In MAS, agent interaction protocol has become the basis of coordination, cooperation and communication among agents. Since the semantics of agent interaction protocol in UML or AUML faces ambiguous and inconsistent problems, the paper presents an Extended Colored Petri Net(ECPN) as agent protocol modeling mechanism. By means of ECPN techniques presented in the paper, we can model agent interaction mechanism, validate the model's properties, and implement feasible transition to executable processes. Some of software development processes are so comprehensive that can be used in different projects and various domains. Tailoring and customizing these processes is necessary for using them in a project. That is, we should do some changes in the process and adapt it based on the project properties and developing organization capabilities. This paper deals with process customization based on the project properties. It intends to investigate what properties of a project should be considered during customization of its development process, and how we can optimize the process according to the project properties. In this paper, we first categorize several properties of software projects. Next, we discuss the effects of each property on the configuration of development process and present some guidelines for process customization. An algorithm for the calculation of the sequential parameters in the aircraft electrical system is designed in this paper. The original calculation model of the sequential component calculation is given as a complex formula which is inconvenient for the general digital programmable computation. The geometrical algorithm is presented in this paper in which the voltage vectors rotate and project to the coordinate axis to simplify the calculation. The projections on x and y coordinates may add up in algebra way, and only one projection is left on each axis. Then synthesize the two components to obtain the required sequential voltage vector. This algorithm may be used in the program design by ordinary programming languages in the fault diagnostics and protection to the electrical system. In this paper a numerical algorithm is described for solving the boundary value problem associated with axisymmetric, inviscid, incompressible, rotational (and irrotational) flow in order to obtain duct wall shapes from prescribed wall velocity distributions. The velocity distribution is defined to be cubic in arclength s, with constant downstream and upstream values. The partial differential equation derived is given in terms of the stream function Ψ(x,y) and the function ø(x,y) as independent variables where for irrotational flow ø(x,y) can be recognized as the velocity potential function, for rotational flow ø(x,y) ceases being the velocity potential function but does remain orthogonal to the stream lines, the dependent variable is the radius y, of the duct. A numerical method based on finite differences on a uniform rectangular mesh is employed. The technique described is capable of tackling the so-called inverse problem where the velocity wall distributions are prescribed from which the duct geometry is calculated, as well as the direct problem where the radius distribution of the suction and pressure surfaces respectively are prescribed from which the velocity distribution is calculated. The two different cases as outlined in this paper are in fact boundary value problems with Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions respectively. Even though both approaches are discussed, only numerical results for the case of the Neumann boundary condition is given. A near perfect matching in a graph G is a matching covering all but one vertex in G. If any n independent edges in G are contained in a near perfect matching where n≤(¦V (G)¦-2)/2, then G is said to be defect n-extendable. In this paper, we give out the extendability of the graph by deleting an edge from a defect n-extendable bipartite graph and also show that all the bounds given in the paper are sharp. According to the limitation of Principal Components Analysis in dealing with the nonlinear data, connecting with the Linear Programming Techniques for Multidimensional Analysis of Preference, this paper presents the Kernel Principal Components Analysis-Linear Programming Techniques for Multidimensional Analysis of Preference evaluation model. Kernel function maps linear inseparable input data into a high dimensional linear separable feature space via a nonlinear mapping technique. Then it carries on the linear principal components analysis in the high dimensional feature space. In addition, the weight of each index can be obtained in this model, thus it makes up another shortage of Principal Components Analysis. In the wastewater evaluation, the indices are numerous and the degree of correlation is not high, therefore, this model is more appropriate. Previous researches found that training significantly improved the comprehension ability of graphical symbols. One of the aims of this paper is to present a review of symbol-training. A summary of studies related to symbol training in past 40 years is given. Three symbol-training methods (i.e. paired-associate learning, recognition training, recall training) that were commonly used by ergonomists or industrial designers are identified. Such review had never been seen and would be helpful in formulating research plans and methodology for conducting other symbol-training studies. There does not appear to have been any research comparing the effectiveness of different symbol-training methods. Another purpose of this paper is to explore the comparison. Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used for thousands of years and recently imports the western technology of dosage production. Extraction is the critical process to the production of medicine concoction which affects the quality of dosage and the effectiveness of the medical treatment. Concentration and composition of the active pharmaceutical ingredients of the herbal concoction are the two key parameters in measuring the quality of the extracts. However, the controls of extraction have faced a number of difficulties. This paper describes the methods of measuring the two key parameters by a selected Chinese herbal prescription during the extraction. Experiments were carried out for the investigation of the characteristics of the changes of the Concentration and composition of the herbal concoction. Subsequently, the problems of extraction control are outlined. The model predictive control and the adaptive control applied to the production of the herbal concoction have been discussed. Gear shaving is commonly used as a finishing process for gear manufacturing. The parameters of the shaving machine will influence the precision of the shaved gear tooth profile significantly. This paper develops the mathematical model of the shaved gear with crowning taking into account the setting parameters of the gear shaving machine. The additional rotation angle is also set up when the shaving cutter moves along the axis of work piece. The shaved gear's tooth contact analysis is also studied. Speed sign detection is an important component of the driver assistant system, which is expected to enhance the safety of the next generation automotive vehicles. This paper outlines the application of Difference of Gaussian (DoG) filter for vision-based speed sign detection systems in difficult lightning conditions, such as nighttime. This paper describes how DoG filter can be used with the popular radial symmetry algorithm and shows that applying DoG filter significantly improves the algorithm's detection performance in such condition. Our experiments compare the performance of radial symmetry algorithm with and without using DoG filter. This paper presents a new method of ant algorithm to solve the Job-shop Scheduling Problem (JSP) which minimizes the makespan. This algorithm includes two important features, forward/backward scheduling and multi-colony approach. In general, a schedule is constructed by ants working in a forward direction, constructs the solutions in order of the precedence of processing sequences. In this paper, ants working in a backward direction, constructs the solution in the reversing order of processing sequences are introduced. Two types of ants exchange the information via modifying the pheromone trail in the same pheromone matrix. In multi-colony approach colonies of ants work independently but additional information from other colonies is also included. The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested over the benchmark problems. In this paper, combined descriptors of Connected Color Region (CCR) and moment invariants are proposed as color features for a Content-Based Image Retrieval system. CCR provides the spatial information and maximum co-occurrence color while moment invariants help to better distinguish different distribution of colors in the image. From the experiments, the retrieval results using only CCR descriptors depend on CCR block size. The smaller the size of the block, the higher the retrieval performance. However, if the block size is small, it requires longer retrieval time. Therefore, in this paper, color moment is introduced as additional feature to CCR descriptors to help compromising between retrieval performance and time. The retrieval results using both CCR with large block size and moment descriptors are comparable to those of using only CCR with small block size while require less amount of retrieval time. Automatic tracking of eyes is a challenging task, with numerous applications in biometrics, security, intelligent human-computer interfaces, and driver's drowsiness detection systems. Eye localization and extraction is, therefore, the first step in approaching such problems. In this paper, a novel approach for high speed iris detection is introduced. The paper proposes to detect iris based on arc separation and circle detection. The new algorithm is more accurate and flexible in addition to its high speed. This paper presents a query modification from user relevance feedback by multiple alignment for image retrieval. In this paper, we propose a novel idea of query modification by aligning multiple positive and negative feedbacks. A object-based image retrieval system is also implemented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Although the initial estimate of user perception is learned from the user feedback, the proposed system automatically modifies the query in question such that the new query agrees (disagrees) with the optimal set of common characteristics of the positive (negative) feedbacks by dynamic programming. The goal of the proposed multiple alignment technique is to move a query from its original position t o a meaningful position in the feature space according to user relevance feedback. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) systems and Grids share the same focus on harnessing resources across large-scale multi-administrative domains though having many different characteristics. The way of using P2P approaches to realize decentralized P2P Grid system extends the resource scalar exponentially. This paper presents a layered resource space model that has a good feature in expansibility, autonomy, modularity and loose coupling. In terms of this model a Bootstrap based on Distributed Hashing Table (DHT) is added into P2P Grid and a Peer Service is implemented in every node. The semantic-based resource management architecture and RPC protocols are discussed. A prototype experiment is realized with BT tracker functionality. This model could be used in P2P Grid systems and heterogeneous P2P systems as a reference for resource sharing and collaboration. The number of end-users using the Internet has been increasing. End-user initiative development of applications has become important for automation of end-users' own tasks. In particular, Web applications should be supported by domain experts themselves since Web applications must be modified frequently based on domain experts' ideas. This paper describes end-user initiative application development by Web service integration. The abstract forms are considered as interfaces of services based on the simple concept that "one service = one form." Therefore, Web service integration can be defined as form transformation from input forms into output forms. There are two problems for development of Web applications by Web service integration. One is how to communicate with conventional Web applications. The other is how to merge XML-based Web services. This paper proposes the Web page wrapping method by the HTML-to-XML transformation and the XML merging methods. In these methods, application-specific processes are described in XSLT stylesheets with visual tools by end-users, and application-independent processes are generated automatically. Nowadays, with increasing requirements of network users for intelligent security management, integrated network security solutions have been a new fashion. Integrated network security solutions aims in realizing centralized monitor, uniform policy management, intelligent audit and interaction among various security function modules. And in this way, it will simplify the task of network security management, improve security level, controllability and manageability of the network, as well as reduce user's overall spending for overall security management. Thus under this background, this paper discusses data management, which is a key functionality for integrated network security solutions. An integrated approach of data fusion and data mining is introduced to network security data management, since data mining produces attack scenario signatures for data fusion, while data fusion provides correlated data for data mining. Due to the complexity of methods for both data fusion and data mining, Web services are applied to network security data management in order to achieve flexibility, extensibility and exactness for integrated network security solutions. A Web services-based network security data management framework is then proposed in this paper, and this framework makes full use of Web services-based SOA, in order to progress a clear and convenient cycle of data management for integrated network security solutions. Information technologies have brought a new learning environment. Although learning a language is a challenging task, with the help of electronic devices learning a language could be more efficient. Mobile devices such as cell phones, personal digital assistant (PDA), and pocket PCs made it possible to learn anytime and anywhere. "Web services" have become a popular technology for the applications that are service-oriented and need to be integrated across different platforms. Furthermore, Web services allow the resources to be shared and the new service to be built by mashing up various Web services. Sharing and mashing up are the core idea of the Web 2.0. This paper presents a mobile English-Chinese/ Chinese-English learning system based on Web services. A number of features of the system such as an online English-Chinese/Chinese-English dictionary and a multi-player word guessing contest are explored. This paper discusses a Web-based parallel and distributed computing platform that supports multiple users to run experiments and optimizations with different deterministic/stochastic simulation systems. The platform is designed to be multi-tier client/server based in which all complex components, including various metaheuristic search algorithms, neural network based metamodels, deterministic/stochastic simulation systems and the corresponding database management system are integrated in a parallel and distributed platform and made available for general users to easily access, anytime, anywhere, through Web Services technology. In addition to revealing the system architecture of this platform, this paper also addresses the importance of logging simulation experiment results and optimization trajectories into the database to support advanced features like metamodelling, dynamically changing metaheuristic algorithms and fault tolerance within an integrated framework. In this paper, the traditional II equivalent circuit used to model the transformer is replaced by an ideal model in discrete optimal power flow (DOPF) formulation, which introduces a fictitious bus to express the power and voltage converting relations of the tap-changing transformer, so the admittance matrix is fixed during iterations to reduce computational efforts. Furthermore, this representation of transformer helps DOPF problem to be decoupled into two subproblems, which can improve computational efficiency greatly. Interior point method is used to solve continuous active power subproblem, and interior point cutting plane method (IPCPM) is adopted to solve discrete reactive power subproblem. Unfortunately, we find that the convex combination solution appears with great probability when solving DOPF problem, so in this paper IPCPM is improved to repair this shortcoming. Numerical simulations on IEEE14~300 test systems show that the improvement of IPCPM is efficient, and the proposed method is suitable for solving DOPF problems for large-scale systems. In this paper, a novel harmonic reduction technique in PWM AC voltage controller is proposed to reduce the harmonic contents in current waveform. Our technique is used to evaluate the optimal turn on and turn off angles in PWM such that the total current harmonic distortion is minimized. To accomplish this optimization tasks, in this paper, Genetic Algorithm (GA) is adopted. However, the evolved angles are only optimized at a given desired output voltage. To apply our proposed technique for all of output voltages, artificial neural network (ANN) is investigated to approximate the switching angles from sets of optimal angles evolved by GA. Simulation results show that our proposed technique is suited for designing and gains a better performance and reduction of current harmonics compared to conventional fixed-pulse PWM. The paper studied the cluster processing and efficiency on electrocardiogram waveform. 24 hours dynamic electrocardiogram waveforms were the analysis object. Analysis vectors were produced by wavelet transform, by which the feature of electrocardiogram was extracted. Four cluster methods were selected and compared in the paper on clustering efficiency and time complexity. According to the experiments result, on self-organization map (SOM) neural network, the basic waveform recognizing rate reached 77%, and accuracy rate reached 85%. It is the best in performance among others. Therefore, Technology Intelligence is a crucial topic, which is characterized from the perspective of strategic information management as identifying, analysing, and evaluating innovation of technologies. One of the methods that support Technology Intelligence is Bibliometrics, which is devoted to the quantitative analysis of literature by statistical means. Bibliometric research is most often used in the field of library science; it has also wide applications in other areas. In this paper, a Bibliometrics-based methodology is proposed, which aims at improving the acquisition processes in the context of Technology Intelligence. Following the methodology, all the necessary information is firstly collected and filtered through information retrieval. Secondly and most importantly, bibliometric analysis is used to summarize the retrieved information and to figure out the possible technology indicators, which characterize the development of technologies and their potential benefits. After expert consultations, the final technology indicators are identified and assigned with indicator values. The methodology is concretely explained via a case study. The methodology is embedded in the Technology Management System, which was developed by the Heinz Nixdorf Institute. Data collection is difficult to any network analysis because it is difficult to create a complete network. It is not easy to gain information on terrorist networks. It is fact that terrorist organizations do not provide information on their members and the government rarely allows researchers to use their intelligence data (Ressler S., 2006). Very few researchers (Krebs, V., 2002, Sageman, M., 2004 and Rodriguez, J. A., 2004) collected data from open sources, and to the best of our knowledge, no knowledge base is available in academia for the analysis of the terrorist events. To counter the information scarcity, we at Software Intelligence Security Research Center, Aalborg University Esbjerg Denmark designed and developed terrorism knowledge base by harvesting information from authenticated websites. In this paper we discuss data collection and analysis results on our on-going research of Investigative Data Mining (IDM). In addition, we present iMiner Information Harvesting System and describe how intelligence agencies could be benefited from detecting hierarchy in non-hierarchical terrorist networks. This paper mainly studies the data communication protocols of control area network (CAN) for the vehicle information systems. The objective is to create the environment of the line replaceable unit (LRU) in these systems. The data transmitted from CANBus are one of the valuable resources. There are 8 bytes of them in each transmission. If they are appropriately planned, the data communication protocol can improve the efficiency of the communication, e.g., arbitrations, masks, filters of nodes for CAN can be assigned arbitrarily on line. Even the software of CAN unit can be upgraded and downloaded on line, too. A combination of OFDM with FDMA called OFDMA is regarded as a promising solution for improving the performance of BWA with multiple users. Although transmit diversity is clearly advantageous on OFDMA systems, it may not be possible that practical OFDMA systems have more than two antennas due to size, cost, or hardware limitations. Cooperative networks aim to utilize the available terminals as a collection of distributed antennas for the transmission of signals from one end of the network to the other. Authorization delegation is one of important features of a flexible access control model. In this paper, we discuss some drawbacks of the existing role-based delegation models, and then by introducing the idea of using RBAC itself to manage RBAC, we propose a new self-administrative sub-role based delegation model ASRBDM. It deals with user-to-user delegation and role-to-role delegation. It supports flexible delegation by dividing a role into sub-roles according to characteristics of permissions assigned to the role and considering delegation and inheritance simultaneously. The new delegation model sets up more convenient and flexible authorization and delegation mechanisms, and will be extensively used in decentralizing network and workflow management systems. Currently researches on the role-based delegation model still stay around the theories stage and applications supporting authorization delegation are rarely. The paper also designs a sub-role based authorization delegation system (ADS) to support authorization and delegation simultaneously based upon the proposed ASRBDM model. It is well known that the interest rate models discussed in the areas of "interest rate derivatives", such as standard market models, models of the short rate and some advanced models to predict the options, futures and other derivatives in the marketing, which will be first introduced in the area of deployed passive radio frequency identification (RFID) systems to investigate the security system in this paper. In the RFID systems based on low-cost computing devices are small, inexpensive microchips capable of transmitting unique identifiers wirelessly, which make it dramatically increases the ability of the organization to acquire a vast array of data about the location and properties of any entity that can be physically tagged and wirelessly scanned within certain technical limitations. However, its security has become one of major concernments in RFID systems. This paper presented the separation model for two source frequency modulation (FM) signals. When transmitting signals at the same frequency, it'll cause co-channel interference. The amplitude-locked loop (ALL) system works to improve the phase-locked loop (PLL) system for separating co-channel signals. The ALL system can be separated the dominant and the subdominant signals from each other. The advantage of method does not require coding process from modulation, when signals are conveyed by co-channel transmission. This paper showed and demonstrated that different interference to carrier ratio characteristics by using power spectral density (PSD) and realized a digital receiver for signal intercepted applications in ALL system. Wireless sensor node is composed of computational unit, sensing unit and a radio unit for communication, all embedded in a tiny unit. Maximum battery power is consumed by communication unit. Battery power is the prime source for wireless sensor node to function. Hence every aspects of wireless sensor network (WSN) are designed with energy constraints. ART1 and Fuzzy ART Neural Network models can be used very efficiently for developing Real time Classifier. Wireless sensor networks demand for the real time classification of sensor data. In this paper classification and clustering techniques using ART1 and Fuzzy ART is discussed. The proposed classifier can be a part of embedded microsensor. The paper discusses classification technique, which can reduce the energy need for communication. As XML, because an official recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in 1998, it is increasingly being used to transmit data on networks but is a verbose format and needs an efficient encoding to send relatively large amounts of data efficiently, which is most attractive to wireless data communications. It is a common technical challenge for researchers in XML-driven networks to have good performance. There are many papers discussed this issues, such as one may employ a middleware to enhance performance by minimizing the impact of transmission time [1, 3]. Normally, to reduce the amount of data sent the XML documents are converted to a binary format using a compression routine such as Gzip. However while this would reduce the amount of data, it results in an increase in the CPU time as the XML document must be compressed before being sent and uncompressed when it is received. In this paper we extended our previous research results [2, 11-14] to an enabling technology, namely Dynamic Adaptive Threshold Transmission (DATT) for XML data on networks, in particularly focusing on "dynamic" nature. We also show the experimental results obtained from our technique and that from the Network Adaptable Middleware (NAM) established by Ghandeharizadeh et al [1]. Adaptive middleware and wireless networks are hot topics in many discussions today. Literature describes a lot of approaches which are based upon existing middleware technologies by adding functionalities for adaptive behavior. Disadvantage of this proceeding is the resulting dependence upon the interface provided by the underlying middleware. This paper will describe a whole new approach for adaptive middleware which is on the one hand able to manage and organize a complex mobile wireless network. On the other hand it interprets requirements demanded from mobile services which are running on top of it. These requirements are described within a meta information base which comes along with a mobile service. Using this additional information the middleware adapts its behavior to optimize the performance of the complete network. To understand the behavior of the middleware this paper will first give a short description of the structure of the middleware. Subsequently it will classify four different abstraction layers starting with a view onto the entire network up to the fine-tuning mechanisms within the middleware itself. Manufacturing enterprises are now moving towards open architectures for integrating their activities with those of their suppliers and customers within wide supply chain networks. Traditional knowledge engineering approaches with large scale or very large scale knowledge bases are not suited for such widely distributed systems. Agent-based technology provides a natural way for resolving this problem. This paper presents a multi agent intelligent architecture for modeling manufacturing enterprises so as to integrate design, planning, scheduling, simulation, execution, material supply, and marketing services into a distributed intelligent open environment. This paper proposes a multi-agent intelligent enterprise resource planning (MAIERP) system that uses the characteristics and capabilities of software agents to achieve enterprise wide integration. A software agent is a self-contained, autonomous software unit that performs assigned tasks from the human user and interacts/communicates with other applications and other software agents in different platforms to complete the tasks. Four types of intelligent software agents (interface agents, coordinating agents, planning agents, executions agents) are examined and argued in the proposed MAIERP system architecture. We demonstrate how the proposed MAIERP system takes advantage of existing information systems among various functional areas to achieve the system integration of available enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, while avoiding numerous problems encountered during a typical ERP implementation. The Handwriting Segmentation has been studying widely. The Segmentation methods are normally language dependent. This paper focus on segmentation of online Thai handwritten. Typically, Thai letter are written isolated with one stroke per character. But, if a writer writes at fast speed, two or more characters can be written within one stroke. In order to get high recognition rate in this case, it is important to investigate how online handwritten are connected and how to separate them. This paper presents a combined model approach of Fuzzy Logic and Genetic Algorithm applied for non-linear behavioral compensation of Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR), for its improved performance (optimal variable output voltage). The optimized parametric compensation of SCR will be done by amalgamated algorithm of Fuzzy Logic Control and Genetic Algorithm. It is a shift from existing practice of Fuzzy Logic based control /compensation, as reported in the literature. In this work, a Fuzzy Logic based optimal control system has been developed for input voltage regulation of SCR, which is further optimized by Genetic Algorithm. The input voltage regulation of SCR is needed to meet the varying load current demand in various industrial applications of the device. The proposed scheme as presented in this paper leads to the optimal regulation of input voltage for SCR. The results have shown a remarkable reduction in the error which was otherwise existing in the device and its application circuit. The accuracy level at the output of the SCR after the implementation of the proposed amalgamated algorithm is ranging between 99.0 to 99.5%. In this paper, multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) is proposed to combine the advantages of fixed-structure robust H∞ control and the model reference control. Robust controller designed by the conventional H∞ optimal control is complicated and high order. This problem can be solved by using a genetic algorithm to search the optimal parameters in a specified structure robust controller. The fitness function for this technique is based on the concept of robust control, which normally is specified in frequency domain. However, in many cases, time domain specifications such as overshoot, undershoot, rise time are also important. To enhance the GA based robust control technique, in this paper, the cost function of model reference control is added into the GA process to incorporate the time domain specification. By the proposed approach, the robustness, frequency domain and time domain specifications can be achieved simultaneously. A pseudo-reverse approach is presented in this paper to analyze the evolutionary behaviour of enzymes. It employs the standard model of Nei and Gojobori [1] in a generalized form for determining the nucleotide substitutions and Jukes and Cantor's [2] model for finding the out their rates. Comparative genomics is also embedded in this model to calculate the lineages among the species like human, mouse and rat for these enzyme proteins. It is predicted from this study that the mutation for the enzymes are comparatively slower than ordinary proteins and the time of divergence for these enzymes with human and mouse or rat is almost five times more, around 400 Million years. This paper presents the importance of formulating general discrete-time model representations for current pathway modeling study. Discrete-time models can be considered as a link between continuous-time kinetic reactions and discrete-time experimentation as well as computer based simulation and analysis. In the paper, different discretization techniques are investigated according to different sorts of ODE model structures. Two discretization strategies are mainly focused, that are one-step-ahead Taylor series based method and multi-step-ahead Runge-Kutta method. A new discretization approach based on Taylor expansion and Carleman linearization is proposed for bilinear in states pathway models. Recently, in digital distance relaying, different methods have been proposed for fault location estimation using one-end data and two-end data. The first method is more practical and economical since no communication channels and special devices are needed as in method "2". The first part of this paper proposes a new accurate approach for fault section estimation using probabilistic neural network based on the phase voltages and line currents phasor measurements from one end of the power transmission line. This approach takes the combined effect of fault resistance and load flow into consideration in the training data and assumes fault type is available. The second part of the paper suggests a recent method to estimate the error in voltage measurements at the relay point due to the existence of ground resistance and load current using generalized regression neural network (GRNN). Finally, modular SCGNN operates successively with PNN and GRNN to estimate the distance to the fault accurately at each section with the aid of positive, negative, zero sequence components of voltages and zero sequence current. A standard genetic algorithm is asexual. To mimic nature more closely, this paper incorporates gender in a genetic algorithm. Two individuals from opposite sex are permitted for reproduction. Earlier researchers considered that the gender of the offspring depends on the gender of the individual removed from the population. Thus the number of males and females are kept constant. This assumption was relaxed by introducing randomness during gender assignment to the offspring after the crossover operation. However, due to the stochastic nature of the process, this may generate a population of single sex which leads to no regeneration being possible. This paper introduces adaptive gender assignment to the offspring so that the gender of the offspring is decided based on the gender density in the population.
