A bibliometric analysis of the studies included in the research was conducted on August 10, 2023. The "Web of Science Core Collection" was searched by entering the keyword "Curriculum Alignment." One hundred-five studies were included in the evaluation. VOSviewer package program was used for bibliometric analysis of article data. According to the general data of bibliometric analysis, 105 studies were published in 42 different sources, and the average number of citations per document was 11.21. When the distribution of articles according to publication years is examined, most articles were published in 2021. It was understood that there were more publications on Curriculum Alignment in the journals Chemical Education and Assessment in Education: Principles, Policy & Practice. It has been determined that studies on curriculum alignment are concentrated in the United States; The United States was followed by Australia, England, South Africa, Canada, and the People's Republic of China, respectively. It has been determined that topics such as learning outcomes, curriculum mapping, problem-based learning, analytical competencies, in-service teachers, enacted curriculum, curriculum change, collaboration, and assessment design are current issues discussed together with curriculum alignment. A limited number of studies have been conducted on Curriculum Alignment in Turkey. It may be recommended to conduct new studies on the subject. [For the full proceedings, see ED652261.]

6. Medicine and Military in Traditional China: Space, Boundary, and Cognate Vocabulary

- Abstract
There is a long-standing interrelationship between the military and medical spheres in society. Military actions rely on medical services to tend to casualties, and medical advances often come from the pressure of military campaigns that generate large numbers of patients. That interrelationship is a linear one of simple paired interaction. However, there is a deeper and more subtle relationship that influences military and medical theory. Both disciplines are schools of applied philosophy; real world result is required for the philosophical principles and theoretical approaches to be validated and maintained. Ornate intellectual edifice, which cannot produce a quantifiable result, is unacceptable in both these disciplines. As such there is a cognate type of intellectual discourse that involves observation, supposition, abstraction to principle, manipulation of principle, application, and evaluation of result. This process differs from abstract philosophy wherein the application, efficacy and assessment are often couched in qualitative and unclear parameters, which belie an accurate summation of result. This paper seeks to explore the relationship of the military and medical traditions of China, through a structured comparison of the intellectual framework of these two systems of applied philosophy. By exploring the medical and military conceptualizations of space and boundary, and the cognate vocabulary used in these two traditions, a better understanding of the deep structure of the core rubrics within the systems can be derived. Further, through comparative evaluation of source texts I will examine the parallelisms and dissonances of the views of space, boundary, power, and strategy. - Abstract
Future time perspective is now increasingly catching attention in educational psychology field. There is evidence that students' future time perspective negatively affected students' academic procrastination. Although the relationship between future time perspective and academic procrastination is stable. There are research gaps to be filled. On the one hand, most attention was paid to older students such as undergraduates rather than primary students. On the other hand, we still know little about the mechanism of their relationship. This study aimed to explore the mediating role of students' positive emotion between their future time perspective and academic procrastination. A total of 185 (92are boys and 93 are girls) primary students completed measures self-report in the study. Correlational results showed that future time perspective positively correlated positive emotion, negatively associated with academic procrastination, and positive emotion negatively linked to academic procrastination. Bootstrapped mediation results showed positive emotion partially mediated the relationship between future time perspective and academic procrastination. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed. [For the full proceedings, see ED631133.]

- Abstract
Mathematics learning plays a significant role for high school students. Although gender differences in mathematics learning have been well documented, gender differences in mathematics learning self-assessment have not been adequately studied. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether gender differences existed in the mathematics learning self-assessment process. In this study, nine Chinese high school students answered interview questions about self-assessment (Step 1: determine/set self-assessment criteria; Step 2: seek external and internal feedback; Step 3: reflect the learning process and product with the support of feedback) in mathematics learning. The findings revealed that all high school students self-assessed their mathematics learning. Gender differences varied across the self-assessment steps. In Step 1 and Step 2, it did not show significant gender differences. However, in Step 3, gender differences were significant. This study can help educators and researchers better understand the variability and complexity of self-assessment in mathematics learning. [For the full proceedings, see ED631133.]

9. Dispelling the Myth of Elitism and Establishing the Evidence of Inclusion: A Case of CLIL in Online English Education amid COVID-19 Pandemic
- Author

Hu, Hengzhi
- Abstract
Educational elitism is an issue to be tackled, the necessity of which has already been widely established but reinforced amid COVID-19 pandemic given that learning has been greatly disrupted; elitism in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a matter of debate, the settling of which still awaits more empirical studies in different educational contexts. Conducted in a particular Chinese higher education provider, this mixed-methods study examined the effects of CLIL in an online English teaching programme and indicated that when teaching practices were appropriately designed and enacted in response to learners' differing needs, students of different academic capabilities could make remarkable achievement in both language learning and content learning. This makes a contribution, though small, toward dispelling the myth of elitism in CLIL and establishes some evidence on the promotion of inclusive education in the time of COVID-19 crisis. However, a critical view should be held to elitism in either online education or CLIL with a much wider research agenda in various educational contexts to be explored. - Abstract
The learning of Indonesian for foreign speakers (bahasa Indonesia untuk penutur asing/BIPA) develops very fast. One of them is the People's Republic of China (PRC). In line with this, the government of PRC shows a serious intention to learn Indonesian language by sending their students to learn the Indonesian language in Indonesia through BIPA program. The success of BIPA learning depends on the learners' first language and teaching materials used. Therefore, in-depth studies on the linguistic characteristics of the BIPA learners are necessary to be conducted to acquire suitable teaching materials following the learners' needs. This research was conducted on eight students of BIPA for academic purposes program from China. This research was conducted by applying a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings on the linguistic characteristics of the BIPA students from China show three aspects. First, from the aspect of phonology, Chinese students do not really master the consonant sound pronunciation of Indonesian language, which is apparent from the inability and consistent mispronunciation in pronouncing certain sounds. Second, from the aspect of morphology, the students can construct words with some affixes that form the active form, but can't construct word using affixes that form the passive form. Third, the students have been able to construct a simple and complex sentence with two clauses, yet, they face difficulties in changing an active sentence to passive and vice versa. The three findings were then used to map the BIPA teaching materials, which later will be used for Chinese students in the future. [For the full proceedings, see ED626375.]
