. The GRU model captures sequential patterns and considers spatial information within individual MRI images and the temporal evolution of lesion characteristics. The proposed approach improves the accuracy of tumor detection using MRI images. The model's performance is benchmarked against conventional CNNs and other recurrent architectures. The research addresses interpretability concerns by employing attention mechanisms that highlight salient features contributing to the model's decisions. The proposed model attention-gated recurrent units (A-GRU) results show promising results, indicating that the proposed model surpasses the state-of-the-art models in terms of accuracy and obtained 99.32% accuracy. Rapid and accurate prediction of peak ground acceleration (PGA) is an important basis for determining seismic damage through on-site earthquake early warning (EEW). The current on-site EEW uses the feature parameters of the first arrival P-wave to predict PGA, but the selection of these feature parameters is limited by human experience, which limits the accuracy and timeliness of predicting peak ground acceleration (PGA). Therefore, an end-to-end deep learning model is proposed for predicting PGA (DLPGA) based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs). In DLPGA, the vertical initial arrival 3–6 s seismic wave from a single station is used as input, and PGA is used as output. Features are automatically extracted through a multilayer CNN to achieve rapid PGA prediction. The DLPGA is trained, verified, and tested using Japanese seismic records. It is shown that compared to the widely used peak displacement (Pd) method, the correlation coefficient of DLPGA for predicting PGA has increased by 12–23%, the standard deviation of error has decreased by 22–25%, and the error mean has decreased by 6.92–19.66% with the initial 3–6 s seismic waves. In particular, the accuracy of DLPGA for predicting PGA with the initial 3 s seismic wave is better than that of Pd for predicting PGA with the initial 6 s seismic wave. In addition, using the generalization test of Chilean seismic records, it is found that DLPGA has better generalization ability than Pd, and the accuracy of distinguishing ground motion destructiveness is improved by 35–150%. These results confirm that DLPGA has significant accuracy and timeliness advantages over artificially defined feature parameters in predicting PGA, which can greatly improve the effect of on-site EEW in judging the destructiveness of ground motion. Accurate deep learning (DL) models to predict type 2 diabetes (T2D) are concerned not only with targeting the discrimination task but also with learning useful feature representation. However, existing DL tools are far from perfect and do not provide appropriate interpretation as a guideline to explain and promote superior performance in the target task. Therefore, we provide an interpretable approach for our presented deep transfer learning (DTL) models to overcome such drawbacks, working as follows. We utilize several pre-trained models including SEResNet152, and SEResNeXT101. Then, we transfer knowledge from pre-trained models via keeping the weights in the convolutional base (i.e., feature extraction part) while modifying the classification part with the use of Adam optimizer to deal with classifying healthy controls and T2D based on single-cell gene regulatory network (SCGRN) images. Another DTL models work in a similar manner but just with keeping weights of the bottom layers in the feature extraction unaltered while updating weights of consecutive layers through training from scratch. Experimental results on the whole 224 SCGRN images using five-fold cross-validation show that our model (TFeSEResNeXT101) achieving the highest average balanced accuracy (BAC) of 0.97 and thereby significantly outperforming the baseline that resulted in an average BAC of 0.86. Moreover, the simulation study demonstrated that the superiority is attributed to the distributional conformance of model weight parameters obtained with Adam optimizer when coupled with weights from a pre-trained model. Low-light object detection is an important research area in computer vision, but it is also a difficult issue. This research offers a low-light target detection network, NLE-YOLO, based on YOLOV5, to address the issues of insufficient illumination and noise interference experienced by target detection tasks in low-light environments. The network initially preprocesses the input image with an improvement technique before suppressing high-frequency noise and enhancing essential information with C2fLEFEM, a unique feature extraction module. We also created a multi-scale feature extraction module, AMC2fLEFEM, and an attention mechanism receptive field module, AMRFB, which are utilized to extract features of multiple scales and enhance the receptive field. The C2fLEFEM module, in particular, merges the LEF and FEM modules on top of the C2f module. The LEF module employs a low-frequency filter to remove high-frequency noise; the FEM module employs dual inputs to fuse low-frequency enhanced and original features; and the C2f module employs a gradient retention method to minimize information loss. The AMC2fLEFEM module combines the SimAM attention mechanism and uses the pixel relationship to obtain features of different receptive fields, adapt to brightness changes, capture the difference between the target and the background, improve the network's feature extraction capability, and effectively reduce the impact of noise. The AMRFB module employs atrous convolution to enlarge the receptive field, maintain global information, and adjust to targets of various scales. Finally, for low-light settings, we replaced the original YOLOv5 detection head with a decoupled head. Analyzing, identifying, and classifying nonfunctional requirements from requirement documents is time-consuming and challenging. Machine learning-based approaches have been proposed to minimize analysts' efforts, labor, and stress. However, the traditional approach of supervised machine learning necessitates manual feature extraction, which is time-consuming. This study presents a novel deep-learning framework for NFR classification to overcome these limitations. The framework leverages a more profound architecture that naturally captures feature structures, possesses enhanced representational power, and efficiently captures a broader context than shallower structures. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, an experiment was conducted on two widely-used datasets, encompassing 914 NFR instances. Performance analysis was performed on the applied models, and the results were evaluated using various metrics. Notably, the DReqANN model outperforms the other models in classifying NFR, achieving precision between 81 and 99.8%, recall between 74 and 89%, and F1-score between 83 and 89%. These significant results highlight the exceptional efficacy of the proposed deep learning framework in addressing NFR classification tasks, showcasing its potential for advancing the field of NFR analysis and classification. Accurate and fast histological staining is crucial in histopathology, impacting diagnostic precision and reliability. Traditional staining methods are time-consuming and subjective, causing delays in diagnosis. Digital pathology plays a vital role in advancing and optimizing histology processes to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times. This study introduces a novel deep learning-based framework for virtual histological staining using photon absorption remote sensing (PARS) images. By extracting features from PARS time-resolved signals using a variant of the K-means method, valuable multi-modal information is captured. The proposed multi-channel cycleGAN model expands on the traditional cycleGAN framework, allowing the inclusion of additional features. Experimental results reveal that specific combinations of features outperform the conventional channels by improving the labeling of tissue structures prior to model training. Applied to human skin and mouse brain tissue, the results underscore the significance of choosing the optimal combination of features, as it reveals a substantial visual and quantitative concurrence between the virtually stained and the gold standard chemically stained hematoxylin and eosin images, surpassing the performance of other feature combinations. Accurate virtual staining is valuable for reliable diagnostic information, aiding pathologists in disease classification, grading, and treatment planning.
