Remote sensing is currently showing high potential to provide valuable information at various spatial and temporal scales concerning natural hazards and their associated risks. Recent advances in technology and processing methods have strongly contributed to the development of disaster risk reduction research. In this Special Issue titled "Remote Sensing for Natural Hazards Assessment and Control", we propose state-of-the-art research that specifically addresses multiple aspects of the use of remote sensing for natural hazards. The aim was to collect innovative methodologies, expertise, and capabilities to detect, assess monitor, and model natural hazards. In this regard, 18 open-access papers showcase scientific studies based on the exploitation of a broad range of remote sensing data and techniques, as well as focusing on a well-assorted sample of natural hazard types. Covering the full texts of all papers published in MDPI's Remote Sensing between 2009 and 2021, in-depth scientometric analyses were conducted. Trends in publications show an increase in the overall number of papers. A relative increase in papers using SAR sensors and a relative decrease in papers using optical remote sensing can also be seen. The full-text analyses reveal distinctive styles and writing patterns for papers from different sub-fields of remote sensing and for different countries and even cities. While a slight increase in the readability of abstracts is detected over time, the overall readability of papers is decreasing. Institutional co-authorship analysis reveals the ongoing 'scientific decoupling' between China and the USA in remote sensing. Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) data is inherently characterized by speckle noise, which significantly deteriorates certain aspects of the quality of the PolSAR data processing, including the polarimetric decomposition and target interpretation. With the rapid increase in PolSAR resolution, SAR images in complex natural and artificial scenes exhibit non-homogeneous characteristics, which creates an urgent demand for high-resolution PolSAR filters. To address these issues, a new adaptive PolSAR filter based on joint similarity measure criterion (JSMC) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a scale-adaptive filtering window is established in order to preserve the texture structure based on a multi-directional ratio edge detector. Secondly, the JSMC is proposed in order to accurately select homogeneous pixels; it describes pixel similarity based on both space distance and polarimetric distance. Thirdly, the homogeneous pixels are filtered based on statistical averaging. Finally, the airborne and spaceborne real data experiment results validate the effectiveness of our proposed method. Compared with other filters, the filter proposed in this paper provides a better outcome for PolSAR data in speckle suppression, edge texture, and the preservation of polarimetric properties. Contactless and non-destructive measuring tools can facilitate the moisture monitoring of bagged or bulk grain during transportation and storage. However, accurate target recognition and size prediction always impede the effectiveness of contactless monitoring in actual use. This paper developed a novel 3D reconstruction method upon multi-angle point clouds using a binocular depth camera and a proper Yolo-based neural model to resolve the problem. With this method, this paper developed an embedded and low-cost monitoring system for the in-warehouse grain bags, which predicted targets' 3D size and boosted contactless grain moisture measuring. Identifying and extracting the object of interest from the complex background was challenging in size prediction of the grain silo-bag on a conveyor. This study first evaluated a series of Yolo-based neural network models and explored the most appropriate neural network structure for accurately extracting the grain bag. In point-cloud processing, this study constructed a rotation matrix to fuse multi-angle point clouds to generate a complete one. This study deployed all the above methods on a Raspberry Pi-embedded board to perform the grain bag's 3D reconstruction and size prediction. For experimental validation, this study built the 3D reconstruction platform and tested grain bags' reconstruction performance. First, this study determined the appropriate positions (−60°, 0°, 60°) with the least positions and high reconstruction quality. Then, this study validated the efficacy of the embedded system by evaluating its speed and accuracy and comparing it to the original Torch model. Results demonstrated that the NCNN-accelerated model significantly enhanced the average processing speed, nearly 30 times faster than the Torch model. The proposed system predicted the objects' length, width, and height, achieving accuracies of 97.76%, 97.02%, and 96.81%, respectively. The maximum residual value was less than 9 mm. And all the root mean square errors were less than 7 mm. In the future, the system will mount three depth cameras for achieving real-time size prediction and introduce a contactless measuring tool to finalize grain moisture detection. Filtering from airborne LiDAR datasets in urban area is one important process during the building of digital and smart cities. However, the existing filters encounter poor filtering performance and heavy computational burden when processing large-scale and complicated urban environments. To tackle this issue, a self-adaptive filtering method based on object primitive global energy minimization is proposed in this paper. In this paper, mode points were first acquired for generating the mode graph. The mode points were the cluster centers of the LiDAR data obtained in a mean shift algorithm. The graph constructed with mode points was named "mode graph" in this paper. By defining the energy function based on the mode graph, the filtering process is transformed to iterative global energy minimization. In each iteration, the graph cuts technique was adopted to achieve global energy minimization. Meanwhile, the probability of each point belonging to the ground was updated, which would lead to a new refined ground surface using the points whose probabilities were greater than 0.5. This process was iterated until two successive fitted ground surfaces were determined to be close enough. Four urban samples with different urban environments were adopted for verifying the effectiveness of the filter developed in this paper. Experimental results indicate that the developed filter obtained the best filtering performance. With the number of new satellites increasing dramatically, comprehensive space surveillance is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, high-resolution inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of satellites can provide an in-situ assessment of the satellites. This paper demonstrates that pseudo-noise signals can also be used for satellite imaging, in addition to classical linear frequency-modulated chirp signals. Pseudo-noise transmission signals offer the advantage of very low cross-correlation values. This, for instance, enables the possibility of a system with multiple channels transmitting instantaneously. Furthermore, it can significantly reduce signal interference with other systems operating in the same frequency spectrum, which is of particular interest for high-bandwidth, high-power systems such as satellite imaging radars. A new routine has been introduced to generate a wideband pseudo-noise signal with a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) similar to that of a chirp signal. This is essential for applications where the transmit signal power budget is sharply limited by the high-power amplifier. The paper presents both theoretical descriptions and analysis of the generated pseudo-noise signal as well as the results of an imaging measurement of a real space target using the introduced pseudo-noise signals. In recent decades, climatic pressures have altered the forested landscape of Bavaria. Widespread loss of trees has unevenly impacted the entire state, of which 37% is covered by forests (5% more than the national average). In 2018 and 2019—due in large part to drought and subsequent insect infestations—more tree-covered areas were lost in Bavaria than in any other German state. Moreover, the annual crown condition survey of Bavaria has revealed a decreasing trend in tree vitality since 1998. We conducted a systematic literature review regarding the remote sensing of forests in Bavaria. In total, 146 scientific articles were published between 2008 and 2023. While 88 studies took place in the Bavarian Forest National Park, only five publications covered the whole of Bavaria. Outside of the national park, the remaining 2.5 million hectares of forest in Bavaria are understudied. The most commonly studied topics were related to bark beetle infestations (24 papers); however, few papers focused on the drivers of infestations. The majority of studies utilized airborne data, while publications utilizing spaceborne data focused on multispectral; other data types were under-utilized- particularly thermal, lidar, and hyperspectral. We recommend future studies to both spatially broaden investigations to the state or national scale and to increase temporal data acquisitions together with contemporaneous in situ data. Especially in understudied topics regarding forest response to climate, catastrophic disturbances, regrowth and species composition, phenological timing, and in the sector of forest management. The utilization of remote sensing data in the forestry sector and the uptake of scientific results among stakeholders remains a challenge compared to other heavily forested European countries. An integral part of the Bavarian economy and the tourism sector, forests are also vital for climate regulation via atmospheric carbon reduction and land surface cooling. This paper addresses the problem of weak maneuvering target detection in the space-based bistatic radar system through long-time coherent integration (LTCI). The space-based bistatic radar is vulnerable to the high-order range migration (RM) and Doppler frequency migration (DFM), since the target, the receiver and the transmitter all can play fast movement independently. To correct high- order RM and DFM, this usually involves joint high-dimensional parameter searching, incurring a large computational burden. In our previous work, a dual-scale (DS) decomposition of motion parameters was proposed, in which the optimal GRFT is conditionally decoupled into two cascade procedures called the modified generalized inverse Fourier transform (GIFT) and generalized Fourier transform (GFT), resulting in the DS-GRFT detector. However, even if the DS-GRFT detector preserves the superior performance and dramatically decreases the complexity, high-dimensional searching is still required. In this paper, by analyzing the structure of the DS-GRFT detector, we further designed a conditioned cubic phase function (CCPF) tailored to the range–slow-time signal after GIFT, breaking the joint high-dimensional searching into independent one-dimensional searching. Then, by connecting the proposed CCPF with the GIFT, we achieved a new LTCI detector called the DS-GIFT-CCPF detector, which obtained a significant computational cost reduction with acceptable performance loss, as demonstrated in numerical experiments. Accurate and comprehensive detection of pavement cracks is important for maintaining road quality and ensuring traffic safety. However, the complexity of road surfaces and the diversity of cracks make it difficult for existing methods to accomplish this challenging task. This paper proposes a novel network named the global graph multiscale network (GGMNet) for automated pixel-level detection of pavement cracks. The GGMNet network has several innovations compared with the mainstream road crack detection network: (1) a global contextual Res-block (GC-Resblock) is proposed to guide the network to emphasize the identities of cracks while suppressing background noises; (2) a graph pyramid pooling module (GPPM) is designed to aggregate the multi-scale features and capture the long-range dependencies of cracks; (3) a multi-scale features fusion module (MFF) is established to efficiently represent and deeply fuse multi-scale features. We carried out extensive experiments on three pavement crack datasets. These were DeepCrack dataset, with complex background noises; the CrackTree260 dataset, with various crack structures; and the Aerial Track Detection dataset, with a drone's perspective. The experimental results demonstrate that GGMNet has excellent performance, high accuracy, and strong robustness. In conclusion, this paper provides support for accurate and timely road maintenance and has important reference values and enlightening implications for further linear feature extraction research. This paper proposes a hyperspectral imaging simulation method based on a ray-tracing algorithm. The algorithm combines calculations based on solar and atmospheric visible light radiation as well as the spectral bidirectional reflection distribution function (BRDF) of the target surface material and can create its own scenarios for simulation calculations on demand. Considering the presence of multiple scattering between the target and background, using the ray-tracing algorithm enables the precise computation of results involving multiple scattering. To validate the accuracy of the algorithm, we compared the simulated results with the theoretical values of the visible light scattering intensity from a Lambertian sphere. The relative error obtained was 0.8%. Subsequently, a complex scene of engineering vehicles and grass was established. The results of different observation angles and different coating materials were calculated and analyzed. In summary, the algorithm presented in this paper has the following advantages. Firstly, it is applicable to geometric models composed of any triangular mesh elements and accurately computes the effects of multiple scattering. Secondly, the algorithm combines the spectral BRDF information of materials and improves the efficiency of multiple scattering calculations using nonuniform sampling. Most advances in the remote sensing of floating marine plastic litter have been made using passive remote-sensing techniques in the visible (VIS) to short-wave-infrared (SWIR) parts of the electromagnetic spectrum based on the spectral absorption features of plastic surfaces. In this paper, we present developments of new and emerging remote-sensing technologies of marine plastic litter such as passive techniques: fluid lensing, multi-angle polarimetry, and thermal infrared sensing (TIS); and active techniques: light detection and ranging (LiDAR), multispectral imaging detection and active reflectance (MiDAR), and radio detection and ranging (RADAR). Our review of the detection capabilities and limitations of the different sensing technologies shows that each has their own weaknesses and strengths, and that there is not one single sensing technique that applies to all kinds of marine litter under every different condition in the aquatic environment. Rather, we should focus on the synergy between different technologies to detect marine plastic litter and potentially the use of proxies to estimate its presence. Therefore, in addition to further developing remote-sensing techniques, more research is needed in the composition of marine litter and the relationships between marine plastic litter and their proxies. The retrieval of continuous snow water equivalent (SWE) directly from passive microwave observations is hampered by ambiguity, which can potentially be mitigated by incorporating knowledge on snow hydrological processes. In this paper, we present a data assimilation (DA)-based SWE retrieval framework coupling the QCA-Mie scattering (DMRT-QMS) model (a dense medium radiative transfer (RT) microwave scattering model) and a one-dimensional column-based multiple-layer snow hydrology model. The snow hydrology model provides realistic estimates of the snowpack physical parameters required to drive the DMRT-QMS model. This paper devises a strategy to specify those internal parameters in the snow hydrology and RT models that lack observational records. The modeled snow depth is updated by assimilating brightness temperatures (Tbs) from the X, Ku, and Ka bands using an ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF). The updated snow depth is then used to predict the SWE. The proposed framework was tested using the European Space Agency's Nordic Snow Radar Experiment (ESA NoSREx) dataset for a snow field experiment from 2009 to 2012 in Sodankylä, Finland. The achieved SWE retrieval root mean square error of 34.31 mm meets the requirements of NASA and ESA snow missions and is about 70% less than the open-loop SWE. In summary, this paper introduces a novel SWE retrieval framework that leverages the combined strengths of a snow hydrology model and a radiative transfer model. This approach ensures physically realistic retrievals of snow depth and SWE. We investigated the impact of various factors on the framework's performance, including observation time intervals and combinations of microwave observation channels. Our results demonstrate that a one-week observation interval achieves acceptable retrieval accuracy. This paper discusses thermal infrared (TIR) remote sensing technology applied to the delineation of geothermal resources, a significant renewable energy source. The technical characteristics and current status of TIR remote sensing is discussed and related to the integration of geological structure, geophysical data, and geochemical analyses. Also discussed are surface temperature inversion algorithms used to delineate anomalous ground-surface temperatures. Unlike traditional geophysical and geochemical exploration methods, remote sensing technology exhibits considerable advantages in terms of convenience and coverage extent. The aim of the paper is to identify an efficient method for transforming the point cloud into parametric objects in the fields of architecture, engineering and construction by four main steps: 3D survey of the structure under investigation, generation of a new point cloud based on feature extraction and identification of suitable threshold values, geometry reconstruction by semi-automatic process performed in Rhinoceros/Grasshopper and BIM implementation. The developed method made it possible to quickly obtain geometries that were very realistic to the original ones as shown in the case study described in the paper. In particular, the application of ShrinkWrap algorithm on the simplify point cloud allowed us to obtain a polygonal mesh model without errors such as holes, non-manifold surfaces, compenetrating surfaces, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Tectonic features on the Moon can reflect the state of stress during the formation of the structure, and sinuous rilles can provide further insight into the tectonic-thermal evolution of the Moon. Manual visual interpretation is the primary method for extracting these linear structures due to their complex morphology. However, extracting these features from the vast amount of lunar remote sensing data requires significant time and effort from researchers, especially for small-scale tectonic features, such as wrinkle ridges, lobate scarps, and high-relief ridges. In order to enhance the efficiency of linear structure detection, this paper conducts research on the automatic detection method of linear structures using sinuous rilles as an example case. In this paper, a multimodal semantic segmentation method, "Sinuous Rille Network (SR-Net)", for detecting sinuous rilles is proposed based on DeepLabv3+. This method combines advanced techniques such as ECA-ResNet and dynamic feature fusion. Compared to other networks, such as PSPNet, ResUNet, and DeepLabv3+, SR-Net demonstrates superior precision (95.20%) and recall (92.18%) on the multimodal sinuous rille test set. The trained SR-Net was applied in detecting lunar sinuous rilles within the range of 60°S to 60°N latitude. A new catalogue of sinuous rilles was generated based on the results of the detection process. The methodology proposed in this paper is not confined to the detection of sinuous rilles; with further improvements, it can be extended to the detection of other linear structures. Soil salinization has seriously affected agricultural production and ecological balance in the Yellow River Delta region. Rapid and accurate monitoring of soil salinity has become an urgent need. Traditional machine learning models tend to fall into local optimal values during the learning process, which reduces their accuracy. This paper introduces Circle map to enhance the crayfish optimization algorithm (COA), which is then integrated with the regularized extreme learning machine (RELM) model, aiming to improve the accuracy of soil salinity content (SSC) inversion in the Yellow River Delta region. We employed Landsat5 TM remote sensing images and measured salinity data to develop spectral indices, such as the band index, salinity index, vegetation index, and comprehensive index, selecting the optimal modeling variable group through Pearson correlation analysis and variable projection importance analysis. The back propagation neural network (BPNN), RELM, and improved crayfish optimization algorithm–regularized extreme learning machine (ICOA-RELM) models were constructed using measured data and selected variable groups for SSC inversion. The results indicate that the ICOA-RELM model enhances the R 2 value by an average of about 0.1 compared to other models, particularly those using groups of variables filtered by variable projection importance analysis as input variables, which showed the best inversion effect (test set R 2 value of 0.75, MAE of 0.198, RMSE of 0.249). The SSC inversion results indicate a higher salinization degree in the coastal regions of the Yellow River Delta and a lower degree in the inland areas, with moderate saline soil and severe saline soil comprising 48.69% of the total area. These results are consistent with the actual sampling results, which verify the practicability of the model. Underwater acoustic (UWA) channel prediction technology, as an important topic in UWA communication, has played an important role in UWA adaptive communication network and underwater target perception. Although many significant advancements have been achieved in underwater acoustic channel prediction over the years, a comprehensive summary and introduction is still lacking. As the first comprehensive overview of UWA channel prediction, this paper introduces past works and algorithm implementation methods of channel prediction from the perspective of linear, kernel-based, and deep learning approaches. Importantly, based on available at-sea experiment datasets, this paper compares the performance of current primary UWA channel prediction algorithms under a unified system framework, providing researchers with a comprehensive and objective understanding of UWA channel prediction. Finally, it discusses the directions and challenges for future research. The survey finds that linear prediction algorithms are the most widely applied, and deep learning, as the most advanced type of algorithm, has moved this field into a new stage. The experimental results show that the linear algorithms have the lowest computational complexity, and when the training samples are sufficient, deep learning algorithms have the best prediction performance. Faced with the problem of incompatibility between traditional information acquisition mode and spaceborne earth observation tasks, starting from the general mathematical model of compressed sensing, a theoretical model of block compressed sensing was established, and a full-process adaptive coding and decoding compressed sensing framework for remote sensing images was proposed, which includes five parts: mode selection, feature factor extraction, adaptive shape segmentation, adaptive sampling rate allocation and image reconstruction. Unlike previous semi-adaptive or local adaptive methods, the advantages of the adaptive encoding and decoding method proposed in this paper are mainly reflected in four aspects: (1) Ability to select encoding modes based on image content, and maximizing the use of the richness of the image to select appropriate sampling methods; (2) Capable of utilizing image texture details for adaptive segmentation, effectively separating complex and smooth regions; (3) Being able to detect the sparsity of encoding blocks and adaptively allocate sampling rates to fully explore the compressibility of images; (4) The reconstruction matrix can be adaptively selected based on the size of the encoding block to alleviate block artifacts caused by non-stationary characteristics of the image. Experimental results show that the method proposed in this article has good stability for remote sensing images with complex edge textures, with the peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity remaining above 35 dB and 0.8. Moreover, especially for ocean images with relatively simple image content, when the sampling rate is 0.26, the peak signal-to-noise ratio reaches 50.8 dB, and the structural similarity is 0.99. In addition, the recovered images have the smallest BRISQUE value, with better clarity and less distortion. In the subjective aspect, the reconstructed image has clear edge details and good reconstruction effect, while the block effect is effectively suppressed. The framework designed in this paper is superior to similar algorithms in both subjective visual and objective evaluation indexes, which is of great significance for alleviating the incompatibility between traditional information acquisition methods and satellite-borne earth observation missions. The increasing global warming trend has resulted in the mass loss of most glaciers. The Urumqi Vally, located in the dry and cold zone of China, and its widely dispersed glaciers are significant to the regional ecological environment, oasis economic development, and industrial and agricultural production. This is representative of glaciers in Middle Asia and represents one of the world's longest observed time series of glaciers, beginning in 1959. The Urumqi Headwater Glacier No. 1 (UHG-1) has a dominant presence in the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS). This paper supplies a comprehensive analysis of past studies and future modeling of glacier changes in the Urumqi Valley. It has received insufficient attention in the past, and the mass balance of UHG-1 was used to verify that the geodetic results and the OGGM model simulation results are convincing. The main conclusions are: The area of 48.68 ± 4.59 km2 delineated by 150 glaciers in 1958 decreased to 21.61 ± 0.27 km2 delineated by 108 glaciers in 2022, with a reduction of 0.47 ± 0.04 km2·a−1 (0.96% a−1 in 1958–2022). The glacier mass balance by geodesy is −0.69 ± 0.11 m w.e.a−1 in 2000–2022, which is just deviating from the measured result (−0.66 m w.e.a−1), but the geodetic result in this paper can be enough to reflect the glacier changes (−0.65 ± 0.11 m w.e.a−1) of the URB in 2000–2022. The future loss rate of area and volume will undergo a rapid and then decelerating process, with the fastest and slowest inflection points occurring around 2035 and 2070, respectively. High temperatures and large precipitation in summer accelerate glacier loss, and the corresponding lag period of glacier change to climate is about 2–3 years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the field of radar target detection, the conventional approach is to employ the range profile energy accumulation method for detecting extended targets. However, this method becomes ineffective when dealing with non-stationary and non-uniform radar clutter scenarios, as well as long-distance targets with weak radar cross sections (RCSs). In such cases, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the target echo is severely degraded, rendering the energy accumulation detection algorithm unreliable. To address this issue, this paper presents a new extended target detection method based on the maximum eigenvalue of the Hermitian matrix. This method utilizes a detection model that incorporates observed data and employs the likelihood ratio test (LRT) theory to derive the maximum eigenvalue detector at low SNR. Specifically, the detector constructs a matrix using a sliding window block with the available data and then computes the maximum eigenvalue of the covariance matrix. Subsequently, the maximum eigenvalue matrix is transformed into a one-dimensional eigenvalue image, enabling extended target detection through analogy with the energy accumulation detection method. Furthermore, this paper analyzes the proposed extended target detection method from both theoretical and experimental perspectives, validating it through field-measured data. The results obtained from the measured data demonstrate that the method effectively enhances the SNR in low SNR conditions, thereby improving target detection performance. Dedicated to synchronously acquiring large-area, high-precision, and multi-scale ocean wind and wave information, a novel concept of a spaceborne ocean microwave dual-function integrated sensor is proposed in this paper. It integrates the functions of a scatterometer and SAR by sharing a single phased-array antenna. An overview of the scientific requirements and motivations for the sensor are outlined firstly. In order to fulfill the observation requirements of both the functions, the constraints on the system parameters such as frequency, antenna size, and incidence angle are analyzed. Then, the selection principles of these parameters are discussed within the limitations of antenna area, bandwidth, available time, and cost. Additionally, the constraints on the time sequence of transmitting and receiving pulses are derived to ensure that there is no conflict when the two functions operate simultaneously. Subsequently, a method for jointly designing the pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of both the functions is introduced, along with zebra maps to verify its effectiveness. To ensure the long-term stable and uninterrupted service of satellite navigation systems, the robustness and reliability of time–frequency systems are crucial. Integrity monitoring is an effective method to enhance the robustness and reliability of time–frequency systems. Time–frequency signals are fundamental for integrity monitoring, with their time differences and frequency biases serving as essential indicators. These indicators are influenced by the inherent characteristics of the time–frequency signals, as well as the links and equipment they traverse. Meanwhile, existing research primarily focuses on only monitoring the integrity of the time–frequency signals' output by the atomic clock group, neglecting the integrity monitoring of the time–frequency signals generated and distributed by the time–frequency signal generation and distribution subsystem. This paper introduces a time–frequency signal integrity monitoring algorithm based on the temperature compensation frequency bias combination model. By analyzing the characteristics of time difference measurements, constructing the temperature compensation frequency bias combination model, and extracting and monitoring noise and frequency bias features from the time difference measurements, the algorithm achieves comprehensive time–frequency signal integrity monitoring. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm can effectively detect, identify, and alert users to time–frequency signal faults. Additionally, the model and the integrity monitoring parameters developed in this paper exhibit high adaptability, making them directly applicable to the integrity monitoring of time–frequency signals across various links. Pseudo-satellite technology has excellent compatibility with the BDS satellite navigation system in terms of signal systems. It can serve as a stable and reliable positioning signal source in signal-blocking environments. User terminals can achieve continuous high-precision positioning both indoors and outdoors without any modification to the navigation module. As a result, pseudo-satellite indoor positioning has gradually emerged as a research hotspot in the field. However, due to the complex and variable indoor radio propagation environment, signal propagation is interfered with by noise, multipath, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation, etc. The geometric relation-based localization algorithm cannot be applied in indoor non-line-of-sight environments. Therefore, this paper proposes a pseudo-satellite fingerprint localization method based on the discriminative deep belief networks (DDBNs). The method acquires the model parameters of pseudo-satellite multi-carrier noise density signal strength in non-line-of-sight indoor spaces through a greedy unsupervised learning method and gradient descent-supervised learning method. It establishes a mapping relationship between the implied features of the pseudo-satellite multi-carrier noise density signal strength and indoor location, enabling pseudo-satellite fingerprint matching localization in indoor non-line-of-sight environments. In this paper, the performance of the positioning algorithm is verified in dynamic and static scenarios through numerous experiments in a laboratory environment. Compared to the commonly used localization algorithms based on fingerprint library matching, the results demonstrate that, in indoor non-line-of-sight test conditions, the system's 2D static positioning has a maximum error of less than 0.24 m, an RMSE better than 0.12 m, and a 2σ (95.4%) positioning error better than 0.19 m. For 2D dynamic positioning, the maximum error is less than 0.36 m, the average error is 0.23 m, and the 2σ positioning error is better than 0.26 m. Spartina alterniflora (S. alterniflora) has grown rapidly in China since its introduction in 1979, showing the trend of alien species invasion, which has seriously affected the ecosystem balance of coastal wetlands. The temporal and spatial expansion law of S. alterniflora can be obtained through remote sensing monitoring, which can provide a reference and basis for S. alterniflora management. This paper presents a method for extracting and mapping S. alterniflora based on phenological characteristics. The coastal areas of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration are selected as the research area, and the Landsat time series data from 1990 to 2022 on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform are used to support the experiment in this paper. Firstly, the possible growing area of S. alterniflora was extracted using the normalized differential moisture index (NDMI), normalized differential vegetation index (NDVI), and normalized differential water index (NDWI); Then, the time series curve characterizing the phenological characteristics of vegetation was constructed using the vegetation index to determine the difference phase of phenological characteristics between S. alterniflora and other vegetation. Finally, a decision tree was constructed based on the phenological feature difference phase data to extract S. alterniflora, and it is applied to the analysis of temporal and spatial changes of S. alterniflora in the study area from 1990 to 2022. The results show that the area of S. alterniflora increased from ~1426 ha in 1990 to ~44,508 ha in 2022. However, the area of S. alterniflora began to show negative growth in 2015 due to the construction of nature reserves and ecological management. The results of correlation analysis showed that the growth of C. japonicum was significantly affected by temperature stress and weakly affected by precipitation. This study verified that Landsat time series images can effectively extract vegetation phenological information, which has strong feasibility for extraction and dynamic monitoring of S. alterniflora and provides technical support for the management and monitoring of invasive plants in coastal wetlands. Landsat 9 Operational Land Imager (L9-OLI) was launched on 27 September 2021, after completing a successful radiometric pre-launch calibration and characterization phase. The radiometric math model that governs the ground system—the data processing and analysis system (DPAS)—uses various calibration parameters that had been derived based on the pre-launch tests and analysis. During the on-orbit commissioning phase, the OLI system acquired specific sets of data collects, which enabled the revalidation of the pre-launch absolute calibration scale and other associated instrument performance characteristics. The analysis results shown in this paper focus on the activities and results related to the transfer-to-orbit analysis for the SI-traceable pre-launch radiometric scale. Key topics discussed in this paper include: radiance and reflectance calibration parameters for OLI; solar diffuser collects; stimulation-lamp collects; dark response; signal-to-noise ratios; and noise characteristics; radiometric response stability and the on-orbit update to the radiance to reflectance conversion factors. It will be shown that the OLI response during the early on-orbit operation matched pre-launch results and therefore this re-validates the absolute radiometric scaling at the predicted pre-launch level within the expected level of uncertainties. The launch did not cause any significant changes to the OLI system from the perspective of the absolute radiometric calibration performance. Once the transfer to orbit of the absolute calibration was confirmed, it created a solid basis for further on-orbit refinements of the radiance calibration parameters. Haiyang-2A (HY-2A) is the first marine dynamic environment satellite established by China, which has made significant contributions to the marine scientific research field. It carries the satellite-based GPS receiver named HY2, which was independently developed by China. It is an experimental satellite-borne GPS receiver for low earth orbit satellites, and during its operational period in orbit, the satellite-borne GPS data are not made accessible to the public. Therefore, this paper assesses the quality of HY-2A satellite-borne GPS data based on indicators such as satellite visibility, multipath effect, and ionospheric delay. The results indicate that the data acquired by the HY2 receiver are of high quality. The precise orbit determination (POD) uses the reduced-dynamic (RD) method. The adjustment effects of the pseudo-stochastic pulse time interval and a priori sigma on POD are analyzed, and the antenna phase center variation (PCV) is estimated using the direct method and residual method. Furthermore, this paper investigates the impact of PCV models with different resolutions (10° × 10° and 5° × 5°) on satellite orbit determination. To evaluate the orbit precision, three methods are used for validation, including carrier phase residual analysis, external precise science orbit (PSO) validation, and SLR three-dimensional (3D) validation, respectively. The results indicate that the highest orbit precision is achieved when the pseudo-stochastic pulse time interval is configured to 15 min, with the a priori sigma of 1 × 10−8 m/s2. The orbit carrier phase residuals reach the millimeter level. The 10° × 10°PCV model was estimated using the direct method and residual method, respectively; the root mean square of the external orbit validation for both methods show a millimeter-level improvement. The results obtained from the direct method and residual method are comparable. The resolution is increased from 10° to 5°, and the improvement in orbital precision is relatively small. The results obtained from the SLR 3D validation are consistent with those from the external PSO validation. The research in this paper is related to the accuracy of the tilt compensation function of the GNSS/IMU receivers, which were examined in an open sky environment. The purpose of the paper is to point out to geodesists the conditions and limitations of using GNSS/IMU technology in precise measurements to not jeopardize the coordinate's accuracy. The environment in which the measurement is made affects the quality of the GNSS signal and can limit the visibility of the satellite, leading to larger errors in the measurement. In this experiment, the current performance of the GNSS/IMU receivers was checked. Seven GNSS/IMU receivers were used for the realization of the experiment. For six receivers the compensation angle was α = 30°, while for one receiver, the compensation angle was α = 45°. The standard uncertainty of GNSS coordinates of the antenna phase center has values less than 9 mm. The standard uncertainty of the IMU component has values less than 31 mm. The measurement uncertainty of the position of the used GNSS receivers is in the range of 18.1 mm to 31.7 mm. The limit values for the differences along the coordinate axes x and y were determined, and their values are from 26 mm to 44 mm. In the conducted experiment, it was confirmed that three GNSS/IMU receivers have a "Satisfactory" result. The results show that GNSS/IMU measurements with a slope greater than 30° significantly affect the accuracy and reliability of GNSS/IMU technology. A slope greater than 45° has a deviation along the coordinate axes of 121.3 mm. The conducted research is particularly important for geodetic works that require high positioning performance. The testing method of the GNSS/IMU receiver presented in this paper can help its users to make correct conclusions regarding the coordinate accuracy of the measured point of interest. Some passive sensors can provide only relative angles of a signal source. To obtain the signal source location, multiple passive sensors can be constructed into a passive sensor network through communication links. This paper investigates the source localization problem with angle-only measurements in three-dimensional space. First, we present an intersection localization method, which estimates the target position by minimizing the sum of distances between lines formed by angle-only measurements. It has the same target position estimate as the widely used least-squares (LS) method, but with a lower computational cost. Furthermore, considering the differences in measurement accuracy of sensors, the weighted least-squares (WLS) algorithm can achieve better localization performance than the LS method. Unfortunately, since the coefficient matrix and the noise vector are correlated, the WLS method is biased. The bias-compensation WLS (BCWLS) method is also presented in this paper to reduce the bias by estimating the correlation between the coefficient matrix and the pseudolinear noise vector. To evaluate the performance of the presented algorithms, numerical simulations are conducted, indicating that the superiority of the intersection localization method in computational cost and the superiority of the BCWLS method in localization accuracy. The canopy height model (CHM) derived from LiDAR point cloud data is usually used to accurately identify the position and the canopy dimension of single tree. However, local invalid values (also called data pits) are often encountered during the generation of CHM, which results in low-quality CHM and failure in the detection of treetops. For this reason, this paper proposes an innovative method, called "pixels weighted differential gradient", to filter these data pits accurately and improve the quality of CHM. First, two characteristic parameters, gradient index (GI) and Z-score value (ZV) are extracted from the weighted differential gradient between the pit pixels and their eight neighbors, and then GIs and ZVs are commonly used as criterion for initial identification of data pits. Secondly, CHMs of different resolutions are merged, using the image processing algorithm developed in this paper to distinguish either canopy gaps or data pits. Finally, potential pits were filtered and filled with a reasonable value. The experimental validation and comparative analysis were carried out in a coniferous forest located in Triangle Lake, United States. The experimental results showed that our method could accurately identify potential data pits and retain the canopy structure information in CHM. The root-mean-squared error (RMSE) and mean bias error (MBE) from our method are reduced by between 73% and 26% and 76% and 28%, respectively, when compared with six other methods, including the mean filter, Gaussian filter, median filter, pit-free, spike-free and graph-based progressive morphological filtering (GPMF). Appropriate environmental sensing methods and visualization representations are crucial foundations for the in situ exploration of planets. In this paper, we developed specialized visualization methods to facilitate the rover's interaction and decision-making processes, as well as to address the path-planning and obstacle-avoidance requirements for lunar polar region exploration and Mars exploration. To achieve this goal, we utilize simulated lunar polar regions and Martian environments. Among them, the lunar rover operating in the permanently shadowed region (PSR) of the simulated crater primarily utilizes light detection and ranging (LiDAR) for environmental sensing; then, we reconstruct a mesh using the Poisson surface reconstruction method. After that, the lunar rover's traveling environment is represented as a red-green-blue (RGB) image, a slope coloration image, and a theoretical water content coloration image, based on different interaction needs and scientific objectives. For the rocky environment where the Mars rover is traveling, this paper enhances the display of the rocks on the Martian surface. It does so by utilizing depth information of the rock instances to highlight their significance for the rover's path-planning and obstacle-avoidance decisions. Such an environmental sensing and enhanced visualization approach facilitates rover path-planning and remote–interactive operations, thereby enabling further exploration activities in the lunar PSR and Mars, in addition to facilitating the study and communication of specific planetary science objectives, and the production and display of basemaps and thematic maps. Although there is extensive research demonstrating the significant loss and fragmentation of urban spaces caused by rapid urbanization, to date, no empirical research in Shanghai has investigated the spatiotemporal dynamics of urban open spaces using a comprehensive set of integrated geospatial techniques based on long-sequence time series. Based on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform and using the Random Forest (RF) classifier, multiple techniques, namely landscape metrics, trend analysis, open space ratio, transition matrix, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and fractal dimension analysis, were applied to analyze the Landsat satellite data. Next, Geographic Detector (GeoDetector) methods were used to investigate the driving forces of such spatial variations. The results showed that (1) the RF classification algorithm, supported by the GEE, can accurately and quickly obtain a research object dataset, and that calculating the optimal spatial grain size for open space pattern was 70 m; (2) open spaces exhibited declining and contracting trends; and open spaces in the city experienced a decline from 91.83% in 1980 to 69.63% in 2020. Meanwhile, the degree of open spaces in each district increased to different extents, whilst connectivity markedly decreased. Furthermore, the open space of city center districts showed the lowest rate of decrease, with open space patterns fragmenting due to encroaching urbanization; (3) the contribution of socioeconomic factors to the spatial–temporal changes in open space continually has increased over the past 40 years, and were also higher than natural geographic factors to some extent. Apart from offering policy insights guiding the future spatial planning and development of the city, this paper has contributions from both methodological and empirical perspectives. The census and management of hazard-bearing entities, along with the integrity of data quality, form crucial foundations for disaster risk assessment and zoning. By addressing the challenge of feature confusion, prevalent in single remotely sensed image recognition methods, this paper introduces a novel method, Spatially Constrained Deep Learning (SCDL), that combines deep learning with spatial constraint strategies for the extraction of disaster-bearing bodies, focusing on dams as a typical example. The methodology involves the creation of a dam dataset using a database of dams, followed by the training of YOLOv5, Varifocal Net, Faster R-CNN, and Cascade R-CNN models. These models are trained separately, and highly confidential dam location information is extracted through parameter thresholding. Furthermore, three spatial constraint strategies are employed to mitigate the impact of other factors, particularly confusing features, in the background region. To assess the method's applicability and efficiency, Qinghai Province serves as the experimental area, with dam images from the Google Earth Pro database used as validation samples. The experimental results demonstrate that the recognition accuracy of SCDL reaches 94.73%, effectively addressing interference from background factors. Notably, the proposed method identifies six dams not recorded in the GOODD database, while also detecting six dams in the database that were previously unrecorded. Additionally, four dams misdirected in the database are corrected, contributing to the enhancement and supplementation of the global dam geo-reference database and providing robust support for disaster risk assessment. In conclusion, leveraging open geographic data products, the comprehensive framework presented in this paper, encompassing deep learning target detection technology and spatial constraint strategies, enables more efficient and accurate intelligent retrieval of disaster-bearing bodies, specifically dams. In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become a popular and cost-effective technology in urban scenarios, encompassing applications such as material transportation, aerial photography, remote sensing, and disaster relief. However, the execution of prolonged tasks poses a heightened challenge owing to the constrained endurance of UAVs. This paper proposes a model to accurately represent urban scenarios and an unmanned system. Restricted zones, no-fly zones, and building obstructions to the detection range are introduced to make sure the model is realistic enough. We also introduced an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) into the model to solve the endurance of the UAVs in this long-time task scenario. The UGV and UAVs constituted a heterogeneous unmanned system to collaboratively solve the path-planning problem in the model. Building upon this model, this paper designs a Three-stage Alternating Optimization Algorithm (TAOA), involving two crucial steps of prediction and rolling optimization. A three-stage scheme is introduced to rolling optimization to effectively address the complex optimization process for the unmanned system. Finally, the TAOA was experimentally validated in both synthetic scenarios and scenarios modeled based on a real-world location to demonstrate their reliability. The experiments conducted in the synthetic scenarios aimed to assess the algorithm under hypothetical conditions, while the experiments in the scenarios based on real-world locations provided a practical evaluation of the proposed methods in more complex and authentic environments. The identification of wetland vegetation is essential for environmental protection and management as well as for monitoring wetlands' health and assessing ecosystem services. However, some limitations on vegetation classification may be related to remote sensing technology, confusion between plant species, and challenges related to inadequate data accuracy. In this paper, vegetation classification in the Yancheng Coastal Wetlands is studied and evaluated from Sentinel-2 images based on a random forest algorithm. Based on consistent time series from remote sensing observations, the characteristic patterns of the Yancheng Coastal Wetlands were better captured. Firstly, the spectral features, vegetation indices, and phenological characteristics were extracted from remote sensing images, and classification products were obtained by constructing a dense time series using a dataset based on Sentinel-2 images in Google Earth Engine (GEE). Then, remote sensing classification products based on the random forest machine learning algorithm were obtained, with an overall accuracy of 95.64% and kappa coefficient of 0.94. Four indicators (POP, SOS, NDVIre, and B12) were the main contributors to the importance of the weight analysis for all features. We try to assess the validity of assumptions taken when deriving drift velocity. We give simple formulas for characteristics of the spatiotemporal correlation function of the observed diffraction pattern for the frozen flow and the more general Briggs model. Using Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) Cassiopeia intensity observation, we compare the experimental velocity scaling factor with a theoretical one to show that both models do not follow observations. We also give a qualitative comparison of our drift velocity estimates with SuperDARN convection maps. As artificial intelligence technology advances, the application of object detection technology in the field of SAR (synthetic aperture radar) imagery is becoming increasingly widespread. However, it also faces challenges such as resource limitations in spaceborne environments and significant uncertainty in the intensity of interference in application scenarios. These factors make the performance evaluation of object detection key to ensuring the smooth execution of tasks. In the face of such complex and harsh application scenarios, methods that rely on single-dimensional evaluation to assess models have had their limitations highlighted. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-dimensional evaluation method for deep learning models used in SAR image object detection. This method evaluates models in a multi-dimensional manner, covering the training, testing, and application stages of the model, and constructs a multi-dimensional evaluation index system. The training stage includes assessing training efficiency and the impact of training samples; the testing stage includes model performance evaluation, application-based evaluation, and task-based evaluation; and the application stage includes model operation evaluation and model deployment evaluation. The evaluations of these three stages constitute the key links in the performance evaluation of deep learning models. Furthermore, this paper proposes a multi-indicator comprehensive evaluation method based on entropy weight correlation scaling, which calculates the weights of each evaluation indicator through test data, thereby providing a balanced and comprehensive evaluation mechanism for model performance. In the experiments, we designed specific interferences for SAR images in the testing stage and tested three models from the YOLO series. Finally, we constructed a multi-dimensional performance profile diagram for deep learning object detection models, providing a new visualization method to comprehensively characterize model performance in complex application scenarios. This can provide more accurate and comprehensive model performance evaluation for remote sensing data processing, thereby guiding model selection and optimization. Utilizing multi-modal data, as opposed to only hyperspectral image (HSI), enhances target identification accuracy in remote sensing. Transformers are applied to multi-modal data classification for their long-range dependency but often overlook intrinsic image structure by directly flattening image blocks into vectors. Moreover, as the encoder deepens, unprofitable information negatively impacts classification performance. Therefore, this paper proposes a learnable transformer with an adaptive gating mechanism (AGMLT). Firstly, a spectral–spatial adaptive gating mechanism (SSAGM) is designed to comprehensively extract the local information from images. It mainly contains point depthwise attention (PDWA) and asymmetric depthwise attention (ADWA). The former is for extracting spectral information of HSI, and the latter is for extracting spatial information of HSI and elevation information of LiDAR-derived rasterized digital surface models (LiDAR-DSM). By omitting linear layers, local continuity is maintained. Then, the layer Scale and learnable transition matrix are introduced to the original transformer encoder and self-attention to form the learnable transformer (L-Former). It improves data dynamics and prevents performance degradation as the encoder deepens. Subsequently, learnable cross-attention (LC-Attention) with the learnable transfer matrix is designed to augment the fusion of multi-modal data by enriching feature information. Finally, poly loss, known for its adaptability with multi-modal data, is employed in training the model. With the continuous emergence and development of 3D sensors in recent years, it has become increasingly convenient to collect point cloud data for 3D object detection tasks, such as the field of autonomous driving. But when using these existing methods, there are two problems that cannot be ignored: (1) The bird's eye view (BEV) is a widely used method in 3D objective detection; however, the BEV usually compresses dimensions by combined height, dimension, and channels, which makes the process of feature extraction in feature fusion more difficult. (2) Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) has a much larger effective scanning depth, which causes the sector to become sparse in deep space and the uneven distribution of point cloud data. This results in few features in the distribution of neighboring points around the key points of interest. The following is the solution proposed in this paper: (1) This paper proposes multi-scale feature fusion composed of feature maps at different levels made of Deep Layer Aggregation (DLA) and a feature fusion module for the BEV. (2) A point completion network is used to improve the prediction results by completing the feature points inside the candidate boxes in the second stage, thereby strengthening their position features. Supervised contrastive learning is applied to enhance the segmentation results, improving the discrimination capability between the foreground and background. Experiments show these new additions can achieve improvements of 2.7%, 2.4%, and 2.5%, respectively, on KITTI easy, moderate, and hard tasks. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a widely used technology for pipeline detection due to its fast detection speed and high resolution. However, the presence of complex underground media often results in strong ground clutter interference in the collected B-scan echoes, significantly impacting detection performance. To address this issue, this paper proposes an improved clutter suppression network based on a cycle-consistency generative adversarial network (CycleGAN). By employing the concept of style transfer, the network aims to convert clutter images into clutter-free images. This paper introduces multiple residual blocks into the generator and discriminator, respectively, to improve the feature expression ability of the deep learning model. Additionally, the discriminator incorporates the squeeze and excitation (SE) module, a channel attention mechanism, to further enhance the model's ability to extract features from clutter-free images. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed network in clutter suppression, both simulation and measurement data are utilized to compare and analyze its performance against traditional clutter suppression methods and deep learning-based methods, respectively. From the result of the measured data, it can be found that the improvement factor ( I m ) of the proposed method has reached 40.68 dB, which is a significant improvement compared to the previous network. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are increasing in popularity in various sectors, simultaneously rasing the challenge of detecting those with low radar cross sections (RCS). This review paper aims to assess the current state-of-the-art in radar technology, focusing on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and beamforming techniques, to address this growing concern. It explores the challenges associated with detecting UAVs in urban settings and adverse weather conditions, where traditional radar systems often do not succeed. This paper examines the existing literature and technological advancements to understand how these methodologies can significantly boost detection capabilities under the constraints of low RCS. In particular, MIMO technology, renowned for its spatial multiplexing, and beamforming, with its directional signal enhancement, are evaluated for their efficacy in the context of UAV surveillance and defense strategies. Ultimately, a comprehensive comparison is presented, drawing on a variety of studies to illustrate the combined potential of integrating these technologies, providing the way for future developments in radar system design and UAV detection. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a high-resolution imaging sensor commonly mounted on platforms such as airplanes and satellites for widespread use. In complex electromagnetic environments, radio frequency interference (RFI) severely degrades the quality of SAR images due to its widely varying bandwidth and numerous unknown emission sources. Although traditional deep learning-based methods have achieved remarkable results by directly processing SAR images as visual ones, there is still considerable room for improvement in their performance due to the wide coverage and high intensity of RFI. To address these issues, this paper proposes the fusion of segmentation and inpainting networks (FuSINet) to suppress SAR RFI in the time-frequency domain. Firstly, to weaken the dominance of RFI in SAR images caused by high-intensity interference, a simple CCN-based network is employed to learn and segment the RFI. This results in the removal of most of the original interference, leaving blanks that allow the targets to regain dominance in the overall image. Secondly, considering the wide coverage characteristic of RFI, a U-former network with global information capture capabilities is utilized to learn the content covered by the interference and fill in the blanks created by the segmentation network. Compared to the traditional Transformer, this paper enhances its global information capture capabilities through shift-windows and down-sampling layers. Finally, the segmentation and inpainting networks are fused together through a weighted parameter for joint training. This not only accelerates the learning speed but also enables better coordination between the two networks, leading to improved RFI suppression performance. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the substantial performance enhancement of the proposed FuSINet. Compared to the PISNet+, the proposed attention mechanism achieves a 2.49 dB improvement in peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is widely used for its high accuracy, wide coverage, and strong real-time performance. However, limited by the navigation signal mechanism, satellite signals in urban canyons, bridges, tunnels, and other environments are seriously affected by non-line-of-sight and multipath effects, which greatly reduce positioning accuracy and positioning continuity. In order to meet the positioning requirements of human and vehicle navigation in complex environments, it was necessary to carry out this research on the integration of multiple signal sources. The Fifth Generation (5G) signal possesses key attributes, such as low latency, high bandwidth, and substantial capacity. Simultaneously, 5G Base Stations (BSs), serving as a fundamental mobile communication infrastructure, extend their coverage into areas traditionally challenging for GNSS technology, including indoor environments, tunnels, and urban canyons. Based on the actual needs, this paper proposes a system algorithm based on 5G and GNSS joint positioning, aiming at the situation that the User Equipment (UE) only establishes the connection with the 5G base station with the strongest signal. Considering the inherent nonlinear problem of user position and angle measurements in 5G observation, an angle cosine solution is proposed. Furthermore, enhancements to the Sage–Husa Adaptive Kalman Filter (SHAKF) algorithm are introduced to tackle issues related to observation weight distribution and adaptive updates of observation noise in multi-system joint positioning, particularly when there is a lack of prior information. This paper also introduces dual gross error detection adaptive correction of the forgetting factor based on innovation in the iterative Kalman filter to enhance accuracy and robustness. Finally, a series of simulation experiments and semi-physical experiments were conducted. The numerical results show that compared with the traditional method, the angle cosine method reduces the average number of iterations from 9.17 to 3 with higher accuracy, which greatly improves the efficiency of the algorithm. The precision of agro-technical operations is one of the main hallmarks of a modern approach to agriculture. However, ensuring the precise application of plant protection products or the performance of mechanical field operations entails significant costs for sophisticated positioning systems. This paper explores the integration of precision positioning based on the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) in agriculture, particularly in fieldwork operations, seeking solutions of moderate cost with sufficient precision. This study examines the impact of GNSSs on automation and robotisation in agriculture, with a focus on intelligent agricultural guidance. It also discusses commercial devices that enable the automatic guidance of self-propelled machinery and the benefits that they provide. This paper investigates GNSS-based precision localisation devices under real field conditions. A comparison of commercial and low-cost GNSS solutions, along with the integration of satellite navigation with advanced visual odometry for improved positioning accuracy, is presented. The research demonstrates that affordable solutions based on the common differential GNSS infrastructure can be applied for accurate localisation under real field conditions. This paper presents a method for extracting the digital elevation model (DEM) of forested areas from polarimetric interferometric synthetic aperture radar (PolInSAR) data. The method models the ground phase as a Von Mises distribution, with a mean of the topographic phase computed from an external DEM. By combining the prior distribution of the ground phase with the complex Wishart distribution of the observation covariance matrix, we derive the maximum a posterior (MAP) inversion method based on the RVoG model and analyze its Cramer–Rao Lower Bound (CRLB). Furthermore, considering the characteristics of the objective function, this paper introduces a Four-Step Optimization (FSO) method based on gradient optimization, which solves the inefficiency problem caused by exhaustive search in solving ground phase using the MAP method. The method is validated using spaceborne L-band repeat-pass SAOCOM data from a test forest area. The test results for FSO indicate that it is approximately 5.6 times faster than traditional methods without compromising accuracy. Simultaneously, the experimental results demonstrate that the method effectively solves the problem of elevation jumps in DEM inversion when modeling the ground phase with the Gaussian distribution. ICESAT-2 data are used to evaluate the accuracy of the inverted DEM, revealing that our method improves the root mean square error (RMSE) by about 23.6% compared to the traditional methods. Satellite-Drone Image Cross-View Geolocalization has wide applications. Due to the pronounced variations in the visual features of 3D objects under different angles, Satellite-Drone cross-view image geolocalization remains an unresolved challenge. The key to successful cross-view geolocalization lies in extracting crucial spatial structure information across different scales in the image. Recent studies improve image matching accuracy by introducing an attention mechanism to establish global associations among local features. However, existing methods primarily focus on using single-scale features and employ a single-channel attention mechanism to correlate local convolutional features from different locations. This approach inadequately explores and utilizes multi-scale spatial structure information within the image, particularly lacking in the extraction and utilization of locally valuable information. In this paper, we propose a cross-view image geolocalization method based on multi-scale information and a dual-channel attention mechanism. The multi-scale information includes features extracted from different scales using various convolutional slices, and it extensively utilizes shallow network features. The dual-channel attention mechanism, through successive local and global feature associations, effectively learns depth discriminative features across different scales. Experimental results were conducted using existing satellite and drone image datasets, with additional validation performed on an independent self-made dataset. The findings indicate that our approach exhibits superior performance compared to existing methods. Water leakages can affect the safety and durability of shield tunnels, so rapid and accurate identification and diagnosis are urgently needed. However, current leakage detection methods are mostly based on mobile LiDAR data, making it challenging to detect leakage damage in both mobile and terrestrial LiDAR data simultaneously, and the detection results are not intuitive. Therefore, an integrated cylindrical voxel and Mask R-CNN method for water leakage inspection is presented in this paper. This method includes the following three steps: (1) a 3D cylindrical-voxel data organization structure is constructed to transform the tunnel point cloud from disordered to ordered and achieve the projection of a 3D point cloud to a 2D image; (2) automated leakage segmentation and localization is carried out via Mask R-CNN; (3) the segmentation results of water leakage are mapped back to the 3D point cloud based on a cylindrical-voxel structure of shield tunnel point cloud, achieving the expression of water leakage disease in 3D space. The proposed approach can efficiently detect water leakage and leakage not only in mobile laser point cloud data but also in ground laser point cloud data, especially in processing its curved parts. Additionally, it achieves the visualization of water leakage in shield tunnels in 3D space, making the water leakage results more intuitive. Experimental validation is conducted based on the MLS and TLS point cloud data collected in Nanjing and Suzhou, respectively. Compared with the current commonly used detection method, which combines cylindrical projection and Mask R-CNN, the proposed method can achieve water leakage detection and 3D visualization in different tunnel scenarios, and the accuracy of water leakage detection of the method in this paper has improved by nearly 10%. In view of the ecological threat posed by cyanobacteria blooms in Taihu Lake (China), this paper presents a study on the area of cyanobacteria extent based on MODIS data using the quantum particle swarm optimization–random forest (QPSO-RF) machine learning algorithm. This paper selects multiple remote sensing input indices that can represent the characteristics of the primary underlying type in Taihu Lake. The proposed method performs best, with an F1 score of 0.91–0.98. Based on this method, the spatio-temporal variation of cyanobacteria blooms in the Taihu Lake complex was analyzed. During 2010–2022, the average area of cyanobacteria blooms in Taihu Lake increased slightly. Severe-scale cyanobacteria blooms occurred in 2015–2019. Cyanobacteria blooms were normally concentrated from May to November. However, the most prolonged extended duration occurred in 2017, lasting for eight months. Spatially, cyanobacteria blooms were mainly identified in the northwestern part of Taihu Lake, with an average occurrence frequency of about 10.0%. The cyanobacteria blooms often began to grow in the northwestern part of the lake and then spread to the Center of the Lake, and also dissipated earliest in the northwestern part of the lake.
