With the establishment of the "double carbon" goal, various industries are actively exploring ways to reduce carbon emissions. Cloud data centers, represented by cloud computing, often have the problem of mismatch between load requests and resource supply, resulting in excessive carbon emissions. Based on this, this paper proposes a complete method for cloud computing carbon emission prediction. Firstly, the convolutional neural network and bidirectional long-term and short-term memory neural network (CNN-BiLSTM) combined model are used to predict the cloud computing load. The real-time prediction power is obtained by real-time prediction load of cloud computing, and then the carbon emission prediction is obtained by power calculation. Develop a dynamic server carbon emission prediction model, so that the server carbon emission can change with the change of CPU utilization, so as to achieve the purpose of low carbon emission reduction. In this paper, Google cluster data is used to predict the load. The experimental results show that the CNN-BiLSTM combined model has good prediction effect. Due to the uncertainty of weather conditions and the nonlinearity of high-dimensional data, as well as the need for a continuous and stable power supply to the power system, traditional regression analysis and time series forecasting methods are no longer able to meet the high accuracy requirements of today's PV power forecasting. To significantly improve the prediction accuracy of short-term PV output power, this paper proposes a short-term PV power forecasting method based on a hybrid model of temporal convolutional networks and gated recurrent units with an efficient channel attention network (TCN-ECANet-GRU) using the generated data of an Australian PV power station as the research object. First, temporal convolutional networks (TCNs) are used as spatial feature extraction layers, and an efficient channel attention network (ECANet) is embedded to enhance the feature capture capability of the convolutional network. Then, the GRU is used to extract the timing information for the final prediction. Finally, based on the experimental validation, the TCN-ECANet-GRU method generally outperformed the other baseline models in all four seasons of the year according to three performance assessment metrics: the normalized root mean square error (RMSE), normalized mean absolute error (MAE) and coefficient of determination (R2). The best RMSE, MAE and R2 reached 0.0195, 0.0128 and 99.72%, respectively, with maximum improvements of 11.32%, 8.57% and 0.38%, respectively, over those of the suboptimal model. Therefore, the model proposed in this paper is effective at improving prediction accuracy. Using the proposed method, this paper concludes with multistep predictions of 3, 6, and 9 steps, which also indicates that the proposed method significantly outperforms the other models. This paper aims to propose a table tennis target detection (TD) method based on deep learning (DL) and multi-scale feature fusion (MFF) to improve the detection accuracy of the ball in table tennis competition, optimize the training process of athletes, and improve the technical level. In this paper, DL technology is used to improve the accuracy of table tennis TD through MFF guidance. Initially, based on the FAST Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (FAST R-CNN), the TD is carried out in the table tennis match. Then, through the method of MFF guidance, different levels of feature information are fused, which improves the accuracy of TD. Through the experimental verification on the test set, it is found that the mean Average Precision (mAP) value of the target detection algorithm (TDA) proposed here reaches 87.3%, which is obviously superior to other TDAs and has higher robustness. This paper proposes an improved strategy for the MobileNetV2 neural network(I-MobileNetV2) in response to problems such as large parameter quantities in existing deep convolutional neural networks and the shortcomings of the lightweight neural network MobileNetV2 such as easy loss of feature information, poor real-time performance, and low accuracy rate in facial emotion recognition tasks. The network inherits the characteristics of MobilenetV2 depthwise separated convolution, signifying a reduction in computational load while maintaining a lightweight profile. It utilizes a reverse fusion mechanism to retain negative features, which makes the information less likely to be lost. The SELU activation function is used to replace the RELU6 activation function to avoid gradient vanishing. Meanwhile, to improve the feature recognition capability, the channel attention mechanism (Squeeze-and-Excitation Networks (SE-Net)) is integrated into the MobilenetV2 network. Experiments conducted on the facial expression datasets FER2013 and CK + showed that the proposed network model achieved facial expression recognition accuracies of 68.62% and 95.96%, improving upon the MobileNetV2 model by 0.72% and 6.14% respectively, and the parameter count decreased by 83.8%. The ubiquitous presence of electronic devices demands robust hardware security mechanisms to safeguard sensitive information from threats. This paper presents a physical unclonable function (PUF) circuit based on magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM). The circuit utilizes inherent characteristics arising from fabrication variations, specifically magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) cell resistance, to produce corresponding outputs for applied challenges. In contrast to Arbiter PUF, the proposed effectively satisfies the strict avalanche criterion (SAC). Additionally, the grid-like structure of the proposed circuit preserves its resistance against machine learning-based modeling attacks. Various machine learning (ML) attacks employing multilayer perceptron (MLP), linear regression (LR), and support vector machine (SVM) networks are simulated for two-array and four-array architectures. The MLP-attack prediction accuracy was 53.61% for a two-array circuit and 49.87% for a four-array circuit, showcasing robust performance even under the worst-case process variations. In addition, deep learning-based modeling attacks in considerable high dimensions utilizing multiple networks such as convolutional neural network (CNN), recurrent neural network (RNN), MLP, and Larq are used with the accuracy of 50.31%, 50.25%, 50.31%, and 50.31%, respectively. The efficiency of the proposed circuit at the layout level is also investigated for simplified two-array architecture. Over the past decade, the use of biometrics in security systems and other applications has grown in popularity. ECG signals in particular are attracting increased attention due to their characteristics, which are required for a trustworthy identification system. The majority of ECG-based person identification systems are evaluated without considering the health-state of the individuals. Few person identification systems consider person-by-person health-state annotation. This paper proposes a person identification system considering the health-state annotated ECG signals where each person's beats overlap among variant arrhythmia classes. This overlapping between the normal class and other arrhythmia classes grants the ability to isolate normal beats in the train set from the Arrhythmic beats in the test set. Therefore, this paper investigates the effect of arrhythmic heartbeats on biometric recognition. An effective lightweight CNN based on depth-wise separable convolution (DWSC) is proposed to enhance the performance of person identification for several common arrhythmia types using the MITBIH dataset. The proposed methodology has been tested on nine arrhythmia types and presents how different types of arrhythmia affect ECG-based biometric systems differently. In the actual production process of oil fields, the real-time and accurate acquisition of dynamic recorder data from the pumping unit is of great significance for the diagnosis of well failures. The traditional method of obtaining the card of the dynamometer usually includes installing a load sensor on the auxiliary head of the pumping unit. However, due to the harsh environment of the oil field production site, these load sensors often suffer from damage, distortion, and aging, resulting in large measurement errors and low reliability. This paper proposes a mixed model of pumping based on motor electrical parameter data and CNN convolutional neural network, which has good consistency with actual data in terms of predictive performance. Epilepsy is one of the most well-known neurological disorders globally, leading to individuals experiencing sudden seizures and significantly impacting their quality of life. Hence, there is an urgent necessity for an efficient method to detect and predict seizures in order to mitigate the risks faced by epilepsy patients. In this paper, a new method for seizure detection and prediction is proposed, which is based on multi-class feature fusion and the convolutional neural network-gated recurrent unit-attention mechanism (CNN-GRU-AM) model. Initially, the Electroencephalography (EEG) signal undergoes wavelet decomposition through the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), resulting in six subbands. Subsequently, time–frequency domain and nonlinear features are extracted from each subband. Finally, the CNN-GRU-AM further extracts features and performs classification. The CHB-MIT dataset is used to validate the proposed approach. The results of tenfold cross validation show that our method achieved a sensitivity of 99.24% and 95.47%, specificity of 99.51% and 94.93%, accuracy of 99.35% and 95.16%, and an AUC of 99.34% and 95.15% in seizure detection and prediction tasks, respectively. The results show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively achieve high-precision detection and prediction of seizures, so as to remind patients and doctors to take timely protective measures. The automated replacement of empty tubes in the yarn bank is a critical step in the process of automatic winding machines with yarn banks, as the real-time detection of depleted yarn on spools and accurate positioning of empty tubes directly impact the production efficiency of winding machines. Addressing the shortcomings of traditional methods, such as poor adaptability and low sensitivity in optical and visual tube detection, and aiming to reduce the computational and detection time costs introduced by neural networks, this paper proposes a lightweight yarn spool detection model based on YOLOv8. The model utilizes Darknet-53 as the backbone network, and due to the dense spatial distribution of yarn spool targets, it incorporates large selective kernel units to enhance the recognition and positioning of dense targets. To address the issue of excessive focus on local features by convolutional neural networks, a bi-level routing attention mechanism is introduced to capture long-distance dependencies dynamically. Furthermore, to balance accuracy and detection speed, a FasterNeck is constructed as the neck network, replacing the original convolutional blocks with Ghost convolutions and integrating with FasterNet. This design minimizes the sacrifice of detection accuracy while achieving a significant improvement in inference speed. Lastly, the model employs weighted IoU with a dynamic focusing mechanism as the bounding box loss function. Experimental results on a custom yarn spool dataset demonstrate a notable improvement over the baseline model, with a high-confidence mAP of 94.2% and a compact weight size of only 4.9 MB. In the realm of prognosticating the remaining useful life (RUL) of pivotal components, such as aircraft engines, a prevalent challenge persists where the available historical life data often proves insufficient. This insufficiency engenders obstacles such as impediments in performance degradation feature extraction, inadequacies in capturing temporal relationships comprehensively, and diminished predictive accuracy. To address this issue, a 1D CNN-GRU prediction model for few-shot conditions is proposed in this paper. In pursuit of more comprehensive data feature extraction and enhanced RUL prognostication precision, the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is selected for its capacity to discern high-dimensional features amid the intricate dynamics of the data. Concurrently, the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) network is leveraged for its robust capability in extracting temporal features inherent within the data. We combine the two to construct a CNN-GRU hybrid network. Moreover, the integration of data distribution alongside correlation and monotonicity indices is employed to winnow the input of multi-sensor monitoring parameters into the CNN-GRU network. Finally, the engine RULs are predicted by the trained model. In this paper, experiments are conducted on a sub-dataset of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) C-MAPSS multi-constraint dataset to validate the effectiveness of the method. The intelligent appearance quality classification method for Auricularia auricula is of great significance to promote this industry. This paper proposes an appearance quality classification method for Auricularia auricula based on the improved Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Networks (improved Faster RCNN) framework. The original Faster RCNN is improved by establishing a multiscale feature fusion detection model to improve the accuracy and real-time performance of the model. The multiscale feature fusion detection model makes full use of shallow feature information to complete target detection. It fuses shallow features with rich detailed information with deep features rich in strong semantic information. Since the fusion algorithm directly uses the existing information of the feature extraction network, there is no additional calculation. The fused features contain more original detailed feature information. Therefore, the improved Faster RCNN can improve the final detection rate without sacrificing speed. By comparing with the original Faster RCNN model, the mean average precision (mAP) of the improved Faster RCNN is increased by 2.13%. The average precision (AP) of the first-level Auricularia auricula is almost unchanged at a high level. The AP of the second-level Auricularia auricula is increased by nearly 5%. And the third-level Auricularia auricula AP is increased by 1%. The improved Faster RCNN improves the frames per second from 6.81 of the original Faster RCNN to 13.5. Accurate prediction of sea level height is critically important for the government in assessing sea level risk in coastal areas. However, due to the nonlinear, time-varying and highly uncertain characteristics of sea level change data, sea level prediction is challenging. To improve the accuracy of sea level prediction, this paper uses a new swarm intelligence algorithm named the sparrow search algorithm (SSA), which can imitate the foraging behavior and antipredation behavior of sparrows, to determine optimal solutions. To avoid the algorithm falling into a local optimal situation, this paper integrates the sine–cosine algorithm and the Cauchy variation strategy into the SSA to obtain an algorithm named the SCSSA. The SCSSA is used to optimize the parameter values of the CNN-BiLSTM (convolutional neural network combined with bidirectional long short-term memory neural network) model; finally, a combined neural network model (named SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM) is proposed. In this paper, the time series data of seven tidal stations located in coastal China are used for experimental analysis. First, the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model is compared with the CNN-BiLSTM model to predict the time series data of SHANWEI Station. With respect to the training and test sets of data, the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model outperforms the other models on all the evaluation metrics. In addition, the remaining six tide station datasets and five neural network models, including the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model, are used to further study the performance of the proposed prediction model. Four evaluation indices including the root mean squared error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and coefficient of determination (R2) are adopted. For six stations, the RMSE, MAE, MAPE and R2 of SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model are ranged from 20.9217 ~ 27.8427 mm, 9.4770 ~ 17.8603 mm, 0.1322% ~ 0.2482% and 0.9119 ~ 0.9759, respectively. The experimental analysis results show that the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model makes effective predictions at all stations, and the prediction performance is better than that of the other models. Even though the combination of SCSSA algorithm may increase the complexity of the model, indeed the proposed model is a new prediction method with good accuracy and robustness for predicting sea level change. This paper proposes a forward layer-wise learning algorithm for CNNs in classification problems. The algorithm utilizes the Separation Index (SI) as a supervised complexity measure to evaluate and train each layer in a forward manner. The proposed method explains that gradually increasing the SI through layers reduces the input data's uncertainties and disturbances, achieving a better feature space representation. Hence, by approximating the SI with a variant of local triplet loss at each layer, a gradient-based learning algorithm is suggested to maximize it. Inspired by the NGRAD (Neural Gradient Representation by Activity Differences) hypothesis, the proposed algorithm operates in a forward manner without explicit error information from the last layer. The algorithm's performance is evaluated on image classification tasks using VGG16, VGG19, AlexNet, and LeNet architectures with CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, Raabin-WBC, and Fashion-MNIST datasets. Additionally, the experiments are applied to text classification tasks using the DBPedia and AG's News datasets. Wearable sensors are widely used in medical applications and human–computer interaction because of their portability and powerful privacy. Human activity identification based on sensor data plays a vital role in these fields. Therefore, it is important to improve the recognition performance of different types of actions. Aiming at the problems of insufficient time-varying feature extraction and gradient explosion caused by too many network layers, a time convolution network recognition model with attention mechanism (TCN-Attention-HAR) was proposed. The model effectively recognizes and emphasizes the key feature information. The ability of extracting temporal features from TCN (temporal convolution network) is improved by using the appropriate size of the receiver domain. In addition, attention mechanisms are used to assign higher weights to important information, enabling models to learn and identify human activities more effectively. The performance of the Open Data Set (WISDM, PAMAP2 and USC-HAD) is improved by 1.13%, 1.83% and 0.51%, respectively, compared with other advanced models, these results clearly show that the network model presented in this paper has excellent recognition performance. In the knowledge distillation experiment, the parameters of student model are only about 0.1% of those of teacher model, and the accuracy of the model has been greatly improved, and in the WISDM data set, compared with the teacher's model, the accuracy is 0.14% higher. This paper realizes infrared image denoising, recognition, and semantic segmentation for complex electrical equipment and proposes a thermal fault diagnosis method that incorporates temperature differences. We introduce a deformable convolution module into the Denoising Convolutional Neural Network (DeDn-CNN) and propose an image denoising algorithm based on this improved network. By replacing Gaussian wrap-around filtering with anisotropic diffusion filtering, we suggest an image enhancement algorithm that employs Weighted Guided Filtering (WGF) with an enhanced Single-Scale Retinex (Ani-SSR) technique to prevent strong edge halos. Furthermore, we propose a refined detection algorithm for electrical equipment that builds upon an improved RetinaNet. This algorithm incorporates a rotating rectangular frame and an attention module, addressing the challenge of precise detection in scenarios where electrical equipment is densely arranged or tilted. We also introduce a thermal fault diagnosis approach that combines temperature differences with DeeplabV3 + semantic segmentation. The improved RetinaNet's recognition results are fed into the DeeplabV3 + model to further segment structures prone to thermal faults. The accuracy of component recognition in this paper achieved 87.23%, 86.54%, and 90.91%, with respective false alarm rates of 7.50%, 8.20%, and 7.89%. We propose a comprehensive method spanning from preprocessing through target recognition to thermal fault diagnosis for infrared images of complex electrical equipment, providing practical insights and robust solutions for future automation of electrical equipment inspections. In this study, the deep learning algorithm of Convolutional Neural Network long short-term memory (CNN–LSTM) is used to classify various jewelry rocks such as agate, turquoise, calcites, and azure from various historical periods and styles related to Shahr-e Sokhteh. Here, the CNN–LSTM architecture includes utilizing CNN layers for the extraction of features from input data mixed with LSTMs for supporting sequence forecasting. It should be mentioned that interpretable deep learning-assisted laser induced breakdown spectroscopy helped achieve excellent performance. For the first time, this paper interprets the Convolutional LSTM effectiveness layer by layer in self-adaptively obtaining LIBS features and the quantitative data of major chemical elements in jewelry rocks. Moreover, Lasso method is applied on data as a factor for investigation of interoperability. The results demonstrated that LIBS can be essentially combined with a deep learning algorithm for the classification of different jewelry songs. The global interest in market prediction has driven the adoption of advanced technologies beyond traditional statistical models. This paper explores the use of machine learning and deep learning techniques for stock market forecasting. We propose a comprehensive approach that includes efficient feature selection, data preprocessing, and classification methodologies. The wavelet transform method is employed for data cleaning and noise reduction. Feature selection is optimized using the Dandelion Optimization Algorithm (DOA), identifying the most relevant input features. A novel hybrid model, 3D-CNN-GRU, integrating a 3D convolutional neural network with a gated recurrent unit, is developed for stock market data analysis. Hyperparameter tuning is facilitated by the Blood Coagulation Algorithm (BCA), enhancing model performance. Our methodology achieves a remarkable prediction accuracy of 99.14%, demonstrating robustness and efficacy in stock market forecasting applications. While our model shows significant promise, it is limited by the scope of the dataset, which includes only the Nifty 50 index. Broader implications of this work suggest that incorporating additional datasets and exploring different market scenarios could further validate and enhance the model's applicability. The multi-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) is widely utilized in clinical diagnosis and monitoring of cardiac conditions. The advancement of deep learning has led to the emergence of automated multi-lead ECG diagnostic networks, which have become essential in the fields of biomedical engineering and clinical cardiac disease diagnosis. Intelligent ECG diagnosis techniques encompass Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), Transformers, and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). While CNN is capable of extracting local spatial information from images, it lacks the ability to learn global spatial features and temporal memory features. Conversely, RNN relies on time and can retain significant sequential features. However, they are not proficient in extracting lengthy dependencies of sequence data in practical scenarios. The self-attention mechanism in the Transformer model has the capability of global feature extraction, but it does not adequately prioritize local features and cannot extract spatial and channel features. This paper proposes STFAC-ECGNet, a model that incorporates CAMV-RNN block, CBMV-CNN block, and TSEF block to enhance the performance of the model by integrating the strengths of CNN, RNN, and Transformer. The CAMV-RNN block incorporates a coordinated adaptive simplified self-attention module that adaptively carries out global sequence feature retention and enhances spatial–temporal information. The CBMV-CNN block integrates spatial and channel attentional mechanism modules in a skip connection, enabling the fusion of spatial and channel information. The TSEF block implements enhanced multi-scale fusion of image spatial and sequence temporal features. In this study, comprehensive experiments were conducted using the PTB-XL large publicly available ECG dataset and the China Physiological Signal Challenge 2018 (CPSC2018) database. Chemical molecular structures are a direct and convenient means of expressing chemical knowledge, playing a vital role in academic communication. In chemistry, hand drawing is a common task for students and researchers. If we can convert hand-drawn chemical molecular structures into machine-readable formats, like SMILES encoding, computers can efficiently process and analyze these structures, significantly enhancing the efficiency of chemical research. Furthermore, with the progress of educational technology, automated grading is gaining popularity. When machines automatically recognize chemical molecular structures and assess the correctness of the drawings, it offers great convenience to teachers. We created ChemReco, a tool designed to identify chemical molecular structures involving three atoms: C, H, and O, providing convenience for chemical researchers. Currently, there are limited studies on hand-drawn chemical molecular structures. Therefore, the primary focus of this paper is constructing datasets. We propose a synthetic image method to rapidly generate images resembling hand-drawn chemical molecular structures, enhancing dataset acquisition efficiency. Regarding model selection, the hand-drawn chemical molecule structural recognition model developed in this article achieves a final recognition accuracy of 96.90%. Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) is a challenging task due to the complex structures and variations present in handwritten text. In recent years, the application of gated mechanisms, such as Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, has brought significant advancements to HTR systems. This paper presents an overview of HTR using a gated mechanism and highlights its novelty and advantages. The gated mechanism enables the model to capture long-term dependencies, retain relevant context, handle variable length sequences, mitigate error propagation, and adapt to contextual variations. The pipeline involves preprocessing the handwritten text images, extracting features, modeling the sequential dependencies using the gated mechanism, and decoding the output into readable text. The training process utilizes annotated datasets and optimization techniques to minimize transcription discrepancies. HTR using a gated mechanism has found applications in digitizing historical documents, automatic form processing, and real-time transcription. The results show improved accuracy and robustness compared to traditional HTR approaches. The advancements in HTR using a gated mechanism open up new possibilities for effectively recognizing and transcribing handwritten text in various domains. This research does a better job than the most recent iteration of the HTR system when compared to five different handwritten datasets (Washington, Saint Gall, RIMES, Bentham and IAM). Due to the large computational overhead, underutilization of features, and high bandwidth consumption in traditional SDN environments for DDoS attack detection and mitigation methods, this paper proposes a two-stage detection and mitigation method for DDoS attacks in SDN based on multi-dimensional characteristics. Firstly, an analysis of the traffic statistics from the SDN switch ports is performed, which aids in conducting a coarse-grained detection of DDoS attacks within the network. Subsequently, a Multi-Dimensional Deep Convolutional Classifier (MDDCC) is constructed using wavelet decomposition and convolutional neural networks to extract multi-dimensional characteristics from the traffic data passing through suspicious switches. Based on these extracted multi-dimensional characteristics, a simple classifier can be employed to accurately detect attack samples. Finally, by integrating graph theory with restrictive strategies, the source of attacks in SDN networks can be effectively traced and isolated. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method, which utilizes a minimal amount of statistical information, can quickly and accurately detect attacks within the SDN network. It demonstrates superior accuracy and generalization capabilities compared to traditional detection methods, especially when tested on both simulated and public datasets. Furthermore, by isolating the affected nodes, the method effectively mitigates the impact of the attacks, ensuring the normal transmission of legitimate traffic during network attacks. Trajectory similarity computation is very important for trajectory data mining. It is applied into many trajectory mining tasks, including trajectory clustering, trajectory classification and trajectory search etc. So efficient trajectory similarity computation method is very useful for improving trajectory mining result. Nowadays many trajectory similarity computation methods have been proposed. But most of them can not be applied into long trajectories similarity calculation efficiently. So a new algorithm called TrajGAT is proposed. This algorithm can calculate similarity for long trajectories. It treats long trajectory as a long sequence. By doing so, long-term dependency of long trajectory is considered by this algorithm while computing similarity value. But, the spatial feature of long trajectories is not considered. As long trajectory can be presented in many different shapes, if two long trajectories are judged as similar trajectories, the outline shape of these two trajectories should be similar as well. To solve this problem, a new trajectory similarity computation method is proposed in this paper. This method not only takes the long-term dependence feature into consideration, but also considers the outline feature of long trajectory. Alzheimer's disease (AD), the predominant form of dementia, is a growing global challenge, emphasizing the urgent need for accurate and early diagnosis. Current clinical diagnoses rely on radiologist expert interpretation, which is prone to human error. Deep learning has thus far shown promise for early AD diagnosis. However, existing methods often overlook focal structural atrophy critical for enhanced understanding of the cerebral cortex neurodegeneration. This paper proposes a deep learning framework that includes a novel structure-focused neurodegeneration CNN architecture named SNeurodCNN and an image brightness enhancement preprocessor using gamma correction. The SNeurodCNN architecture takes as input the focal structural atrophy features resulting from segmentation of brain structures captured through magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). As a result, the architecture considers only necessary CNN components, which comprises of two downsampling convolutional blocks and two fully connected layers, for achieving the desired classification task, and utilises regularisation techniques to regularise learnable parameters. Leveraging mid-sagittal and para-sagittal brain image viewpoints from the Alzheimer's disease neuroimaging initiative (ADNI) dataset, our framework demonstrated exceptional performance. The para-sagittal viewpoint achieved 97.8% accuracy, 97.0% specificity, and 98.5% sensitivity, while the mid-sagittal viewpoint offered deeper insights with 98.1% accuracy, 97.2% specificity, and 99.0% sensitivity. Model analysis revealed the ability of SNeurodCNN to capture the structural dynamics of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and AD in the frontal lobe, occipital lobe, cerebellum, temporal, and parietal lobe, suggesting its potential as a brain structural change digi-biomarker for early AD diagnosis. Blinding eye diseases are often related to changes in retinal structure, which can be detected by analysing retinal blood vessels in fundus images. However, existing techniques struggle to accurately segment these delicate vessels. Although deep learning has shown promise in medical image segmentation, its reliance on specific operations can limit its ability to capture crucial details such as the edges of the vessel. This paper introduces LMBiS-Net, a lightweight convolutional neural network designed for the segmentation of retinal vessels. LMBiS-Net achieves exceptional performance with a remarkably low number of learnable parameters (only 0.172 million). The network used multipath feature extraction blocks and incorporates bidirectional skip connections for the information flow between the encoder and decoder. In addition, we have optimised the efficiency of the model by carefully selecting the number of filters to avoid filter overlap. This optimisation significantly reduces training time and improves computational efficiency. To assess LMBiS-Net's robustness and ability to generalise to unseen data, we conducted comprehensive evaluations on four publicly available datasets: DRIVE, STARE, CHASE_DB1, and HRF The proposed LMBiS-Net achieves significant performance metrics in various datasets. It obtains sensitivity values of 83.60%, 84.37%, 86.05%, and 83.48%, specificity values of 98.83%, 98.77%, 98.96%, and 98.77%, accuracy (acc) scores of 97.08%, 97.69%, 97.75%, and 96.90%, and AUC values of 98.80%, 98.82%, 98.71%, and 88.77% on the DRIVE, STARE, CHEASE_DB, and HRF datasets, respectively. In addition, it records F1 scores of 83.43%, 84.44%, 83.54%, and 78.73% on the same datasets. Our evaluations demonstrate that LMBiS-Net achieves high segmentation accuracy (acc) while exhibiting both robustness and generalisability across various retinal image datasets. Technology offers a lot of potential that is being used to improve the integrity and efficiency of infrastructures. Crack is one of the major concerns that can affect the integrity or usability of any structure. Oftentimes, the use of manual inspection methods leads to delays which can worsen the situation. Automated crack detection has become very necessary for efficient management and inspection of critical infrastructures. Previous research in crack detection employed classification and localization-based models using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNNs). This study suggests and compares the effectiveness of transfer learned DCNNs for crack detection as a classification model and as a feature extractor to overcome this restriction. The main objective of this paper is to present various methods of crack detection on surfaces and compare their performance over 3 different datasets. Experiments conducted in this work are threefold: initially, the effectiveness of 12 transfer learned DCNN models for crack detection is analyzed on three publicly available datasets: SDNET, CCIC and BSD. With an accuracy of 53.40%, ResNet101 outperformed other models on the SDNET dataset. EfficientNetB0 was the most accurate (98.8%) model on the BSD dataset, and ResNet50 performed better with an accuracy of 99.8% on the CCIC dataset. Secondly, two image enhancement methods are employed to enhance the images and are transferred learned on the 12 DCNNs in pursuance of improving the performance of the SDNET dataset. The results from the experiments show that the enhanced images improved the accuracy of transfer-learned crack detection models significantly. Furthermore, deep features extracted from the last fully connected layer of the DCNNs are used to train the Support Vector Machine (SVM). As mechanized open-pit coal mining intensifies, assessing and predicting slope stability has become increasingly important. To address the limitations of traditional mechanical calculations, numerical simulations, and physical experiments, this paper identifies the key factors impacting slope stability in open-pit mines and develops a multi-parameter sample data set. The study employs hyperparameters optimized using a Bayesian algorithm, introduces additional convolutional layers, and combines the Adam optimizer with dropout techniques to enhance the feature extraction and performance of one-dimensional convolutional neural networks (1D-CNN). This leads to a Bayesian-optimized one-dimensional convolutional neural network (B-1D MCNN) model for predicting slope stability.The study evaluates the classification performance and accuracy of various models for slope stability, including BP neural networks, genetic algorithm-optimized convolutional neural networks, 1D-CNN, and B-1D MCNN, using accuracy, precision, and F1-score as metrics. Over the past decades, the software industry has expanded to include all industries. Since stakeholders tend to use it to get their work done, software houses seek to estimate the cost of the software, which includes calculating the effort, time, and resources required. Although many researchers have worked to estimate it, the prediction accuracy results are still inaccurate and unstable. Estimating it requires a lot of effort. Therefore, there is an urgent need for modern techniques that contribute to cost estimation. This paper seeks to present a model based on deep learning and machine learning techniques by combining convolutional neural networks (CNN) and the particle swarm algorithm (PSO) in the context of time series forecasting, which enables feature extraction and automatic tuning of hyperparameters, which reduces the manual effort of selecting parameters and contributes to fine-tuning. The use of PSO also enhances the robustness and generalization ability of the CNN model and its iterative nature allows for efficient discovery of hyperparameter similarity. The model was trained and tested on 13 different benchmark datasets and evaluated through six metrics: mean absolute error (MAE), mean square error (MSE), mean magnitude relative error (MMRE), root mean square error (RMSE), median magnitude relative error (MdMRE), and prediction accuracy (PRED). Comparative results reveal that the performance of the proposed model is better than other methods for all datasets and evaluation criteria. This work addresses a critical issue: the deterioration of concrete structures due to fine-grained cracks, which compromises their strength and longevity. To tackle this problem, experts have turned to computer vision (CV) based automated strategies, incorporating object detection and image segmentation techniques. Recent efforts have integrated complex techniques such as deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) and transformers for this task. However, these techniques encounter challenges in localizing fine-grained cracks. This paper presents a self-supervised 'you only look once' (SS-YOLO) approach that utilizes a YOLOv8 model. The novel methodology amalgamates different attention approaches and pseudo-labeling techniques, effectively addressing challenges in fine-grained crack detection and segmentation in concrete structures. It utilizes convolution block attention (CBAM) and Gaussian adaptive weight distribution multi-head self-attention (GAWD-MHSA) modules to accurately identify and segment fine-grained cracks in concrete buildings. Additionally, the assimilation of curriculum learning-based self-supervised pseudo-labeling (CL-SSPL) enhances the model's ability when applied to limited-size data. The efficacy and viability of the proposed approach are demonstrated through experimentation, results, and ablation analysis. Experimental results indicate a mean average precision (mAP) of at least 90.01%, an F1 score of 87%, and an intersection over union threshold greater than 85%. It is evident from the results that the proposed method yielded at least 2.62% and 4.40% improvement in mAP and F1 values, respectively, when tested on three diverse datasets. In remote sensing image fusion, the conventional Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) extract local features of the image through layered convolution, which is limited by the receptive field and struggles to capture global features. Transformer utilizes self-attention to capture long-distance dependencies in images, which has a global receptive field, but the computational cost for high-resolution images is excessively high. In response to the above issues, this paper draws inspiration from the FusionNet network, harnessing the local detail acquisition capability of CNNs and the global data procuring capacity of Transformer. It presents a novel method for remote sensing image sharpening named Guided Filtering-Cross Stage Partial Network-Transformer, abbreviated as GF-CSTNet. This solution unifies the strengths of Guided Filtering (GF), Cross Stage Partial Network (CSPNet), and Transformer. Firstly, this method utilizes GF to enhance the acquired remote sensing image data. The CSPNet and Transformer structures are then combined to further enhance fusion performance by leveraging their respective advantages. Subsequently, a Rep-Conv2Former method is designed to streamline attention and extract diverse receptive field features through a multi-scale convolution modulator block. Simultaneously, a reparameterization module is constructed to integrate the multiple branches generated during training into a unified branch during inference, thereby optimizing the model's inference speed. Finally, a residual learning module incorporating attention has been devised to augment the modeling and feature extraction capabilities of images. Experimental results obtained from the GaoFen-2 and WorldView-3 datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed GF-CSTNet approach. Knowledge distillation is an effective approach for training robust multi-modal machine learning models when synchronous multimodal data are unavailable. However, traditional knowledge distillation techniques have limitations in comprehensively transferring knowledge across modalities and models. This paper proposes a multiscale knowledge distillation framework to address these limitations. Specifically, we introduce a multiscale semantic graph mapping (SGM) loss function to enable more comprehensive knowledge transfer between teacher and student networks at multiple feature scales. We also design a fusion and tuning (FT) module to fully utilize correlations within and between different data types of the same modality when training teacher networks. Furthermore, we adopt transformer-based backbones to improve feature learning compared to traditional convolutional neural networks. We apply the proposed techniques to multimodal human activity recognition and compared with the baseline method, it improved by 2.31% and 0.29% on the MMAct and UTD-MHAD datasets. Sign language is an important way to provide expression information to people with hearing and speaking disabilities. Therefore, sign language recognition has always been a very important research topic. However, many sign language recognition systems currently require complex deep models and rely on expensive sensors, which limits the application scenarios of sign language recognition. To address this issue, based on computer vision, this study proposed a lightweight, dual-path background erasing deep convolutional neural network (DPCNN) model for sign language recognition. The DPCNN consists of two paths. One path is used to learn the overall features, while the other path learns the background features. The background features are gradually subtracted from the overall features to obtain an effective representation of hand features. Then, these features are flatten into a one-dimensional layer, and pass through a fully connected layer with an output unit of 128. Finally, use a fully connected layer with an output unit of 24 as the output layer. Based on the ASL Finger Spelling dataset, the total accuracy and Macro-F1 scores of the proposed method is 99.52% and 0.997, respectively. More importantly, the proposed method can be applied to small terminals, thereby improving the application scenarios of sign language recognition. To establish the sound quality evaluation model of roller chain transmission system, we collect the running noise under different working conditions. After the noise samples are preprocessed, a group of experienced testers are organized to evaluate them subjectively. Mel frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC) of each noise sample is calculated, and the MFCC feature map is used as an objective evaluation. Combining with the subjective and objective evaluation results of the roller chain system noise, we can get the original dataset of its sound quality research. However, the number of high-quality noise samples is relatively small. Based on the sound quality research of various chain transmission systems, a novel method called multi-source transfer learning convolutional neural network (MSTL-CNN) is proposed. By transferring knowledge from multiple source tasks to target task, the difficulty of small sample sound quality prediction is solved. Compared with the problem that single source task transfer learning has too much error on some samples, MSTL-CNN can give full play to the advantages of all transfer learning models. Agricultural dykelands in Nova Scotia rely heavily on a surface drainage technique called land forming, which is used to alter the topography of fields to improve drainage. The presence of land-formed fields provides useful information to better understand land utilization on these lands vulnerable to rising sea levels. Current field boundaries delineation and classification methods, such as manual digitalization and traditional segmentation techniques, are labour-intensive and often require manual and time-consuming parameter selection. In recent years, deep learning (DL) techniques, including convolutional neural networks and Mask R-CNN, have shown promising results in object recognition, image classification, and segmentation tasks. However, there is a gap in applying these techniques to detecting surface drainage patterns on agricultural fields. This paper develops and tests a Mask R-CNN model for detecting land-formed fields on agricultural dykelands using LiDAR-derived elevation data. Specifically, our approach focuses on identifying groups of pixels as cohesive objects within the imagery, a method that represents a significant advancement over pixel-by-pixel classification techniques. The DL model developed in this study demonstrated a strong overall performance, with a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 0.89 across Intersection over Union (IoU) thresholds from 0.5 to 0.95, indicating its effectiveness in detecting land-formed fields. Results also revealed that 53% of Nova Scotia's dykelands are being used for agricultural purposes and approximately 75% (6924 hectares) of these fields were land-formed. By applying deep learning techniques to LiDAR-derived elevation data, this study offers novel insights into surface drainage mapping, enhancing the capability for precise and efficient agricultural land management in regions vulnerable to environmental changes. Attention as a cognition ability plays a crucial role in perception which helps humans to concentrate on specific objects of the environment while discarding others. In this paper, auditory attention detection (AAD) is investigated using different dynamic features extracted from multichannel electroencephalography (EEG) signals when listeners attend to a target speaker in the presence of a competing talker. To this aim, microstate and recurrence quantification analysis are utilized to extract different types of features that reflect changes in the brain state during cognitive tasks. Then, an optimized feature set is determined by employing the processes of significant feature selection based on classification performance. The classifier model is developed by hybrid sequential learning that employs Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) into a unified framework for accurate attention detection. The proposed AAD method shows that the selected feature set achieves the most discriminative features for the classification process. Also, it yields the best performance as compared with state-of-the-art AAD approaches from the literature in terms of various measures. For the brain-computer interface (BCI) system based on steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP), it is difficult to obtain satisfactory classification performance for short-time window SSVEP signals by traditional methods. In this paper, a fused multi-subfrequency bands and convolutional block attention module (CBAM) classification method based on convolutional neural network (CBAM-CNN) is proposed for discerning SSVEP-BCI tasks. This method extracts multi-subfrequency bands SSVEP signals as the initial input of the network model, and then carries out feature fusion on all feature inputs. In addition, CBAM is embedded in both parts of the initial input and feature fusion for adaptive feature refinement. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, this study uses the datasets of Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT) and Tsinghua University (THU) to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show that the highest accuracy of CBAM-CNN reaches 0.9813 percentage point (pp). Within 0.1–2 s time window, the accuracy of CBAM-CNN is 0.0201–0.5388 (pp) higher than that of CNN, CCA-CWT-SVM, CCA-SVM, CCA-GNB, FBCCA, and CCA. Especially in the short-time window range of 0.1–1 s, the performance advantage of CBAM-CNN is more significant. The maximum information transmission rate (ITR) of CBAM-CNN is 503.87 bit/min, which is 227.53 bit/min-503.41 bit/min higher than the above six EEG decoding methods. Rib fractures are highly predictive of non-accidental trauma in children under 3 years old. Rib fracture detection in pediatric radiographs is challenging because fractures can be obliquely oriented to the imaging detector, obfuscated by other structures, incomplete, and non-displaced. Prior studies have shown up to two-thirds of rib fractures may be missed during initial interpretation. In this paper, we implemented methods for improving the sensitivity (i.e. recall) performance for detecting and localizing rib fractures in pediatric chest radiographs to help augment performance of radiology interpretation. These methods adapted two convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures, RetinaNet and YOLOv5, and our previously proposed decision scheme, "avalanche decision", that dynamically reduces the acceptance threshold for proposed regions in each image. Additionally, we present contributions of using multiple image pre-processing and model ensembling techniques. Using a custom dataset of 1109 pediatric chest radiographs manually labeled by seven pediatric radiologists, we performed 10-fold cross-validation and reported detection performance using several metrics, including F2 score which summarizes precision and recall for high-sensitivity tasks. Our best performing model used three ensembled YOLOv5 models with varied input processing and an avalanche decision scheme, achieving an F2 score of 0.725 ± 0.012. Expert inter-reader performance yielded an F2 score of 0.732. Results demonstrate that our combination of sensitivity-driving methods provides object detector performance approaching the capabilities of expert human readers, suggesting that these methods may provide a viable approach to identify all rib fractures. This paper presents a study on the effectiveness of a convolutional neural network (CNN) in classifying infrared images for security scanning. Infrared thermography was explored as a non-invasive security scanner for stand-off and walk-through concealed object detection. Heat generated by human subjects radiates off the clothing surface, allowing detection by an infrared camera. However, infrared lacks in penetration capability compared to longer electromagnetic waves, leading to less obvious visuals on the clothing surface. ResNet-50 was used as the CNN model to automate the classification process of thermal images. The ImageNet database was used to pre-train the model, which was further fine-tuned using infrared images obtained from experiments. Four image pre-processing approaches were explored, i.e., raw infrared image, subject cropped region-of-interest (ROI) image, K-means, and Fuzzy-c clustered images. All these approaches were evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic curve on an internal holdout set, with an area-under-the-curve of 0.8923, 0.9256, 0.9485, and 0.9669 for the raw image, ROI cropped, K-means, and Fuzzy-c models, respectively. The CNN models trained using various image pre-processing approaches suggest that the prediction performance can be improved by the removal of non-decision relevant information and the visual highlighting of features. This paper delves into the specialized domain of human action recognition, focusing on the Identification of Indian classical dance poses, specifically Bharatanatyam. Within the dance context, a "Karana" embodies a synchronized and harmonious movement encompassing body, hands, and feet, as defined by the Natyashastra. The essence of Karana lies in the amalgamation of nritta hasta (hand movements), sthaana (body postures), and chaari (leg movements). Although numerous, Natyashastra codifies 108 karanas, showcased in the intricate stone carvings adorning the Nataraj temples of Chidambaram, where Lord Shiva's association with these movements is depicted. Automating pose identification in Bharatanatyam poses challenges due to the vast array of variations, encompassing hand and body postures, mudras (hand gestures), facial expressions, and head gestures. To simplify this intricate task, this research employs image processing and automation techniques. Medical image fusion aims to fuse multiple images from a single or multiple imaging modes to enhance their corresponding clinical applications in diagnosing and evaluating medical problems, a trend that has attracted increasing attention. However, most recent medical image fusion methods require prior knowledge, making it difficult to select image features. In this paper, we propose a novel deep medical image fusion method based on a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) for directly learning image features from original images. Specifically, source images are first decomposed by low rank representation to obtain the principal and salient components, respectively. Following that, the deep features are extracted from the decomposed principal components via DCNN and fused by a weighted-average rule. Then, considering the complementary between the salient components obtained by the low rank representation, a simple yet effective sum rule is designed to fuse the salient components. Finally, the fused result is obtained by reconstructing the principal and salient components. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms several state-of-the-art medical image fusion approaches in terms of both objective indices and visual quality. Cracks are the primary indicator informing the structural health of concrete structures. Frequent inspection is essential for maintenance, and automatic crack inspection offers a significant advantage, given its efficiency and accuracy. Previously, image-based crack detection systems have been utilized for individual images, yet these systems are not effective for large inspection areas. This paper thereby proposes an image-based crack detection system using a Deep Convolution Neural Network (DCNN) to identify cracks in mosaic images composed from UAV photos of concrete footings. UAV images are transformed into 3D footing models, from which the composite images are created. The CNN model is trained on 224 × 224 pixel patches, and training samples are augmented by various image transformation techniques. The proposed method is applied to localize cracks on composite images through the sliding window technique. The radiator with heat transfer capability is able to guarantee the stable operation of hydro generator set, while the long-term and continuous scouring on radiator pipes by cooling medium will lead to thinning or even perforation of pipe wall, which triggers wall failure. This paper analyzes and predicts the failure mechanism of radiator's pipe wall, and investigates the effects of water flow velocity, sand content and sand particle size on erosion damage of radiator pipe by establishing a test bench for pipe erosion. The results show that the increase of above parameters will lead to the increasing erosion rate, especially when the sand content is 1%, the velocity is 8 m/s and the sand particle size is 0.85 mm, the erosion damage will be particularly serious. Based on experimental data, BP and LSSVM models are employed to predict the pipe wall failure, and PSO algorithm is used to optimize the two models. The optimized PSO-BP has the highest accuracy with the mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.2070 and the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 4.702%. Colorectal cancer (CRC) exhibits a significant death rate that consistently impacts human lives worldwide. Histopathological examination is the standard method for CRC diagnosis. However, it is complicated, time-consuming, and subjective. Computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) systems using digital pathology can help pathologists diagnose CRC faster and more accurately than manual histopathology examinations. Deep learning algorithms especially convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are advocated for diagnosis of CRC. Nevertheless, most previous CAD systems obtained features from one CNN, these features are of huge dimension. Also, they relied on spatial information only to achieve classification. In this paper, a CAD system is proposed called "Color-CADx" for CRC recognition. Different CNNs namely ResNet50, DenseNet201, and AlexNet are used for end-to-end classification at different training–testing ratios. Moreover, features are extracted from these CNNs and reduced using discrete cosine transform (DCT). DCT is also utilized to acquire spectral representation. Afterward, it is used to further select a reduced set of deep features. Furthermore, DCT coefficients obtained in the previous step are concatenated and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) feature selection approach is applied to choose significant features. Finally, machine learning classifiers are employed for CRC classification. Two publicly available datasets were investigated which are the NCT-CRC-HE-100 K dataset and the Kather_texture_2016_image_tiles dataset. The highest achieved accuracy reached 99.3% for the NCT-CRC-HE-100 K dataset and 96.8% for the Kather_texture_2016_image_tiles dataset. DCT and ANOVA have successfully lowered feature dimensionality thus reducing complexity. Link prediction in complex networks aims to mine hidden or to-be-generated links between network nodes, which plays a significant role in fields such as the cold start of recommendation systems, knowledge graph completion and biomedical experiments. The existing link prediction models based on graph neural networks, such as graph convolution neural networks, often only learn the low-frequency information reflecting the common characteristics of nodes while ignoring the high-frequency information reflecting the differences between nodes when learning node representation, which makes the corresponding link prediction models show over smoothness and poor performance. Focusing on links in complex networks, this paper proposes an edge convolutional graph neural network EdgeConvHiF that fuses high-frequency node information to achieve the representation learning of links so that link prediction can be realized by implementing the classification of links. EdgeConvHiF can also be employed as a baseline, and extensive experiments on real-world benchmarks validate that EdgeConvHiF not only has high stability but also has more advantages than the existing representative baselines. Low-rate distributed denial of service attacks, as known as LDDoS attacks, pose the notorious security risks in cloud computing network. They overload the cloud servers and degrade network service quality with the stealthy strategy. Furthermore, this kind of small ratio and pulse-like abnormal traffic leads to a serious data scale problem. As a result, the existing models for detecting minority and adversary LDDoS attacks are insufficient in both detection accuracy and time consumption. This paper proposes a novel multi-scale Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and bidirectional Long-short Term Memory (bi-LSTM) arbitration dense network model (called MSCBL-ADN) for learning and detecting LDDoS attack behaviors under the condition of limited dataset and time consumption. The MSCBL-ADN incorporates CNN for preliminary spatial feature extraction and embedding-based bi-LSTM for time relationship extraction. And then, it employs arbitration network to re-weigh feature importance for higher accuracy. At last, it uses 2-block dense connection network to perform final classification. The experimental results conducted on popular ISCX-2016-SlowDos dataset have demonstrated that the proposed MSCBL-ADN model has a significant improvement with high detection accuracy and superior time performance over the state-of-the-art models. Any kidney dimension and volume variation can be a remarkable indicator of kidney disorders. Precise kidney segmentation in standard planes plays an undeniable role in predicting kidney size and volume. On the other hand, ultrasound is the modality of choice in diagnostic procedures. This paper proposes a convolutional neural network with nested layers, namely Fast-Unet++, promoting the Fast and accurate Unet model. First, the model was trained and evaluated for segmenting sagittal and axial images of the kidney. Then, the predicted masks were used to estimate the kidney image biomarkers, including its volume and dimensions (length, width, thickness, and parenchymal thickness). Finally, the proposed model was tested on a publicly available dataset with various shapes and compared with the related networks. Moreover, the network was evaluated using a set of patients who had undergone ultrasound and computed tomography. The dice metric, Jaccard coefficient, and mean absolute distance were used to evaluate the segmentation step. 0.97, 0.94, and 3.23 mm for the sagittal frame, and 0.95, 0.9, and 3.87 mm for the axial frame were achieved. The problem of change detection in remote sensing image processing is both difficult and important. It is extensively used in a variety of sectors, including land resource planning, monitoring and forecasting of agricultural plant health, and monitoring and assessment of natural disasters. Remote sensing images provide a large amount of long-term and fully covered data for earth environmental monitoring. A lot of progress has been made thanks to deep learning's quick development. But the majority of deep learning-based change detection techniques currently in use rely on the well-known Convolutional neural network (CNN). However, considering the locality of convolutional operation, CNN unable to master the interplay between global and distant semantic information. Some researches has employ Vision Transformer as a backbone in remote sensing field. Inspired by these researches, in this paper, we propose a network named Siam-Swin-Unet, which is a Siamesed pure Transformer with U-shape construction for remote sensing image change detection. Swin Transformer is a hierarchical vision transformer with shifted windows that can extract global feature. To learn local and global semantic feature information, the dual-time image are fed into Siam-Swin-Unet which is composed of Swin Transformer, Unet Siamesenet and two feature fusion module. Considered the Unet and Siamesenet are effective for change detection, We applied it to the model. The feature fusion module is designed for fusion of dual-time image features, and is efficient and low-compute confirmed by our experiments. Skin cancer is a frequently occurring and possibly deadly disease that necessitates prompt and precise diagnosis in order to ensure efficacious treatment. This paper introduces an innovative approach for accurately identifying skin cancer by utilizing Convolution Neural Network architecture and optimizing hyperparameters. The proposed approach aims to increase the precision and efficacy of skin cancer recognition and consequently enhance patients' experiences. This investigation aims to tackle various significant challenges in skin cancer recognition, encompassing feature extraction, model architecture design, and optimizing hyperparameters. The proposed model utilizes advanced deep-learning methodologies to extract complex features and patterns from skin cancer images. We enhance the learning procedure of deep learning by integrating Standard U-Net and Improved MobileNet-V3 with optimization techniques, allowing the model to differentiate malignant and benign skin cancers. Also substituted the crossed-entropy loss function of the Mobilenet-v3 mathematical framework with a bias loss function to enhance the accuracy. The model's squeeze and excitation component was replaced with the practical channel attention component to achieve parameter reduction. Integrating cross-layer connections among Mobile modules has been proposed to leverage synthetic features effectively. The dilated convolutions were incorporated into the model to enhance the receptive field. The optimization of hyperparameters is of utmost importance in improving the efficiency of deep learning models. To fine-tune the model's hyperparameter, we employ sophisticated optimization methods such as the Bayesian optimization method using pre-trained CNN architecture MobileNet-V3. The proposed model is compared with existing models, i.e., MobileNet, VGG-16, MobileNet-V2, Resnet-152v2 and VGG-19 on the "HAM-10000 Melanoma Skin Cancer dataset". The empirical findings illustrate that the proposed optimized hybrid MobileNet-V3 model outperforms existing skin cancer detection and segmentation techniques based on high precision of 97.84%, sensitivity of 96.35%, accuracy of 98.86% and specificity of 97.32%. A key challenge in quantum photonics today is the efficient and on-demand generation of high-quality single photons and entangled photon pairs. In this regard, one of the most promising types of emitters are semiconductor quantum dots, fluorescent nanostructures also described as artificial atoms. The main technological challenge in upscaling to an industrial level is the typically random spatial and spectral distribution in their growth. Furthermore, depending on the intended application, different requirements are imposed on a quantum dot, which are reflected in its spectral properties. Given that an in-depth suitability analysis is lengthy and costly, it is common practice to pre-select promising candidate quantum dots using their emission spectrum. Currently, this is done by hand. Therefore, to automate and expedite this process, in this paper, we propose a data-driven machine-learning-based method of evaluating the applicability of a semiconductor quantum dot as single photon source. For this, first, a minimally redundant, but maximally relevant feature representation for quantum dot emission spectra is derived by combining conventional spectral analysis with an autoencoding convolutional neural network. The obtained feature vector is subsequently used as input to a neural network regression model, which is specifically designed to not only return a rating score, gauging the technical suitability of a quantum dot, but also a measure of confidence for its evaluation. For training and testing, a large dataset of self-assembled InAs/GaAs semiconductor quantum dot emission spectra is used, partially labelled by a team of experts in the field. Overall, highly convincing results are achieved, as quantum dots are reliably evaluated correctly. Note, that the presented methodology can account for different spectral requirements and is applicable regardless of the underlying photonic structure, fabrication method and material composition. We therefore consider it the first step towards a fully integrated evaluation framework for quantum dots, proving the use of machine learning beneficial in the advancement of future quantum technologies. With the advancement of technology, the demand for increased production efficiency has gradually risen, leading to the emergence of new trends in agricultural automation and intelligence. Precision classification models play a crucial role in helping farmers accurately identify, classify, and process various agricultural products, thereby enhancing production efficiency and maximizing the economic value of agricultural products. The current MobileNetV2 network model is capable of performing the aforementioned tasks. However, it tends to exhibit recognition biases when identifying different subcategories within agricultural product varieties. To address this challenge, this paper introduces an improved MobileNetV2 convolutional neural network model. Firstly, inspired by the Inception module in GoogLeNet, we combine the improved Inception module with the original residual module, innovatively proposing a new Res-Inception module. Additionally, to further enhance the model's accuracy in detection tasks, we introduce an efficient multi-scale cross-space learning module (EMA) and embed it into the backbone structure of the network. Experimental results on the Fruit-360 dataset demonstrate that the improved MobileNetV2 outperforms the original MobileNetV2 in agricultural product classification tasks, with an accuracy increase of 1.86%.
