Scene text detection is an important research field in computer vision, playing a crucial role in various application scenarios. However, existing scene text detection methods often fail to achieve satisfactory results when faced with text instances of different sizes, shapes, and complex backgrounds. To address the challenge of detecting diverse texts in natural scenes, this paper proposes a multi-scale natural scene text detection method based on attention feature extraction and cascaded feature fusion. This method combines global and local attention through an improved attention feature fusion module (DSAF) to capture text features of different scales, enhancing the network's perception of text regions and improving its feature extraction capabilities. Simultaneously, an improved cascaded feature fusion module (PFFM) is used to fully integrate the extracted feature maps, expanding the receptive field of features and enriching the expressive ability of the feature maps. Finally, to address the cascaded feature maps, a lightweight subspace attention module (SAM) is introduced to partition the concatenated feature maps into several sub-space feature maps, facilitating spatial information interaction among features of different scales. In this paper, comparative experiments are conducted on the ICDAR2015, Total-Text, and MSRA-TD500 datasets, and comparisons are made with some existing scene text detection methods. As remote sensing technology has advanced, the use of satellites and similar technologies has become increasingly prevalent in daily life. Now, it plays a crucial role in hydrology, agriculture, and geography. Nevertheless, because of the distinct qualities of remote sensing, including expansive scenes and small, densely packed targets, there are many challenges in detecting remote sensing objects. Those challenges lead to insufficient accuracy in remote sensing object detection. Consequently, developing a new model is essential to enhance the identification capabilities for objects in remote sensing imagery. To solve these constraints, we have designed the OD-YOLO approach that uses multi-scale feature fusion to improve the performance of the YOLOv8n model in small target detection. Firstly, traditional convolutions have poor recognition capabilities for certain geometric shapes. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce the Detection Refinement Module (DRmodule) into the backbone architecture. This module utilizes Deformable Convolutional Networks and the Hybrid Attention Transformer to strengthen the model's capability for feature extraction from geometric shapes and blurred objects effectively. Meanwhile, based on the Feature Pyramid Network of YOLO, at the head of the model framework, this paper enhances the detection capability by introducing a Dynamic Head to strengthen the fusion of different scales features in the feature pyramid. Additionally, to address the issue of detecting small objects in remote sensing images, this paper specifically designs the OIoU loss function to finely describe the difference between the detection box and the true box, further enhancing model performance. Experiments on the VisDrone dataset show that OD-YOLO surpasses the compared models by at least 5.2% in mAP50 and 4.4% in mAP75, and experiments on the Foggy Cityscapes dataset demonstrated that OD-YOLO improved mAP by 6.5%, demonstrating outstanding results in tasks related to remote sensing images and adverse weather object detection. Aiming at the shortcomings of single-sensor sensing information characterization ability, which is easily interfered with by external environmental factors, a method of intelligent perception is proposed in this paper. This method integrates multi-source and multi-level information, including spindle temperature field, spindle thermal deformation, operating parameters, and motor current. Firstly, the internal and external thermal-error-related signals of the spindle system are collected by sensors, and the feature parameters are extracted; then, the radial basis function (RBF) neural network is utilized to realize the preliminary integration of the feature parameters because of the advantages of the RBF neural network, which offers strong multi-dimensional solid nonlinear mapping ability and generalization ability. Thermal-error decision values are then generated by a weighted fusion of different pieces of evidence by considering uncertain information from multiple sources. The spindle thermal-error sensing experiment was based on the spindle system of the VMC850 (Yunnan Machine Tool Group Co., LTD, Yunnan, China) vertical machining center of the Yunnan Machine Tool Factory. Experiments were designed for thermal-error sensing of the spindle under constant speed (2000 r/min and 4000 r/min), standard variable speed, and stepped variable speed conditions. The experiment's results show that the prediction accuracy of the intelligent-sensing model with multi-source information fusion can reach 98.1%, 99.3%, 98.6%, and 98.8% under the above working conditions, respectively. The intelligent-perception model proposed in this paper has higher accuracy and lower residual error than the traditional BP neural network perception and wavelet neural network models. With the increasing complexity of the grid meter dial, precise feature extraction is becoming more and more difficult. Many automatic recognition solutions have been proposed for grid meter readings. However, traditional inspection methods cannot guarantee detection accuracy in complex environments. So, deep-learning methods are combined with grid meter recognition. Existing recognition systems that utilize segmentation models exhibit very high computation. It is challenging to ensure high real-time performance in edge computing devices. Therefore, an improved meter recognition model based on YOLOv7 is proposed in this paper. Partial convolution (PConv) is introduced into YOLOv7 to create a lighter network. Different PConv introduction locations on the base module have been used in order to find the optimal approach for reducing the parameters and floating point of operations (FLOPs). Meanwhile, the dynamic head (DyHead) module is utilized to enhance the attention mechanism for the YOLOv7 model. It can improve the detection accuracy of striped objects. As a result, this paper achieves mAP 50 v a l of 97.87% and mAP 50 : 90 v a l of 62.4% with only 5.37 M parameters. The improved model's inference speed can reach 108 frames per second (FPS). Aiming at the problems of target detection models in traffic scenarios including a large number of parameters, heavy computational burden, and high application cost, this paper introduces an enhanced lightweight real-time detection algorithm, which exhibits higher detection speed and accuracy for vehicle detection. This paper considers the YOLOv7 algorithm as the benchmark model, designs a lightweight backbone network, and uses the MobileNetV3 lightweight network to extract target features. Inspired by the structure of SPPF, the spatial pyramid pooling module is reconfigured by incorporating GSConv, and a lightweight SPPFCSPC-GS module is designed, aiming to minimize the quantity of model parameters and enhance the training speed even further. Furthermore, the CA mechanism is integrated to enhance the feature extraction capability of the model. Finally, the MPDIoU loss function is utilized to optimize the model's training process. Experiments showcase that the refined YOLOv7 algorithm can achieve 98.2% mAP on the BIT-Vehicle dataset with 52.8% fewer model parameters than the original model and a 35.2% improvement in FPS. This work addresses the challenge of calibrating multiple solid-state LIDAR systems. The study focuses on three different solid-state LIDAR sensors that implement different hardware designs, leading to distinct scanning patterns for each system. Consequently, detecting corresponding points between the point clouds generated by these LIDAR systems—as required for calibration—is a complex task. To overcome this challenge, this paper proposes a method that involves several steps. First, the measurement data are preprocessed to enhance its quality. Next, features are extracted from the acquired point clouds using the Fast Point Feature Histogram method, which categorizes important characteristics of the data. Finally, the extrinsic parameters are computed using the Fast Global Registration technique. The best set of parameters for the pipeline and the calibration success are evaluated using the normalized root mean square error. In a static real-world indoor scenario, a minimum root mean square error of 7 c m was achieved. Importantly, the paper demonstrates that the presented approach is suitable for online use, indicating its potential for real-time applications. With the rapid advancement of remote-sensing technology, the spectral information obtained from hyperspectral remote-sensing imagery has become increasingly rich, facilitating detailed spectral analysis of Earth's surface objects. However, the abundance of spectral information presents certain challenges for data processing, such as the "curse of dimensionality" leading to the "Hughes phenomenon", "strong correlation" due to high resolution, and "nonlinear characteristics" caused by varying surface reflectances. Consequently, dimensionality reduction of hyperspectral data emerges as a critical task. This paper begins by elucidating the principles and processes of hyperspectral image dimensionality reduction based on manifold theory and learning methods, in light of the nonlinear structures and features present in hyperspectral remote-sensing data, and formulates a dimensionality reduction process based on manifold learning. Subsequently, this study explores the capabilities of feature extraction and low-dimensional embedding for hyperspectral imagery using manifold learning approaches, including principal components analysis (PCA), multidimensional scaling (MDS), and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) for linear methods; and isometric mapping (Isomap), locally linear embedding (LLE), Laplacian eigenmaps (LE), Hessian locally linear embedding (HLLE), local tangent space alignment (LTSA), and maximum variance unfolding (MVU) for nonlinear methods, based on the Indian Pines hyperspectral dataset and Pavia University dataset. Furthermore, the paper investigates the optimal neighborhood computation time and overall algorithm runtime for feature extraction in hyperspectral imagery, varying by the choice of neighborhood k and intrinsic dimensionality d values across different manifold learning methods. Based on the outcomes of feature extraction, the study examines the classification experiments of various manifold learning methods, comparing and analyzing the variations in classification accuracy and Kappa coefficient with different selections of neighborhood k and intrinsic dimensionality d values. In this paper, we propose a novel method for monocular depth estimation using the hourglass neck module. The proposed method has the following originality. First, feature maps are extracted from Swin Transformer V2 using a masked image modeling (MIM) pretrained model. Since Swin Transformer V2 has a different patch size for each attention stage, it is easier to extract local and global features from images input by the vision transformer (ViT)-based encoder. Second, to maintain the polymorphism and local inductive bias of the feature map extracted from Swin Transformer V2, a feature map is input into the hourglass neck module. Third, deformable attention can be used at the waist of the hourglass neck module to reduce the computation cost and highlight the locality of the feature map. Finally, the feature map traverses the neck and proceeds through a decoder, comprised of a deconvolution layer and an upsampling layer, to generate a depth image. To evaluate the objective reliability of the proposed method in this paper, we used the NYU Depth V2 dataset to compare and evaluate the methods published in other papers. As a result of the experiment, the RMSE value of the novel method for monocular depth estimation using the hourglass neck module proposed in this paper was 0.274, which was lower than those published in other papers. The main purpose of this paper is to provide information on how to create a convolutional neural network (CNN) for extracting features from EEG signals. Our task was to understand the primary aspects of creating and fine-tuning CNNs for various application scenarios. We considered the characteristics of EEG signals, coupled with an exploration of various signal processing and data preparation techniques. These techniques include noise reduction, filtering, encoding, decoding, and dimension reduction, among others. In addition, we conduct an in-depth analysis of well-known CNN architectures, categorizing them into four distinct groups: standard implementation, recurrent convolutional, decoder architecture, and combined architecture. Detecting pipeline leaks is an essential factor in maintaining the integrity of fluid transport systems. This paper introduces an advanced deep learning framework that uses continuous wavelet transform (CWT) images for precise detection of such leaks. Transforming acoustic signals from pipelines under various conditions into CWT scalograms, followed by signal processing by non-local means and adaptive histogram equalization, results in new enhanced leak-induced scalograms (ELIS) that capture detailed energy fluctuations across time-frequency scales. The fundamental approach takes advantage of a deep belief network (DBN) fine-tuned with a genetic algorithm (GA) and unified with a least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) to improve feature extraction and classification accuracy. This paper introduces BiLSTM-MLAM, a novel multi-scale time series prediction model. Initially, the approach utilizes bidirectional long short-term memory to capture information from both forward and backward directions in time series data. Subsequently, a multi-scale patch segmentation module generates various long sequences composed of equal-length segments, enabling the model to capture data patterns across multiple time scales by adjusting segment lengths. Finally, the local attention mechanism enhances feature extraction by accurately identifying and weighting important time segments, thereby strengthening the model's understanding of the local features of the time series, followed by feature fusion. The model demonstrates outstanding performance in time series prediction tasks by effectively capturing sequence information across various time scales. Experimental validation illustrates the superior performance of BiLSTM-MLAM compared to six baseline methods across multiple datasets. When predicting the remaining life of aircraft engines, BiLSTM-MLAM outperforms the best baseline model by 6.66% in RMSE and 11.50% in MAE. In the LTE dataset, it achieves RMSE improvements of 12.77% and MAE enhancements of 3.06%, while in the load dataset, it demonstrates RMSE enhancements of 17.96% and MAE improvements of 30.39%. Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a spectrum of motor and non-motor symptoms, prominently featuring the freezing of gait (FOG), which significantly impairs patients' quality of life. Despite extensive research, the precise mechanisms underlying FOG remain elusive, posing challenges for effective management and treatment. This paper presents a comprehensive meta-analysis of FOG prediction and detection methodologies, with a focus on the integration of wearable sensor technology and machine learning (ML) approaches. Through an exhaustive review of the literature, this study identifies key trends, datasets, preprocessing techniques, feature extraction methods, evaluation metrics, and comparative analyses between ML and non-ML approaches. The analysis also explores the utilization of cueing devices. The limited adoption of explainable AI (XAI) approaches in FOG prediction research represents a significant gap. Improving user acceptance and comprehension requires an understanding of the logic underlying algorithm predictions. Current FOG detection and prediction research has a number of limitations, which are identified in the discussion. These include issues with cueing devices, dataset constraints, ethical and privacy concerns, financial and accessibility restrictions, and the requirement for multidisciplinary collaboration. With the expansion of green energy, more and more data show that wind turbines can pose a significant threat to some endangered bird species. The birds of prey are more frequently exposed to collision risk with the wind turbine blades due to their unique flight path patterns. This paper shows how data from a stereovision system can be used for an efficient classification of detected objects. A method for distinguishing endangered birds from common birds and other flying objects has been developed and tested. The research focused on the selection of a suitable feature extraction methodology. Both motion and visual features are extracted from the Bioseco BPS system and retested using a correlation-based and a wrapper-type approach with genetic algorithms (GAs). With optimal features and fine-tuned classifiers, birds can be distinguished from aeroplanes with a 98.6% recall and 97% accuracy, whereas endangered birds are delimited from common ones with 93.5% recall and 77.2% accuracy. In recent years, with the increasing demand for high-quality images in various fields, more and more attention has been focused on noise removal techniques for image processing. The effective elimination of unwanted noise plays a crucial role in improving image quality. To meet this challenge, many noise removal methods have been proposed, among which the diffusion model has become one of the focuses of many researchers. In order to make the restored image closer to the real image and retain more features of the image, this paper proposes a DIR-SDE method with reference to the diffusion models of IR-SDE and IDM, which improve the feature retention of the image in the de-raining process, and then improve the realism of the image for the image de-raining task. In this study, IR-SDE was used as the base structure of the diffusion model, IR-SDE was improved, and DINO-ViT was combined to enhance the image features. During the diffusion process, the image features were extracted using DINO-ViT, and these features were fused with the original images to enhance the learning effect of the model. The model was also trained and validated with the Rain100H dataset. Compared with the IR-SDE method, it improved 0.003 in the SSIM, 0.003 in the LPIPS, and 1.23 in the FID. Loop-closure detection plays a pivotal role in simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). It serves to minimize cumulative errors and ensure the overall consistency of the generated map. This paper introduces a multi-sensor fusion-based loop-closure detection scheme (TS-LCD) to address the challenges of low robustness and inaccurate loop-closure detection encountered in single-sensor systems under varying lighting conditions and structurally similar environments. Our method comprises two innovative components: a timestamp synchronization method based on data processing and interpolation, and a two-order loop-closure detection scheme based on the fusion validation of visual and laser loops. Experimental results on the publicly available KITTI dataset reveal that the proposed method outperforms baseline algorithms, achieving a significant average reduction of 2.76% in the trajectory error (TE) and a notable decrease of 1.381 m per 100 m in the relative error (RE). Accurate identification of Seriola dumerili (SD) offers crucial technical support for aquaculture practices and behavioral research of this species. However, the task of discerning S. dumerili from complex underwater settings, fluctuating light conditions, and schools of fish presents a challenge. This paper proposes an intelligent recognition model based on the YOLOv8 network called SD-YOLOv8. By adding a small object detection layer and head, our model has a positive impact on the recognition capabilities for both close and distant instances of S. dumerili, significantly improving them. We construct a convenient S. dumerili dataset and introduce the deformable convolution network v2 (DCNv2) to enhance the information extraction process. Additionally, we employ the bottleneck attention module (BAM) and redesign the spatial pyramid pooling fusion (SPPF) for multidimensional feature extraction and fusion. The Inner-MPDIoU bounding box regression function adjusts the scale factor and evaluates geometric ratios to improve box positioning accuracy. The experimental results show that our SD-YOLOv8 model achieves higher accuracy and average precision, increasing from 89.2% to 93.2% and from 92.2% to 95.7%, respectively. Effective feature extraction and selection are crucial for the accurate classification and prediction of hand gestures based on electromyographic signals. In this paper, we systematically compare six filter and wrapper feature evaluation methods and investigate their respective impacts on the accuracy of gesture recognition. The investigation is based on several benchmark datasets and one real hand gesture dataset, including 15 hand force exercises collected from 14 healthy subjects using eight commercial sEMG sensors. A total of 37 time- and frequency-domain features were extracted from each sEMG channel. The benchmark dataset revealed that the minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance (mRMR) feature evaluation method had the poorest performance, resulting in a decrease in classification accuracy. However, the RFE method demonstrated the potential to enhance classification accuracy across most of the datasets. It selected a feature subset comprising 65 features, which led to an accuracy of 97.14%. The Mutual Information (MI) method selected 200 features to reach an accuracy of 97.38%. The Feature Importance (FI) method reached a higher accuracy of 97.62% but selected 140 features. Further investigations have shown that selecting 65 and 75 features with the RFE methods led to an identical accuracy of 97.14%. A thorough examination of the selected features revealed the potential for three additional features from three specific sensors to enhance the classification accuracy to 97.38%. These results highlight the significance of employing an appropriate feature selection method to significantly reduce the number of necessary features while maintaining classification accuracy. Chemical warfare agents pose a serious threat due to their extreme toxicity, necessitating swift the identification of chemical gases and individual responses to the identified threats. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy offers a method for remote material analysis, particularly in detecting colorless and odorless chemical agents. In this paper, we propose a deep neural network utilizing a semi-supervised autoencoder (SSAE) for the classification of chemical gases based on FTIR spectra. In contrast to traditional methods, the SSAE concurrently trains an autoencoder and a classifier attached to a latent vector of the autoencoder, enhancing feature extraction for classification. The SSAE was evaluated on laboratory-collected FTIR spectra, demonstrating a superior classification performance compared to existing methods. Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (V-SLAM) plays a crucial role in the development of intelligent robotics and autonomous navigation systems. However, it still faces significant challenges in handling highly dynamic environments. The prevalent method currently used for dynamic object recognition in the environment is deep learning. However, models such as Yolov5 and Mask R-CNN require significant computational resources, which limits their potential in real-time applications due to hardware and time constraints. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes ADM-SLAM, a visual SLAM system designed for dynamic environments that builds upon the ORB-SLAM2. This system integrates efficient adaptive feature point homogenization extraction, lightweight deep learning semantic segmentation based on an improved DeepLabv3, and multi-view geometric segmentation. It optimizes keyframe extraction, segments potential dynamic objects using contextual information with the semantic segmentation network, and detects the motion states of dynamic objects using multi-view geometric methods, thereby eliminating dynamic interference points. The results indicate that ADM-SLAM outperforms ORB-SLAM2 in dynamic environments, especially in high-dynamic scenes, where it achieves up to a 97% reduction in Absolute Trajectory Error (ATE). Intelligent fault diagnostics based on deep learning provides a favorable guarantee for the reliable operation of equipment, but a trained deep learning model generally has low prediction accuracy in cross-domain diagnostics. To solve this problem, a deep learning fault diagnosis method based on the reconstructed envelope spectrum is proposed to improve the ability of rolling bearing cross-domain fault diagnostics in this paper. First, based on the envelope spectrum morphology of rolling bearing failures, a standard envelope spectrum is constructed that reveals the unique characteristics of different bearing health states and eliminates the differences between domains due to different bearing speeds and bearing models. Then, a fault diagnosis model was constructed using a convolutional neural network to learn features and complete fault classification. Finally, using two publicly available bearing data sets and one bearing data set obtained by self-experimentation, the proposed method is applied to the data of the fault diagnostics of rolling bearings under different rotational speeds and different bearing types. The experimental results show that, compared with some popular feature extraction methods, the proposed method can achieve high diagnostic accuracy with data at different rotational speeds and different bearing types, and it is an effective method for solving the problem with cross-domain fault diagnostics for rolling bearings. Gait, a manifestation of one's walking pattern, intricately reflects the harmonious interplay of various bodily systems, offering valuable insights into an individual's health status. However, the current study has shortcomings in the extraction of temporal and spatial dependencies in joint motion, resulting in inefficiencies in pathological gait classification. In this paper, we propose a Frequency Pyramid Graph Convolutional Network (FP-GCN), advocating to complement temporal analysis and further enhance spatial feature extraction. specifically, a spectral decomposition component is adopted to extract gait data with different time frames, which can enhance the detection of rhythmic patterns and velocity variations in human gait and allow a detailed analysis of the temporal features. Furthermore, a novel pyramidal feature extraction approach is developed to analyze the inter-sensor dependencies, which can integrate features from different pathways, enhancing both temporal and spatial feature extraction. Our experimentation on diverse datasets demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach. Notably, FP-GCN achieves an impressive accuracy of 98.78% on public datasets and 96.54% on proprietary data, surpassing existing methodologies and underscoring its potential for advancing pathological gait classification. Object detection is one of the core technologies for autonomous driving. Current road object detection mainly relies on visible light, which is prone to missed detections and false alarms in rainy, night-time, and foggy scenes. Multispectral object detection based on the fusion of RGB and infrared images can effectively address the challenges of complex and changing road scenes, improving the detection performance of current algorithms in complex scenarios. However, previous multispectral detection algorithms suffer from issues such as poor fusion of dual-mode information, poor detection performance for multi-scale objects, and inadequate utilization of semantic information. To address these challenges and enhance the detection performance in complex road scenes, this paper proposes a novel multispectral object detection algorithm called MRD-YOLO. In MRD-YOLO, we utilize interaction-based feature extraction to effectively fuse information and introduce the BIC-Fusion module with attention guidance to fuse different modal information. We also incorporate the SAConv module to improve the model's detection performance for multi-scale objects and utilize the AIFI structure to enhance the utilization of semantic information. Assessing mobility in daily life can provide significant insights into several clinical conditions, such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). In this paper, we present a comprehensive analysis of wearable devices' performance in gait speed estimation and explore optimal device combinations for everyday use. Using data collected from smartphones, smartwatches, and smart shoes, we evaluated the individual capabilities of each device and explored their synergistic effects when combined, thereby accommodating the preferences and possibilities of individuals for wearing different types of devices. Our study involved 20 healthy subjects performing a modified Six-Minute Walking Test (6MWT) under various conditions. The results revealed only little performance differences among devices, with the combination of smartwatches and smart shoes exhibiting superior estimation accuracy. Particularly, smartwatches captured additional health-related information and demonstrated enhanced accuracy when paired with other devices. Surprisingly, wearing all devices concurrently did not yield optimal results, suggesting a potential redundancy in feature extraction. In recent years, deep learning methods have achieved remarkable success in hyperspectral image classification (HSIC), and the utilization of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) has proven to be highly effective. However, there are still several critical issues that need to be addressed in the HSIC task, such as the lack of labeled training samples, which constrains the classification accuracy and generalization ability of CNNs. To address this problem, a deep multi-scale attention fusion network (DMAF-NET) is proposed in this paper. This network is based on multi-scale features and fully exploits the deep features of samples from multiple levels and different perspectives with an aim to enhance HSIC results using limited samples. The innovation of this article is mainly reflected in three aspects: Firstly, a novel baseline network for multi-scale feature extraction is designed with a pyramid structure and densely connected 3D octave convolutional network enabling the extraction of deep-level information from features at different granularities. Secondly, a multi-scale spatial–spectral attention module and a pyramidal multi-scale channel attention module are designed, respectively. This allows modeling of the comprehensive dependencies of coordinates and directions, local and global, in four dimensions. Finally, a multi-attention fusion module is designed to effectively combine feature mappings extracted from multiple branches. During robot-assisted rehabilitation, failure to recognize lower limb movement may efficiently limit the development of exoskeleton robots, especially for individuals with knee pathology. A major challenge encountered with surface electromyography (sEMG) signals generated by lower limb movements is variability between subjects, such as motion patterns and muscle structure. To this end, this paper proposes an sEMG-based lower limb motion recognition using an improved support vector machine (SVM). Firstly, non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is leveraged to analyze muscle synergy for multi-channel sEMG signals. Secondly, the multi-nonlinear sEMG features are extracted, which reflect the complexity of muscle status change during various lower limb movements. The Fisher discriminant function method is utilized to perform feature selection and reduce feature dimension. Then, a hybrid genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization (GA-PSO) method is leveraged to determine the best parameters for SVM. Finally, the experiments are carried out to distinguish 11 healthy and 11 knee pathological subjects by performing three different lower limb movements. Results demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach in three different lower limb movements with an average accuracy of 96.03% in healthy subjects and 93.65% in knee pathological subjects, respectively. Underwater images suffer from low contrast and color distortion. In order to improve the quality of underwater images and reduce storage and computational resources, this paper proposes a lightweight model Rep-UWnet to enhance underwater images. The model consists of a fully connected convolutional network and three densely connected RepConv blocks in series, with the input images connected to the output of each block with a Skip connection. First, the original underwater image is subjected to feature extraction by the SimSPPF module and is processed through feature summation with the original one to be produced as the input image. Then, the first convolutional layer with a kernel size of 3 × 3, generates 64 feature maps, and the multi-scale hybrid convolutional attention module enhances the useful features by reweighting the features of different channels. Second, three RepConv blocks are connected to reduce the number of parameters in extracting features and increase the test speed. Finally, a convolutional layer with 3 kernels generates enhanced underwater images. Our method reduces the number of parameters from 2.7 M to 0.45 M (around 83% reduction) but outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms by extensive experiments. Furthermore, we demonstrate our Rep-UWnet effectively improves high-level vision tasks like edge detection and single image depth estimation. This method not only surpasses the contrast method in objective quality, but also significantly improves the contrast, colorimetry, and clarity of underwater images in subjective quality. Localization and perception play an important role as the basis of autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications, providing the internal state of movements and the external understanding of environments. Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM), one of the critical techniques for localization and perception, is facing technical upgrading, due to the development of embedded hardware, multi-sensor technology, and artificial intelligence. This survey aims at the development of visual SLAM and the basis of UAV applications. The solutions to critical problems for visual SLAM are shown by reviewing state-of-the-art and newly presented algorithms, providing the research progression and direction in three essential aspects: real-time performance, texture-less environments, and dynamic environments. Visual–inertial fusion and learning-based enhancement are discussed for UAV localization and perception to illustrate their role in UAV applications. Subsequently, the trend of UAV localization and perception is shown. The algorithm components, camera configuration, and data processing methods are also introduced to give comprehensive preliminaries. With the continuous advancement of autonomous driving and monitoring technologies, there is increasing attention on non-intrusive target monitoring and recognition. This paper proposes an ArcFace SE-attention model-agnostic meta-learning approach (AS-MAML) by integrating attention mechanisms into residual networks for pedestrian gait recognition using frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) millimeter-wave radar through meta-learning. We enhance the feature extraction capability of the base network using channel attention mechanisms and integrate the additive angular margin loss function (ArcFace loss) into the inner loop of MAML to constrain inner loop optimization and improve radar discrimination. Then, this network is used to classify small-sample micro-Doppler images obtained from millimeter-wave radar as the data source for pose recognition. Experimental tests were conducted on pose estimation and image classification tasks. In order to efficiently identify early tea diseases, an improved YOLOv8 lesion detection method is proposed to address the challenges posed by the complex background of tea diseases, difficulty in detecting small lesions, and low recognition rate of similar phenotypic symptoms. This method focuses on detecting tea leaf blight, tea white spot, tea sooty leaf disease, and tea ring spot as the research objects. This paper presents an enhancement to the YOLOv8 network framework by introducing the Receptive Field Concentration-Based Attention Module (RFCBAM) into the backbone network to replace C2f, thereby improving feature extraction capabilities. Additionally, a mixed pooling module (Mixed Pooling SPPF, MixSPPF) is proposed to enhance information blending between features at different levels. In the neck network, the RepGFPN module replaces the C2f module to further enhance feature extraction. The Dynamic Head module is embedded in the detection head part, applying multiple attention mechanisms to improve multi-scale spatial location and multi-task perception capabilities. Automotive radar is one of the key sensors for intelligent driving. Radar image sequences contain abundant spatial and temporal information, enabling target classification. For existing radar spatiotemporal classifiers, multi-view radar images are usually employed to enhance the information of the target and 3D convolution is employed for spatiotemporal feature extraction. These models consume significant hardware resources and are not applicable to real-time applications. In this paper, RadarTCN, a novel lightweight network, is proposed that achieves high-accuracy online target classification using single-view radar image sequences only. In RadarTCN, 2D convolution and 3D-TCN are employed to extract spatiotemporal features sequentially. To reduce data dimensionality and computational complexity, a multi-layer max pooling down-sampling method is designed in a 2D convolution module. Meanwhile, the 3D-TCN module is improved through residual pruning and causal convolution is introduced for leveraging the performance of online target classification. The experimental results demonstrate that RadarTCN can achieve high-precision online target recognition for both range-angle and range-Doppler map sequences. Accurate and fast recognition of vehicle license plates from natural scene images is a crucial and challenging task. Existing methods can recognize license plates in simple scenarios, but their performance degrades significantly in complex environments. A novel license plate detection and recognition model YOLOv5-PDLPR is proposed, which employs YOLOv5 target detection algorithm in the license plate detection part and uses the PDLPR algorithm proposed in this paper in the license plate recognition part. To address the challenge of accurately locating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in situations where radar tracking is not feasible and visual observation is difficult, this paper proposes an innovative acoustic source localization method based on improved Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) within an adaptive frequency window. In this study, the collected flight signals of UAVs undergo smoothing filtering. Additionally, Robust Empirical Mode Decomposition (REMD) is applied to decompose the signals into Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) components for spectrum analysis. We introduce a sliding frequency window with adjustable bandwidth, which is automatically determined using a Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) with a sliding index. This window is used to lock and extract specific frequencies from the IMFs. Based on predefined criteria, the extracted IMF components are reconstructed, and trigger signal times are analyzed and recorded from these reconstructed IMFs. The time differences between sensor receptions are then calculated. Furthermore, this study introduces the Chan–Taylor localization algorithm based on weighted least squares. This advanced algorithm takes sensor time delay parameters as input and solves a set of nonlinear equations to determine the target's location. Simulations and real-world signal tests are used to validate the robustness and performance of the proposed method. The results indicate that the localization error remains below 5% within a 15 m × 15 m measurement area. This provides an efficient and real-time method for detecting the location of small UAVs. The extraction of effective classification features from high-dimensional hyperspectral images, impeded by the scarcity of labeled samples and uneven sample distribution, represents a formidable challenge within hyperspectral image classification. Traditional few-shot learning methods confront the dual dilemma of limited annotated samples and the necessity for deeper, more effective features from complex hyperspectral data, often resulting in suboptimal outcomes. The prohibitive cost of sample annotation further exacerbates the challenge, making it difficult to rely on a scant number of annotated samples for effective feature extraction. Prevailing high-accuracy algorithms require abundant annotated samples and falter in deriving deep, discriminative features from limited data, compromising classification performance for complex substances. This paper advocates for an integration of advanced spectral–spatial feature extraction with meta-transfer learning to address the classification of hyperspectral signals amidst insufficient labeled samples. Initially trained on a source domain dataset with ample labels, the model undergoes transference to a target domain with minimal samples, utilizing dense connection blocks and tree-dimensional convolutional residual connections to enhance feature extraction and maximize spatial and spectral information retrieval. Point cloud registration is widely used in autonomous driving, SLAM, and 3D reconstruction, and it aims to align point clouds from different viewpoints or poses under the same coordinate system. However, point cloud registration is challenging in complex situations, such as a large initial pose difference, high noise, or incomplete overlap, which will cause point cloud registration failure or mismatching. To address the shortcomings of the existing registration algorithms, this paper designed a new coarse-to-fine registration two-stage point cloud registration network, CCRNet, which utilizes an end-to-end form to perform the registration task for point clouds. The multi-scale feature extraction module, coarse registration prediction module, and fine registration prediction module designed in this paper can robustly and accurately register two point clouds without iterations. CCRNet can link the feature information between two point clouds and solve the problems of high noise and incomplete overlap by using a soft correspondence matrix. In the standard dataset ModelNet40, in cases of large initial pose difference, high noise, and incomplete overlap, the accuracy of our method, compared with the second-best popular registration algorithm, was improved by 7.0%, 7.8%, and 22.7% on the MAE, respectively. Radar data can be presented in various forms, unlike visible data. In the field of radar target recognition, most current work involves point cloud data due to computing limitations, but this form of data lacks useful information. This paper proposes a semantic segmentation network to process high-dimensional data and enable automatic radar target recognition. Rather than relying on point cloud data, which is common in current radar automatic target recognition algorithms, the paper suggests using a radar heat map of high-dimensional data to increase the efficiency of radar data use. Aiming at challenges such as the high complexity of the network model, the large number of parameters, and the slow speed of training and testing in cross-view gait recognition, this paper proposes a solution: Multi-teacher Joint Knowledge Distillation (MJKD). The algorithm employs multiple complex teacher models to train gait images from a single view, extracting inter-class relationships that are then weighted and integrated into the set of inter-class relationships. In the coastal areas of China, the eutrophication of seawater leads to the continuous occurrence of red tide, which has caused great damage to Marine fisheries and aquatic resources. Therefore, the detection and prediction of red tide have important research significance. The rapid development of optical remote sensing technology and deep-learning technology provides technical means for realizing large-scale and high-precision red tide detection. However, the difficulty of the accurate detection of red tide edges with complex boundaries limits the further improvement of red tide detection accuracy. In view of the above problems, this paper takes GOCI data in the East China Sea as an example and proposes an improved U-Net red tide detection method. In the improved U-Net method, NDVI was introduced to enhance the characteristic information of the red tide to improve the separability between the red tide and seawater. At the same time, the ECA channel attention mechanism was introduced to give different weights according to the influence of different bands on red tide detection, and the spectral characteristics of different channels were fully mined to further extract red tide characteristics. A shallow feature extraction module based on Atrous Spatial Pyramid Convolution (ASPC) was designed to improve the U-Net model. The red tide feature information in a multi-scale context was fused under multiple sampling rates to enhance the model's ability to extract features at different scales. The problem of limited accuracy improvement in red tide edge detection with complex boundaries is solved via the fusion of deep and shallow features and multi-scale spatial features. Compared with other methods, the method proposed in this paper achieves better results and can detect red tide edges with complex boundaries, and the accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score are 95.90%, 97.15%, 91.53%, and 0.94, respectively. (1) Background: The ability to recognize identities is an essential component of security. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals have gained popularity for identity recognition because of their universal, unique, stable, and measurable characteristics. To ensure accurate identification of ECG signals, this paper proposes an approach which involves mixed feature sampling, sparse representation, and recognition. (2) Methods: This paper introduces a new method of identifying individuals through their ECG signals. This technique combines the extraction of fixed ECG features and specific frequency features to improve accuracy in ECG identity recognition. This approach uses the wavelet transform to extract frequency bands which contain personal information features from the ECG signals. These bands are reconstructed, and the single R-peak localization determines the ECG window. The signals are segmented and standardized based on the located windows. A sparse dictionary is created using the standardized ECG signals, and the KSVD (K-Orthogonal Matching Pursuit) algorithm is employed to project ECG target signals into a sparse vector–matrix representation. To extract the final representation of the target signals for identification, the sparse coefficient vectors in the signals are maximally pooled. For recognition, the co-dimensional bundle search method is used in this paper. (3) Results: This paper utilizes the publicly available European ST-T database for our study. Specifically, this paper selects ECG signals from 20, 50 and 70 subjects, each with 30 testing segments. With the advancement of neural networks, more and more neural networks are being applied to structural health monitoring systems (SHMSs). When an SHMS requires the integration of numerous neural networks, high-performance and low-latency networks are favored. This paper focuses on damage detection based on vibration signals. In contrast to traditional neural network approaches, this study utilizes a stochastic configuration network (SCN). An SCN is an incrementally learning network that randomly configures appropriate neurons based on data and errors. It is an emerging neural network that does not require predefined network structures and is not based on gradient descent. While SCNs dynamically define the network structure, they essentially function as fully connected neural networks that fail to capture the temporal properties of monitoring data effectively. Moreover, they suffer from inference time and computational cost issues. To enable faster and more accurate operation within the monitoring system, this paper introduces a stochastic convolutional feature extraction approach that does not rely on backpropagation. Additionally, a random node deletion algorithm is proposed to automatically prune redundant neurons in SCNs, addressing the issue of network node redundancy. Experimental results demonstrate that the feature extraction method improves accuracy by 30% compared to the original SCN, and the random node deletion algorithm removes approximately 10% of neurons. The application of edge computing combined with the Internet of Things (edge-IoT) has been rapidly developed. It is of great significance to develop a lightweight network for gearbox compound fault diagnosis in the edge-IoT context. The goal of this paper is to devise a novel and high-accuracy lightweight neural network based on Legendre multiwavelet transform and multi-channel convolutional neural network (LMWT-MCNN) to fast recognize various compound fault categories of gearbox. The contributions of this paper mainly lie in three aspects: The feature images are designed based on the LMWT frequency domain and they are easily implemented in the MCNN model to effectively avoid noise interference. The proposed lightweight model only consists of three convolutional layers and three pooling layers to further extract the most valuable fault features without any artificial feature extraction. In a fully connected layer, the specific fault type of rotating machinery is identified by the multi-label method. This paper provides a promising technique for rotating machinery fault diagnosis in real applications based on edge-IoT, which can largely reduce labor costs. Finally, the PHM 2009 gearbox and Paderborn University bearing compound fault datasets are used to verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method. This paper aims to enhance the performance of the current Graph Convolutional Network (GCN)-based Graph Anomaly Detection (GAD) algorithm on datasets with extremely low proportions of anomalous labels. This goal is achieved through modifying the GCN network structure and conducting feature extraction, thus fully utilizing three types of information in the graph: node label information, node feature information, and edge information. Firstly, we theoretically demonstrate the relationship between label propagation and feature convolution, indicating that the Label Propagation Algorithm (LPA) can serve as a regularization penalty term for GCN, aiding in training and enabling learnable edge weights, providing a basis for incorporating node label information into GCN networks. Secondly, we introduce a method to aggregate node and edge features, thereby incorporating edge information into GCN networks. Finally, we design different GCN trainable weights for node features and co-embedding features. This design allows different features to be projected into different spaces, greatly enhancing model expressiveness. Experimental results on the DGraph dataset demonstrate superior AUC performance compared to baseline models, highlighting the feasibility and efficacy of the proposed approach in addressing GAD tasks in the scene with extremely low proportions of anomalous data. Accurate and reliable pose estimation of boom-type roadheaders is the key to the forming quality of the tunneling face in coal mines, which is of great importance to improve tunneling efficiency and ensure the safety of coal mine production. The multi-laser-beam target-based visual localization method is an effective way to realize accurate and reliable pose estimation of a roadheader body. However, the complex background interference in coal mines brings great challenges to the stable and accurate segmentation and extraction of laser beam features, which has become the main problem faced by the long-distance visual positioning method of underground equipment. In this paper, a semantic segmentation network for underground laser beams in coal mines, RCEAU-Net, is proposed based on U-Net. The network introduces residual connections in the convolution of the encoder and decoder parts, which effectively fuses the underlying feature information and improves the gradient circulation performance of the network. At the same time, by introducing cascade multi-scale convolution in the skipping connection section, which compensates for the lack of contextual semantic information in U-Net and improves the segmentation effect of the network model on tiny laser beams at long distance. Finally, the introduction of an efficient multi-scale attention module with cross-spatial learning in the encoder enhances the feature extraction capability of the network. Furthermore, the laser beam target dataset (LBTD) is constructed based on laser beam target images collected from several coal mines, and the proposed RCEAU-Net model is then tested and verified. The experimental results show that, compared with the original U-Net, RCEAU-Net can ensure the real-time performance of laser beam segmentation while increasing the Accuracy by 0.19%, Precision by 2.53%, Recall by 22.01%, and Intersection and Union Ratio by 8.48%, which can meet the requirements of multi-laser-beam feature segmentation and extraction under complex backgrounds in coal mines, so as to further ensure the accuracy and stability of long-distance visual positioning for boom-type roadheaders and ensure the safe production in the working face. Deep learning methodologies employed for biomass prediction often neglect the intricate relationships between labels and samples, resulting in suboptimal predictive performance. This paper introduces an advanced supervised contrastive learning technique, termed Improved Supervised Contrastive Deep Regression (SCDR), which is adept at effectively capturing the nuanced relationships between samples and labels in the feature space, thereby mitigating this limitation. Simultaneously, we propose the U-like Hierarchical Residual Fusion Network (BioUMixer), a bespoke biomass prediction network tailored for image data. BioUMixer enhances feature extraction from biomass image data, facilitating information exchange and fusion while considering both global and local features within the images. The efficacy of the proposed method is validated on the Pepper_Biomass dataset, which encompasses over 600 original images paired with corresponding biomass labels. The results demonstrate a noteworthy enhancement in deep regression tasks, as evidenced by performance metrics on the Pepper_Biomass dataset, including RMSE = 252.18, MAE = 201.98, and MAPE = 0.107. Additionally, assessment on the publicly accessible GrassClover dataset yields metrics of RMSE = 47.92, MAE = 31.74, and MAPE = 0.192. Long-term, automated fish detection provides invaluable data for deep-sea aquaculture, which is crucial for safe and efficient seawater aquafarming. In this paper, we used an infrared camera installed on a deep-sea truss-structure net cage to collect fish images, which were subsequently labeled to establish a fish dataset. Comparison experiments with our dataset based on Faster R-CNN as the basic objection detection framework were conducted to explore how different backbone networks and network improvement modules influenced fish detection performances. Furthermore, we also experimented with the effects of different learning rates, feature extraction layers, and data augmentation strategies. Our results showed that Faster R-CNN with the EfficientNetB0 backbone and FPN module was the most competitive fish detection network for our dataset, since it took a significantly shorter detection time while maintaining a high AP50 value of 0.85, compared to the best AP50 value of 0.86 being achieved by the combination of VGG16 with all improvement modules plus data augmentation. Ultrasonic diagnostics is the earliest way to predict industrial faults. Usually, a contact microphone is employed for detection, but the recording will be contaminated with noise. In this paper, a dataset that contains 10 main faults of pipelines and motors is analyzed from which 30 different features in the time and frequency domains are extracted. Afterward, for dimensionality reduction, principal component analysis (PCA), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE) are performed. In the subsequent phase, recursive feature elimination (RFE) is employed as a strategic method to analyze and select the most relevant features for the classifiers. Next, predictive models consisting of k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), Gaussian Naive Bayes (GNB), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) are employed. Then, in order to solve the classification problem, a stacking classifier based on a meta-classifier which combines multiple classification models is introduced. Furthermore, the k-fold cross-validation technique is employed to assess the effectiveness of the model in handling new data for the evaluation of experimental results in ultrasonic fault detection. With the proposed method, the accuracy is around 5% higher over five cross folds with the least amount of variation. The timing evaluation of the meta model on the 64 MHz Cortex M4 microcontroller unit (MCU) revealed an execution time of 11 ms, indicating it could be a promising solution for real-time monitoring. Lineament is a unique geological structure. The study of Lunar lineament structure has great significance on understanding its history and evolution of Lunar surface. However, the existing geographic feature extraction methods are not suitable for the extraction of Lunar lineament structure. In this paper, a new lineament extraction method is proposed based on improved-UNet++ and YOLOv5. Firstly, new lineament dataset is created containing lineaments structure based on CCD data from LROC. At same time the residual blocks are replaced with the VGG blocks in the down sample part of the UNet++ with adding the attention block between each layer. Secondly, the improved-UNet++ and YOLO networks are trained to execute the object detection and semantic segmentation of lineament structure respectively. Finally, a polygon-match strategy is proposed to combine the results of object detection and semantic segmentation. The experiment result indicate that this new method has relatively better and more stable performance compared with current mainstream networks and the original UNet++ network in the instance segmentation of lineament structure. This paper addresses the critical challenge of detecting, separating, and classifying partial discharges in substations. It proposes two solutions: the first involves developing a signal conditioning system to reduce the sampling requirements for PD detection and increase the signal-to-noise ratio. The second approach uses machine learning techniques to separate and classify PD based on features extracted from the conditioned signal. Three clustering algorithms (K-means, Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), and Mean-shift) and the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method were used for signal separation and classification. The proposed system effectively reduced high-frequency components up to 50 MHz, improved the signal-to-noise ratio, and effectively separated different sources of partial discharges without losing relevant information. An accuracy of up to 93% was achieved in classifying the partial discharge sources. The successful implementation of the signal conditioning system and the machine learning-based signal separation approach opens avenues for more economical, scalable, and reliable PD monitoring systems. Monitoring blood pressure, a parameter closely related to cardiovascular activity, can help predict imminent cardiovascular events. In this paper, a novel method is proposed to customize an existing mechanistic model of the cardiovascular system through feature extraction from cardiopulmonary acoustic signals to estimate blood pressure using artificial intelligence. As various factors, such as drug consumption, can alter the biomechanical properties of the cardiovascular system, the proposed method seeks to personalize the mechanistic model using information extracted from vibroacoustic sensors. Simulation results for the proposed approach are evaluated by calculating the error in blood pressure estimates compared to ground truth arterial line measurements, with the results showing promise for this method. The traditional rearview mirror method cannot fully guarantee safety when driving trucks. RGB and infrared images collected by cameras are used for registration and recognition, so as to achieve the perception of surroundings and ensure safe driving. The traditional scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithm has a mismatching rate, and the YOLO algorithm has an optimization space in feature extraction. To address these issues, this paper proposes a truck surround sensing technique based on multi-features and an improved YOLOv5 algorithm. Firstly, the edge corner points and infrared features of the preset target region are extracted, and then a feature point set containing the improved SIFT algorithm is generated for registration. Finally, the YOLOv5 algorithm is improved by fusing infrared features and introducing a composite prediction mechanism at the prediction end. The simulation results show that, on average, the image stitching accuracy is improved by 17%, the time is reduced by 89%, and the target recognition accuracy is improved by 2.86%. The experimental results show that this method can effectively perceive the surroundings of trucks, accurately identify targets, and reduce the missed alarm rate and false alarm rate.
