This article presents a list of books on sociology, received by the "British Journal of Sociology," between January and March 1964. Some of the books include "Local Government in Developing Countries," by H.F. Alderfer, "The English Voter," by A.J. Allen, "Dimensions of Work," by N. Anderson, "The People Called Shakers," by E.D. Andrews and "Population and Society in the Arab East," by G. Baer.

The article presents a list of books reviewed in the February 3, 1972 issue of the journal "British Journal of Sociology." Some of the books listed are "Student Life in a Class Society," by J. Abbott, "Model Building in Sociology," by P. Abell, "Industrial Democracy: Yugoslav Style," by I. Adizes, "New Minorities, Old Conflicts: Asian and West Indian Migrants in Great Britain," by S. Allen, "Family Structure in Nineteenth Century Lancashire," M. Anderson, "Students, University and Society," edited by M.S. Archer, "Contemporary Europe: Class, Status and Power," edited by M.S. Archer and S. Giner, "Orthodox Consensus and Radical Alternative: A Study in Sociological Theory," by D. Atkinson.

The article compares influentials in contemporary American and British sociology for a time span for 11 years, between 1958-68. Authors of the article have compared names of the men most cited in journals "American Sociological Review" and "British Journal of Sociology" for two time periods and have found that lists for the second time period contained a larger number of names in common than the list for the first period. This finding was interpreted as support for the thesis that sociology is becoming more international. A comparison of the two American lists revealed no essential differences in the national origin of the most important influentials for the two periods. A similar examination of the two British lists revealed that contemporary sociologists from the U.S. are becoming increasingly influential in British sociology. It was therefore suggested that the internationalization of sociology may, for the immediate future, be equivalent or almost equivalent to the Americanization of sociology.

The article presents comments of the author on sociologist Stewart Dickson's article "Class attitudes to dental treatment," that was published in the June 1968 issue of the "British Journal of Sociology" appears to contain several serious deficiencies. Dickson is concerned to show that the middle class are more dentally conscious and attend the dentist more regularly than the working class. In the author's opinion, the study, for the following four reasons, does not conclusively demonstrate that. The study quite correctly told in the first sentence that social research into medical treatment has shown that class attitudes are extremely prevalent. This crucial statement in Dickson's preamble is not supported with any real evidence. Moreover, one is not told where to look in the periodical "Sociology in Medicine" for the material Dickson is referring to. The omission of more direct and impressive citations is a serious deficiency because Dickson proceeds to derive postulates from his relatively unsupported preamble.
