The papermaking black liquor of one Paper Mill in ChaoZhou, GuangDong Province was treated with the wet oxidation method and the influence on treatment effect with the reaction pressure was researched. Experimental results showed that the papermaking black liquor was treated by the wet oxidation method; the treatment effect was showed upward trend with the increase of the reaction pressure, and the reaction pressure of 3.5 MPa is appropriate. The papermaking black liquor was treated by the wet oxidation method, the influent pH about 8.00 showing weakly alkaline basically. The decolorization removal and turbidity removal first increases and then slightly decreases basically with the increase of reaction time.When the reaction time is 60 min, the treatment effect is overall best. The decolorization removal can reach 61.1 % and the turbidity removal can reach 73.8 %.

In this paper, we focus on the possibility for Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB) Biomass Utilization by experimenting with chemi-refiner mechanical pulping (CRMP). To understand the process of CRMP, a short description of five comparable experiments and effects of refiner plate dam on coarse pulp properties is given. Plate dams offer a chance to utilize different alternatives needed to defibrate OPEFB and develop fiber in a more efficient way. From the experimental results, we also assume the possibility of a refining mechanism of defibration by friction of fiber to fiber interaction occurring mainly at the primary stage high consistency refining; the second stage is for fiber properties development by fibrillation at medium consistency. The effect of the undammed refiner plates is cutting more than fibrillation at high consistency, and fibrillation more than cutting at mid-consistency; The effect of the dammed plates is more friction than cutting at high consistency and more fiber fracture at medium consistency.

Recycling of waste paper is demanded because of the shortage of forest resources, the pollution of environment and the scarcity of papermaking materials. It is important to raise the proportion of waste paper in the fiber materials in papermaking industry. Floating/washing method was used here with imported Old Newspaper (ONP) as elementary material. This article studied the deinking performances of many kinds of surfactants primarily. Among them several surfactants were picked out as deinking agent of Old Newspaper (ONP) because of their better deinking effect.

A new low cost microfluidic device has been designed and fabricated. Three thread microchannels were fabricated using tape and three indicting filter papers were also made by dipping three filter papers into sodium nitrite with different concentration. The side of the thread microchannels was connected to the indicting filter papers and then mounted on a 1280yx-LiNbO3piezoelectric substrate, on which an interdigital transducer and reflector were fabricated using microeletric technology. PDMS film was coated to avoid the evaporation of microfluid transporting in the thread based microchannels. When a 25.5MHz RF signal with 25.4dBm power was applied on the IDT, the microfluid on the piezoelectric substrate was actuated by surface acoustic wave and transported along the thread microchannels, and reacted with nitrite ion in the indicting filter paper. Experimental results show that the thread-piezoelectric substrate microfluidic device can be used for biological or chemical analysis.

This paper based on the unified strength theory, analyzed the ultimate bearing capacity of the reinforced concrete columns combined with FRP under axial loads. First, analyzed the mechanical property of the RC columns combined with FRP. Second, based on the unified strength theory, deduced the three-direction compressive stress of the core concrete and got the unified formula for calculating the ultimate bearing capacity of RC columns combined with FRP. Last, compared the analytical results obtained in this paper with the relevant experimental data, good agreement can be found and it proved the good applicability of the formula. Comparing with other methods in calculating the ultimate bearing capacity of RC columns combined with FRP，this method is well-founded, so it has a significant value in analysis of RC columns combined with FRP.

This paper takes the urban sewage as treatment target, analyses chemical phosphorous removal effect of PFS, PAC, PAFSI, PAFC and the PAFC which is used by Wu Family Village sewage treatment plant. Taking into consideration of the economic factors in actual operation, the author proposed that the PAFC used by Wu Family Village sewage treatment plant should be served as a chemical auxiliary medicament, under β ≤ 4.33 conditions, β values and effluent TP concentration showed a good correlation. In this paper, the mixing intensity, mixing time, dosage and pH are treated as mainly investigate factors, the four factors and three levels orthogonal test is established. The flocculation conditions of best treatment effect on the effluent TP are as follows: mixing intensity is 200 r/min, stirring time is 90s , dosage is 220 mg / L and pH is 6.CLC number: X703.5

The extended uses of mineral oil based lubricant have continuously troubling the global environment issues. The remaining mineral oil resources also being the most debated issues in renewable energy conferences. Vegetable oils are still offering the highest possibility in replacing the mineral oil resources. This research is concerning on how to eliminate one of the disabilities found in palm oil based lubricant which is oxidation. Palm oil possessed unsaturated double bond in which susceptible to oxidation process. The simplest approach is to blend the palm oil based with anti – oxidant agent homogenously. This research was conducted using double fractionated palm oil (SPL) as lubricant and Tertiary-Butyl-Hydroquinone (TBHQ) as anti – oxidant agent to determine the tribology behavior including the coefficient of friction, wear scar diameter and the surface roughness profile. The experiment was also conducted using four-ball tribotester by following ASTM D4172B standard. Superior Mineral Engine Oil (EO) was used as comparison. The results found that SPL+TBHQ was able to reduce the coefficient of friction and provided lower surface roughness value. However it was unable to minimize the mean wear scar diameter compared to EO. The physical appearances of wear worn are also being observed in this research.

Cleaner production is one of sustainable development approaches for wastepaper papermaking industry. Current situation of a wastepaper papermaking enterprise was analyzed, and it showed that the unit product energy consumption, pollutant generation had large cleaner production potential. 16 cleaner production solutions were generated through material balance analysis, advanced technologies collection, experts consultation and other ways. After the plans were carried out, 7.83% of pollutants were cut down, 7.62% of energy was saved, 1.57% of waste paper was reduced, 1.68% of dry fiber raw material was decreased, and 8.80% of reused industrial water increased equally. Cleaner production was an effective way for wastepaper papermaking industry to save energy, reduce energy consumption, reduce pollution, and increase benefit.

It combined the coalfield structure research method and Hunans actual situation showed that coal occurrence in Hunan controlled by the regional tectonic framework and tectonic evolution history. The coal occurrence has the conspicuous characteristics of partition, zoning and Classification. Synthesize the plans of geotectonic unit division and coal occurrence unit division, we proposed the new concept of occurrence tectonic unit of coal, divided Hunan into two secondary and five third occurrence tectonic units of coal and studied the characteristics of each unit. We also divided three types of the styles of structure control of coal.

This paper based on the feature of Beijing urban rail transit sectional passenger flow, combined with Elman neural network. After carrying out modeling experiment many times, a reasonable forecast model about the prediction of urban rail transit sectional passenger flow was established. Then the Elman neural network model was used to predict the sectional passenger flow of Beijing Subway Line 1, from Xidan station to Fuxingmen Station. At last the output results was compared with that of BP neural network, the result shows that the Elman neural network is more precise and effective than the BP neural network in the prediction of urban rail transit sectional passenger flow.

The most proportion of mineral impurities in this coal sample is Kaolin, which is very argilliferous and harmful for fine coal flotation. In this paper, the authors use recleaning process and add depressant inslurryto reduce the concentrate ash. The results show that the most appropriate depressant is sodium haxametaphosphate and the best flotation conditions are 80g/L feed concentration, 0.80l/t Kerosene dosage, 0.06l/t 2-octyl alcohol dosage, approximately 800g/t sodium haxametaphosphate dosage, and 4 minutes depressant action time. Consequently, the concentrate ash content decreases 5% than batch-floatation test.

Fish cake is a popular cuisine among Thai people. However, the production process of pieces of raw fish cake still uses human labors so the production yield is quite low and it takes more consumption time. Moreover, the sizes of pieces of raw fish cake are not uniform. Therefore, the researchers aimed to design and construct a fish cake making machine to help improve the practical fish cake production process. The results showed that the fish cake making machine could manage raw fish cake into 20 even, round shaped pieces with a 50 mm diameter, 8 mm thickness within a minute. It required electrical power from an electric motor harboring 220 volt (AC), 60 watts, and speed at 28 rpm. The consumed electrical power was approximately 0.19 baht per hr. The results showed that with the qualification of fish cake making machine that can make several pieces of raw fish cake at the same size, the users satisfied it at least 70%. It is expected that more development of this fish cake machine will be tentatively worldwide applied in the food industry.

At the ambient temperatures, the influence of operating conditions on persulfate (S2O8) oxidation of real textile wastewater was investigated for the removal of color, suspended solids (SS) and chemical oxygen demand (COD). The effects of oxidant dosage, initial solution pH and contact time were studied in a series of batch experiments using persulfate (PS) oxidant as sodium persulfate. Oxidant dose was defined by an oxidant/contaminant (PS/COD) molar ratio, varied from 1/1-10/1. Although parameter removals increased with the oxidant dose, especially for color and SS, a PS/COD molar ratio of 4/1 (6720mg/L) was adopted in a bid to use fewer chemicals. The pH was varied from 2-11, with pH of between 2 and 3 being the optimum. At 360minutes contact time, the removals of color, SS and COD were 84%; 71% and 32% respectively. Although relatively effective, especially for color removal, results show that the reactions might have been inhibited at ambient temperatures as shown by the particularly low removal of COD.

TheProduction of biofuel from biomass sources is believed to reduce the reliance of fossil fuel and its cost. This investigation was aimed to produce and characterize the bio-oil obtained from co-pyrolysis. Two different feed stocks were used for co-pyrolysis; one is Mahua seed (MS) and the other one is Polystyrene (PS). The effect in addition of plastic to biomass in pyrolysis process were investigated on the yield and quality of products. Experiments were conducted in a semi-batch pyrolysis reactor under various parameters of temperature, heating rate and blending ratio. The results indicated that a temperature of 525 °C, and blend ratio of 1:1is maximumwith a heating rate of 20 °C/min. The yield of bio-oil obtained from the co-pyrolysis was found to be approximately 71%, which was higher about 22% than that of yield obtained from pyrolysis of Mahua seed (MS) alone. Further the bio-oil was characterized using different spectroscopic and chromatographic analyses. The analysis of the results for characterization of bio-oil indicated that the synergetic effect increased the bio-oil yield and its quality.

Currently, cutting umbilical (root) process of dehydrated garlic slice processing plant has not been realized mechanization in China, and mostly completed by manual. Cutting umbilical (root) efficiency is low and the quality is difficult to guarantee. In this paper based on image processing, the demarcation line between garlic umbilical and garlic meat is measured, and then the measured data is transmitted to MCU control system of garlic umbilical (root) cutting machine through serial port communication technology. MCU system controls the gear motor to drive ball screw moving accurately and cutting garlic umbilical. The cutting error is less than 0.5 mm. This system adopts image processing technology and electromechanical integration technology, realizes the automation cutting of garlic umbilical (root).

Under external loads, the continuously prefabricated slab of double-block ballastless track may crack easily. The cracks will reduce the durability and carrying capacity of the roadbed slab. Moreover, the cracks may also affect the use and safety of the double-block ballastless track during its service. When the roadbed slab crack, we should take some maintenance measures to maintain the normal use and durability of the double-block ballastless track. This paper based on the finite element method, established a beam-brick model for double-block ballastless track which has a through crack on the roadbed slab to analysis what kind of patching material is the most suitable when the most unfavorable loads act on the track. For this reason, we can provide theoretical basis for maintenance of double-block ballastless track .

Comparing various methods of multi-objective decision making, we find data envelopment analysis method is very suitable for handling multi-input, especially multi-output problems, and also get lots of useful management information. Natural Science Foundation research activity, having multi-input and multi-output variable, is a typical multi-objective decision problem, so it is ideal for using DEA method to study the effectiveness and implementation results of the activity. Therefore, the paper based on the models of C2R and C2GS2, excess input and output shortage of DEA method and taking the Natural Science Foundation of Hebei Province as the research object measures and analyzes the implementation results of different years and types of research activities. The conclusion is that the implementation effect of the Natural Science Foundation of Hebei Province is well overall and it has a good development trend but uneven development in different years, different units and disciplines, namely that implementation results are quite different.

At present, China's large span continuous rigid frame bridge (CRFB) has made rapid development, and has been applied in the railway bridges. This paper based on finite element analysis software ANSYS, using the simplified algorithm, establish a line - bridge - pier integration model for calculation of continuous welded rail (CWR) on bridge, the continuous rigid bridge and continuous rigid frame bridge (CGB) in two different conditions were compared and analyzed. The calculation results show that: the rail expansion force, bending force, braking force, rail broken gap of CRFB are smaller than that of the CGB of same beam span, in CWR, CRFB has obvious advantages, it should be popularized.; equivalent temperature span of CRFB are smaller than that of the CGB of same beam span, so the CRFB is less affected by the temperature; because of the pier and girder consolidation of CRFB, favorable to CWR, but due to the bending effect of bridge piers can lead to beam produces larger vertical deformation, thus affecting the track smoothness, which must be noticed in design.

In current years, many researches have been worked to find new sources of alternative fuels. In this situation, the water hyacinth will be a new source for bioethanol. In this study, bioethanol extracted from water hyacinth is blended with diesel (5-BED, 5% bioethanol and 95% diesel v/v) and has been used to experimentally investigate the diesel engine performance and emission. The response surface methodology (RSM) technique with three engine operating variables like (i) Load, (ii) Compression ratio (CR) and (iii) Fuel Injection pressure (FIP) has been implemented to evaluate diesel engine performance using bioethanol diesel blend. The equations were obtained for Brake power (BP), Brake mean effective pressure (BMEP), Brake thermal efficiency (BTHE), and NO emission by using quadratic polynomial

This article explores treatment method of waste fountain solution from sheet-fed offset printing. First calcium chlorate is used to have a oxidation treatment for the waste water, then it is dealt with composite coagulants polyaluminium chloride (PAC) and cation polyacrylamide (CPAM) under different pH value. The results show that quality of the waste fountain solution could reach the national second-grade standard of sewage comprehensive discharge through the above treatment (GB 8978--1996) when treating with 0.7 g/L calcium hypochlorite and then sinking with PAC 4.0 g/L, CPAM 75.0 mg/L under the pH value of 8.0 for about 10 minutes. With the optimum treatment conditions removal rates of COD, ammonia nitrogen, phosphate and hexavalent chromium are above 90%, 94%, near to 98% and above 99% respectively.

t is a developing trend for the filter aids industry that producing filter aids using the diatomite concentrate of beneficiation owing to the limited resources of high quality diatomite. In the present paper the characteristics of diatomite concentrate from LinJiang were studied systematically. Additionally, blending processes of diatomite with flux, disintegration methods after calcination, effect of distribution of size and soaking time of filter aids on the permeability are explored. It is expected to be significative to the industries of filter aids preparation and filtration applications.

Thermal compression is effective for solid-liquid separation of various materials. In this paper, thermal compression was applied on the dewatering of sewage sludge with coal as a filter aid. Experiments with 0.25-1 mm coal particles (0.2 kg coal/kg dry sludge solid) obtained cakes of solid content over 49%. Higher dosage of coal generated cakes with lower moisture content. The combustion behavior of the sludge cake was studied using TG/DTG analysis. The results showed that a total weight loss of 65.1% occurred from 25 °C to 800 °C, including two major weight loss stages corresponding to loss of moisture and volatile materials respectively.

Deinked pulp flotation column has been applied in wastepaper recycling. Bubble size in deinked pulp flotation column is very important during the flotation process. In this paper, bubble images of deinked pulp flotation column are first caught by digital camera, and then the bubbles are detected by using a bubble detection algorithm based on wavelet transform and canny operators. The results show the algorithms are very practical and effective on bubble detection in deinked pulp flotation column.

This Paenibacillus polymyxa (P1) was fermented under the specific conditions and extracted the microbial flocculant (MBFP1) whose main components were polysaccharide. Compounded the MBFP1 and modified sepiolite fibers according to a certain mass ratio to make the microbial flocculant/sepiolite fibers water treatment materials (MBFSF), then analyzed their microstructure by SEM,and studied on the pollutants removal capacity in domestic sewage.The results show that,COD removal rate in domestic sewage can reach 97.2%,when pH=7.2 and the addition quantity of MBFSF is 15mg/L,in which the composite mass ratio of MBFP1 and sepiolite fibers is 5:2.Therefore,MBFSF has many advantages such as little dosage,high flocculating rate,fast settling velocity and no pollution,etc.

Malaysia has great potential for biomass stock. The fact that oil palm fronds contain high moisture content makes it unsuitable to be used directly as a biomass fuel neither for direct combustion nor gasification. Conventional and costly drying methods make the fronds a non-attractive fuel especially in humid tropical countries, where sources of biomass is abundant. A new solar dryer design is proposed that utilizes concentrated solar thermal energy for drying oil palm fronds. A prototype for the dryer has been fabricated and tested. The system’s target is to maximize the thermal energy received by the system and to minimize energy loss out of the system. Experiments were performed on samples of oil palm fronds at a drying temperature not exceeding 110°C; in order not to affect the organic material of the biomass. Results were compared with another experiment performed at the same temperature. An electric oven was used for drying. The samples were completely dried using the proposed system for 6.5 hours, compared to 10.5 hours by using the electric oven. The proposed system achieved an average drying rate of 4.75 g/hr compared to an average drying rate of 2.83 g/hr using the electric oven. The efficiency of the dryer was calculated to be 55.4%, implying good potential of the proposed system.

The study explores pretreatment of textile Wastewater by using CaO2/H+/Fe2+ advanced Fenton-like oxidation technology. The result show that when the initial COD is 2200mg/L, the pH=3, the reaction time is 40min, the speed is 150r/min, the dosage of calcium peroxide is 24g/L and the dosage of FeSO4 is 2g/L at 25°C, the removal rate of COD reach 81.82% and the decolorization rate is 99.93%. Compared to the pure CaO2 oxidation, COD removal rate increased significantly and its processing effect is greatly increased; whereas Compared to the advanced Fenton oxidation technology, this kind of Fenton-like system greatly reduces the cost, improve the effect of effluent, provide new way for calcium peroxide used in wastewater treatment.

In order to find the more suitable drying schedule, this test, by adopting 100°Cdrying test method, studies the index of drying characteristics of Masson pine deresination wood, examines and evaluates the drying quality grade indexes. Based on the results, a drying schedule reference was drawn up.

Porous concrete planted with grass is attractive both environmentally and esthetically for applications in residential driveway, sidewalk and parking lots. Disposal of papermaking sludge is a challenging environmental problem. As a possible solution, grass cultivation in porous concrete filled with mixtures of papermaking sludge and soil was studied. Bermuda grass, Perennial ryegrass, and Tall Fescue were tested. Experimental results showed that the papermaking sludge retarded the germination of grass seeds only slightly, while promoted the growth of grass stems and the development of grass roots significantly. The optimum ratio of the papermaking sludge to soil appears to be in the range of 25 to 50%. Therefore, it is believed that papermaking sludge is suitable for grasses cultivation in the porous concrete.

Empty fruit bunches (EFB) is a good lingo-cellulosic biomass to produce bio-ethanol, to generate electricity by using chemical or thermo-chemical conversion processes respectively. It is one of the potential renewable energy sources to reduce the dependency on fossil fuels and environment pollution. It is found that about 6% of diesel fuel can be saved by using palm oil EFB based converted bio-ethanol. By using thermo-chemical conversion of palm oil EFB, about 5% electrical energy demands can be fulfilled.

The total phosphorus in water mainly exists in the forms of phosphate, condensed phosphate, and the compound of organophosphorus. Chemical sampling analysis method has low measuring accuracy and takes long time. NIPGA technology is used in order to detect the total phosphorus content in sewage quickly, and MCNP-4C is used to take simulating calculation. The calculating results show that the measuring accuracy is lower when the total phosphorus content is less than 0.10 mg/L. But this approach can meet the measurement requirements of total phosphorus content in II-type, III-type, IV-type and V-type water.

The removal of geosmin by powered activated carbon (PAC) was studied at laboratory to select suitable PAC type and the removal efficiencies of geosmin by PAC in different application point as an emergency method were evaluated. The adsorption efficiency of coal-based PAC on geosmin was superior to that of bamboo-based PAC. The contact time and PAC dose were two important factors that affect the removal effect of geosmin. Geosmin could be controled below 10ng/L at 200ng/L of initial concentration.

Polysilicate aluminum and magnesium (PSAM) was prepared by using aluminum sulfate, magnesium sulfate, sodium silicate, sodium hydroxide as raw materials. Taking domestic sewage from Xingtai Polytechnic College as processing object, the flocculation performance of PSAM and other traditional flocculants was analyzed by coagulation and agitation test. The results show that PSAM has a good flocculation performance and is superior to the conventional flocculants such as polymerization aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate and magnesium sulfate in treating domestic sewage.

The application of high voltage electric field for preservation of fruit juices has a promising scope in the food industry. The pulsed electric field (PEF) is an innovative non- thermal technique and free from bio-toxic effects. The technique has a viable solution of the problem yet faced in the food industry to prolong life and preserve and maintain quality with natural properties of the liquid food and beverages. In this study, we have treated the pineapples juice samples by different strengths of pulsed electric field such as 10, 20 and 30kV/cm for 5 minutes in each test. This study used new design of helix treatment chamber with three different lengths of 20, 30and 50cm. In these experiments, all samples were kept in same and normal condition with a temperature around 25-26 andthe humidity was between 55 and 65%. Then the observation based on chemical tests such as pH, conductivity, salinity and total dissolved solids (TDS) was recorded for all samples before and after the test. Based on results obtained by chemical parameters suggest that the injection on pulsed electric field of 30 kV/cm by the 50 cm treatment chamber has the best effect on pineapple juices characteristic as compared to the other value. The result of this experiment is encouraging and supportive of the better way for pasteurization the pineapple juices and increasing longevity of pineapple juices.

Lubrications industry is widely expand throughout the years. Well established mineral oil based promised the highest demand all over the world. But as the environmental concern is debated at most of world conferences, people are thinking to find the alternative for mineral oil replacement due to its non-biodegradable behaviour. The best suited source that having quite a par characteristic with mineral oil is vegetable oil. Vegetable oil is well known with its super bio-degradable characteristic. The source is renewable and does not require huge cost as compared to mineral and synthetic oil in term of exploration, development, production and transportation. Palm oil based is best suited among the vegetable oil series because of its stability and sources around the world. The major issue of palm oil based lubricant is low oxidative stability as the lubricant is commonly used at very high temperature and long shelf life application. Therefore some modification of molecule structure is needed by adding selected anti-oxidant at certain ratios. Tertier-butyl-hydroquinone (TBHQ) is used as anti-oxidantin this study. The results showing that a sufficient concentration of anti-oxidantprovides better solution for the low oxidative stability issues raised in palm oil based lubricants. The TBHQ also showed good characteristic in protecting two mating surfaces in wear scar analysis.

The success of 200m3 and 300m3 flotation cell in industrial application calls for matching conditioner. Experimental research in Ф6.5m conditioner is taken to select suitable impeller and rotating speed. 4PB impeller and 4HB impeller are compared in flow features and power consumption in single phase flow. The conclusion that the power consumption per cycle-volume by 4HB impeller is 80% of that by 4PB impeller is drawn. 4PB impeller and 4HB impeller are compared in suspension characteristics in double-phase flow. The conclusion that 4HB impeller can suspense the mineral by lower power consumption while 4PB impeller cannot under the same situation is drawn. Thus 4HB impeller is prior to be used in large pulp conditioner. Based on this experiment, many large pulp conditioners are successfully applied

Enlargement of textile industry in Malaysia is swiftly growing as it plays vital role in human evolution by providing cloths. Industrialization in textile fields plays main part in colouring of fabric as it gives environmental concerns associated with textile effluent. The usages of dyestuff make textile effluent difficult to biodegrade as the complexity of chemical structures of dyes. The diversity of forestry creates nature plant such as bamboo which is used as mediator in dye decolorize of textile effluent. As sustainable resolution can reduce environmental system destruction, the effectiveness and competency of bambusa heterostachya has been investigated to analyze the potential in decolorize of textile effluent. The result exhibited good dye decolourization rate of 70 - 80 % in less than 72 hours with influence studies.

This paper based on the surveys of Beijing West Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway station, Xi'an Railway Station, Zhengzhou Railway Station, Jinan Railway station and Shangqiu Railway station. Looking over the tickets of passengers and recording the time when they enter into the stations, a waiting time model is established on the basis of logarithmic normal distribution theory. The number of passengers assembling in a station is found after the logarithmic normal distribution model is used to deal with the rule of passenger arriving and the uniform moving law is applied in passenger departing.

As the key process of weaving, sizing is one of the processes which are of great costly and serious pollution in the whole cotton-textile production chain. Great efforts had been made to study new sizing to reduce costs and environment pollution. In this paper, Methyl cellulose ether (MC) and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose ether (HPMC) were prepared by the hemp core and further used as a textile sizing. The chemical structure of the hemp cellulose ether was characterized by the FTIR analysis. The paste viscosity was tested by the Viscometer. The sizing properties of hemp cellulose ether were evaluated by the weaving process. The results indicated that the wrap breakage rat, weft breakage rate and loom efficiency of MC and HPMC blended sizing was similar to those of PVA sizing. Compared to COD in the desizing wastewater of 3600 mg/L of PVA, the COD of hemp sizing was very small. It was 330 mg/L. Therefore, it is concluded that the hemp core ether is a new and environment-friendly textile sizing, which has low cost and contributes a healthier ecosystem.

Infill walls,etc. non-load-bearing walls are vulnerable to fracture when these are subjected to out-of-plane seismic loads. Studies suggest that the overall dimensions of non-load-bearing walls are the important parameters to affect its out-of-plane mechanical properties, but most of these researches are qualitative researches, do not give specific size limitations. This paper based on codes has calculated out-of-plane loads of non-load-bearing walls, then bearing capacity check formulas have been deduced when non-load-bearing walls are subjected to out-of-plane seismic loads, finally the size limitations used in the height-thickness ratio check and seismic check are obtained.The conclusions fill up gaps in research of non-load-bearing walls ,and provide reference for the design specifications of non-load-bearing walls.
