Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) data is inherently characterized by speckle noise, which significantly deteriorates certain aspects of the quality of the PolSAR data processing, including the polarimetric decomposition and target interpretation. With the rapid increase in PolSAR resolution, SAR images in complex natural and artificial scenes exhibit non-homogeneous characteristics, which creates an urgent demand for high-resolution PolSAR filters. To address these issues, a new adaptive PolSAR filter based on joint similarity measure criterion (JSMC) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a scale-adaptive filtering window is established in order to preserve the texture structure based on a multi-directional ratio edge detector. Secondly, the JSMC is proposed in order to accurately select homogeneous pixels; it describes pixel similarity based on both space distance and polarimetric distance. Thirdly, the homogeneous pixels are filtered based on statistical averaging. Finally, the airborne and spaceborne real data experiment results validate the effectiveness of our proposed method. Compared with other filters, the filter proposed in this paper provides a better outcome for PolSAR data in speckle suppression, edge texture, and the preservation of polarimetric properties. With the number of new satellites increasing dramatically, comprehensive space surveillance is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, high-resolution inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of satellites can provide an in-situ assessment of the satellites. This paper demonstrates that pseudo-noise signals can also be used for satellite imaging, in addition to classical linear frequency-modulated chirp signals. Pseudo-noise transmission signals offer the advantage of very low cross-correlation values. This, for instance, enables the possibility of a system with multiple channels transmitting instantaneously. Furthermore, it can significantly reduce signal interference with other systems operating in the same frequency spectrum, which is of particular interest for high-bandwidth, high-power systems such as satellite imaging radars. A new routine has been introduced to generate a wideband pseudo-noise signal with a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) similar to that of a chirp signal. This is essential for applications where the transmit signal power budget is sharply limited by the high-power amplifier. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a high-resolution imaging sensor commonly mounted on platforms such as airplanes and satellites for widespread use. In complex electromagnetic environments, radio frequency interference (RFI) severely degrades the quality of SAR images due to its widely varying bandwidth and numerous unknown emission sources. Although traditional deep learning-based methods have achieved remarkable results by directly processing SAR images as visual ones, there is still considerable room for improvement in their performance due to the wide coverage and high intensity of RFI. To address these issues, this paper proposes the fusion of segmentation and inpainting networks (FuSINet) to suppress SAR RFI in the time-frequency domain. Firstly, to weaken the dominance of RFI in SAR images caused by high-intensity interference, a simple CCN-based network is employed to learn and segment the RFI. This results in the removal of most of the original interference, leaving blanks that allow the targets to regain dominance in the overall image. Secondly, considering the wide coverage characteristic of RFI, a U-former network with global information capture capabilities is utilized to learn the content covered by the interference and fill in the blanks created by the segmentation network. Compared to the traditional Transformer, this paper enhances its global information capture capabilities through shift-windows and down-sampling layers. Finally, the segmentation and inpainting networks are fused together through a weighted parameter for joint training. This not only accelerates the learning speed but also enables better coordination between the two networks, leading to improved RFI suppression performance. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the substantial performance enhancement of the proposed FuSINet. Compared to the PISNet+, the proposed attention mechanism achieves a 2.49 dB improvement in peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). Circular synthetic aperture radar (CSAR) possesses the capability of multi-angle observation, breaking through the geometric observation constraints of traditional strip SAR and holding the potential for three-dimensional imaging. Its sub-wavelength level of planar resolution, resulting from a long synthetic aperture, makes CSAR highly valuable in the field of high-precision mapping. However, the motion geometry of CSAR is more intricate compared to traditional strip SAR, demanding high precision from navigation systems. The accumulation of errors over the long synthetic aperture time cannot be overlooked. CSAR exhibits significant coupling between the range and azimuth directions, making traditional motion compensation methods based on linear SAR unsuitable for direct application in CSAR. The dynamic nature of flight, with its continuous changes in attitude, introduces a significant deformation error between the non-rigidly connected Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and the Global Positioning System (GPS). This deformation error makes it difficult to accurately obtain radar position information, resulting in imaging defocus. The research in this article uncovers a correlation between the deformation error and radial acceleration. Leveraging this insight, we propose utilizing radial acceleration to estimate residual motion errors. This paper delves into the analysis of Position and Orientation System (POS) errors, presenting a novel high-resolution CSAR motion compensation method based on airborne platform acceleration information. Once the system deformation parameters are calibrated using point targets, the deformation error can be directly calculated and compensated based on the acceleration information, ultimately resulting in the generation of a high-resolution image. In this paper, the effectiveness of the method is verified with airborne flight test data. This method can compensate for the deformation error and effectively improve the peak sidelobe ratio and integral sidelobe ratio of the target, thus improving image quality. Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and tomographic SAR measurement techniques are commonly used for the three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of complex areas, while the effectiveness of these methods relies on the interferometric coherence among SAR images with minimal angular disparities. Radargrammetry exploits stereo image matching to determine the spatial coordinates of corresponding points in two SAR images and acquire their 3D properties. The performance of the image matching process directly impacts the quality of the resulting digital surface model (DSM). However, the presence of speckle noise, along with dissimilar geometric and radiometric distortions, poses considerable challenges in achieving accurate stereo SAR image matching. To address these aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes a radargrammetric method based on the composite registration of multi-aspect SAR images. The proposed method combines coarse registration using scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) with precise registration using normalized cross-correlation (NCC) to achieve accurate registration between multi-aspect SAR images with large disparities. Furthermore, the multi-aspect 3D point clouds are merged using the proposed radargrammetric 3D imaging method, resulting in the 3D imaging of target scenes based on multi-aspect SAR images. For validation purposes, this paper presents a comprehensive 3D reconstruction of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) using Ka-band airborne SAR images. It does not necessitate prior knowledge of the target and is applicable to the detailed 3D imaging of large-scale areas with complex structures. This paper investigates a real-time process generator of wideband signals, which calculates waveforms in a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) using the high-level synthesis (HLS) method. To obtain high-resolution and wide-swath images, the generator must produce multiple modes of large time-bandwidth product (TBP) linear frequency modulation (LFM) signals. However, the conventional storage method is unrealistic as it requires huge storage resources to save pre-computed waveforms. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel processing approach that calculates waveforms in real-time based simply on parameters such as the sampling frequency, bandwidth, and time width. Additionally, this paper implements predistortion through the polynomial curve to approximate phase errors of the system. The parallelizing process in the FPGA is necessary to satisfy the high-speed requirement of a digital-to-analog converter (DAC); however, repeatedly multiplexing real-time calculation consumes extensive logic and DSP resources, potentially exceeding FPGA limitations. To address this, this paper proposes a piecewise linear algorithm to conserve resources, which processes the polynomial only once, acquires the difference in two adjacent values through the register and pipeline, and then adds this increment to facilitate parallel computations. The airborne and satellite-based synthetic aperture radar enables the acquisition of high-resolution SAR oceanographic images in which even the outlines of ships can be identified. The detection of ship targets from SAR images has a wide range of applications. Due to the density of ships in SAR images, the extreme imbalance between foreground and background clutter, and the diversity of target sizes, achieving lightweight and highly accurate multi-scale ship target detection remains a great challenge. To this end, this paper proposed an attention mechanism for multi-scale receptive fields convolution block (AMMRF). AMMRF not only makes full use of the location information of the feature map to accurately capture the regions in the feature map that are useful for detection results, but also effectively captures the relationship between the feature map channels, so as to better learn the relationship between the ship and the background. Based on this, a new YOLOv7-based ship target detection method, You Only Look Once SAR Ship Identification (YOLO-SARSI), was proposed, which acquires the abstract semantic information extracted from the high-level convolution while retaining the detailed semantic information extracted from the low-level convolution. Compared to the deep learning detection methods proposed by previous authors, our method is more lightweight, only 18.43 M. We examined the effectiveness of our method on two SAR image public datasets: the High-Resolution SAR Images Dataset (HRSID) and the Large-Scale SAR Ship Detection Dataset-v1.0 (LS-SSDD-V1.0). The results show that the average accuracy ( A P 50 ) of the detection method YOLO-SARSI proposed in this paper on the HRSID and LS-SSDD-V1.0 datasets is 2.6% and 3.9% higher than that of YOLOv7, respectively. Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) processing techniques have been widely used to derive surface deformation or retrieve terrain elevation. Over the development of the past few decades, most research has mainly focused on its application, new techniques for improved accuracy, or the investigation of a particular error source and its correction method. Therefore, a thorough discussion about each error source and its influence on InSAR-derived products is rarely addressed. Additionally, InSAR is a challenging topic for beginners to learn due to the intricate mathematics and the necessary signal processing knowledge required to grasp the core concepts. This results in the fact that existing papers about InSAR are easy to understand for those with a technical background but difficult for those without. To cope with the two issues, this paper aims to provide an organized, comprehensive, and easily understandable review of the InSAR error budget. In order to assist readers of various backgrounds in comprehending the concepts, we describe the error sources in plain language, use the most fundamental math, offer clear examples, and exhibit numerical and visual comparisons. In this paper, InSAR-related errors are categorized as intrinsic height errors or location-induced errors. Intrinsic height errors are further divided into two subcategories (i.e., systematic and random error). These errors can result in an incorrect number of phase fringes and introduce unwanted phase noise into the output interferograms, respectively. Location-induced errors are the projection errors caused by the slant-ranging attribute of the SAR systems and include foreshortening, layover, and shadow effects. The main focus of this work is on systematic and random error, as well as their effects on InSAR-derived topographic and deformation products. Furthermore, because the effects of systematic and random errors are greatly dependent on radar wavelengths, different bands are utilized for comparison, including L-band, S-band, C-band, and X-band scenarios. As examples, we used the parameters of the upcoming NISAR operation to represent L-band and S-band, ERS-1 and Sentinel-1 to represent C-band, and TerraSAR-X to represent X-band. This paper seeks to bridge this knowledge gap by presenting an approachable exploration of InSAR error sources and their implications. This robust and accessible analysis of the InSAR error budget is especially pertinent as more SAR data products are made available (e.g., NISAR, ICEYE, Capella, Umbra, etc.) and the SAR user-base continues to expand. The UAV-borne video SAR (ViSAR) imaging system requires miniaturization, low power consumption, high frame rates, and high-resolution real-time imaging. In order to satisfy the requirements of real-time imaging processing for the UAV-borne ViSAR under limited memory and parallel computing resources, this paper proposes a method of embedded GPU-based real-time imaging processing for the UAV-borne ViSAR. Based on a parallel programming model of the compute unified device architecture (CUDA), this paper designed a parallel computing method for range-Doppler (RD) and map drift (MD) algorithms. By utilizing the advantages of the embedded GPU characterized with parallel computing, we improved the processing speed of real-time ViSAR imaging. This paper also adopted a unified memory management method, which greatly reduces data replication and communication latency between the CPU and the GPU. The data processing of 2048 × 2048 points took only 1.215 s on the Jetson AGX Orin platform to form a nine-consecutive-frame image with a resolution of 0.15 m, with each frame taking only 0.135 s, enabling real-time imaging at a high frame rate of 5 Hz. In actual testing, continuous mapping can be achieved without losing the scenes, intuitively obtaining the dynamic observation effects of the area. The processing results of the measured data have verified the reliability and effectiveness of the proposed scheme, satisfying the processing requirements for real-time ViSAR imaging. For synthetic aperture microwave radiometers, the problem of Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) is becoming more and more serious, which affects both the scientific retrieval of remote sensing data and the imaging quality of brightness temperature (BT) images. In the visibility data domain, the array factor synthesis algorithm is commonly employed to mitigate RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. In the BT image domain, the CLEAN algorithm is typical applied to mitigate RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. However, the array factor synthesis algorithm can result in anomalous BT points near the "zero trap" region, and the CLEAN algorithm will miss some BT points below a certain threshold. In this paper, a Bi-domain combined mitigation algorithm is proposed to mitigate RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. Following initial mitigation in the visibility data domain, dual thresholds are applied to normalize anomalous BT points near the "zero trap" region, thereby enhancing imaging quality. The effectiveness of the Bi-domain combined mitigation algorithm is verified by using both measured data from SMOS L1A and simulated data. The experimental results demonstrate that the Bi-domain combined mitigation algorithm is superior to the array factor synthesis algorithm and the CLEAN algorithm in mitigating RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. The significant differences in data domains between SAR images and the expensive and time-consuming process of data labeling pose significant challenges to terrain classification. Current terrain classification methodologies face challenges in addressing domain disparities and detecting uncommon terrain effectively. Based on Style Transformation and Domain Metrics (STDMs), we propose an unsupervised domain adaptive framework named STDM-UDA for terrain classification in this paper, which consists of two steps: image style transfer and domain adaptive segmentation. As a first step, image style transfer is performed within the image space to mitigate the differences in low-level features between SAR image domains. Subsequently, leveraging this process, the segmentation network extracts image features, employing domain metrics and adversarial training to enhance alignment between domain gaps in the semantic feature space. Finally, experiments conducted on several pairs of SAR images, each exhibiting varying degrees of differences in key imaging parameters such as source, resolution, band, and polarization, demonstrate the robustness of the proposed method. It achieves remarkably competitive classification accuracy, particularly for unlabeled, high-resolution broad scenes, effectively overcoming the domain gaps introduced by the diverse imaging parameters under studies. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) change detection provides a powerful tool for continuous, reliable, and objective observation of the Earth, supporting a wide range of applications that require regular monitoring and assessment of changes in the natural and built environment. In this paper, we introduce a novel SAR image change detection method based on principal component analysis and two-level clustering. First, two difference images of the log-ratio and mean-ratio operators are computed, then the principal component analysis fusion model is used to fuse the two difference images, and a new difference image is generated. To incorporate contextual information during the feature extraction phase, Gabor wavelets are used to obtain the representation of the difference image across multiple scales and orientations. The maximum magnitude across all orientations at each scale is then concatenated to form the Gabor feature vector. Following this, a cascading clustering algorithm is developed within this discriminative feature space by merging the first-level fuzzy c-means clustering with the second-level neighbor rule. Ultimately, the two-level combination of the changed and unchanged results produces the final change map. Synthetic aperture radar tomography (TomoSAR) is an extension of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging. It introduces the synthetic aperture principle into the elevation direction to achieve three-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction of the observed target. Compressive sensing (CS) is a favorable technology for sparse elevation recovery. However, for the non-sparse elevation distribution of the forested areas, if CS is selected to reconstruct it, it is necessary to utilize some orthogonal bases to first represent the elevation reflectivity sparsely. The iterative adaptive approach (IAA) is a non-parametric algorithm that enables super-resolution reconstruction with minimal snapshots, eliminates the need for hyperparameter optimization, and requires fewer iterations. This paper introduces IAA to tomographicinversion of the forested areas and proposes a novel multi-polarimetric-channel joint 3-D imaging method. The proposed method relies on the characteristics of the consistent support of the elevation distribution of different polarimetric channels and uses the L 2 -norm to constrain the IAA-based 3-D reconstruction of each polarimetric channel. Compared with typical spectral estimation (SE)-based algorithms, the proposed method suppresses the elevation sidelobes and ambiguity and, hence, improves the quality of the recovered 3-D image. Compared with the wavelet-based CS algorithm, it reduces computational cost and avoids the influence of orthogonal basis selection. In addition, in comparison to the IAA, it demonstrates greater accuracy in identifying the support of the elevation distribution in forested areas. The imaging of high-speed high-squint synthetic aperture radar (HSHS-SAR), which is mounted on maneuvering platforms with curved trajectory, is a challenging task due to the existence of 3-D acceleration and the azimuth spatial variability of range migration and Doppler parameters. Although existing imaging algorithms based on linear range walk correction (LRWC) and nonlinear chirp scaling (NCS) can reduce the range–azimuth coupling of the frequency spectrum (FS) and the spatial variability of the Doppler parameter to some extent, they become invalid as the squint angle, speed, and resolution increase. Additionally, most of them ignore the effect of acceleration phase calibration (APC) on NCS, which should not be neglected as resolution increases. For these issues, a modified frequency nonlinear chirp scaling (MFNCS) algorithm is proposed in this paper. The proposed MFNCS algorithm mainly includes the following aspects. First, a more accurate approximation of range model (MAARM) is established to improve the accuracy of the instantaneous slant range history. Second, a preprocessing of the proposed algorithm based on the first range compression, LRWC, and a spatial-invariant APC (SIVAPC) is implemented to eliminate most of the effects of high-squint angle and 3-D acceleration on the FS. Third, a spatial-variant APC (SVAPC) is performed to remove azimuth spatial variability introduced by 3-D acceleration, and the range focusing is accomplished by the bulk range cell migration correction (BRCMC) and extended secondary range compression (ESRC). Fourth, the azimuth-dependent characteristics evaluation based on LRWC, SIVAPC, and SVAPC is completed to derive the MFNCS algorithm with fifth-order chirp scaling function for azimuth compression. Consequently, the final image is focused on the range time and azimuth frequency domain. The experimental simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. With a curved trajectory, HSHS-SAR imaging is carried out at a 50° geometric squint angle and 500 m × 500 m imaging width. The integrated sidelobe ratio and peak sidelobe ratio of the point targets at the scenario edges approach the theoretical values, and the range-azimuth resolution is 1.5 m × 3.0 m. As the demand for precise navigation of aircraft increases in modern society, researching high-precision, high-autonomy navigation systems is both theoretically valuable and practically significant. Because the inertial navigation system (INS) has systematic and random errors, its output information diverges. Therefore, it is necessary to combine them with other navigation systems for real-time compensation and correction of these errors. The SAR matching positioning and navigation system uses synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image matching for platform positioning and compensates for the drift caused by errors in the inertial measurement unit (IMU). Images obtained by SAR are matched with digital landmark data, and the platform's position is calculated based on the SAR imaging geometry. However, SAR matching positioning faces challenges due to seasonal variations in SAR images, the need for typical landmarks for matching, and the lack of elevation information in two-dimensional SAR image matching. This paper proposes an airborne platform positioning method based on interferometric SAR (InSAR) interferogram matching. InSAR interferograms contain terrain elevation information, are less affected by seasonal changes, and provide higher positioning accuracy and robustness. By matching real-time InSAR-processed interferograms with simulated interferograms using a digital elevation model (DEM), three-dimensional position information about the matching points has been obtained. Subsequently, a three-dimensional positioning model for the platform has bene established using the unit line-of-sight vector decomposition method. The utilization of deep learning in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) has witnessed a recent surge owing to its remarkable feature extraction capabilities. Nonetheless, deep learning methodologies are often encumbered by inadequacies in labeled data and the protracted nature of training processes. To address these challenges and offer an alternative avenue for accurately extracting image features, this paper puts forth a novel and distinctive network dubbed the Capsule Broad Learning System Network for robust SAR ATR (CBLS-SARNET). This novel strategy is specifically tailored to cater to small-sample SAR ATR scenarios. On the one hand, we introduce a United Division Co-training (UDC) Framework as a feature filter, adeptly amalgamating CapsNet and the Broad Learning System (BLS) to enhance network efficiency and efficacy. On the other hand, we devise a Parameters Sharing (PS) network to facilitate secondary learning by sharing the weight and bias of BLS node layers, thereby augmenting the recognition capability of CBLS-SARNET. Experimental results unequivocally demonstrate that our proposed CBLS-SARNET outperforms other deep learning methods in terms of recognition accuracy and training time. Furthermore, experiments validate the generalization and robustness of our novel method under various conditions, including the addition of blur, Gaussian noise, noisy labels, and different depression angles. Frequency synchronization error, as one of the inevitable technical challenges in distributed synthetic aperture radar (SAR), has different impacts on different SAR systems. Multi-monostatic SAR is a typical distributed configuration where frequency synchronization errors are tiny in distributed airborne and low earth orbit (LEO) SAR systems. However, due to the long time delay and long synthetic aperture time, the imaging performance of a multi-monostatic geosynchronous (GEO) SAR system is affected by frequency oscillator errors. In this paper, to investigate the frequency synchronization problem in this configuration, we firstly model the echo signals with the frequency synchronization errors, which can be divided into fixed frequency errors and random phase noise. Secondly, we talk about the impacts of the two kinds of errors on imaging performance. To solve the problem, we thirdly propose an autofocus back-projection (ABP) algorithm, which adopts the coordinate descent method and iteratively adjusts the phase error estimation until the image reaches its maximum sharpness. Based on the characteristics of the frequency synchronization errors, we further propose the Node ABP (NABP) algorithm, which greatly reduces the amount of storage and computation compared to the ABP algorithm. Although graph convolutional networks have found application in polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image classification tasks, the available approaches cannot operate on multiple graphs, which hinders their potential to generalize effective feature representations across different datasets. To overcome this limitation and achieve robust PolSAR image classification, this paper proposes a novel end-to-end cross-level interaction graph U-Net (CLIGUNet), where weighted max-relative spatial convolution is proposed to enable simultaneous learning of latent features from batch input. Moreover, it integrates weighted adjacency matrices, derived from the symmetric revised Wishart distance, to encode polarimetric similarity into weighted max-relative spatial graph convolution. Employing end-to-end trainable residual transformers with multi-head attention, our proposed cross-level interactions enable the decoder to fuse multi-scale graph feature representations, enhancing effective features from various scales through a deep supervision strategy. Additionally, multi-scale dynamic graphs are introduced to expand the receptive field, enabling trainable adjacency matrices with refined connectivity relationships and edge weights within each resolution. Experiments undertaken on real PolSAR datasets show the superiority of our CLIGUNet with respect to state-of-the-art networks in classification accuracy and robustness in handling unknown imagery with similar land covers. Surface water is a vital component of the Earth's water cycle and characterizing its dynamics is essential for understanding and managing our water resources. Satellite-based remote sensing has been used to monitor surface water dynamics, but cloud cover can obscure surface observations, particularly during flood events, hindering water identification. The fusion of optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data leverages the advantages of both sensors to provide accurate surface water maps while increasing the temporal density of unobstructed observations for monitoring surface water spatial dynamics. This paper presents a method for generating dense time series of surface water observations using optical–SAR sensor fusion and gap filling. We applied this method to data from the Copernicus Sentinel-1 and Landsat 8 satellite data from 2019 over six regions spanning different ecological and climatological conditions. We validated the resulting surface water maps using an independent, hand-labeled dataset and found an overall accuracy of 0.9025, with an accuracy range of 0.8656–0.9212 between the different regions. The validation showed an overall false alarm ratio (FAR) of 0.0631, a probability of detection (POD) of 0.8394, and a critical success index (CSI) of 0.8073, indicating that the method generally performs well at identifying water areas. However, it slightly underpredicts water areas with more false negatives. We found that fusing optical and SAR data for surface water mapping increased, on average, the number of observations for the regions and months validated in 2019 from 11.46 for optical and 55.35 for SAR to 64.90 using both, a 466% and 17% increase, respectively. The results show that the method can effectively fill in gaps in optical data caused by cloud cover and produce a dense time series of surface water maps. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an important tool for observing the oceanic internal wave phenomenon. However, owing to the unstable imaging quality of SAR on oceanic internal waves, the texture details of internal wave images are usually unclear, which is not conducive to the subsequent applications of the images. To cope with this problem, a texture enhancement method for oceanic internal wave SAR images is proposed in this paper, which is based on non-local mean (NLM) filtering and texture layer enhancement (TLE). Since the strong speckle noise commonly present in internal wave images is simultaneously enhanced during texture enhancement, resulting in degraded image quality, NLM filtering is first performed to suppress speckle noise. Then, the denoised image is decomposed into the structure layer and the texture layer, and a texture layer enhancement method oriented to the texture characteristics of oceanic internal waves is proposed and applied. Finally, the enhanced texture layer and the structure layer are combined to reconstruct the final enhanced image. Experiments are conducted based on the Gaofen-3 real SAR data, and the results demonstrate that the proposed method performs well in suppressing speckle noise, maintaining overall image brightness, and enhancing internal wave texture details. LuTan-1 (LT-1) is a bistatic synthetic aperture radar (BiSAR) system consisting of two identical L-band SAR satellites. The bistatic mode of LT-1 plays a critical role in generating high-precision digital elevation models (DEMs), which requires precise geometric calibration of initial range and azimuth times for both SARs to ensure the reliability and quality of geolocation. However, existing geometric calibration methods predominantly focus on monostatic SAR systems, with limited literature on slave SAR calibration in bistatic systems. This research addresses this gap by establishing geometric calibration models for both SARs based on signal echo history and the range–Doppler model. The geometric errors are effectively resolved using corner reflector data from Xinjiang, China. Through statistical analysis of LT-1 SAR images acquired between July and November in bistatic mode, this paper has demonstrated range delay accuracy of better than 5 ns and azimuth time accuracy of better than 0.1 ms. This level of precision translates into a positional accuracy better than 0.8 m. The proposed models have been successfully applied to geometric calibration, providing precise geolocation for LT-1, thus enhancing its utility for a wide range of Earth observation applications. Tidal flats are some of the most dynamic coastal environments in the world, where traditional coastal mapping and monitoring provide insufficient temporal resolution to reliably map channels and sand flats. Satellite-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) enables regular cloud-penetrating detection of water flowing through channels within the tidal flats, referred to as tidal channels. This paper presents a method for detecting a path through tidal channels, using satellite imagery, that supports our understanding and safe exploitation of this valuable coastal environment. This approach is the first proposed to identify navigable paths in all conditions, with SAR images susceptible to variation due to weather and tidal conditions. Tidal channels are known to vary in SAR presentation, and we find that tidal flat presentation is also influenced by conditions. The most influential factor is the wind, with high winds causing an inversion in how both tidal flats and tidal channels present in SAR images. The presented method for the automatic detection of tidal channels accounts for this variability by using previous channel paths as a reference to reliably correct imagery and detect the latest path. The final algorithm produces paths with minor errors in 17.6% of images; the error rate increases to 71.7%, with an almost tenfold increase in errors, when the SAR image and paths are not adjusted to account for conditions. This capability has been used to support the Nith Inshore Rescue in attending call-outs from their base in Glencaple, UK, while the insights from monitoring tidal channels for a year demonstrate how periods of high river flow preceded major changes in the channel path. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) enables precise object localization and imaging, which has propelled the rapid development of algorithms for maritime ship identification and detection. However, most current deep learning-based algorithms tend to increase network depth to improve detection accuracy, which may result in the loss of effective features of the target. In response to this challenge, this paper innovatively proposes an object-enhanced network, OE-YOLO, designed specifically for SAR ship detection. Firstly, we input the original image into an improved CFAR detector, which enhances the network's ability to localize and perform object extraction by providing more information through an additional channel. Additionally, the Coordinate Attention mechanism (CA) is introduced into the backbone of YOLOv7-tiny to improve the model's ability to capture spatial and positional information in the image, thereby alleviating the problem of losing the position of small objects. Furthermore, to enhance the model's detection capability for multi-scale objects, we optimize the neck part of the original model to integrate the Asymptotic Feature Fusion (AFF) network. Finally, the proposed network model is thoroughly tested and evaluated using publicly available SAR image datasets, including the SAR-Ship-Dataset and HRSID dataset. In comparison to the baseline method YOLOv7-tiny, OE-YOLO exhibits superior performance with a lower parameter count. In synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging, intelligent object detection methods are facing significant challenges in terms of model robustness and application security, which are posed by adversarial examples. The existing adversarial example generation methods for SAR object detection can be divided into two main types: global perturbation attacks and local perturbation attacks. Due to the dynamic changes and irregular spatial distribution of SAR coherent speckle backgrounds, the attack effectiveness of global perturbation attacks is significantly reduced by coherent speckle. In contrast, by focusing on the image objects, local perturbation attacks achieve targeted and effective advantages over global perturbations by minimizing interference from the SAR coherent speckle background. However, the adaptability of conventional local perturbations is limited because they employ a fixed size without considering the diverse sizes and shapes of SAR objects under various conditions. This paper presents a framework for region-adaptive local perturbations (RaLP) specifically designed for SAR object detection tasks. The framework consists of two modules. To address the issue of coherent speckle noise interference in SAR imagery, we develop a local perturbation generator (LPG) module. By filtering the original image, this module reduces the speckle features introduced during perturbation generation. It then superimposes adversarial perturbations in the form of local perturbations on areas of the object with weaker speckles, thereby reducing the mutual interference between coherent speckles and adversarial perturbation. To address the issue of insufficient adaptability in terms of the size variation in local adversarial perturbations, we propose an adaptive perturbation optimizer (APO) module. This optimizer adapts the size of the adversarial perturbations based on the size and shape of the object, effectively solving the problem of adaptive perturbation size and enhancing the universality of the attack. The experimental results show that RaLP reduces the detection accuracy of the YOLOv3 detector by 29.0%, 29.9%, and 32.3% on the SSDD, SAR-Ship, and AIR-SARShip datasets, respectively, and the model-to-model and dataset-to-dataset transferability of RaLP attacks are verified. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images are widely utilized in the field of remote sensing. However, there is a limited body of literature specifically addressing the compression of SAR learning images. To address the escalating volume of SAR image data for storage and transmission, which necessitates more effective compression algorithms, this paper proposes a novel framework for compressing SAR images. Experimental validation is performed using a representative low-resolution Sentinel-1 dataset and the high-resolution QiLu-1 dataset. Initially, we introduce a novel two-stage transformation-based approach aimed at suppressing the low-frequency components of the input data, thereby achieving a high information entropy and minimizing quantization losses. Subsequently, a quality map guidance image compression algorithm is introduced, involving the fusion of the input SAR images with a target-aware map. This fusion involves convolutional transformations to generate a compact latent representation, effectively exploring redundancies between focused and non-focused areas. To assess the algorithm's performance, experiments are carried out on both the low-resolution Sentinel-1 dataset and the high-resolution QiLu-1 dataset. The results indicate that the low-frequency suppression algorithm significantly outperforms traditional processing algorithms by 3–8 dB when quantifying the input data, effectively preserving image features and improving image performance metrics. The bistatic Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) system can overcome the physical limitations imposed by the baseline of monostatic dual-antenna InSAR. It provides greater flexibility and can enhance elevation measurement accuracy through a well-designed baseline configuration. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with bistatic InSAR, having relatively low cost and high flexibility, are useful for mapping and land resource exploration. However, due to challenges including spatiotemporal synchronization and motion errors, there are limited reports on UAV-borne bistatic InSAR. This paper proposes a comprehensive method for processing data from small UAV-borne bistatic InSAR by integrating two-way synchronization chain signals. The proposed method includes compensation for time and phase synchronization errors, trajectory refinement with synchronized chain and Position and Orientation System (POS) data, high-precision bistatic InSAR imaging, and interferometric processing. Height inversion results based on the proposed method are also provided, which demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving the accuracy of interferometric measurement at calibration points from 0.66 m to 0.42 m. A novel compressive sensing (CS) synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) called AgileSAR has been proposed to increase swath width for sparse scenes while preserving azimuthal resolution. AgileSAR overcomes the limitation of the Nyquist sampling theorem so that it has a small amount of data and low system complexity. However, traditional CS optimization-based algorithms suffer from manual tuning and pre-definition of optimization parameters, and they generally involve high time and computational complexity for AgileSAR imaging. To address these issues, a pseudo- L 0 -norm fast iterative shrinkage algorithm network (pseudo- L 0 -norm FISTA-net) is proposed for AgileSAR imaging via the deep unfolding network in this paper. Firstly, a pseudo- L 0 -norm regularization model is built by taking an approximately fair penalization rule based on Bayesian estimation. Then, we unfold the operation process of FISTA into a data-driven deep network to solve the pseudo- L 0 -norm regularization model. The network's parameters are automatically learned, and the learned network significantly increases imaging speed, so that it can improve the accuracy and efficiency of AgileSAR imaging. In addition, the nonlinearly sparsifying transform can learn more target details than the traditional sparsifying transform. In complex environments, the clutter statistical characteristics of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) are inconstant, and the constant detection performance of a false alarm rate (CFAR) detector based on a clutter statistical model is also hard to achieve. As a result, the overestimated threshold leads to a degradation in detection probability. To this end, this paper proposes a SAR ship detector different from CFAR detectors, which is independent of traditional clutter statistical distribution models and the probability of a false alarm (PFA). The proposed detector aims to raise the ship detection probability and alleviate interference from complex environments such as multi-target areas, shores, and breakwaters. It estimates clutter-truncated thresholds based on clutter intensity statistics (CIS). Firstly, three statistical parameters, including the mean, standard deviation, and maximum intensity of background clutter contaminated by outliers, are calculated; secondly, these parameters are utilized to estimate the clutter-truncated threshold using the novel CIS; and finally, the pixel under test is determined according to the CIS detection rule. Compared with CFAR-based algorithms, CIS obtains a high probability of detection in complex environments. As for other aspects, the CIS detector is insensitive to the structure of the detection window, as well as the size. It is also computationally efficient due to its simple calculations. Ship wake detection using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery provides a way to obtain small marine ship information, but it often becomes unavailable and unreliable during a high sea state. Polarimetric information provides a potential way to solve this problem, which can enhance the ship target as well as the ship wake features. However, three challenges still exist in ship wake detection in polarimetric SAR imagery: the unwanted influences of bright and singular points on ship wake detection, the lack of performance analysis of wake detection by new-type polarimetric enhancement methods, and the difficulty of using the assessment criteria for ship wake detection. In this paper, we try to solve the above problems. Firstly, fully polarized SAR imagery of both ship turbulent and Kelvin wake is simulated based on the two-scale composite model, and the Polarimetric Whitening Filter (PWF) and Polarimetric Detection Optimization Filter (PDOF) are applied to the simulated fully polarized SAR imagery to enhance the ship wake features. Secondly, since the bright and singular points resulting from the ship echoes and the polarimetric enhancement methods may lead to misdetections, a logarithm process and z-score normalization pre-processing has been applied to the images. Then, a new assessment criterion for wake detection performance has been formulated, and the probability of missing detections (PMDs) and the probability of false alarms (PFAs) have been defined for two different requirements. And a Radon transform-based ship wake detection method for both ship turbulence and Kelvin wake has been carried out in horizontal–horizontal (HH), vertical–vertical (VV), horizontal–vertical (HV), PWF and PDOF SAR imagery. Finally, an analysis of the wake detection performance has been carried out. The array interferometric synthetic aperture radar (Array InSAR) system resolves shadow issues by employing two scans in opposite directions, facilitating the acquisition of a comprehensive three-dimensional representation of the observed scene. The point clouds obtained from the two scans need to be transformed into the same coordinate system using registration techniques to create a more comprehensive visual representation. However, the two-point clouds lack corresponding points and exhibit distinct geometric distortions, thereby preventing direct registration. This paper analyzes the error characteristics of array InSAR point clouds and proposes a robust registration method for array InSAR point clouds in urban scenes. It represents the 3D information of the point clouds using images, with pixel positions corresponding to the azimuth and ground range directions. Pixel intensity denotes the average height of points within the pixel. The KAZE algorithm and enhanced matching approach are used to obtain the homonymous points of two images, subsequently determining the transformation relationship between them. Experimental results with actual data demonstrate that, for architectural elements within urban scenes, the relative angular differences of registered facades are below 0.5°. This paper presents a methodology to detect the coastal erosion and progradation effects in the 'Atrato River' delta, located in the Gulf of Urabá in Colombia, using SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images. Erosion is the physical–mechanical loss of the soil that affects its functions and ecosystem services while producing a reduction in its productive capacity. Progradation is the deposition of layers in the basinward direction while moving coastward. Other studies have investigated these two phenomena using optical images, encountering difficulties due to the persistent presence of clouds in this region. In order to avoid the cloud effects, in this study, we used 16 Sentinel 1 SAR images with two different polarizations between 2016 and 2023. First, each image was rescaled from 0 to 255, then the image was despeckled by a deep learning (DL) model. Afterwards, a single RGB image was composed with the filtered polarizations. Next, a classifier with 99% accuracy based on Otsu's method was used to determine whether each pixel was water or not. Then, the classified image was registered to a reference one using Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) descriptor. Finally, a multitemporal analysis was performed by comparing every image to the previous one to identify the studied phenomena, calculating areas. Also, all images were integrated to obtain a heatmap that showed the overall changes across eight years (2016–2023) in a single image. The multitemporal analysis performed found that the newly created mouth is the most active area for these processes, coinciding with other studies. In addition, a comparison of these findings with the Oceanic Niño Index (ONI) showed a relative delayed coupling to the erosion process and a coupling of progradation with dry and wet seasons. The circular synthetic aperture radar (CSAR) has the ability of all-round continuous observation and high-resolution imaging detection, and can obtain all-round scattering information and higher-resolution images of the observation scene, so as to realize the target information extraction and three-dimensional (3D) contour reconstruction of the observation targets. However, the existing methods are not accurate enough to extract the information of vehicle targets. Through the analysis of the vehicle target scattering model and CSAR image characteristics, this paper proposes a vehicle target information extraction and 3D contour reconstruction method based on multiple different pitch-angle observation CSAR data. The proposed method creatively utilizes the projection relationship of the vehicle in 2D CSAR imaging to reconstruct the 3D contour of the vehicle, without prior information. Firstly, the CSAR data obtained from multiple different pitch-angle observations are fully utilized, and the scattering points of odd-bounce reflection and even-bounce reflection echoes are extracted from the two-dimensional (2D) coherent CSAR images of the vehicle target. Secondly, the basic contour of the vehicle body is extracted from the scattering points of the even-bounce reflected echoes. Then, the geometric projection relationship of the "top–bottom shifting" effect of odd-bounce reflection is used to calculate the height and position information of the scattering points of odd-bounce reflection, so as to extract the multi-layer 3D contour of the vehicle target. Finally, the basic contour and the multi-layer 3D contour of the vehicle are fused to realize high-precision 3D contour reconstruction of the vehicle target. The correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by using the CVDomes simulation dataset of the American Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and the experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve high-precision information extraction and realize distinct 3D contour reconstruction of the vehicle target. Long-distance water transfer is a critical engineering measure to rectify disparities in water resource distribution across regions. The effective operation and safety of such projects are paramount to their success, as localized issues can have cascading consequences, potentially disrupting the entire network. Conventional ground-based monitoring methods have limitations in measuring the deformation of large-scale structures. In this paper, InSAR is employed to monitor the deformation of the Shuangwangcheng (SWC) Reservoir, which features a long embankment dam as part of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project in China. We utilize data from both Sentinel-1 and TerraSAR-X satellites to derive 7-year deformation. Results reveal that the entire dam experiences continuous subsidence, with the maximum deformation in the line-of-sight direction measuring ~160 mm. While minor differential settlements are noted in different sections of the dam, the gradient is not significant due to the dam's substantial length. The InSAR deformation results from multiple geometries demonstrate good consistency, with the highest correlation observed between the Sentinel-1 ascending and descending datasets, exceeding 0.9. Validation against the GNSS observations of the three sites on the SWC Dam shows the accuracy of InSAR displacements is ~8 mm. Water level changes do impact deformation, but consolidation settlement appears to be the primary controlling factor during the monitoring period. By means of alteration of the transmitted linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal waveform parameters, such as pulse width or chirp rate, initial phase, pulse repetition interval (PRI), and chirp rate polarity at every position of synthetic apertures, the pseudo-random agility technology of interpulse waveform parameters in airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) actively increases the complexity and uncertainty of radar waveforms. This technology confuses jamming interception receivers, thus improving its anti-interference ability for active coherent jamming, which is one of the main research interests of airborne SAR technology. But the pseudo-random agility technology for interpulse waveform parameters faces certain challenges of large computation and complex system design, which need to be further studied and solved. To address these issues, a processing scheme of high-resolution SAR image formation which is appropriate for agile interpulse waveform parameters is proposed in this paper. This method can deal with multiple agile parameters, not only single ones as in most existing literature. Its computation load is nearly comparable to that of traditional SAR image formation with constant waveform parameters. The high-resolution SAR imaging results obtained by processing SAR raw data with agile interpulse waveform parameters demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. In addition, real SAR images with resolutions of 0.5 m and 0.15 m, which are rarely found in the public literature, are shown under the circumstance of randomly changing the transmitted wideband LFM signal pulse parameters one by one. Radio frequency interference (RFI) poses major threats to synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems. Due to the suppression of useful target signals via high-power RFI, the SAR imaging quality is severely degraded. Nevertheless, existing studies on RFI mitigation mainly focus on narrowband filtering, while wideband RFI mitigation methods are relatively lacking and perform non-robustly. In this paper, an RFI mitigation scheme is proposed based on instantaneous spectrum forward consecutive mean excision (FCME), which is suitable for both narrowband and wideband RFI mitigation. The SAR echo signal is first transformed into a time–frequency (TF) domain through a short-time Fourier transform (STFT). On this basis, the instantaneous spectra polluted via RFI are detected via a kurtosis-based statistical test and then filtered via FCME to achieve RFI mitigation. Finally, connected component analysis is applied as a safety measure so as to avoid the unnecessary loss of useful target signal. The combination of FCME and connected component analysis enables the proposed method to thoroughly filter out RFI while retaining more useful target signals compared with other competing methods. Holographic synthetic aperture radar tomography (HoloSAR) combines circular synthetic aperture radar (CSAR) and SAR tomography (TomoSAR) to enable a 360° azimuth observation of the considered scene. This imaging mode achieves a high-resolution three-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction across a full 360°. To capture the deformation information of the observed target, this paper first explores the differential HoloSAR imaging mode, which combines the technologies of CSAR and differential TomoSAR (D-TomoSAR). Then, we propose an imaging method based on the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm and a support generalized likelihood ratio (Sup-GLRT), aiming to achieve high-precision multi-dimensional reconstruction of the surveillance area. In addition, a statistical outlier removal (SOR) point cloud filtering technique is applied to enhance the accuracy of the reconstructed point cloud. In order to achieve miniaturization, short-range radar (SRR) generally adopts millimeter-wave (MMW) radar with a frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) system, which may make the stop–go–stop assumption in traditional synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging algorithms invalid. In addition, in order to observe a large enough area, SRR often needs a wide radar beam, which may cause serious range–azimuth coupling when using SRR for SAR imaging. The above two problems may make the traditional SAR imaging algorithm invalid in SRR SAR imaging. Taking the SRR SAR imaging application into account, traditional frequency domain SAR imaging algorithms are analyzed and improved in this paper. Firstly, the intra-pulse motion (IPM) caused by the FMCW system and the two-dimensional coupling (TDC) in the case of a wide beam are analyzed. Subsequently, the applicability of the range Doppler algorithm (RDA), the frequency scaling algorithm (FSA) and the range migration algorithm (RMA) for SRR SAR is analyzed. Then, improvement measures are put forward to address the aliasing and folding phenomena caused by the wide-beam problem in the FSA and RMA, respectively. Geological hazards often occur in mountainous areas and are sudden and hidden, so it is important to identify and assess geological hazards. In this paper, the western mountainous area of Beijing was selected as the study area. We conducted research on landslides, collapses, and unstable slopes in the study area. The surface deformation of the study area was monitored by multi-temporal interferometric synthetic aperture radar (MT-InSAR), using a combination of multi-looking point selection and permanent scatterer (PS) point selection methods. Random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), convolutional neural network (CNN), and recurrent neural network (RNN) models were selected for the assessment of geological hazard susceptibility. Sixteen geological hazard-influencing factors were collected, and their information values were calculated using their features. Multicollinearity analysis with the relief-F method was used to calculate the correlation and importance of the factors for factor selection. The results show that the deformation rate along the line-of-sight (LOS) direction is between −44 mm/year and 28 mm/year. A total of 60 geological hazards were identified by combining surface deformation with optical imagery and other data, including 7 collapses, 25 unstable slopes, and 28 landslides. Forty-eight of the identified geological hazards are not recorded in the Beijing geological hazards list. The most effective model in the study area was RF. The percentage of geological hazard susceptibility zoning in the study area is as follows: very low susceptibility 27.40%, low susceptibility 28.06%, moderate susceptibility 21.19%, high susceptibility 13.80%, very high susceptibility 9.57%. This paper presents a strategy for extracting three-dimensional (3D) mining deformation from a single-geometry synthetic aperture radar (SAR) dataset. In light of the directionality of horizontal displacement caused by underground mining, we first re-model the proportional relationship between horizontal displacement and horizontal gradient of subsidence. Afterward, to improve the stability of the re-model, a solution strategy is proposed by setting different solution starting points and directions. The proposed method allows hiring of arbitrary single-geometry SAR data (e.g., air-borne, space-borne, and ground-borne SAR data) to reconstruct 3D displacements of mining areas. The proposed method has been validated through simulation and in-site data. The simulation data monitoring results indicate that the root mean square errors (RMSE) of the 3D displacements extracted by the proposed strategy are 0.45, 0.5, and 2.98 mm for the vertical subsidence, east–west, and north–south horizontal displacements, respectively. The in-site data monitoring results indicate that the RMSE of vertical subsidence compared with the leveling data are 7.3 mm. Furthermore, the MSBAS method was employed to further validate the reliability of the proposed method, the results show that the proposed method is effective to obtain the 3D deformation of the mining area, which greatly improves the applicability of SAR interferometry in the 3D deformation monitoring of the mining areas. Multistatic airborne SAR (MuA-SAR) benefits from the ability to flexibly adjust the positions of multiple transmitters and receivers in space, which can shorten the synthetic aperture time to achieve the required resolution. To ensure both imaging efficiency and quality of different system spatial configurations and trajectories, the fast factorized back projection (FFBP) algorithm is proposed. However, if the FFBP algorithm based on polar coordinates is directly applied to the MuA-SAR system, the interpolation in the recursive fusion process will bring the problem of redundant calculations and error accumulation, leading to a sharp decrease in imaging efficiency and quality. In this paper, a unified Cartesian fast factorized back projection (UCFFBP) algorithm with a multi-level regional attention strategy is proposed for MuA-SAR fast imaging. First, a global Cartesian coordinate system (GCCS) is established. Through designing the rotation mapping matrix and phase compensation factor, data from different bistatic radar pairs can be processed coherently and efficiently. In addition, a multi-level regional attention strategy based on maximally stable extremal regions (MSER) is proposed. In the recursive fusion process, only the suspected target regions are paid more attention and segmented for coherent fusion at each fusion level, which further improves efficiency. Recently, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) target detection algorithms based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) have received increasing attention. However, the large amount of computation required burdens the real-time detection of SAR ship targets on resource-limited and power-constrained satellite-based platforms. In this paper, we propose a hardware-aware model speed-up method for single-stage SAR ship targets detection tasks, oriented towards the most widely used hardware for neural network computing—Graphic Processing Unit (GPU). We first analyze the process by which the task of detection is executed on GPUs and propose two strategies according to this process. Firstly, in order to speed up the execution of the model on a GPU, we propose SAR-aware model quantification to allow the original model to be stored and computed in a low-precision format. Next, to ensure the loss of accuracy is negligible after the acceleration and compression process, precision-aware scheduling is used to filter out layers that are not suitable for quantification and store and execute them in a high-precision mode. Trained on the dataset HRSID, the effectiveness of this model speed-up algorithm was demonstrated by compressing four different sizes of models (yolov5n, yolov5s, yolov5m, yolov5l). The experimental results show that the detection speeds of yolov5n, yolov5s, yolov5m, and yolov5l can reach 234.7785 fps, 212.8341 fps, 165.6523 fps, and 139.8758 fps on the NVIDIA AGX Xavier development board with negligible loss of accuracy, which is 1.230 times, 1.469 times, 1.955 times, and 2.448 times faster than the original before the use of this method, respectively. The deep learning technique has already been successfully applied in the field of microwave remote sensing. Especially, convolutional neural networks have demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image semantic segmentation. In this paper, a Lovász-softmax loss optimization SAR net (LoSARNet) is proposed which optimizes the semantic segmentation metric intersection over union (IOU) instead of using the traditional cross-entropy loss. Meanwhile, making use of the advantages of the dual-path structure, the network extracts feature through the spatial path (SP) and the context path (CP) to achieve a balance between efficiency and accuracy. Aiming at a polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) image, the proposed network is conducted on the PolSAR datasets for terrain segmentation. Compared to the typical dual-path network, which is the bilateral segmentation network (BiSeNet), the proposed LoSARNet can obtain better mean intersection over union (MIOU). Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image classification has been an important area of research due to its wide range of applications. Traditional machine learning methods were insufficient in achieving satisfactory results before the advent of deep learning. Results have significantly improved with the widespread use of deep learning in PolSAR image classification. However, the challenge of reconciling the complex-valued inputs of PolSAR images with the real-valued models of deep learning remains unsolved. Current complex-valued deep learning models treat complex numbers as two distinct real numbers, providing limited assistance in PolSAR image classification results. This paper proposes a novel, complex-valued deep learning approach for PolSAR image classification to address this issue. The approach includes amplitude-based max pooling, complex-valued nonlinear activation, and a cross-entropy loss function based on complex-valued probability. Amplitude-based max pooling reduces computational effort while preserving the most valuable complex-valued features. Complex-valued nonlinear activation maps feature into a high-dimensional complex-domain space, producing the most discriminative features. The complex-valued cross-entropy loss function computes the classification loss using the complex-valued model output and dataset labels, resulting in more accurate and robust classification results. The proposed method was applied to a shallow CNN, deep CNN, FCN, and SegNet, and its effectiveness was verified on three public datasets. This paper presents a deep framework EddyDet to automatically detect oceanic eddies in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. The EddyDet has been developed using the Mask Region with Convolutional Neural Networks (Mask RCNN) framework, incorporating two new branches: Edge Head and Mask Intersection over Union (IoU) Head. The Edge Head can learn internal texture information implicitly, and the Mask IoU Head improves the quality of predicted masks. A SAR dataset for Oceanic Eddy Detection (SOED) is specifically constructed to evaluate the effectiveness of the EddyDet model in detecting oceanic eddies. We demonstrate that the EddyDet is capable of achieving acceptable eddy detection results under the condition of limited training samples, which outperforms a Mask RCNN baseline in terms of average precision. The combined Edge Head and Mask IoU Head have the ability to describe the characteristics of eddies more correctly, while the EddyDet shows great potential in practice use accurately and time efficiently, saving manual labor to a large extent. The mud receiving area is an important sand storage area for dredging sea sand reclamation and sand-dumping in the waterway. The sediment accumulation area generated in the process of sand dumping and sand storage has an impact on the surrounding transportation facilities and the normal use of the entire sand storage area. From 6 August 2021 to 9 May 2022, The Sentinel-1A 24-view SLC data covering the sludge area were used to monitor the safety around the seawall road by InSAR technology. Synthetic aperture radar differential interferometry (Differential InSAR, D-InSAR) technology can obtain surface micro deformation information through single-time differential interference processing, mainly used for sudden surface deformation. D-InSAR technology detected five accumulation areas with a thickness of more than 10 cm near the seawall road, earth embankment, and cofferdam, and TS-InSAR (Time series InSAR) technology was used to retrieve the deformation of the surrounding road. The road settlement is a slight settlement distributed between ±5 mm/a. This paper uses the leveling results combined with variance analysis to verify the fusion of different TS-InSAR methods while considering the area of data loss due to causes such as loss of coherence. This paper also considers the common ground continuity and uses the adjacent interpolation and bilinear interpolation algorithm to improve knowledge of the study area seawall road and the surrounding soil embankment deformation data of the road. Compared with the leveling data, the difference between the missing data and the leveling data after interpolation is stable at about 1–7 mm, which increases the risk level of part of the road which needs to be maintained. Registration of optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images is challenging because extracting located identically and unique features on both images are tricky. This paper proposes a novel optical and SAR image registration method based on relative total variation (RTV) and scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT), named RTV-SIFT, to extract feature points on the edges of structures and construct structural edge descriptors to improve the registration accuracy. First, a novel RTV-Harris feature point detection method by combining the RTV and the multiscale Harris algorithm is proposed to extract feature points on both images' significant structures. This ensures a high repetition rate of the feature points. Second, the feature point descriptors are constructed on enhanced phase congruency edge (EPCE), which combines the Sobel operator and maximum moment of phase congruency (PC) to extract edges from structured images that enhance robustness to nonlinear intensity differences and speckle noise. Finally, after coarse registration, the position and orientation Euclidean distance (POED) between feature points is utilized to achieve fine feature point matching to improve the registration accuracy. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed RTV-SIFT method in different scenes and image capture conditions, indicating its robustness and effectiveness in optical and SAR image registration. Monitoring mine activities can help management track the status of mineral resource exploration and mine rehabilitation. It is crucial to the sustainable development of the mining industry and the protection of the geological environment in mining areas. To monitor the mining activities of shallow surface outcrops in the arid and semi-arid regions of northwest China, this paper proposes a remote sensing monitoring approach of mining activities based on deep learning and integrated interferometric synthetic aperture radar technique. This approach uses the DeepLabV3-ResNet model to identify and extract the spatial location of the mine patches and then uses object-oriented analysis and spatial analysis methods to optimize the mine patch boundaries. SBAS-InSAR technique is used to obtain the time-series deformation information of the mine patches and is combined with the multi-temporal optical imagery to analyze the mining activities in the study area. The proposed approach has a recognition accuracy of 95.80% for the identification and extraction of mine patches, with an F1-score of 0.727 at the pixel level, and the average area similarity for all patches is 0.78 at the object-oriented level. The proposed approach possesses the capability to analyze mining activities, indicating promising prospects for engineering applications. Ground-based radar interferometry is capable of measuring target displacement to sub-mm accuracy. W-band ground-based radar has recently been investigated as a potential application for structural health monitoring. On the other hand, the application of W-band ground-based radar for natural slope monitoring is considered in this study due to its advantages in portability and recent cost-effective solutions. In radar interferometry, atmospheric phase screen (APS) is the most relevant phase disturbance that should be corrected for accurate displacement measurement. However, the APS effects in W-band radar interferometry have rarely been discussed. In this context, we study and evaluate the impacts of APS and its potential correction methods for 79 GHz ground-based radar interferometry using multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) radar. This paper presents an experimental investigation of a 79 GHz radar system using two types of field experiments conducted in an open flat field and a quarry site. In addition to the W-band radar system, a Ku-band (17 GHz) ground-based synthetic aperture radar (GB-SAR) system was jointly tested to compare different operating frequency bands. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) ship detection is of significant importance in military and commercial applications. However, a high similarity in intensity and spatial distribution of scattering characteristics between the ship target and harbor facilities, along with a fuzzy sea-land boundary due to the strong speckle noise, result in a low detection accuracy and high false alarm rate for SAR ship detection with complex inshore scenes. In this paper, a new inshore ship detection method based on multi-modality saliency is proposed to overcome these challenges. Four saliency maps are established from different perspectives: an ocean-buffer saliency map (OBSM) outlining more accurate coastline under speckle noises; a local stability saliency map (LSSM) addressing pixel spatial distribution; a super-pixel saliency map (SPSM) extracting critical region-based features for inshore ship detection; and an intensity saliency map (ISM) to highlight target pixels with intensity distribution. By combining these saliency maps, ship targets in complex inshore scenes can be successfully detected. The method provides a novel interdisciplinary perspective (surface metrology) for SAR image segmentation, discovers the difference in spatial characteristics of SAR image elements, and proposes a novel robust CFAR procedure for background clutter fitting. Experiments on a public SAR ship detection dataset (SSDD) shows that our method achieves excellent detection performance, with a low false alarm rate, in offshore scenes, inshore scenes, inshore scenes with confusing metallic port facilities, and large-scale scenes. For a single-channel spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR), the usage of a low pulse repetition frequency (PRF) is an effective technical way to extend the range swath. The sub-aperture imaging strategy is usually used to solve the problem of azimuth spectrum aliasing under the condition of a low PRF. However, the required up-sampling processing before the coherent synthesis of sub-images will lead to spectrum discontinuity between adjacent sub-images, which leads to an obvious grating lobe phenomenon after the process of sub-image synthesis, resulting in a significant decrease in image quality. For this issue, a high-resolution wide-swath (HRWS) imaging algorithm for a spaceborne SAR with a low PRF is proposed in this paper based on optimal spectrum shift processing. First, each sub-aperture is imaged using the typical range migration algorithm (RMA), and then all sub-images are up-sampled at the same time. Then, based on the criterion of the minimum grating lobe, the optimal spectrum shift is estimated. Finally, the spectrum of all sub-images is shifted and then all the shifted sub-images are synthesized coherently.
