Extensive collections of data of linguistic, historical and socio-cultural importance are stored in libraries, museums and national archives with enormous potential to support research. However, a sizable portion of the data remains underutilised because of a lack of the required knowledge to model the data semantically and convert it into a format suitable for the semantic web. Although many institutions have produced digital versions of their collection, semantic enrichment, interlinking and exploration are still missing from digitised versions. In this paper, we present a model that provides structure and semantics to a non-standard linguistic and historical data collection on the example of the Bavarian dialects in Austria at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. We followed a semantic modelling approach that utilises the knowledge of domain experts and the corresponding schema produced during the data collection process. The model is used to enrich, interlink and publish the collection semantically. The dataset includes questionnaires and answers as well as supplementary information about the circumstances of the data collection (person, location, time, etc.). The semantic uplift is demonstrated by converting a subset of the collection to a Linked Open Data (LOD) format, where domain experts evaluated the model and the resulting dataset for its support of user queries. This paper explores the benefits of using Virtual Reality (VR) technologies in higher education. The theoretical part investigates the classical education system and its features in order to compare advantages of using VR systems in education. VR technologies and its current state in industry and in education were explored in addition to which branches of higher education use these systems. A survey was conducted through an online questionnaire where respondents (N = 55) gave their opinion on VR and the implementation of VR technologies in education. Three hypotheses related to the use of VR technology, student interest, and learning outcomes as well as the effectiveness, immersiveness and the effect of VR systems on the users were tested through 27 questions. This research applies exposure to the visual appearance technology of virtual reality (VR). The motivation for this research is to generate a creative intervention by using regular smartphone devices and implementing them in VR using Google Cardboard as a medium visual display for exposure therapy at high altitudes. The VR application in this research is called acrophobia immersive virtual exposure (AIVE), which utilizes the Unity3D software to develop this treatment therapy application. The utilization of exposure therapy was carried out as a therapeutic medium for acrophobia sufferers. A commissioner was given to measure the usefulness of applications and devices in the VR environment created, and as many as 20 users had tested the VR device. The existing questionnaire was revised to develop a questionnaire for acrophobia sufferers, which was then used as an index measurement in the VR environment. The research is expected to be used to design a simulator and as a therapeutic medium using immersive VR devices in future studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research explores the factors that influence students' continuous usage intention regarding online learning platforms from the perspectives of social capital, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use. The questionnaire survey method was used in the research to analyze the relationship between the research variables and verify the hypothesis based on data from 248 collected valid questionnaire responses. The following results were obtained: (1) "Social interaction ties" positively affect students' continuous usage intention. (2) "Shared language" negatively affects students' continuous usage intention. (3) "Shared vision" positively affects students' continuous usage intention. (4) "Perceived usefulness" positively affects students' continuous usage intention. (5) "Perceived ease of use" positively affects students' continuous usage intention. According to the results, students believe in useful teaching that promotes knowledge and skills. The ease of use of learning tools is key to whether they can learn successfully. Paying attention to the interaction and communication between students, so that students have a shared goal and participate in teamwork, is something that teachers must pay attention to in the course of operation. The professional vocabulary of the teaching content and the way of announcing information should avoid using difficult terminology, which is also a point to which teachers need to pay attention. Practitioners and researchers have shown great interest in information-technology (IT)-enabled interactions across partnering firms and developed instruments for measuring it. However, those instruments might have been under criticism as they were developed before the widespread adoption of the new IT applications like video conferences, DingTalk and WeChat Moments among Chinese managers for the last five years. The purpose of this study is to validate the instrument of IT-enabled formal and informal interactions for the contemporary Chinese context. First, the study reviews the literature on IT-enabled interfirm interactions and designs an open questionnaire through in-depth interviews. Answers from 85 pairs of suppliers and manufacturers are coded and the preliminary item pool is generated through the qualitative analysis. Next, a small-scale pretest with 120 manufacturing firms is conducted to purify and modify the item pool. Finally, a large-scale analysis with 336 manufacturing firms is conducted to check the reliability and validity of the measurements. The finalized scale yields six items measuring IT-enabled formal interaction and five items measuring IT-enabled informal interaction, among which six are newly derived in this study. The validated instrument reveals satisfactory reliability and validity and can serve as the basic instruments for future research on IT-enabled interactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
