Value alignment, the process of ensuring that artificial intelligence (AI) systems are aligned with human values and goals, is a critical issue in AI research. Existing scholarship has mainly studied how to encode moral values into agents to guide their behaviour. Less attention has been given to the normative questions of whose values and norms AI systems should be aligned with, and how these choices should be made. To tackle these questions, this paper presents the STELA process (SocioTEchnical Language agent Alignment), a methodology resting on sociotechnical traditions of participatory, inclusive, and community-centred processes. For STELA, we conduct a series of deliberative discussions with four historically underrepresented groups in the United States in order to understand their diverse priorities and concerns when interacting with AI systems. The results of our research suggest that community-centred deliberation on the outputs of large language models is a valuable tool for eliciting latent normative perspectives directly from differently situated groups. Clinical gait analysis is a crucial step for identifying foot disorders and planning surgery. Automating this process is essential for efficiently assessing the substantial amount of gait data. In this study, we explored the potential of state-of-the-art machine learning (ML) and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) algorithms to automate all various steps involved in gait analysis for six specific foot conditions. To address the complexity of gait data, we manually created new features, followed by recursive feature elimination using Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Random Forests (RF) to eliminate low-variance features. SVM, RF, K-nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Logistic Regression (LREGR) were compared for classification, with a Majority Voting (MV) model combining trained models. KNN and MV achieved mean balanced accuracy, recall, precision, and F1 score of 0.87. All models were interpreted using Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanation (LIME) method and the five most relevant features were identified for each foot condition. High success scores indicate a strong relationship between selected features and foot conditions, potentially indicating clinical relevance. De-mining operations are of critical importance for humanitarian efforts and safety in conflict-affected regions. In this paper, we address the challenge of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of mine detection systems. We present an innovative Deep Learning architecture tailored for pulse induction-based Metallic Mine Detectors (MMD), so called DL-MMD. Our methodology leverages deep neural networks to distinguish amongst nine distinct materials with an exceptional validation accuracy of 93.5%. This high level of precision enables us not only to differentiate between anti-personnel mines, without metal plates but also to detect minuscule 0.2-g vertical paper pins in both mineralized soil and non-mineralized environments. Moreover, through comparative analysis, we demonstrate a substantial 3% and 7% improvement (approx.) in accuracy performance compared to the traditional K-Nearest Neighbors and Support Vector Machine classifiers, respectively. The fusion of deep neural networks with the pulse induction-based MMD not only presents a cost-effective solution but also significantly expedites decision-making processes in de-mining operations, ultimately contributing to improved safety and effectiveness in these critical endeavors. The innovative application of Crowd Intelligent Devices (CIDS) in edge networks has garnered attention due to the rapid development of artificial intelligence and computer technology. This application offers users more reliable and low-latency computing services through computation offloading technology. However, the dynamic nature of network terminals and the limited coverage of edge servers pose challenges, such as data loss and service interruption. Furthermore, the high-speed mobility of intelligent terminals in the dynamic edge network environment further complicates the design of computation offloading and service migration strategies. To address these challenges, this paper explores the computation offloading model of cluster intelligence collaboration in a heterogeneous network environment. This model involves multiple intelligences collaborating to provide computation offloading services for terminals. To accommodate various roles, a switching strategy of split-cluster group collaboration is introduced, assigning the cluster head, the alternate cluster head, and the ordinary user are assigned to a group with different functions. Additionally, the paper formulates the optimal offloading strategy for group smart terminals as a Markov decision process, taking into account factors such as user mobility, service delay, service accuracy, and migration cost. To implement this strategy, the paper utilizes the deep reinforcement learning-based CCSMS algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed edge network service migration strategy, rooted in groupwise cluster collaboration, effectively mitigates interruption delay and enhances service migration efficiency. A drug molecule is a substance that changes an organism's mental or physical state. Every approved drug has an indication, which refers to the therapeutic use of that drug for treating a particular medical condition. While the Large Language Model (LLM), a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique, has recently demonstrated effectiveness in translating between molecules and their textual descriptions, there remains a gap in research regarding their application in facilitating the translation between drug molecules and indications (which describes the disease, condition or symptoms for which the drug is used), or vice versa. Addressing this challenge could greatly benefit the drug discovery process. The capability of generating a drug from a given indication would allow for the discovery of drugs targeting specific diseases or targets and ultimately provide patients with better treatments. In this paper, we first propose a new task, the translation between drug molecules and corresponding indications, and then test existing LLMs on this new task. Specifically, we consider nine variations of the T5 LLM and evaluate them on two public datasets obtained from ChEMBL and DrugBank. Our experiments show the early results of using LLMs for this task and provide a perspective on the state-of-the-art. We also emphasize the current limitations and discuss future work that has the potential to improve the performance on this task. The creation of molecules from indications, or vice versa, will allow for more efficient targeting of diseases and significantly reduce the cost of drug discovery, with the potential to revolutionize the field of drug discovery in the era of generative AI. With the rapid development of AI and big data mining technologies, computerized medical decision-making has become increasingly prominent. The aim of high-utility pattern mining (HUPM) is to discover meaningful patterns in medical databases that contribute to maximizing the utility from the perspective of diagnosis. However, HUPM pays less attention to the interpretability and explainability of these patterns in medical decision-making scenarios. This paper proposes a novel algorithm called the Improved fuzzy high-utility pattern mining (IF-HUPM) to address this problem. First, the paper applies a fuzzy preprocessing method to divide the fuzzy intervals of a medical quantitative data set, which enhances the fuzziness and interpretability of the data. Next, in the process of IF-HUPM, both fuzzy tree and list structures are employed to calculate fuzzy high-utility values. By combining the characteristics of the one-stage and two-stage algorithms of HUPM, an adaptive-phase Fuzzy HUPM hybrid frame is proposed. Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems are becoming widespread in all aspects of society, bringing benefits to the whole economy. There is a growing understanding of the potential benefits and risks of this type of technology. While the benefits are more efficient decision processes and industrial productivity, the risks may include a potential progressive disengagement of human beings in crucial aspects of decision-making. In this respect, a new perspective is emerging that aims at reconsidering the centrality of human beings while reaping the benefits of AI systems to augment rather than replace professional skills: Human-Centred AI (HCAI) is a novel framework that posits that high levels of human control do not contradict high levels of computer automation. In this paper, we investigate the two antipodes, automation vs augmentation, in the context of website usability evaluation. Specifically, we have analyzed whether the level of automation provided by a tool for semi-automatic usability evaluation can support evaluators in identifying usability problems. Three different visualizations, each one corresponding to a different level of automation, ranging from a full-automation approach to an augmentation approach, were compared in an experimental study. We found that a fully automated approach could help evaluators detect a significant number of medium and high-severity usability problems, which are the most critical in a software system; however, it also emerged that it was possible to detect more low-severity usability problems using one of the augmented approaches proposed in this paper., (© 2024. Recently, skin cancer is one of the spread and dangerous cancers around the world. Early detection of skin cancer can reduce mortality. Traditional methods for skin cancer detection are painful, time-consuming, expensive, and may cause the disease to spread out. Dermoscopy is used for noninvasive diagnosis of skin cancer. Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a vital role in diseases' diagnosis especially in biomedical engineering field. The automated detection systems based on AI reduce the complications in the traditional methods and can improve skin cancer's diagnosis rate. In this paper, automated early detection system for skin cancer dermoscopic images using artificial intelligent is presented. Adaptive snake (AS) and region growing (RG) algorithms are used for automated segmentation and compared with each other. The results show that AS is accurate and efficient (accuracy = 96%) more than RG algorithm (accuracy = 90%). Artificial Neural networks (ANN) and support vector machine (SVM) algorithms are used for automated classification compared with each other. The proposed system with ANN algorithm shows high accuracy (94%), precision (96%), specificity (95.83%), sensitivity (recall) (92.30%), and F1-score (0.94). The challenge of elderly care presents a formidable task, demanding the collective attention of governmental bodies and diverse sectors of society. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the research and development of Social Elderly Care Service (ECS) has emerged as a dominant trend, holding substantial importance in the establishment of an efficient ECS system. This study aims to serve as a comprehensive reference for the advancement of China's ECS system, achieved through the harmonious integration of a social ECS system with AI capabilities. This paper introduces the fundamental theory of AI, delving into the intricacies of the greyscale model of AI. Furthermore, it provides an overview of the current landscape of elderly care and elder care institutions, offering scientific data and insights to propel further research on AI development and system construction. Through an analysis of the existing research status, the study identifies prevalent issues within the AI-ECS integration, emphasizing pivotal factors influencing the construction of a robust social ECS system. To address these concerns, the study puts forth specific and viable policy recommendations. Notably, the questionnaire's statistics underscore that 83% of the elderly populace would opt for AI-driven solutions in selecting intelligent products, thereby underscoring the pivotal role of AI within the social ECS system. The challenges facing elderly care systems, including demographic shifts, resource constraints, and evolving societal norms, demand innovative solutions for providing efficient and effective care. This study addresses these challenges by exploring the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Social Elderly Care Services (ECS) in China. We have developed an innovative tool, the Intelligent Catchment Analysis Tool (iCAT), designed to identify and address healthcare disparities across specific regions. Powered by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, our tool employs a robust Geographic Information System (GIS) to map healthcare outcomes and disease disparities. iCAT allows users to query publicly available data sources, health system data, and treatment data, offering insights into gaps and disparities in diagnosis and treatment paradigms. This project aims to promote best practices to bridge the gap in healthcare access, resources, education, and economic opportunities. The project aims to engage local and regional stakeholders in data collection and evaluation, including patients, providers, and organizations. Their active involvement helps refine the platform and guides targeted interventions for more effective outcomes. In this paper, we present two sample illustrations demonstrating how iCAT identifies healthcare disparities and analyzes the impact of social and environmental variables on outcomes. Canine personality and behavioural characteristics have a significant influence on relationships between domestic dogs and humans as well as determining the suitability of dogs for specific working roles. As a result, many researchers have attempted to develop reliable personality assessment tools for dogs. Most previous work has analysed dogs' behavioural patterns collected via questionnaires using traditional statistical analytic approaches. Artificial Intelligence has been widely and successfully used for predicting human personality types. However, similar approaches have not been applied to data on canine personality. In this research, machine learning techniques were applied to the classification of canine personality types using behavioural data derived from the C-BARQ project. As the dataset was not labelled, in the first step, an unsupervised learning approach was adopted and K-Means algorithm was used to perform clustering and labelling of the data. Five distinct categories of dogs emerged from the K-Means clustering analysis of behavioural data, corresponding to five different personality types. Feature importance analysis was then conducted to identify the relative importance of each behavioural variable's contribution to each cluster and descriptive labels were generated for each of the personality traits based on these associations. The five personality types identified in this paper were labelled: "Excitable/Hyperattached", "Anxious/Fearful", "Aloof/Predatory", "Reactive/Assertive", and "Calm/Agreeable". Four machine learning models including Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Naïve Bayes, and Decision Tree were implemented to predict the personality traits of dogs based on the labelled data. The performance of the models was evaluated using fivefold cross validation method and the results demonstrated that the Decision Tree model provided the best performance with a substantial accuracy of 99%. Autoregressive language models, which use deep learning to produce human-like texts, have surged in prevalence. Despite advances in these models, concerns arise about their equity across diverse populations. While AI fairness is discussed widely, metrics to measure equity in dialogue systems are lacking. This paper presents a framework, rooted in deliberative democracy and science communication studies, to evaluate equity in human-AI communication. Using it, we conducted an algorithm auditing study to examine how GPT-3 responded to different populations who vary in sociodemographic backgrounds and viewpoints on crucial science and social issues: climate change and the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. We analyzed 20,000 dialogues with 3290 participants differing in gender, race, education, and opinions. We found a substantively worse user experience among the opinion minority groups (e.g., climate deniers, racists) and the education minority groups; however, these groups changed attitudes toward supporting BLM and climate change efforts much more compared to other social groups after the chat. GPT-3 used more negative expressions when responding to the education and opinion minority groups. Contrary to popular belief, agriculture is becoming more data-driven with artificial intelligence and Internet-of-Things (IoT) playing crucial roles. In this paper, the integrated processing executed by various sensors combined as an IoT pack and driving an intelligent agriculture management system designed for rainfall prediction and fruit health monitoring have been included. The proposed system based on an AI aided model makes use of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with long short-term memory (LSTM) layer for rainfall prediction and a CNN with SoftMax layer along with a few deep learning pre-trained models for fruit health monitoring. Another model that works as a combined rainfall predictor and fruit health recognizer is designed using a CNN + LSTM and a multi-head self-attention mechanism which proves to be effective. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in predictive analytics is growing in popularity. It has the power to offer ground-breaking solutions for a range of social problems and real world societal difficulties. It is helpful in addressing some of the social issues that today's world seems incapable of solving. One of the most significant phenomena affecting people's lives is divorce. The goal of this paper is to study the use of machine learning algorithms to determine the effectiveness of divorce predictor scale (DPS) and identify the reasons that usually lead to divorce in the scenario of Hail region, KSA. For this purpose, in this study, the DPS, based on Gottman couples therapy, was used to predict divorce by applying different machine learning algorithms. There were 54 items of the DPS used as features or attributes for data collection. In addition to the DPS, a personal information form was utilized to gather participants' personal data in order to conduct this study in a more structured and traditional manner. Out of 148 participants 116 participants were married whereas 32 were divorced. With the use of algorithms artificial neural network (ANN), naïve bayes (NB), and random forest (RF), the effectiveness of DPS was examined in this study. The correlation based feature selection method was used to identify the top six features from the same dataset and the highest accuracy rate was 91.66% with RF. The results show that DPS can predict divorce. This scale can help family counselors and therapists in case formulation and intervention plan development process. The growing expansion of the manufacturing sector, particularly in Mexico, has revealed a spectrum of nearshoring opportunities yet is paralleled by a discernible void in educational tools for various stakeholders, such as engineers, students, and decision-makers. This paper introduces a state-of-the-art framework, incorporating virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to metamorphose the pedagogy of advanced manufacturing systems. Through a case study focused on the design, production, and evaluation of a robotic platform, the framework endeavors to offer an exhaustive educational experience via an interactive VR environment, encapsulating (1) Robotic platform system design and modeling, enabling users to immerse themselves in the design and simulation of robotic platforms under varied conditions; (2) Virtual manufacturing company, presenting a detailed virtual manufacturing setup to enhance users' comprehension of manufacturing processes and systems, and problem-solving in realistic settings; and (3) Product evaluation, wherein users employ VR to meticulously assess the robotic platform, ensuring optimal functionality and customer satisfaction. It is a challenging and meaningful task to carry out UAV-based livestock monitoring in high-altitude (more than 4500 m on average) and cold regions (annual average – 4 °C) on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. The purpose of artificial intelligence (AI) is to execute automated tasks and to solve practical problems in actual applications by combining the software technology with the hardware carrier to create integrated advanced devices. Only in this way, the maximum value of AI could be realized. In this paper, a real-time tracking system with dynamic target tracking ability is proposed. It is developed based on the tracking-by-detection architecture using YOLOv7 and Deep SORT algorithms for target detection and tracking, respectively. In response to the problems encountered in the tracking process of complex and dense scenes, our work (1) Uses optical flow to compensate the Kalman filter, to solve the problem of mismatch between the target bounding box predicted by the Kalman filter (KF) and the input when the target detection in the current frame is complex, thereby improving the prediction accuracy; (2) Using a low confidence trajectory filtering method to reduce false positive trajectories generated by Deep SORT, thereby mitigating the impact of unreliable detection on target tracking. (3) A visual servo controller has been designed for the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to reduce the impact of rapid movement on tracking and ensure that the target is always within the field of view of the UAV camera, thereby achieving automatic tracking tasks. Finally, the system was tested using Tibetan yaks on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau as tracking targets, and the results showed that the system has real-time multi tracking ability and ideal visual servo effect in complex and dense scenes. Fairness has become a critical value online, and the latest studies consider it in many problems. In recommender systems, fairness is important since the visibility of items is controlled by systems. Previous fairness-aware recommender systems assume that sufficient relationship data between users and items are available. However, it is common that new users and items are frequently introduced, and they have no relationship data yet. In this paper, we study recommendation methods to enhance fairness in a cold-start state. Fairness is more significant when the preference of a user or the popularity of an item is unknown. We propose a meta-learning-based cold-start recommendation framework called FaRM to alleviate the unfairness of recommendations. The proposed framework consists of three steps. We first propose a fairness-aware meta-path generation method to eliminate bias in sensitive attributes. In addition, we construct fairness-aware user representations through the meta-path aggregation approach. Then, we propose a novel fairness objective function and introduce a joint learning method to minimize the trade-off between relevancy and fairness. In extensive experiments with various cold-start scenarios, it is shown that FaRM is significantly superior in fairness performance while preserving relevance accuracy over previous work. A substantial level of significance has been placed on renewable energy systems, especially photovoltaic (PV) systems, given the urgent global apprehensions regarding climate change and the need to cut carbon emissions. One of the main concerns in the field of PV is the ability to track power effectively over a range of factors. In the context of solar power extraction, this research paper performs a thorough comparative examination of ten controllers, including both conventional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controllers and artificial intelligence (AI) controllers. Various factors, such as voltage, current, power, weather dependence, cost, complexity, response time, periodic tuning, stability, partial shading, and accuracy, are all intended to be evaluated by the study. It is aimed to provide insight into how well each controller performs in various circumstances by carefully examining these broad parameters. The main goal is to identify and recommend the best controller based on their performance. It is notified that, conventional techniques like INC, P&O, INC-PSO, P&O-PSO, achieved accuracies of 94.3, 97.6, 98.4, 99.6 respectively while AI based techniques Fuzzy-PSO, ANN, ANFIS, ANN-PSO, PSO, and FLC achieved accuracies of 98.6, 98, 98.6, 98.8, 98.2, 98 respectively. The results of this study add significantly to our knowledge of the applicability and effectiveness of both AI and traditional MPPT controllers, which will help the solar industry make well-informed choices when implementing solar energy systems. Denim clothes are the must-have items of clothing around the world. This kind of fabrics is evolving with the increasing consumer demand in order to keep its place as a versatile article. In this context, this paper contributes to the development and dyeing of a new blend fabric made of cotton fibers and bicomponent polyester filaments (PET/PTT). A comparative study between the mechanical and thermal properties of this fabric and conventional fabrics has confirmed the great interest to use bicomponent (PET/PTT) filaments in the manufacture of denim fabrics; these bicomponent filaments allow to give to wearer the desired elasticity and comfort. For dyeing (cotton/bicomponent polyester filaments) blend fabric, three different processes, using reactive and disperse dyes, were tested and analyzed. These dyeing processes are: two-baths/two-phases, one-bath/two-phases, and one-bath/one-phase processes. In addition, in order to obtain uniform shades between cotton fibers dyed with reactive dyes and bicomponent polyester filaments dyed with disperse dyes, an ant colony algorithm was elaborated to predict the optimal dye recipes. By observing obtained results, the developed algorithm is very effective; it allows to find the combination of reactive dyes necessary to achieve the same shade obtained by the disperse dyes with very small color differences between the two components and without having to make corrections mainly for the one-bath/two-phases process. Indeed, dyeing using the two processes (two baths/two phases and one bath/two phases) presents the best values of color yield (K/S) with almost similar results (ΔECMC(2:1) < < 1). For the one-bath/one-phase process, it presents less significant results; We can observe ΔECMC(2:1) greater than 1 in certain shades. The timely and accurate diagnosis of candidemia, a severe bloodstream infection caused by Candida spp., remains challenging in clinical practice. Blood culture, the current gold standard technique, suffers from lengthy turnaround times and limited sensitivity. To address these limitations, we propose a novel approach utilizing an Electronic Nose (E-nose) combined with Time Series-based classification techniques to analyze and identify Candida spp. rapidly, using culture species of C. albicans, C.kodamaea ohmeri, C. glabrara, C. haemulonii, C. parapsilosis and C. krusei as control samples. This innovative method not only enhances diagnostic accuracy and reduces decision time for healthcare professionals in selecting appropriate treatments but also offers the potential for expanded usage and cost reduction due to the E-nose's low production costs. Our proof-of-concept experimental results, carried out with culture samples, demonstrate promising outcomes, with the Inception Time classifier achieving an impressive average accuracy of 97.46% during the test phase. In recent years, along with the rapid development in the domain of artificial intelligence and aerospace, aerospace combined with artificial intelligence is the future trend. As an important basic tool for Natural Language Processing, Named Entity Recognition technology can help obtain key relevant knowledge from a large number of aerospace data. In this paper, we produced an aerospace domain entity recognition dataset containing 30 k sentences in Chinese and developed a named entity recognition model that is Multi-Feature Fusion Transformer (MFT), which combines features such as words and radicals to enhance the semantic information of the sentences. In our model, the double Feed-forward Neural Network is exploited as well to ensure MFT better performance. We use our aerospace dataset to train MFT. Moreover, through comparative analysis, we demonstrate a substantial 3% and 7% improvement (approx.) in accuracy performance compared to the traditional K-Nearest Neighbors and Support Vector Machine classifiers, respectively. Automated disease diagnosis and prediction, powered by AI, play a crucial role in enabling medical professionals to deliver effective care to patients. While such predictive tools have been extensively explored in resource-rich languages like English, this manuscript focuses on predicting disease categories automatically from symptoms documented in the Afaan Oromo language, employing various classification algorithms. This study encompasses machine learning techniques such as support vector machines, random forests, logistic regression, and Naïve Bayes, as well as deep learning approaches including LSTM, GRU, and Bi-LSTM. Due to the unavailability of a standard corpus, we prepared three data sets with different numbers of patient symptoms arranged into 10 categories. The two feature representations, TF-IDF and word embedding, were employed. The performance of the proposed methodology has been evaluated using accuracy, recall, precision, and F1 score. The experimental results show that, among machine learning models, the SVM model using TF-IDF had the highest accuracy and F1 score of 94.7%, while the LSTM model using word2vec embedding showed an accuracy rate of 95.7% and F1 score of 96.0% from deep learning models. To enhance the optimal performance of each model, several hyper-parameter tuning settings were used. Artificial intelligence has demonstrated notable advancements in the realm of visual inspection and defect detection in substations. Nevertheless, practical application presents challenges, with issues arising from the dynamic shooting environment and limited dataset resulting in suboptimal defect identification accuracy and instability. To address these concerns, a pioneering approach based on hybrid pruning YOLOv5 and multiscale data augmentation is proposed for enhancing defect detection in substations. Initially, an enhanced multiscale data augmentation method is proposed. The improved multiscale data augmentation mitigates the impact of the time-varying shooting environment on recognition accuracy and enhances defect detection precision. Subsequently, YOLOv5 is employed for training and detecting defects within multi-scale image data. To alleviate the potential destabilizing effects of YOLOv5's large-scale parameters on model stability, a new model pruning method is implemented. Abstract A drug molecule is a substance that changes an organism’s mental or physical state. Every approved drug has an indication, which refers to the therapeutic use of that drug for treating a particular medical condition. While the Large Language Model (LLM), a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique, has recently demonstrated effectiveness in translating between molecules and their textual descriptions, there remains a gap in research regarding their application in facilitating the translation between drug molecules and indications (which describes the disease, condition or symptoms for which the drug is used), or vice versa. Addressing this challenge could greatly benefit the drug discovery process. The capability of generating a drug from a given indication would allow for the discovery of drugs targeting specific diseases or targets and ultimately provide patients with better treatments. In this paper, we first propose a new task, the translation between drug molecules and corresponding indications, and then test existing LLMs on this new task. Specifically, we consider nine variations of the T5 LLM and evaluate them on two public datasets obtained from ChEMBL and DrugBank. Our experiments show the early results of using LLMs for this task and provide a perspective on the state-of-the-art. We also emphasize the current limitations and discuss future work that has the potential to improve the performance on this task. The creation of molecules from indications, or vice versa, will allow for more efficient targeting of diseases and significantly reduce the cost of drug discovery, with the potential to revolutionize the field of drug discovery in the era of generative AI.

Abstract Fairness has become a critical value online, and the latest studies consider it in many problems. In recommender systems, fairness is important since the visibility of items is controlled by systems. Previous fairness-aware recommender systems assume that sufficient relationship data between users and items are available. However, it is common that new users and items are frequently introduced, and they have no relationship data yet. In this paper, we study recommendation methods to enhance fairness in a cold-start state. Fairness is more significant when the preference of a user or the popularity of an item is unknown. We propose a meta-learning-based cold-start recommendation framework called FaRM to alleviate the unfairness of recommendations. The proposed framework consists of three steps. We first propose a fairness-aware meta-path generation method to eliminate bias in sensitive attributes. In addition, we construct fairness-aware user representations through the meta-path aggregation approach. Then, we propose a novel fairness objective function and introduce a joint learning method to minimize the trade-off between relevancy and fairness. In extensive experiments with various cold-start scenarios, it is shown that FaRM is significantly superior in fairness performance while preserving relevance accuracy over previous work.

Abstract The challenge of elderly care presents a formidable task, demanding the collective attention of governmental bodies and diverse sectors of society. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the research and development of Social Elderly Care Service (ECS) has emerged as a dominant trend, holding substantial importance in the establishment of an efficient ECS system. This study aims to serve as a comprehensive reference for the advancement of China's ECS system, achieved through the harmonious integration of a social ECS system with AI capabilities. This paper introduces the fundamental theory of AI, delving into the intricacies of the greyscale model of AI. Furthermore, it provides an overview of the current landscape of elderly care and elder care institutions, offering scientific data and insights to propel further research on AI development and system construction. Through an analysis of the existing research status, the study identifies prevalent issues within the AI-ECS integration, emphasizing pivotal factors influencing the construction of a robust social ECS system. To address these concerns, the study puts forth specific and viable policy recommendations. Notably, the questionnaire's statistics underscore that 83% of the elderly populace would opt for AI-driven solutions in selecting intelligent products, thereby underscoring the pivotal role of AI within the social ECS system. The challenges facing elderly care systems, including demographic shifts, resource constraints, and evolving societal norms, demand innovative solutions for providing efficient and effective care. This study addresses these challenges by exploring the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Social Elderly Care Services (ECS) in China. By delving into the theory of AI and assessing the existing research status, the study identifies key issues in AI-ECS integration and proposes viable policy recommendations. Abstract The neural network method is a type of machine learning that has made significant advances over the past few years in a variety of fields, particularly text, speech, images, videos, etc. In areas where data is unstructured, traditional machine learning has not been able to surpass the ’glass ceiling’; therefore, researchers have turned to neural networks as auxiliary tools to achieve significant breakthroughs or develop new research methods. An array of computational chemistry challenges can be addressed using neural networks, including virtual screening, quantitative structure-activity relationships, protein structure prediction, materials design, quantum chemistry, and property prediction, among others. This paper proposes a strategy for predicting the chemical properties of fruits by using graph neural networks, and it aims to provide some guidance to researchers and streamline the identification process.

Abstract Many intrusion detection techniques have been developed to ensure that the target system can function properly under the established rules. With the booming Internet of Things (IoT) applications, the resource-constrained nature of its devices makes it urgent to explore lightweight and high-performance intrusion detection models. Recent years have seen a particularly active application of deep learning (DL) techniques. The spiking neural network (SNN), a type of artificial intelligence that is associated with sparse computations and inherent temporal dynamics, has been viewed as a potential candidate for the next generation of DL. It should be noted, however, that current research into SNNs has largely focused on scenarios where limited computational resources and insufficient power sources are not considered. Consequently, even state-of-the-art SNN solutions tend to be inefficient. In this paper, a lightweight and effective detection model is proposed. With the help of rational algorithm design, the model integrates the advantages of SNNs as well as convolutional neural networks (CNNs). In addition to reducing resource usage, it maintains a high level of classification accuracy. The proposed model was evaluated against some current state-of-the-art models using a comprehensive set of metrics. Based on the experimental results, the model demonstrated improved adaptability to environments with limited computational resources and energy sources.

Abstract Appropriate and rational management of the energy produced by renewable energy sources is one of the most urgent challenges for the global energy sector. This paper is devoted to the systematic experimental and theoretical studies of a modular solar charger based on silicon and dye-sensitized solar cells as an energy source, and supercapacitor as an energy bank. Using the MathCAD program, I–V characteristics were plotted for both a single cell and a photovoltaic module based on various series-to-parallel connections. To assess the surface quality of the modules, additional tests using a thermal imaging camera were carried out as well. The charging characteristics of the supercapacitor (two series-connected cells with a capacity of 300 F), were determined depending on the parameters of the photovoltaic module as well as considering the influence of the voltage balancing system and control system. The charge, discharge, and recharge characteristics were carefully analyzed to optimize the operating conditions, i.e. the number of photovoltaic cells. To evaluate the stability of parameters with operation time, and their temperature dependence (17–65 °C), solar modules were tested for ten days under Central European weather conditions. Importantly, a comparative analysis of solar chargers based on different configurations of photovoltaic cells showed an increase in electrical parameters for the proposed modular inorganic–organic concept compared to dye-sensitized solar cells produced alone on a rigid substrate. Finally, preliminary assumptions (requirements) were developed regarding the electrical and optical parameters for new dye-sensitized solar cells that could be used in the innovative solar charger instead of silicon cells along with a predicted role of artificial intelligence (AI) in these devices.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are tumor cells that separate from the solid tumor and enter the bloodstream, which can cause metastasis. Detection and enumeration of CTCs show promising potential as a predictor for prognosis in cancer patients. Furthermore, single-cells sequencing is a technique that provides genetic information from individual cells and allows to classify them precisely and reliably. Sequencing data typically comprises thousands of gene expression reads per cell, which artificial intelligence algorithms can accurately analyze. This work presents machine-learning-based classifiers that differentiate CTCs from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) based on single cell RNA sequencing data. We developed four tree-based models and we trained and tested them on a dataset consisting of Smart-Seq2 sequenced data from primary tumor sections of breast cancer patients and PBMCs and on a public dataset with manually annotated CTC expression profiles from 34 metastatic breast patients, including triple-negative breast cancer. Our best models achieved about 95% balanced accuracy on the CTC test set on per cell basis, correctly detecting 133 out of 138 CTCs and CTC-PBMC clusters. The European Leukemia Net recommendations provide valuable guidance in treatment decisions of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, the genetic complexity and heterogeneity of AML are not fully covered, notwithstanding that gene expression analysis is crucial in the risk stratification of AML. The Stellae-123 score, an AI-based model that captures gene expression patterns, has demonstrated robust survival predictions in AML patients across four western-population cohorts. This study aims to evaluate the applicability of Stellae-123 in a Taiwanese cohort. The Stellae-123 model was applied to 304 de novo AML patients diagnosed and treated at the National Taiwan University Hospital. We find that the pretrained (BeatAML-based) model achieved c-indexes of 0.631 and 0.632 for the prediction of overall survival (OS) and relapse-free survival (RFS), respectively. Model retraining within our cohort further improve the cross-validated c-indexes to 0.667 and 0.667 for OS and RFS prediction, respectively. Multivariable analysis identify both pretrained and retrained models as independent prognostic biomarkers. We further show that incorporating age, Stellae-123, and ELN classification remarkably improves risk stratification, revealing c-indices of 0.73 and 0.728 for OS and RFS, respectively. In summary, the Stellae-123 gene expression signature is a valuable prognostic tool for AML patients and model retraining can improve the accuracy and applicability of the model in different populations. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques into computational science has ushered in a new era of innovation and efficiency in various fields, with particular significance in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Several methods based on AI and Machine Learning (ML) have been standardized in many fields of computational science, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD). This study aims to couple CFD with artificial neural networks (ANNs) to predict the fluid forces that arise when a flowing fluid interacts with obstacles installed in the flow domain. The momentum equation elucidating the flow has been simulated by adopting the finite element method (FEM) for a range of rheological and kinematic conditions. Hydrodynamic forces, including pressure drop between the back and front of the obstacle, surface drag, and lift variations, are measured on the outer surface of the cylinder via CFD simulations. This data has subsequently been fed into a Feed-Forward Back (FFB) propagation neural network for the prediction of such forces with completely unknown data. For all cases, higher predictivity is achieved for the drag coefficient (CD) and lift coefficient (CL) since the mean square error (MSE) is within ± 2% and the coefficient of determination (R) is approximately 99% for all the cases. The influence of pertinent parameters like the power law index (n) and Reynolds number (Re) on velocity, pressure, and drag and lift coefficients is also presented for limited cases. Colorectal cancer (CRC) prevention requires early detection and removal of adenomas. We aimed to develop a computational model for real-time detection and classification of colorectal adenoma. Computationally constrained background based on real-time detection, we propose an improved adaptive lightweight ensemble model for real-time detection and classification of adenomas and other polyps. Firstly, we devised an adaptive lightweight network modification and effective training strategy to diminish the computational requirements for real-time detection. Secondly, by integrating the adaptive lightweight YOLOv4 with the single shot multibox detector network, we established the adaptive small object detection ensemble (ASODE) model, which enhances the precision of detecting target polyps without significantly increasing the model's memory footprint. We conducted simulated training using clinical colonoscopy images and videos to validate the method's performance, extracting features from 1148 polyps and employing a confidence threshold of 0.5 to filter out low-confidence sample predictions. Finally, compared to state-of-the-art models, our ASODE model demonstrated superior performance. In the test set, the sensitivity of images and videos reached 87.96% and 92.31%, respectively. Additionally, the ASODE model achieved an accuracy of 92.70% for adenoma detection with a false positive rate of 8.18%. Training results indicate the effectiveness of our method in classifying small polyps. We aimed to develop a new artificial intelligence software that can automatically extract and measure the volume of white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) in head magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using only thick-slice fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) sequences from multiple centers. We enrolled 1092 participants in Japan, comprising the thick-slice Private Dataset. Based on 207 randomly selected participants, neuroradiologists annotated WMHs using predefined guidelines. The annotated images of participants were divided into training (n = 138) and test (n = 69) datasets. The WMH segmentation model comprised a U-Net ensemble and was trained using the Private Dataset. Two other models were trained for validation using either both thin- and thick-slice MRI datasets or the thin-slice dataset alone. The voxel-wise Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) was used as the evaluation metric. The model trained using only thick-slice MRI showed a DSC of 0.820 for the test dataset, which is comparable to the accuracy of human readers. The model trained with the additional thin-slice dataset showed only a slightly improved DSC of 0.822. This automatic WMH segmentation model comprising a U-Net ensemble trained on a thick-slice FLAIR MRI dataset is a promising new method. Solar irrigation systems should become more practical and efficient as technology advances. Automation and AI-based technologies can optimize solar energy use for irrigation while reducing environmental impacts and costs. These innovations have the potential to make agriculture more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Solar irrigation system implementation can be hampered by a lack of technical expertise in installation, operation, and maintenance. It must be technically and economically feasible to be practical and continuous. Due to weather and solar irradiation, photovoltaic power generation is difficult for high-efficiency irrigation systems. As a result, more precise photovoltaic output calculations could improve solar power systems. Customers should benefit from increased power plant versatility and high-quality electricity. As a result, an artificial intelligence-powered automated irrigation power-generation system may improve the existing efficiency. To predict high-efficiency irrigation system power outputs, this study proposed a spatial and temporal attention block-based long-short-term memory (LSTM) model. Using MSE, RMSE, and MAE, the results have been compared to pre-existing ML and a simple LSTM network. Moreover, it has been found that our model outperformed cutting-edge methods. MAPE was improved by 6–7% by increasing Look Back (LB) and Look Forward (LF). Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have been central to the Deep Learning revolution and played a key role in initiating the new age of Artificial Intelligence. However, in recent years newer architectures such as Transformers have dominated both research and practical applications. While CNNs still play critical roles in many of the newer developments such as Generative AI, they are far from being thoroughly understood and utilised to their full potential. Here we show that CNNs can recognise patterns in images with scattered pixels and can be used to analyse complex datasets by transforming them into pseudo images with minimal processing for any high dimensional dataset, representing a more general approach to the application of CNNs to datasets such as in molecular biology, text, and speech. We introduce a pipeline called DeepMapper, which allows analysis of very high dimensional datasets without intermediate filtering and dimension reduction, thus preserving the full texture of the data, enabling detection of small variations normally deemed 'noise'. We demonstrate that DeepMapper can identify very small perturbations in large datasets with mostly random variables, and that it is superior in speed and on par in accuracy to prior work in processing large datasets with large numbers of features. Soil temperatures at both surface and various depths are important in changing environments to understand the biological, chemical, and physical properties of soil. This is essential in reaching food sustainability. However, most of the developing regions across the globe face difficulty in establishing solid data measurements and records due to poor instrumentation and many other unavoidable reasons such as natural disasters like droughts, floods, and cyclones. Therefore, an accurate prediction model would fix these difficulties. Uzbekistan is one of the countries that is concerned about climate change due to its arid climate. Therefore, for the first time, this research presents an integrated model to predict soil temperature levels at the surface and 10 cm depth based on climatic factors in Nukus, Uzbekistan. Eight machine learning models were trained in order to understand the best-performing model based on widely used performance indicators. Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model performed in accurate predictions of soil temperature levels at 10 cm depth. More importantly, the models developed here can predict temperature levels at 10 cm depth with the measured climatic data and predicted surface soil temperature levels. The model can predict soil temperature at 10 cm depth without any ground soil temperature measurements. Analyzing the correlation between cephalometric measurements is important for improving our understanding of the anatomy in the oral and maxillofacial region. To minimize bias resulting from the design of the input data and to establish a reference for malocclusion research, the aims of this study were to construct the input set by integrating nine cephalometric analyses and to study the correlation structure of cephalometric variables in Korean adults with normal occlusion. To analyze the complex correlation structure among 65 cephalometric variables, which were based on nine classical cephalometric analyses, network analysis was applied to data obtained from 735 adults (368 males, 367 females) aged 18–25 years with normal occlusion. The structure was better revealed through weighted network analysis and minimum spanning tree. Network analysis revealed cephalometric variable clusters and the inter- and intra-correlation structure. Some metrics were divided based on their geometric interpretation rather than their clinical significance. It was confirmed that various classical cephalometric analyses primarily focus on investigating nine anatomical features. Investigating the correlation between cephalometric variables through network analysis can significantly enhance our understanding of the anatomical characteristics in the oral and maxillofacial region, which is a crucial step in studying malocclusion using artificial intelligence. Voice change is often the first sign of laryngeal cancer, leading to diagnosis through hospital laryngoscopy. Screening for laryngeal cancer solely based on voice could enhance early detection. However, identifying voice indicators specific to laryngeal cancer is challenging, especially when differentiating it from other laryngeal ailments. This study presents an artificial intelligence model designed to distinguish between healthy voices, laryngeal cancer voices, and those of the other laryngeal conditions. We gathered voice samples of individuals with laryngeal cancer, vocal cord paralysis, benign mucosal diseases, and healthy participants. Comprehensive testing was conducted to determine the best mel-frequency cepstral coefficient conversion and machine learning techniques, with results analyzed in-depth. In our tests, laryngeal diseases distinguishing from healthy voices achieved an accuracy of 0.85–0.97. However, when multiclass classification, accuracy ranged from 0.75 to 0.83. Myelodysplastic syndrome is primarily characterized by dysplasia in the bone marrow (BM), presenting a challenge in consistent morphology interpretation. Accurate diagnosis through traditional slide-based analysis is difficult, necessitating a standardized objective technique. Over the past two decades, imaging flow cytometry (IFC) has proven effective in combining image-based morphometric analyses with high-parameter phenotyping. We have previously demonstrated the effectiveness of combining IFC with a feature-based machine learning algorithm to accurately identify and quantify rare binucleated erythroblasts (BNEs) in dyserythropoietic BM cells. However, a feature-based workflow poses challenges requiring software-specific expertise. Here we employ a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm for BNE identification and differentiation from doublets and cells with irregular nuclear morphology in IFC data. We demonstrate that this simplified AI workflow, coupled with a powerful CNN algorithm, achieves comparable BNE quantification accuracy to manual and feature-based analysis with substantial time savings, eliminating workflow complexity. Physicians' letters are the optimal source of diagnoses for registries. However, most registries demand for diagnosis codes such as ICD-10. We herein describe an algorithm that infers ICD-10 codes from German ophthalmologic physicians' letters. We assess the method in three German eye hospitals. Our algorithm is based on the nearest-neighbor method as well as on a large thesaurus for ICD-10 codes. This thesaurus was embedded into a Word2Vec space created from anonymized physicians' reports of the first hospital. For evaluation, each of the three hospitals sent all diagnoses taken from 100 letters. The inferred ICD-10 codes were evaluated for correctness by the senders. A total of 3332 natural language terms had been sent in (812 hospital one, 1473 hospital two, 1047 hospital three). A total of 526 non-diagnoses were excluded upfront. 2806 ICD-10 codes were inferred (771 hospital one, 1226 hospital two, 809 hospital three). In the first hospital, 98% were fully correct and 99% correct at the level of the superordinate disease concept. The percentages in hospital two were 69% and 86%. The respective numbers for hospital three were 69% and 91%. Our simple method is capable of inferring ICD-10 codes for German natural language diagnoses, especially when the embedding space has been built with physicians' letters from the same hospital. Breast cancer has rapidly increased in prevalence in recent years, making it one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Among all cancers, it is by far the most common. Diagnosing this illness manually requires significant time and expertise. Since detecting breast cancer is a time-consuming process, preventing its further spread can be aided by creating machine-based forecasts. Machine learning and Explainable AI are crucial in classification as they not only provide accurate predictions but also offer insights into how the model arrives at its decisions, aiding in the understanding and trustworthiness of the classification results. In this study, we evaluate and compare the classification accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 scores of five different machine learning methods using a primary dataset (500 patients from Dhaka Medical College Hospital). Five different supervised machine learning techniques, including decision tree, random forest, logistic regression, naive bayes, and XGBoost, have been used to achieve optimal results on our dataset. Additionally, this study applied SHAP analysis to the XGBoost model to interpret the model's predictions and understand the impact of each feature on the model's output. We compared the accuracy with which several algorithms classified the data, as well as contrasted with other literature in this field. Free-text analysis using machine learning (ML)-based natural language processing (NLP) shows promise for diagnosing psychiatric conditions. Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) has demonstrated preliminary initial feasibility for this purpose; however, whether it can accurately assess mental illness remains to be determined. This study evaluates the effectiveness of ChatGPT and the text-embedding-ada-002 (ADA) model in detecting post-traumatic stress disorder following childbirth (CB-PTSD), a maternal postpartum mental illness affecting millions of women annually, with no standard screening protocol. Using a sample of 1295 women who gave birth in the last six months and were 18+ years old, recruited through hospital announcements, social media, and professional organizations, we explore ChatGPT's and ADA's potential to screen for CB-PTSD by analyzing maternal childbirth narratives. The PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5; cutoff 31) was used to assess CB-PTSD. By developing an ML model that utilizes numerical vector representation of the ADA model, we identify CB-PTSD via narrative classification. Our model outperformed (F1 score: 0.81) ChatGPT and six previously published large text-embedding models trained on mental health or clinical domains data, suggesting that the ADA model can be harnessed to identify CB-PTSD. Every nation treasures its handloom heritage, and in India, the handloom industry safeguards cultural traditions, sustains millions of artisans, and preserves ancient weaving techniques. To protect this legacy, a critical need arises to distinguish genuine handloom products, exemplified by the renowned "gamucha" from India's northeast, from counterfeit powerloom imitations. Our study's objective is to create an AI tool for effortless detection of authentic handloom items amidst a sea of fakes. Six deep learning architectures—VGG16, VGG19, ResNet50, InceptionV3, InceptionResNetV2, and DenseNet201—were trained on annotated image repositories of handloom and powerloom towels (17,484 images in total, with 14,020 for training and 3464 for validation). A novel deep learning model was also proposed. Despite respectable training accuracies, the pre-trained models exhibited lower performance on the validation dataset compared to our novel model. The proposed model outperformed pre-trained models, demonstrating superior validation accuracy, lower validation loss, computational efficiency, and adaptability to the specific classification problem. Notably, the existing models showed challenges in generalizing to unseen data and raised concerns about practical deployment due to computational expenses. This study pioneers a computer-assisted approach for automated differentiation between authentic handwoven "gamucha"s and counterfeit powerloom imitations—a groundbreaking recognition method. Ultrashort pulses, characterized by their short pulse duration, diverse spectral content, and high peak power, are widely used in fields including laser processing, optical storage, biomedical sciences, and laser imaging. The complex, highly-nonlinear process of ultrashort pulse evolution within fiber lasers is influenced by numerous aspects such as dispersion, loss, gain, and nonlinear effects. Traditionally, the split-step Fourier transforms method is employed for simulating ultrashort pulses in fiber lasers, which involves traversing multiple parameters within the fiber to attain the pulse's optimal state. The simulation is a significantly time-consuming process. Here, we use a neural network model to fit and predict the impact of multiple parameters on the pulse characteristics within fiber lasers, enabling parameter optimization through genetic algorithms to determine the optimal pulse duration, pulse energy, and peak power. Integrating artificial intelligence algorithms simplifies the acquisition of optimal pulse parameters and enhances our understanding of multiple parameters' impact on the pulse characteristics. The purpose of this study is to deeply understand the psychological state of boxers before the competition, and explore an efficient boxing action classification and recognition model supported by artificial intelligence (AI) technology through these psychological characteristics. Firstly, this study systematically measures the key psychological dimensions of boxers, such as anxiety level, self-confidence, team identity, and opponent attitude, through psychological scale survey to obtain detailed psychological data. Then, based on these data, this study innovatively constructs a boxing action classification and recognition model based on BERT fusion 3D-ResNet, which not only comprehensively considers psychological information, but also carefully considers action characteristics to improve the classification accuracy of boxing actions. The performance evaluation shows that the model proposed in this study is significantly superior to the traditional model in terms of loss value, accuracy and F1 value, and the accuracy reaches 96.86%. Therefore, through the comprehensive application of psychology and deep learning, this study successfully constructs a boxing action classification and recognition model that can fully understand the psychological state of boxers, which provides strong support for the psychological training and action classification of boxers. Artificial intelligence-powered deep learning methods are being used to diagnose brain tumors with high accuracy, owing to their ability to process large amounts of data. Magnetic resonance imaging stands as the gold standard for brain tumor diagnosis using machine vision, surpassing computed tomography, ultrasound, and X-ray imaging in its effectiveness. Despite this, brain tumor diagnosis remains a challenging endeavour due to the intricate structure of the brain. This study delves into the potential of deep transfer learning architectures to elevate the accuracy of brain tumor diagnosis. Transfer learning is a machine learning technique that allows us to repurpose pre-trained models on new tasks. This can be particularly useful for medical imaging tasks, where labelled data is often scarce. Four distinct transfer learning architectures were assessed in this study: ResNet152, VGG19, DenseNet169, and MobileNetv3. The models were trained and validated on a dataset from benchmark database: Kaggle. Five-fold cross validation was adopted for training and testing. To enhance the balance of the dataset and improve the performance of the models, image enhancement techniques were applied to the data for the four categories: pituitary, normal, meningioma, and glioma. MobileNetv3 achieved the highest accuracy of 99.75%, significantly outperforming other existing methods. Artificial intelligence (AI) has great potential in ophthalmology. We investigated how ambiguous outputs from an AI diagnostic support system (AI-DSS) affected diagnostic responses from optometrists when assessing cases of suspected retinal disease. Thirty optometrists (15 more experienced, 15 less) assessed 30 clinical cases. For ten, participants saw an optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan, basic clinical information and retinal photography (‘no AI’). For another ten, they were also given AI-generated OCT-based probabilistic diagnoses (‘AI diagnosis’); and for ten, both AI-diagnosis and AI-generated OCT segmentations (‘AI diagnosis + segmentation’) were provided. Cases were matched across the three types of presentation and were selected to include 40% ambiguous and 20% incorrect AI outputs. Optometrist diagnostic agreement with the predefined reference standard was lowest for ‘AI diagnosis + segmentation’ (204/300, 68%) compared to ‘AI diagnosis’ (224/300, 75% p = 0.010), and ‘no Al’ (242/300, 81%, p = < 0.001). Agreement with AI diagnosis consistent with the reference standard decreased (174/210 vs 199/210, p = 0.003), but participants trusted the AI more (p = 0.029) with segmentations. Practitioner experience did not affect diagnostic responses (p = 0.24). More experienced participants were more confident (p = 0.012) and trusted the AI less (p = 0.038).
