- Abstract
Citation of a scientific paper is a measure of its contribution to the advancement of science, as well as a measure of the contribution of the author to scientific development. It is important to know the genesis and internal and prior process to the publication of papers that receive a high number of citations. The aim of this study is to characterize the impact of the Dengue article six months after its electronic publication in the Lancet from a bibliometric point of view. The daily average number of citations received by this article is five so far, totaling more than a thousand citations, which makes it the most cited Cuban article of this century. - Abstract
This article discusses the change in the image of the world and the construction and evolution of Europe and the new discovered territories that took place during the 16th and 17TH centuries and left as testimony printed and handwritten important works printed and handwritten important works, with its maximum expression in the cartographic atlas. The development of cartography in the modern age allows us to show, thanks to the geographical discoveries, technical advances, inventions, etc., a more scientific picture of the world, contributing in the 16th century to the birth and rise of Nations that were gradually defining their cultural identity, all with a clear objective: understand, control and dominate the world. In addition, this image of the world that was created allows comparison and analysis with the Territories today, examining its evolution, its changes, borders, etc. All of this brings us to a conclusion: the map of the world is not static, it is in constant change. - Abstract
Among the material donated in 1903 to University of Granada Library by the son of Juan F. Riaño we can find the imprints of three finger rings, a stone seal with Arabic text and another object. The article studies the shape of the rings, dates them and reads their inscriptions. In addition, it gives a brief biography of Riaño, the illustrious scholar and politician born in Granada, and some data about F. Valera, the owner of the rings. It documents the acquisition of Valera's jewel collection by J. I. Miró, who sold it afterwards (1876) to Madrid National Archaeological Museum, where one of the rings is still kept and shown. QUANTILE regression , *OPEN innovation , *HOTELS , *COMPETITIVE advantage in business - Abstract
This paper analyses the effects of open innovation (OI), organizational strategy and the existence of a corporate risk management (CRM) strategy on competitive advantage (CA) in cost, service and product in the Portuguese hotel sector. This paper uses a survey over 251 CEOs of Portuguese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) hotels and applies two complementary statistical methods: partial least squares regression and quantile regression. It can be stated that both OI and the degree of dynamism and flexibility of the organizational structure and CRM are relevant to explain the different types of competitive advantage. However, the results show that the importance of the incidence of the different explanatory factors considered is different depending on the type of competitive advantage that we are analysing and the relevance of disaggregating those associated with AI (inbound and outbound) and organizational strategy (dynamic of the environment, internal organizational flexibility and innovative strategic position). Thus, the CRM variable is the fundamental variable in the explanation of the competitive advantage in cost, while the incidence of inbound OI is especially relevant in the CA in service and product. Within organizational strategy, the factor that most clearly affects competitive advantage is the strategic position with respect to innovation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper examines the European Union (EU) response to three conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa region and shines a spotlight on the degree of division among its member states and on the management of these divisions. It concludes that the EU's desire to be seen as an international actor varies according to the confrontation; it is stronger in the Arab-Israeli conflict, but weaker in the Sahara. Domestic protest and politicisation in the EU affect the fragmentation of positions and the frequency of obstructionist stances. The EU manages the divisions differently in each conflict, with strategies that vary according to the level of ambition or the desire to ensure the sides note the existence of a European position. The paper highlights the growing interaction between the different regional flashpoints and makes the case for a systemic and multilevel approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

207. Violencia sexual y derecho penal: sobre los problemas contemporáneos en la interpretación del tipo penal de violación sexual en el Código Penal del Perú.

- Abstract
This paper identifies the interpretative and qualification legal problems posed by the criminalisation of rape offences in Peru by examining the most contemporary case law and specialised literature. Through a teleological and systematic legal interpretation of these offences and applying a gender perspective, preliminary alternative solutions are constructed. The main legal conclusion reached is that, with the incorporation of the modality of "taking advantage of any other environment that prevents the person from giving free consent" in the offence of rape in its basic modality (article 170 of the Criminal Code), the Peruvian legal system has incorporated a model based mainly on the absence of consent for sex offences. This model, in turn, is close to the "yes means yes" approach to consent, based on a conventional, constitutional and teleological interpretation of the wording of the criminal offence. This paper also reaches other important legal conclusions about the criminal offence of rape, such as the feasibility of its coverage of cases of stealthing, the legal viability of its commission by compenetration and not only penetration, by improper omission and without requiring lewd intent in addition to regular intent, among others. Finally, considering these conclusions, articles 171, 172, 173, 174 and 175 of the Peruvian Criminal Code are systematically examined and congruent legal interpretations are proposed. One of the most relevant is the unconstitutionality of the criminal offence of rape by deception (article 175) and the rationale for its redirection to article 170, as the former could be used to argue that deception is not a suitable modality for committing rape against an adult or adolescent victim over the age of 13, preventing the adequate protection of sexual autonomy. 208. Estándares probatorios y dilemas jurídicos en la identificación de restos de personas víctimas de desaparición forzada. Una mirada desde la experiencia chilena.

- Abstract
The challenge of the search for victims of enforced disappearance usually includes the recovery of the identity of the remains that are found. This paper highlights the legal dimension of identification and its quality as a decision about the proof of a fact, which can be analyzed with the conceptual tools of the theory of legal evidence. On that basis, it analyzes the question about the applicable standard of proof considering the recent Chilean experience, which shows how positive DNA evidence has tended to consolidate as a sort of golden standard, exclusive and excluding, for the identification of human remains in the case of enforced disappearances. However, that standard of certainty will be often difficult to meet because of deterioration of DNA in the remains samples obtained, because of the scarcity of samples given the practice of massive clandestine exhumations or because of a lack of relatives' samples for comparison. The paper explores the questions that then open up, regarding both the possibility that other forensic evidence may be acceptable as sufficient and the treatment of the unidentified remains. SUPERVISED learning , *CLASSIFICATION - Abstract
The proliferation of digital documents in the internet has given rise to the search for information patterns that allow for the categorization of organizational documents to generate knowledge in a institution. One of the Artificial Intelligence techniques for this purpose is text classification, which for its application uses labels (categorized documents) with supervised (with labels) or unsupervised (without labels) training models. Both traditional models with their advantages and disadvantages have been consolidated into semi-supervised models to extract the best qualities of each one, however, the labeling process involves resources that need to be optimized to improve the classification accuracy. An analysis of the types of semi-supervised models would show the strengths of their training and how the structure of each of them affects the accuracy of their classification. The present study proposes a structure of semi-supervised model in document classification, in order to analyze the qualities of each one in their categorization process, it through a systematic literature review (SLR) that analyzes the performance of the studies to conduct a meta-analysis. Further, the study search strategy was defined by the PICOC method (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Context), supported by two research questions and delimited in a search chain that allowed the collection of 332 research studies. These papers were filtered using the PRISMA method and the determination of exclusion criteria, in total 46 papers have been selected for the present study. From this SLR, an organizational structure has been obtained for semi-supervised models and a scheme for the classification process. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of different learning types have been analyzed, evaluating their classification performance in each type of learning through a meta-analysis. This has determined that the models that present the best levels of performance are active learning model (0.88) and ensemble learning model (0.84). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SUSTAINABLE development , *ARTS management , *MUSEUMS - Abstract
Background: In the midst of a growing interest for engaging communities in funding museums ruled by the National Administration of Spain, a comparative study between their governance and financing, and the ones from the private US model, together with the Smithsonian Institution´s public museum system, provides insights to face the future of public museums´ economic sustainability. With the goal of inspiring new approaches to national museums´ management in Spain, this paper is pioneer in analyzing the funding of these cultural institutions under the perspective of the restricted or unrestricted nature of the different assets and its weight within the revenue mix. Method: This research is based on the study of both, primary sources (museums´ annual reports, its financial statements, bylaws and other rules applicable to the Spanish museum´s public policy), and secondary sources from the extensive literature about museum financial management in the US, and the few approaches to this topic in Spain. Results: The comparative analysis states, on one hand, the similarities between seemingly opposite Spanish and American museums´ schemes, and on the other hand, the deep differences within national museums, in terms of financial opportunities (those managed by the Deputy Directorate General for National Museums, and the ones with specific bylaws). This last group of museums has developed a greater revenue mix through auxiliary activities, in a partially similar way regarding American museums operations. Conclusions: This paper concludes with a proposal to address the issue of increasing private funding for Spanish national museums. It involves patronage´s composition, its funding role, the nature of critical income sources, or the use of marketing and fundraising techniques, among other aspects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CRIMINOLOGY , *EMOTIONS , *FEMINISM , *METHODOLOGY , *MEMORY loss - Abstract
This article is part of the proposal given by Rivera Beiras in this journal in 2016: the global critical criminology. A possible epistemological rupture in the discipline that implies expanding its limits of study and not committing the errors and forgetfulness of the past. On this basis, this paper aims to justify the importance of feminist methodology in the way of making and understanding this new criminological trend. A methodology, or rather, diverse feminist characteristics that, as an attempt to assert, can be considered indispensable in the ways of denouncing and making visible social harms or structural violence and making memory. Therefore, this paper will cover the historical role of women in the discipline, will address some of the proposals and contributions in defense of the satisfaction of human needs and will try to reflect empirically this position through a case study. The aim of this paper is to analyze in ethnographic terms (Rockwell 2008, 2013; Woods, 1987) certain aspects of a school experience carried out from the subject Language and Literature Practices in a second year of high school in Argentina. The main purpose of this experience was to gradually improve students' writing practices. It was a project in which students had to design an audiobook. This project presented distinctive moments: reading the genre, writing and production. Although we will mention each of these moments, in this paper, we will focus on the writing moment to corroborate the effectiveness of a method (of our own invention) called fragmented slogans and a particular way of working called collaborative writing (CD) (Álvarez & Bassa, 2013). In order to account for the proposed method and way of working, we will analyze the teaching and learning strategies and highlight certain roles established by the students and the teacher during the activity. This paper provides insight into the transnational perspectives of the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria's northeast region since 2010. It reveals that the transnational dimensions of the insurgency in terms of the porous borders, movement of persons, trafficking of arms and ammunition spread of Islamic fundamentalism, and access to funding have contributed to elongating the conflict in the northeast. The paper employs primary and secondary sources to analyze and interpret the subject matter of the paper. It utilizes the theory of transnationalism to theorize and shed light on the transnational character of the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria's northeast region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

POWER (Social sciences) , *ECONOMIC development , *INCOME inequality , *SOCIAL evolution , *FREE enterprise , *ECONOMIC liberty - Abstract
Neoliberalism is a political-economic philosophy that consists of two claims: one economic and the other political. The economic claim is: that free market laissez faire economies are the best way to organize economic activity as they generate efficient outcomes that maximize well-being. The political claim is: that free market economic arrangements promote individual liberty. This paper argues both claims are problematic. The evidence from the forty-year experiment that began in 1980 shows neo liberalism has undercut shared prosperity and unleashed illiberal forces that threaten liberty. The paper distinguishes between the first political turn which saw the establishment of neoliberal political hegemony, and the second one toward proto-fascism that we are now experiencing. The second turn is being driven by a collection of factors that have created a demand for proto-fascism and weakened the defenses against alt-right ideas. Those factors include socio-economic disembedding, institutional destruction and political disembedding, increased economic inequality that tilts political power, an alteration in attitudes to government and governance, transformation of economic identity, and a cultural transformation that celebrates sociopathic egotism. The Third Way's capture of center-left politics means liberal elites occupy the political place that should be held by true opponents of neoliberalism. Those liberal elites obstruct the politics needed to reverse the deep causes of the drift to proto-fascism. Ironically, that makes those elites a real danger. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper it has been presented the results about the study with high pressure steam schemes for the energy integration of a sugar mill with a pulp paper factory. The hypothesis for the integration is that it is possible to produce heat and electricity for both factories with the biomass of the sugar cane. This study includes the diversification of the production whit an ethanol factory for the pulp. The by bibliography, energy, material and cost balances are the main subjects for the best alternative of integration with high pressure schemes. The scheme with 61 ata and 440 °C was the best technically but not in the economic sense. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper is carry out a study about the quality of paper board 127 g/cm², which is produced from a mix of paper pulp and bagasse pulp, the latter boiled at a high pressure, approximately at 14 kgf/cm², and using as solvent 1.5-2.5 % of soda y 50% of ethanol. To evaluate the property CMT paper sheets were made in a laboratory. The CMT values were extrapolated at industrial level using the correlations obtained between the two levels of study. These correlations were determined from experimental study. In this work was shown that to use high pressure during the boiling in the organosolv pulping are obtained a paper board of a better quality than that of the paper obtained in the process where normal pressure is used. SCIENCE periodical publishing , *PERIODICAL publishing , *SCIENTIFIC knowledge , *TECHNICAL writing , *SCIENCE publishing , *JOURNALISTIC editing - Abstract
Publication of papers in refereed journals is an essential activity for the diffusion and advancement of scientific and technological knowledge and allows a direct evaluation of the productivity of research groups. In this work, some guidelines and tips are given to write up each section of a scientific paper with the aim of increasing its probability of acceptance when reviewed by referees and editors. The strategy in which the writing starts at the inner sections of the paper [Methodology, (Appendices), Results, Discussion, Conclusions] and follows at the outer sections [Introduction, Title, Abstract, References, Acknowledgments] is highly recommended. A description is given of the stages of the publication process (final preparation, submission to a journal, reviewing, and editorial production) and a compilation is made of the quality criteria that referees and a journal editor take into account to review a paper. ENERGY consumption of paper mills , *STEAM-turbines , *ENERGY consumption , *PAPER mills , *PAPER mills & the environment , *ELECTRIC generators - Abstract
An energy study was performed at Pulpa Cuba Paper Mill, located in Sancti Spiritus, where an energy management system was applied according to NC: ISO 50001, in order to assess the energy system by applying energy management systems for energy and water reduction in the paper mill, in which the current steam generation, distribution and consumption system is diagnosed. The proposal of a modified energy scheme with 1 MW Backpressure Steam Turbine Generator and rehabilitation of the original boiler or installing a lower capacity boiler contributes to save financial resources by the concept of water, fuel and electricity. The implementation of four projects will save 3,095,574 CUC / y and an average payback period of about 1 year is expected. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The plots of Billy Budd and The Bonfire of the Vanities are organized entirely around a lawsuit. In The Pickwick Papers the trial is only a part, though an important one, of a series of related adventures in which the main characters of the novel participate. In the three novels there is a trial in which the accused is found guilty, although he is actually innocent. In The Posthumous Papers of the Club Pickwick, the author's main purpose is to present the operation of the legal system, in which the modus operandi of unscrupulous lawyers, who rely only on cheating and deceiving methods, is at the beginning of and determines the outcome of the lawsuit. In Billy Budd, an innocent is sentenced to death in order to preserve a supposed higher interest: the common good. In The Bonfire of the Vanities, political factors, personal interests, resentments and other worldly elements determine the outcome of the trial. In the three cases, the watchmaking mechanism that a lawsuit appears to be is completely overcome by factors outside it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We present an analytical reflection on our experience as adscriptas a la investigación, a term used in Spanish to describe the role of those who volunteer as students to be in an apprenticeship relationship with experienced professors-researchers at our public university (School of Humanities) in the metropolitan area sorrounding the city of Buenos Aires. We have analyzed and written our piece in two voices, as we are both apprentices. Methodologically, we start from our work logs, audio recordings and photographs to make an analytical description of the assignment, which is divided into three sections: the place of others in the construction of knowledge, word in dispersion and resistance, and spaces and bodies that communicate in themselves. Our reflection accounts for the learning and transformation opportunities generated from the implementation of a new pedagogical practice for us. Thus, we observe that a space was created in connection with others that favored parity, horizontal communication, and, together with it, the collective construction of new knowledge based on local epistemologies. The overall objective of this work was to find a new value to the leaves of agaváceas, waste of agribusiness. Four species of agaves were studied in three states of the Mexican Republic: Agave angustifolia (Oacaxa), Agave tequilana (Jalisco), Agave salmiana and Agave lechuguilla (Hidalgo). After a classification taxonomy, phenology, ecological and ethnobotanical (morphology), various physical analysis (moisture, grinding, screening, grading and leaf characteristics, SEM) and chemical (fat and oils, ash, proteins, TGA and DTGA and FTIR were subjected). The species of A. angustifolia and A. tequilana are those with an optimum size of fiber for papermaking. It also corresponds to the highest percentages of cellulose (44.3% and 36.8%) by DTGA. The proximate analysis, it appears that the two species defined as obtaining better for pulp, significant differences have small content of fat, protein, water solubilizable hot material (AT) and moderately alkaline and/or alcoholic solution. As part of a larger investigation, which seeks to link the cultural change in Chile in the last 40 years with the evolution of retail advertising; in which an exploratory analysis of a sample of graphic pieces from 1997 took place. The aim is to characterize the advertising time using a quantitative description of the characters present in the advertisements and a qualitative analysis of linguistic messages and deviant cases. Although Chile was living important economic and socio-cultural changes, which promoted an explosive development of consumption, the advertising analyzed presents a simple and denotative style, where texts and associated promotion offers low prices and a variety of predominate products. Minority representation of characters tends to display passive attitudes, especially women. However, it also displays an emerging trend toward individuation of the female subject. The quality of dietary fat critically influences health. In this consensus document the scientific evidence relating effects of dietary fat quantity and quality on cardiovascular risk is reviewed and recommendations for the Spanish adult population are issued. As a novelty in nutrition guidelines, emphasis is made more on parent foods than on fatty acids per se. In summary, replacing saturated fatty acids (SFA) for monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) reduces cardiovascular risk. Recent data suggest that SFA proper may be harmful or not depending on the parent food, a reason why an intake threshold is not established, but consumption of foods containing excess SFA, such as butter, some processed meats, and commercial confectionery and fried foods is discouraged. The established threshold of <1 % of energy intake as trans FA, well known to be harmful for cardiovascular risk, is fulfilled in Spain due in part to its present low levels in margarines. MUFA are beneficial or neutral for cardiovascular risk depending on their dietary sources (virgin olive oil versus other fats), and no intake limitations are established. n-6 PUFA are cardioprotective and recommended intakes (5-10 % of energy) are not always fulfilled in the Spanish population, thus increased consumption of their vegetable food sources (seeds, derived oils, and margarines) is encouraged. Marine n-3 PUFA are also cardioprotective and the recommendation stands to eat fatty fish ≥2 servings/weeks to reach intake levels of at least 250 mg/day. Increasing evidence suggests that alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), the vegetable n-3 PUFA, is also cardioprotective, but the parent foods (walnuts, soy products, green-leaf vegetables) may provide benefits beyond ALA itself. Finally, low-fat (high carbohydrate, particularly when having a high glycemic index) diets appear to lack cardiovascular preventive effects, while high-fat, high-vegetable fat dietary patterns such as the Mediterranean diet, are protective, a reason why no upper limit on fat intake is established for the Spanish population. This position statement targets dietitians, nutritionists and other health professionals involved in dietary counsel so they can deliver it rightly and according to the last scientific evidence. HEARING disorders , *INDUSTRIAL noise , *ORGANIC solvents , *PAPER industry workers , *PAPER mills , *INDUSTRIAL hygiene - Abstract
To correlate headng impairment and simultaneous occupational exposure to noise and organic solvents, it was made a cross-sectional research in 140 workers from a paper factory's with more than five years in same factory job. Workers were distributed in three groups as follows: unexposed (n=43), exposed to noise (n=50) and exposed to noise and organic solvents (n=47). Medical examination included audiometry to look for hearing impairment. The risk of hypoacusia was greater in exposed workers than in unexposed ones. Exposure to noise longer than five years was related to Odds Ratio (OR)=11,85 (1,46-66.57) and a hearing impairment prevalence of 22%. Simultaneous occupational exposure to noise and solvents produced OR=14.4 (1.78-77.3) and 25.53% hypoacusia prevalence. For men exposed to noise and solvents, the risk of hearing impairment was 1,22 times greater than for workers exposed to noise only [OR=1.22 (0.43-3.43)]. It was determined that workers simultaneously exposed to noise and solvents had not a greater risk to suffer hearing impairment than those exposed only to noise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article presents the results of the carried out experimental investigation on the hydrotransport of mixtures in open channels. The author investigated non settling mixtures composed of pulp of paper and water in an open channel of circular cross section. The object of the investigation was to determine the energy losses due to the flow of water and pulp of paper and to propose a methodology for the design of open channels for mixtures. For the experimental development an assembly of laboratory was built in which a circular channel with variable slope was adapted. As a result it was possible to obtain new equations for the coefficient of friction of Darcy-Weisbach and the coefficient of friction of Manning, which relate these coefficients with the properties of the water, those of the mixture and the slope of the channel. With the equations obtained in the investigation the author it proposed a new methodology for the design of channels that they transport mixtures of water and paper pulp. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The evolving media ecosystem underscores the pressing need for media literacy within the population. Numerous academic research initiatives typically focus on competencies such as mobile device management and the identification of fake news on social networks, among others. This paper seeks to uncover how academic research tackles advertising literacy, a facet of media literacy that promotes the development of critical consumers. Advertising literacy is increasingly recognised as a crucial competency in today's world, given the ubiquity of advertising messages and their potential to influence purchasing decisions, worldviews, and cultural perceptions. A systematic review was conducted, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, of articles on the topic published in Social Science academic journals indexed in Scopus. Significant findings suggest that advertising literacy has been a subject of analysis for over three decades, and that journals publishing on this topic, along with the affiliations of authors, are predominantly based in Europe and the United States. Additionally, it was observed that applied research, especially surveys and experiments, has superseded theoretical research in the analysis of this subject. The studies practical implications, alongside their theoretical contributions, are noteworthy. The conclusion drawn suggests that advertising literacy is a research area with substantial growth potential, warranting the attention of the educational and media industries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Online educommunication and empowerment are crucial dimensions in awareness, literacy and change processes, and their articulation may bring benefits to cardiovascular health, given that cardiovascular diseases are the deadliest in the world, including in Portugal. This paper aims to explore the relationship between online educommunication and empowerment in cardiovascular health, using Lisbon citizens as a case. The theoretical framework is composed by the interactivity and empowerment model, the health belief model and the uses and gratifications theory. The questionnaire survey was applied to a gender and age quota sample (N=400). The questionnaire includes thematic dimensions, such as online informative practices on cardiovascular health, the eHEALS scale, and the importance and effectiveness of the educommunicative message on cardiovascular health features. Results show that the educommunicative message has characteristics at the level of purpose, content, type, format, emotions, and logic, which enhance it the most. This indicates that exposure to messages with these characteristics may instigate empowerment and behavior change. Respondents self-rated with the most positive levels on the eHEALS scale, showing empowerment at the eHealth level, with age rather than gender differences. There is evidence that eHealth skills and having cardiovascular disease influence information seeking and empowerment. The main contribution lies in identifying characteristics of the cardiovascular health educommunication message that can optimize recipient's empowerment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This paper examines and discusses potential factors that may trigger authenticity in animated immersive environments. Our discussion draws upon three forms of authenticity, categorized as objective, constructive or symbolic, and existential authenticity. To explore these ideas, we present three case studies drawn from the authors' own research deploying immersive media in different contexts (educational, historical, and political). The aim is to interrogate how authenticity is conceived and constructed on three levels -- authenticity of narrative, authenticity of environment, and authenticity of action -- during the design and production process. We start by defining the concept of authenticity with reference to previous work within the fields of journalism and tourism, and then explore its specification in animated virtual reality through the case study discussion. One important conclusion from our analysis is that authenticity markers are needed to enable users to verify the information presented and trust the educational content. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Human breastfeeding presents characteristics of socioscientific problems, identifying in it different controversies, among which is the one related to the use of breast milk or formula milk. This paper analyzes the influence of an instructional module, which combines three teaching strategies: label analysis, roleplaying and controversy mapping, on the reasoning of 62 preservice elementary teachers on this controversy. For this purpose, a pretest and posttest task were used asking for their reasoned position on which breastfeeding model is better: with breast milk or formula milk. The instructional module has influenced the number of reasons and the types of reasoning made by the participants, but not their positions with respect to the controversy, which were clearly in favor of breast milk. Likewise, a significant increase is found in the number of reasons showing adequate scientific knowledge. Finally, some teaching and other implications for further research are raised. This article presents a four-year longitudinal study analysing what teachers who participate in a non-formal scientific activity think they will learn during the activity. Unlike previous studies, this paper is focused on a long-term activity. The answers given by the teachers to an open-ended question were subjected to an interpretative-descriptive analysis which allowed the emergence of five main categories of response and five teacher profiles. These categories and profiles allowed the characterization and interpretation of teachers' responses. It is concluded that the teachers perceive the activity as a multidisciplinary training opportunity with which to expand and diversify their formation and, especially, to acquire new teaching learning strategies that can be transferred to their classrooms. - Abstract
Agricultural cooperatives in Catalonia are characterised by their extraordinary longevity, with more than a quarter of them having reached a century of survival and operation (Socioeconòmic Review of the "Federació de Cooperatives Agràries de Catalunya", FCAC, 2022, 2021 and 2020). Despite this durability, these organisations have been compelled to face important changes (evolution of the agricultural sector, consumer tastes' changes, government requirements, mechanisation and modernisation of the agricultural sector), as well as to respond to structural difficulties such as farm dimensions, ageing and generational renewal, among others. As a fundamental structure of the Social Economy, co-operatives carry out their activities under the premises of co-operative values and principles, becoming essential actors in the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (Villaescusa, 2019) approved within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015. Referring to agri-food cooperatives, Mozas and Bernal (2020) highlight them as entities that constitute the backbone of the Social Economy, representing one of the basic instruments of rural development (Gallego, 2007). The proposal we make in this paper is as follows: agricultural cooperatives' demonstrate a longevity that requires a detailed analysis in order to determine the elements that contribute to it and that, in a tacit way, contribute to the fulfilment of some of the SDGs (4, 9, 12, 16 and 17). To achieve these research objectives, we use Bourdieu's (1986) Theory of Capital. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Introduction: The use of active learning methodologies, such as the Flipped Classroom, is being applied more and more frequently in various areas of knowledge, obtaining good results. In the teaching of Social Sciences, these methodologies can help to combat the demotivation sometimes experienced by students. This paper presents and analyzes a didactic intervention for the implementation of the Flipped Classroom in Primary Education, to teach Social Sciences. Method: The didactic intervention designed has consisted of the creation of seven videos to develop the didactic unit “Revolution and restoration”” to develop this subject through the Flipped Classroom methodology. The intervention was carried out on a sample of 76 students, divided into three groups/classes. To analyse the results of the intervention, academic results, participation in the activities and the students’ evaluation of the intervention were taken into account. Results: The results obtained show an improvement in the academic performance of the students, who obtain an average of 1 point in their classifications, compared to the didactic units in which the methodology is not applied. It also shows an increase in motivation and a greater and better use of ICT tools. Conclusions: The analysis carried out allows us to conclude that the application of this methodology generates an impact of improved academic results, and in turn, encourages motivation and creativity in the students participating in the intervention, turning the learning of this subject into a more dynamic and motivating process. - Abstract
Ecuador is a small Andean country located in the western hemisphere of South America. The country has 361;747hm3 annual superficial water resources; As a result, Ecuador, in the last fifteen years (2005 to 2020), has been rapidly developing hydropower projects to triple the production in this renewable source. There were eight new hydroelectric plants constructed in Ecuador among 2007 and 2015 invested close to USD 6 billion the projects. Increased the energy response with renewables; for example, in 1985, the country produced 4 TWh, in 2005-registered 7 TWh, and to 2020, 24 TWh. According to the Electricity Corporation of Ecuador in 2020 reported that generated around 80% of all electricity through hydropower; thus, the article aims to critically analyze the development of hydropower in Ecuador in recent years and establish general energy projections to 2030 to expand the fields of knowledge and perspectives. The paper methodology is quantitative, according to scientific editorial sources, articles, investigative documents, and collects data from government agencies that regulate energy development in Ecuador. It is conclusive between a projection's calculation, Ecuador will need for the year 2030 around 43 TWh, 47 TWh, or 52 TWh to supply the energy grid, according to the scenarios proposed (low, medium, high). Although hydropower will be essential to contribute to this requirement, the country has a barrier because hydropower is very sensitive to external factors of diverse nature, generating an uncertainly future directly associated with climatic effects. OBESITY , *SLEEP hygiene , *REGULATION of body weight , *MEDICAL communication , *OVERWEIGHT persons , *SLEEP quality , *COGNITION - Abstract
Healthy behaviors have traditionally been promoted through persuasive messages that provide information about figures or arguments and are designed with an openly persuasive objective. However, other strategies have recently been established, such as the use of narrative messages and mixed formats (which combine information and tell a story). The evidence is not conclusive about the efficacy of these three modalities of persuasion (informational, narrative, and mixed) nor about the mechanisms responsible. Methodology: Two experiments were carried out that compared the effects of the three modalities of persuasive messages mentioned and that were designed to promote sleep hygiene as a factor in controlling body weight. In addition, the role of involvement with the theme of the message and the need for cognition were considered as possible moderator variables. Results: It was observed that the informational message exerted significant indirect effects on the perceived effectiveness of the message, beliefs, and behavioral intention through the self-reference mechanism. In contrast, the narrative and mixed messages owed their persuasive effectiveness to emotional activation, narrative transport, and identification with the protagonist. Conclusions: This paper advances knowledge about persuasion and the most effective strategies to design campaigns to control body weight through the promotion of sleep hygiene. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Objectives: This paper addresses the role of the hydrographic confederations in intercommunity basins in the context of the transformation of Spanish water policy since the implementation of the Water Framework Directive. To do so, we will analyse how such confederations, developing the function of basin organisation, have had to lead a complex governance system in which a greater number of institutional and noninstitutional actors with dissonant perceptions and discourses on the management of this common good have been integrated. Methodology: It is based on the fieldwork of a previous research project, consisting basically of in-depth interviews, to which a supplementary number have been added expressly for the preparation of this work. The study is also based on the analysis of official documentation and relevant bibliography. Results: The governance system of Spanish water policy has become more complex as a result of the application of the aforementioned directive, justifying, in our opinion, the expression «wicked problem» to refer to it. Conclusions: In this context, the confederations have lost capacity, not so much as a direct consequence of the entry into force of the European regulations, but rather as a result of certain decisions taken by the central administration at the same time as the directive was implemented. Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) as a chronic, irreversible complication and having a cardinal symptom that predominates such as pain contributes to causing changes and alterations in the emotional sphere and therefore in the mental health of the patient. The findings in relation to the perception of patients suffering from DPN reported that pain relief is associated with good levels of quality of life, which reduces stress, depression, insomnia and other factors that can threaten mental health. This paper has two fundamental purposes, the first one is to determine the correlation that exists between the prevalence of DPN and the patients who present psychological disorders. This problem is treated with the help of contingency tables and it is statistically processed with Pearson's chi-square coefficient. Secondly, the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) technique is applied to quantitatively evaluate, through the criteria of 3 experts, the possible strategies to be followed by patients. This investigation is centered on two objectives: one is to determine whether in Tomelloso, which from 1950 onwards was characterised as being a city linked to literature, this activity is still relevant in the distribution of its spare time. The second objective is to verify whether this city is still a place from which new writers regularly emerge. In addition, this paper aims to provide a sociological explanation of this social phenomenon. Methodological triangulation was used, with qualitative exploratory interviews, surveys, and the management of the bibliography and documentary archives. It is confirmed that there is still a major link to literature in Tomelloso and that writers are still continuously emerging. The phenomenon is explained by relating it to the theories of symbolic interactionism and Robert K. Merton's concept of self-fulfilling prophecies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
