Requirements figure prominently in information system development. Both development phase of the system and phase of its verification depends on how qualitative requirements are. That is why it"s required to describe requirements as accurately and correctly as it possible. One of the properties that define quality of requirements collecting is completeness. The paper shows that if one obtains sources and symptoms of the requirements incompleteness (completeness absence), classifies, generalizes and clarifies them then one can check requirements for these symptoms while collecting requirements or after that. This will sufficiently decrease the incompleteness of the requirements and thus improve their quality. The paper contains some symptoms of incompleteness have already been revealed and explains the reason of their appearance. These symptoms have been revealed by analyzing the documentation of some important industrial projects.

This paper analyzed two libraries for implementation of automata in dynamic languages. The comparison has been made based on modifying the functionality of the Restful-authentication plugin for Ruby on Rails framework. These libraries allow transferring a graphical model into a source code. Moreover library developed by the authors of the paper provide a method for creation of state groups which reduces the number of transitions required to implement the automaton in the code. Also this library preserved the hierarchy of the parent automata after inheritance. Using developed library it is possible to perform a reverse engineering and restore the original graphical model from the source code.

DPMine generic purpose workflow language is rooted in DPMine/P scientific workflow language and a set of plug-ins for ProM which originally were developed for convenient piping of different plug-ins within ProM framework. DPMine/C is a new version of DPMine workflow language and a C++ library. The main language concept was complemented by comprehensive analysis of DPMine/C model execution semantics. This paper also discusses approaches to the block types extension concept relying on development of new block type classes and customization of the model storage subsystem. Finally, we show an approach for implementation of a GUI frontend.

This paper overviews an approach to keyword-driven testing based on test cases created in Message Sequence Charts format. Main features and advantages of this idea are discussed. Last two chapters provide brief overview of current implementation of testing automation framework based on the presented approach.

Today many problems that are dedicated to a particular problem domain can be solved using DSL. Thus to use DSL it must be created or it can be selected from existing ones. Creating a completely new DSL in most cases requires high financial and time costs. Selecting an appropriate existing DSL is an intensive task because such actions like walking through every DSL and deciding if current DSL can handle the problem are done manually. This problem appears because there are no DSL repository and no tools for matching suitable DSL with specific task. This paper observes an approach for implementing an automated detection of requirements for DSL (ontology-based structure) and automated DSL matching for specific task.

In the research and development of distributed computer systems and related technologies it is appropriate to use research models of such systems based on the virtual infrastructure. These models can simulate a large number of different configurations of distributed systems. The paper presents an approach to automate the creation of virtual models for one of the classes of distributed systems used for scientific computing. Also there considers the existing ways to automate some maintaining processes and provides practical results obtained by the author in the development and testing of prototype software tools to create virtual models.

This paper describes our approach to document search based on the ontological resources and graph models. The approach is applicable in local networks and local computers. It can be useful for ontology engineering specialists or search specialists.

This paper describes an automatic QA organization experience in the industrial project of DB migration from MS SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 11gR2. The resulting DB of the project is supposed to contain the same data and to have a functional correspondence with the initial one. The initial DB is quite huge: 6 terabytes of data and 2500 KSLOC of stored procedures. The documentation for the initial base is incomplete and outdated and doesn’t correspond with the database in question. Functional specifications for stored procedures are missing, as well as tests. This article contains the description of the main problems solved during the project, solutions and an estimation of their applicability based on implementation experience.

The paper considers issues of formal methods in the tasks of knowledge representation including optimization of formal grammars by means of functional programming languages. One of the possible applications of the formal notation given is illustrated by the task of parallel natural texts analysis and comparison.

In this paper we describe our experience in creating a tool capable to provide traceability of the requirements between different versions of the LSB and POSIX standards. We propose an approach for merging requirement markup without exact matching of the documents by means of arithmetic hashing and context similarity analysis.

In this paper a declarative language for SAX handler definition is proposed. This language allows to describe complex XML parsing algorithms in a simple manner. An algorithm is introduced for automatic transformation of such handler descriptions into finite state machines, and then into source code. This approach reduces the complexity of SAX handler development by eliminating the greater part of errorprone manual work.

This paper presents an integrated approach to verification and testing automation of UML projects. It consists of automatic model creation from UML specifications in the formal language of basic protocols, model’s verification by the means of VRS technology and automatic tests generation in TTCN language using TAT. The actuality of this task arises from necessity of software functionality’s correctness checking, including verification and testing, but there is lack of industrial technologies which allow integrating these two activities. Results of the developed approach piloting are also described.

This paper considers the method of the header files automated analysis. The method is intended for the LSB standardization process support. The suggested approach is based on the usage of the cpp preprocessor and gcc compiler high-level representation, their extensions and additional analyzers. The basic work stages of tool implementing the suggested method are introduced. Also tool application for the Qt library header files analysis is considered.

This paper describes a new algorithm for finding software clones. It is conceptually independent of the source language of the analyzed programs, working at the level of abstract syntax trees. The algorithm considers that two sequences of statements form a clone if one of them can be obtained from the other by replacing some subtrees. To our knowledge this notion was not previously employed in the literature. It allows to take into account all information on the syntactic structure of a program. We have implemented this algorithm in the tool Clone Digger. It currently supports the Python and Java languages. Clone Digger is free and provided under the GPL license.

In the paper the problem of extension of the standard information taken from signatures of program interfaces, for a possibility of automatic generation of the tests calling chains of such interfaces with correct parameters and in a correct environment is considered. This problem is actual at testing systems with greater number of interfaces (more than 1000) in conditions of the limited resources on creation of tests. For the description of the extended data the so-called specialized types specifying semantics of types of objects, returned values and parameters are entered. With their help it is possible to add the initial description of signatures of interfaces for effective generation of tests. Various kinds and properties of specialized types are considered. The aspects accelerating input of necessary additional data for groups of interfaces are discussed, too. The example of realization of storage of the extended information on interfaces in a database of Linux Standard Base standard is shown.

This paper describes the declarative approach to implementation of automata objects in imperative object-oriented programming language with static type checking. The main advantage of proposed approach is the ability to use nesting and inheritance of macro-states.

This paper presents a novel approach of tracking requirements history based on the usage of so-called specification database. The approach was applied to the Linux Standard Base specification. Both necessary database schema elements and required modifications of tools dealing with the database are concerned.

Switch-case statements (or switches) provide a natural way to express multiway branching control flow semantics. They are common in many applications including compilers, parsers, text processing programs, virtual machines. Various optimizations for switches has been studied for many years. This paper presents the description of switch lowering refactoring recently made for the LLVM Compiler System [1].
